Autocar Connaiseur was founded in 1982 by Lorenzo Calce, a former vice-president of Murray Hill Limousines, operating charters and Gray Line sightseeing tours in Montreal. In 1997 the company, which had grown to a fleet of over 100 buses, was sold to Coach USAA BRIEF HISTORY - Lorenzo & Roberto Calce the North American division of Stagecoach. Baudry was born in Douala (French Cameroons) and is married with three children from another union. His hobbies include mechanical sports, such as motorcycling and car racing. He also enjoys running marathons, playing squash, skiing, shooting, windsurfing, and sky diving. Baudry is also a wine connaisseur.

Speck-Sternburg was born in Gröba and became wealthy in the wool trade. On his visits to various places he enjoyed viewing the art galleries and became a connaisseur. During his travels through Europe, Baron von Sternburg assembled an extensive art collection between 1807 and 1832. He acquired paintings by German, Dutch, Italian, French and Spanish masters from famous collections in Vienna, Rome or Brussels.

The Targa was a popular high-end model which was introduced in 1976 and came in over 80 different finishes and two sizes (classic and slim). The still very popular Connaisseur pen was introduced in 1986 (using the idiosyncratic spelling as a marketing ploy) as an upgraded version of the low-cost No- Nonsense line that paid homage to earlier Sheaffer flat-tops, and included the high-end Grande series, and three series of Levenger Connoisseur's that were dual branded and sold by Levenger.

Jean entered the École spéciale militaire in 1924, and was a commissioned a Sous- lieutenant in 1926 (Rif promotion). Jean was assigned to the 28th Chasseur Battalion à Pied () on 2 October 1926. Promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 October 1928, Jean served in the 4th Foreign Regiment 4e R.E. on 10 July 1931 and with the Goums () where he acquired a great deal of cultural knowledge and was an expert connaisseur around Muslim affairs. Placed hors cadre, on 20 October 1933, at the title of special services of North Africa.

While in the Netherlands, he engaged in one-off improvised music concerts with The Amsterdam String Trio and trumpeter Eric Boeren among others. A 1997 solo CD called Ivory Bill on the American Music and Arts label highlights Plonsey's use of multiple saxophones, mostly recorded by overdubbing two or more saxophones in the recording studio.

He was admitted as auditor () at the CHEM () and the Institute of IHEDN () in 2001. This formidable career made him an expert connaisseur of the African Continent. Accordingly, on July 2002, he joined the Military Cabinet of the Minister of Defense () to manage the « Africa and Middle East » department cell. Nominated to Général de brigade on July 1, 2005, he assumed on the same date the commandment of the 9th Light Armoured Marine Brigade 9e B.L.B.Ma and was engaged at this title, as operations assistant during Opération Licorne in the Ivory Coast. Two years later, he assumed command of the Infantry Application School then was nominated to Général de division in 2008.
