Chillout Sessions is a series of compilations released by Ministry of Sound that focus on songs from the chillout genre. Songs on Chillout Sessions compilations vary in style from lounge to electronica and are released by many different artists. The Chillout Out genre of compilations started in the UK and since 2003 Ministry of Sound has released them under different tropes such as "Chilled", "After Hours", "The Morning After..." which has shown MOS to have seemingly ended its branding of the genre as Chillout Sessions. A similar series started in Australia, where the series changed its name from The Chillout Session to The Chillout Sessions and then simply to Chillout Sessions and continued until 2016 with XIX until the record label rebranded to TMRW following the acquisition of MoS by Sony in the UK. Some Chillout Sessions albums have become known and distinguishable for the symbol of a turntable (with the Ministry of Sound logo on it) frozen in ice, or in one case (The Summer Collection 2003) the turntable itself is made of ice.

In the UK, Ibiza Chillout Session was released in August 2001. Although not as successful as the prior releases, it received positive reviews, as did the Ibiza 2002 album. The Chillout Session is the first compilation in the series and was released on 5 February 2001 in the United Kingdom and Australia. WBWH is currently the place of production for two internationally syndicated radio shows. The first show to be syndicated from WBWH-LP was The Chillout Sessions, hosted by Donald Isaac. The Chillout Sessions is heard on many online and FM stations in places such as New York City, Orlando, Cincinnati, London, Nicosia, Cyprus, Newcastle upon Tyne, in addition to West Virginia. Most recently, The Alternative Project, hosted by Evan Skilliter, became the second show to be syndicated from WBWH- LP. The Alternative Project is currently heard on many FM and online stations in locations such as Porirua, New Zealand, Boston, and West Virginia.

Funkmaster Flex) during the late 1980s / early 1990s and was asked to do pre-production on Chuck and Chip's album, "Rhythm is the Master". Lewis being an unknown producer was introduced to D.J. Chuck Chillout by DJ Wildstyle from Co-Op City in the Bronx. Wildstyle suggested that Lewis create a radio promo for Chuck. A radio promo is a short musical segment giving props and promotion to the radio D.J. and these promos were very popular at the time.

After a period of legal problems the third album It's Tomorrow Already came out on Ninja Tune. In 1990, he made one of the first chillout compilations, Give Peace a Dance 2: The Ambient Collection for the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, followed by the series Chillout or Die for Rising High Records. A mix tape for Mixmag shared with Alex Patterson was also released as a CD. The Morning After became his first major-label mix album, followed by Abstract Funk Theory for Obsessive. Through the 1990s he was a regular DJ in the chill out room at Return to the Source parties in London, around the UK and abroad. In 2003 he released the mix CD God Bless the Chilled for the Return to the Source Ambient Meditations series. He has produced many remixes since 1985, including Coldcut's "Autumn Leaves".

The second sequel, Chilled Acoustic, was released on 17 May 2010. It is themed to chillout songs which use acoustic guitars, following the themed Anthems Electronic 80s release in November 2009. A printing error was made on every copy of the album. The top half of the Ministry of Sound logo, which appears on the reverse side of the digipack, is accidentally printed upside down.

Car Stereo Wars - from foxhunt photo set Car Stereo Wars were formed in Melbourne in 2000 by Jason White and Matt Gillman after meeting at a computer animation course. They were joined soon after by Alyssa Doe on vocals and went on to release their first EP "Project A." The song "Broken" was then picked up for Ministry of Sounds Chillout Sessions and subsequently signed to Ministry of Sound Australia and released "They Asked me to be in a Movie" EP in 2003. The single "Come to Nothing" was then added to the playlist of a subsequent Ministry of Sound chillout compilation. The band released their debut album in 2008 "For Your Comfort and Safety" and has enjoyed recent commercial success with the track "Come to Nothing" being used in a Tic Tac television commercial in the United States and available as a free download from the Tic Tac USA website.

Darrin Campbell Huss has performed around the world with his band Psyche becoming renowned for his vocal range and distinct timbre. He has been involved in various genres of electronically based music. An album of songs under the band name Lounge, entitled "Elegance" was released at the end of 2006. It features his vocals of emotional melancholy and relaxed moodscapes with romantic and thoughtful lyrics to chillout, and downtempo music.

The Flavor Unit is a crew of emcees and DJs from New York City and Northern New Jersey. It is now known as the Unit. The original version of the crew centered on producer the 45 King. It was Mark's connections to radio personalities DJ Red Alert and DJ Chuck Chillout that initially got the crew noticed, but the original members also all had formidable rhyme skills and wrote streetwise lyrics.

Cuibul are an acoustic funk band from Chisinau, Moldova. Igor Dinga, founder and initial vocalist of the band formed the band in 1991 as a rock'n'roll funk fusion band. The band released 6 albums and their musical style changed from rock'n'roll to acoustic mellow funk with chillout and Latino influences. Cuibul is widely regarded as an important contributor to the Moldovan live music scene, being the oldest one among the still active bands from Moldova.

Hot is the debut studio album by Romanian singer Inna, released on 4 August 2009 by Magic Records. Inna collaborated on the record with Romanian trio Play & Win, who entirely wrote, produced and arranged Hot at their Play & Win Studios in Constanța, Romania. It was described as an electronic dance music (EDM) album, with influences varying from trance, electro house and techno to Hi-NRG, synth-pop and chillout. Lyrically, Hot deals with love themes.

In March 2009, Campbell was cast in an ABC comedy pilot based on the British series No Heroics, which revolves around four B-list superheroes. He played the leader of the group, Pete, aka Chillout, a Canadian-born superhero who can freeze small objects. The pilot was not picked up by ABC. Deep Forest is a French musical group originally consisting of two French musicians, Michel Sanchez and Éric Mouquet. As a guitarist and vocalist, Nand frequently incorporates the musical styles of World music, flamenco, rock, dance, chillout, and blues. 29 to 31 August 2008. To do justice to the diverse range of sounds showcased in Baybeats, performance locations were carefully selected to best enhance the audience experience. The Chillout Stage located at Esplanade’s Concourse was designed to profile more intimate performances such as electronic music and DJ sets. Esplanade’s redeveloped Outdoor Theatre (2.5 times larger than before) was and will be a key staple of the festival with performances held there on all three days of Baybeats.

Elliot Jones's background is in chillout and dub music, from running his own label and performing for clubs and gatherings in the early 1990s. Nick Woolfson has worked in lots of different styles of music, as long as it is innovative and good quality, with downtempo being his comfort zone. Jones had written Triangle as a demo which was introduced to Woolfson; their styles matched and the duo was born. Woolfson's studio in London is called The Starlight Rooms.

In its 8th Year, Mofest brought ASH to the Town Hall, supported by The Amorettes, a 3-piece female rock band from Glasgow, and local group If All Else Fails, all from 22–24 May. Additions included The Market Area, supported by Event Scotland for the promotion of local Scottish food and drink. A structure called The MoDome was set up as a chillout zone and for hosting acoustic sets after the main stage had finished.

Earth Drum was awarded the 2009 Coalition of Visionary Retailers awards for Album of the Year and Best World Album. Also in the early 2000s, the Gordons introduced a second record label imprint, Sequoia Groove, specializing in chill-out music compilations, including the Buddha-Lounge series that charted in Billboard in 2004, Cafe de Luna, Hotel Tara, and others; and world music influenced electronica artists including Tya, and Achillea (featuring Jens Gad of Enigma). New recordings by the Gordon brothers in the chillout genre were included in several of these compilations, and in 2008 they released their first album of downtempo electronic music, Yoga Planet, followed by their second album of chillout music in 2009, Nirvana Groove. David & Steve Gordon released two albums of world drum and percussion music in 2009, an upbeat recording titled Drum Cargo: Rhythms of Fire, and an album of quiet drum beats with crystal bowls and native flutes titled Meditation Drum, that according to the liner notes is intended to encourage meditation and relaxation.

By the early 1990s, artists such as the Orb, Aphex Twin, Seefeel, the Irresistible Force, Geir Jenssen's Biosphere, and the Higher Intelligence Agency gained commercial success and were being referred to by the popular music press as ambient house, ambient techno, IDM or simply "ambient". 2011 was also the year that Ministry of Sound launched its large-scale campaign 20:20, to celebrate 20 years of The Ministry of Sound as a club. One of the associated releases was the box set XX Twenty Years, each disc made up of a different dance genre; the final disc in the box set was Chillout Sessions. Around the same time, Anthems Collection was released, with five discs, each from a different genre, the final one being Anthems Chilled.

The live show featured Big Daddy Kane and the Juice Crew, Eric B & Rakim, Doug E. Fresh, KRS-One and Boogie Down Productions, EPMD, Flavor Flav and many more. It also featured past hosts and DJs who helped shepherd the series, like Fab 5 Freddy, Ed Lover, Doctor Dré, T Money, Skribble, Red Alert, and Chuck Chillout.

Koffee's position is 'Time To Chill' and plays a varied range of music across multiple genres of chillout music, including folk, electronica, singer- songwriter, and trip-hop, as well as Jazz and other rarely played genres on Australian radio. On 6 September 2019, the Koffee station was replaced by a new station called smooth Relax. On 25 September 2019, the station was replaced by smooth Chill, which restored the programming and most of the music that was originally on Koffee.

Ministry of Sound, as a label, began in 1993 and its first album was the first volume of a series called Sessions. The series was successful enough for it to generate a spin- off series of The Chillout Session, which began in 2001 with a UK Compilation Chart #1 album. Volume 2 was also very successful. The first and second volumes were released in both the UK and Australia, but the series divided in August 2001, with one series for the UK and the other for Australia.

According to TyDi, Redefined represented a change in his approach to music creation, focusing more on songwriting rather than just hooks and rhythms. The album took three years to write and produce, during which time approximately 300 songs that were started were whittled down to the final 20. The album was not genre specific with house, progressive house, pop (ish), trance and chillout tracks all making the final cut. Fourteenth Century Sky is an extended play (EP) by English big beat duo The Chemical Brothers, their second release under the name The Dust Brothers. The EP contains "Chemical Beats" and "One Too Many Mornings", later released on the Brothers' debut album Exit Planet Dust. There are two different versions of the EP in terms of design, one has a predominantly black background as in the picture, the other is predominantly white and appears to be somewhat rarer. "One Too Many Mornings" found fame in 2001 after appearing on several chillout compilation albums.

Cauty's other band, The KLF, made their premier live performance at the Land of Oz in July 1989. Replacing Rage on Thursday from October 1993 until 1996 was Megatripolis, with Mixmaster Morris and regular guests such as Mr. C and Alex Paterson.

Pet Dog Storm is a band from Warwickshire in the UK, signed in 2010 to Integrity Records. The band's debut single "Time to Fly" was played by Tom Robinson on BBC Radio 6 Music, and John Kennedy on XFM. It features on the band's debut album Beautiful is Down, which was released on 4 December 2011. Pet Dog Storm comprise Ibiza DJ Mark Lane and vocalist Tina M who have appeared as Aware on a number of chillout compilations including those of the Cafe del Mar and Hed Kandi. label.

The record's last singles, "Yalla" (2015) and "Rendez Vous" (2016), were both moderately successful in Inna's native country. Capital Disney played a range of chart music and new acts. Originally, talking story books could be heard often during school hours, but were replaced by non-stop music from 9am until 1pm and then a DJ, James Beckingham, from 1 to 4pm, under the name of "Daytime". They also played artists that didn't get any airplay on mainstream radio such as The Lovebites and album tracks from artists that appear on the playlist. Overnight, Capital Disney played non-stop hits, however previously to this overnight was the home of non-stop chillout music.

Funk ’n Pussy is an album by rapper Schoolly D. The album was released in 2000 for Chord Records and was produced by Schoolly D, DJ Code Money, and DJ Chuck Chillout. Reviews for the album were generally mixed, but like his previous albums, the album was a commercial failure. The album spawned three singles: “Do It, Do It,” “Can You Feel It,” and “Yes Yes Y’all.” The first track, “Yahmean,” featured fellow hip hop emcees Chuck D and Lady B. “Mr. Big Dick 2000” is a remix by the UK trip hop outfit Sneaker Pimps.

In addition to the dedicated family camping area, the festival featured a children's program. There were three areas that catered for all ages of children: ages 3 to 7, ages 7 to 12, and ages 13 to 17, each with a program filled with art, music, dance, performance and more. The youngest children could enjoy the Rainbow Garden, an under seven's children's play area, puppet shows, face painting, children's yoga, children's theatre, circus skills workshops, and many other children's performances. After leaving Bucks Fizz in 1991, Preston made a career as a backing vocalist, touring and appearing with Jason Donovan, INXS, Brian May, Michael Bolton, Go West, Beverley Craven, Alexander O'Neal, Luther Vandross, Donny Osmond, Blue, Westlife, Alison Moyet, Tom Jones, David Hasselhoff, Errol Brown and Belinda Carlisle (she still occasionally performs with Carlisle). During the 1990s she worked as a model, appearing in a number of commercials. She was also the voice of Radio One as featured vocalist on their idents for two years. In 2001 she was invited to join the "chillout lounge" band Cloudfish, with Spandau Ballet saxophonist, Steve Norman.

The following year, American rapper French Montana sampled the composition for a song with the same title, which then ended up on his mixtape Mac & Cheese 3 (2012). Electronic musician Groundislava remixed "Sanctuary" in 2013, and was noted for its chillout musical elements. Nowadays it mainly refers to electrotango, a fusion of tango and electronic music which emerged in Argentina in the early 2000s (Gotan Project, Tanghetto, Bajofondo, Electrocutango, Tango Jointz, Tango Fusion, Narcotango and Otros Aires) . Neotango is also used to classify milongas where a wide spectrum of music is played: not only electrotango and tango nuevo, but also classical music, blues, trip-hop, ballads, dubstep, deep house, klezmer, soundtracks, chillout, world music, etc.

Rising High Records was a leading British record label, established in 1991, specializing in rave, techno and ambient chillout music. Founded by Caspar Pound, who had had chart success with a Homeboy, a Hippie and a Funki Dredd, the label went on to be at the forefront of dance music in the 1990s. The label was formed at F2 studios in London with studio owner Rob Mcluhan. Pound had recorded "Total Confusion" at F2 and decided to form his own label in partnership with the studio, teaming up with the in-house producer Pete Smith to form The Hypnotist.

Los Brujos disbanded in 1998 after eight years of solid productions, but it left a large void in the movement. One of the last hurrahs of new rock were rap-rockers Actitud Maria Marta, which had a year of fame in 1995. Babasónicos, Todos Tus Muertos, and Illya Kuryaki and the Valderramas were some of the new rock bands that were able to maintain their level as the year 2000 approached. Also, 1995 would see the last album by Soda Stereo, their relaxed almost chillout-like Sueño Stereo, an album at times more electronic than rock previewing the direction of Gustavo Cerati's solo career.

DJ Chuck Chillout used samples such as Kool & the Gang, Cameo, Cymande, Talking Heads and Incredible Bong Band. Stezo also used Lyn Collins, George Clinton, Kool and the Gang and Spoonie G. After the 70s disco boom was over, many musicians(Bee Gees, Donna Summer, Villedge People, etc・・) who had the fame and spotlight under the disco's mainstream success faded away. Much of the obscure music rediscovered as samples in newer house or hip-hop tracks is labeled "rare groove" retroactively.

Between 2003 and 2008 he collaborated with Colombian artist/sculptor Lucho Brieva on the Corroncho project. The project sprang from a Spanish version of the track Complicada, written by Brieva's wife Chrissie Hynde. The resulting album comprises a set of songs about two corroncho characters ("corroncho" being the pejorative name given by people from Bogotá to fellow Colombians from the Caribbean Coast, particularly Barranquilla). The album includes the musical styles of salsa, cumbia, pop music, ballads and chillout and has guest appearances from Robert Wyatt, Paul Thompson, Enrique Bunbury, Chrissie Hynde, Annie Lennox, Quimi Portet, Gilad Atzmon, and one of Cuba's top pianists Aldo Lopez Gavilan.

The show's finale was held on March 5, 2017 at the Alonte Sports Arena where he was declared as one of the runners-up, with Entrata winning the competition. In September 2017 Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber, popularly known with their loveteam "MayWard", played the lead roles for their debut film, Loving in Tandem, which was released nationwide on September 13, 2017. Right after, he got a cameo role in the box office hit film Seven Sundays. On October 15, 2017 he was recognized as Push Personality Newcomer during the awarding ceremony of PUSH AWARDS, an annual digital media event of ABS-CBN held at the ASAP Chillout.

After that, the night became a classic and became one of the UK's major acid house nights, known as Spectrum at Heaven in Charing Cross. The party was best known for the "Theatre of Madness", as more than 1,500 people were present on Monday nights, until it went down; with the financial issues it changed its name to the "Land of Oz". Artists like Alex Paterson DJ'd in the VIP chillout area known as the "White Room", which gave Oakenfold more free time, and then he began producing music under the alias "Electra" in 1988. Members included Nick Divaris, John "Johnny" Rocca and Micky.

The 1990s brought on a wave of slower paced music which was played throughout chillout rooms—the relaxation sections of the clubs or dedicated sections at electronic music events. Downtempo music started to surface around Ibiza, when DJs and promoters would bring down the vibe with slower rhythm and gentler electronic music upon approaching sunrise. In the late 1980s, trip hop emerged from Bristol, which combined elements of hip hop beats, drum and bass breaks, and ambient atmospheres at a lower tempo. At the end of the 1990s a more melodic instrumental electronica incorporating acoustic sounds with electronic styles emerged under its own umbrella name of downtempo.

RTÉ Chill is a digital radio station of the Irish public-service broadcaster Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ). It broadcasts mostly chillout and ambient music as well as other low-tempo genres and typically features the output of such cutting-edge artists as Leftfield, The Orb, Sigur Rós, and Juana Molina. The station, which timeshares with RTÉjr Radio is on air between 21:00 and 7:00, and is available on channel 207 on Saorview, Ireland's free-to-air Digital Terrestrial Television service. On 6 November 2019, RTÉ management announced that, as part of a major cost-saving program, all its digital radio stations would be closed, including RTÉ Chill.

It had become more of an Defected release than a Ministry of Sound release evidenced by the fact the Ministry of Sound's logo wasn't even present on the twelfth Sessions cover. Volumes 13, 14 and 15 actually didn't feature a number in the title. After focusing on the spin-off series Chillout Sessions, which ran initially for 8 volumes between 2001 and 2003 (plus a 9th volume in 2006), Ministry of Sound "rebooted" the Sessions series with a brand new album released in 2005. This was the entirely live recording from Tim Sheridan and Smokin' Jo. This rebooted Sessions lasted for fifteen volumes until 2007.

Pirner also composed the incidental music for the film. The song "Can't Even Tell" is featured in Smith's Clerks, and Smith used "Misery" in the sequel, Clerks II. In 2002 Pirner released his first solo album entitled Faces & Names on Ultimatum Music. He also contributed guest vocals on the song "Chillout Tent" in The Hold Steady's 2006 release, Boys and Girls in America. In 2020 he released the book Loud Fast Words: Soul Asylum Collected Lyrics and when the pandemic stopped the tour Soul Asylum was making for their new album, Pirner and the band's guitar player Ryan Smith played 100 original songs on weekly Facebook streams that were called The Quarantine Sessions.

Lewis's promo, known as "Chuck Is Chillin', was revolutionary for that time as it was created using individual word samples taken from various records and strung together to create a new lyric line. This style of sampling has since been copied numerous times both in radio promos as well as complete songs. Lewis went on to produce songs on Chuck Chillout and Cool Chip's album Rhythm is the Master and later produced the majority of songs for the Bronx artist known as Nine whose two albums, Nine Livez and Cloud 9, are widely sought-after. Lewis's production for Nine includes the songs "Whutcha Want?", "Any Emcee", "Lyin' King", and "Make or Take” (featuring Smoothe da Hustler), among others.

The Chill Out Zone was a long-running TV show which first appeared on MTV Europe in late 1993. Its main focus lied on ambient music, laidback house, trip hop, jungle and chillout trance and other forms of underground experimental music, both recent and classic. Although no longer scheduled on MTV Europe since August 2010, the show was still carried by a small number of localized MTV feeds across Europe every weekend in the early morning hours until 2017, typically on Saturday and/or Sunday between 02:00 and 06:00 a.m. CET. Throughout its entire history, the show always preserved its original format, consisting in a non-stop selection of experimental and rarely seen music videos.

The organizers have renamed a number of awards that cover generally the same umbrella electronic music genre for example between 1998 and 1999 they introduced a category for Ambient Experimental DJ in 2000 the previous nominees from the former category then appeared in a new category for Chillout DJ, this category was dropped and a new one introduced for Best Eclectic/Experimental DJ until 2002 again some of the previous DJ's appeared in this category this then ceased and a similar new category begins called Best Downtempo and Eclectic in 2008. The confusion in the naming process selected by the organizers also appeared to happen for the musics genres Bass, Break Beat, Drum & Bass and Trip Hop.

Aldo Lombardi, better known as Kemic-Al, is a Maltese psychedelic trance producer who mainly releases his music on Butterfly Records. Lombardi started to learn music at the age of 10, and when he was 16 he formed a ska-punk band named Gone Bonkers, which later changed its name to Dark Doings. Kemic-Al learned his music at young age by learning to play guitar Spanish flamenco, his love for the music varies from classical music, up to the dance music of today, in fact classical orchestral sounds often heard in his compositions. He is also working on several projects Dimension-Al is one of them, music for chillout music, movie soundtracks, advertising etc.

María del Mar Rodriguez Carnero of Chambao Chambao were a flamenco-electronic band originally from Málaga, Spain, known for a Flamenco Chill sound that fuses flamenco sounds and palos with electronic music. The name of the band is taken from an improvised form of beach tent that is constructed as a means of sheltering from the wind and sun. The three original members of Chambao were María del Mar Rodriguez Carnero (La Mari), Eduardo Casañ (El Edi) and Daniel Casañ (Dani). They made waves in the world music scene with their new brand of flamenco, called flamenco chill, which combined the passion and vocal style of traditional Andalusian flamenco with elements of electronica, specifically chillout.

Just prior to this event, Steve Roskilly had bought a run down ex farmhouse in Harare’s Greendale district, on a 1 hectare plot. The main house was converted to offices and PA storage, the cottage converted to 2 studios and a service area, and surroundings planted to provide a peaceful setting for some serious chillout for recording bands. With Kelly Rusike running the computer studio, a new face in the shape of Ex R.U.N.N. family bassist - Peter Muparutsa was brought in to run the 16 track analogue tape studio, doing all the record company business. As time went on, Isaac Chirwa, another long standing associate joined the team to assist Kelly Rusike.

Derrick first heard hip-hop when he was 11, in 1980. A few years later, in 1985 he became a rapper under the name Ricochet, together with his friend Tito Navedo, also known as Centipede, founded the duo "Ricochet And Centipede", which released the one single "Charlie Brown"/"Bogus Beat" in 1985. In 1986, the duo was joined by Aston Taylor and changed the name of the group to Dueces Wild. In total, the group released 3 singles: "Hard Is Hard" (1986), "He Writes His, I Write Mine" / "Kangol" (1987) and "Five Times The Rhymer" / "Duces Is Def" (1988) produced by DJ Chuck Chillout. Tito Navedo left the group in 1988, while Derrick and Aston Taylor remained.

Next, he took an interest in what he called the "English dark rock" of Siouxsie and the Banshees and Joy Division, while being a fan of David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Lou Reed. Brian Eno and Cluster were two of the electronic acts who inspired him the most. He cited among his favorite artists: Maurice Ravel for classical music, François de Roubaix for music soundtracks and Siouxsie and the Banshees for pop music.

The roots of Black Moon go back to Brooklyn's Bushwick High School, where Karim "5ft" Reid and Ewart "DJ Evil Dee" Dewgrade met and formed a group called Unique Image. The two later met a former backup dancer Kenyatte "Buckshot" Blake in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, and formed a friendship based on similar musical aspirations. The trio released their first single "Who Got the Props?" in 1992, which became an underground hit, peaking at number 86 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. With the help of DJ Chuck Chillout, the group singed a record deal with New York-based independent label Nervous Records, becaming the first hip hop act on then-house music-oriented record label.

The single was released as two packages, each running as a Beatport exclusive for two weeks. The first part was released on June 18, 2012 as a remix EP, and featured three club mixes: two in the style of trance by tyDi and Xtigma, and one electro house remix by Francis Prève. The second part followed on July 2, 2012, and featured seven tracks, including an electro house remix by Tristan Garner; a drumstep remix by Stratus; a chillout remix by Zetandel; a trance remix by Gabriel & Dresden; and the album version of the song, in addition to one radio edit for each of the latter two mixes. As the number of employees rose to more than 1,300 after the merger with AKB Bank and as they worked at five different locations in Mönchengladbach, a new corporate headquarter was built at Karmannsstraße in Mönchengladbach by mid-2007 at the address Santander-Platz 1. In the building planned by the architects Hentrich- Petschnigg & Partner, the employees of the Santander Consumer Bank AG are to work with the so-called New Work concept. Meeting rooms for larger groups or small rooms, so-called "think tanks", for 1 to 3 persons are used for communication as well as "chillout lounges" or coffee bars. Between 2013 and 2015, another complex of buildings was built on Madrider Straße in the Nordpark within sight of the Mönchengladbach stadium.

Breakpoint 2005 caused some sad moments to the demoscene when it was announced that the military depot was scheduled for condemnation by the German government, and the next edition was scheduled to be held in the city's gym in the middle of Bingen. A part of the visitors feared that the degrees of liberty which made Breakpoint so popular will be lost at the new location, including the symbolic bonfire. They were, however, proven wrong when the party turned out to be what most people stated as "the best demoparty ever". The limited nature of freedom was proven to be enough for sceners to use the surrounding outdoors area as a chillout zone, even having a bonfire (although not as grandiose as in previous years).

In January 2009, SanDisk introduced a Sansa music player with an MSRP of $99.99 that was bundled with a SlotRadio music card that included seven playlists: Alternative, Contemporary, Country, R&B;/Hip- Hop, Rock, Workout, and Chillout. SlotRadio gave consumers access to a large library of music but unlike individual MP3s that were purchased, the playlist was predetermined and the user had only the ability to skip songs forward, much like a radio or music streaming service Pandora, hence the name slot "Radio". He built his fame and expanded his name recognition via mixtapes that were bootlegged amongst his fans within the Tri-State area who recorded his radio show, and eventually worldwide with the Universal Zulu Nation and the Rock Steady Crew. His only full-time hired colleague for the station's other hip hop shows was fellow pioneering deejay Chuck Chillout. After over 11 years at KISS-FM, and the 1994 corporate sale from KISS-FM's parent company Summit Communications to rival Emmis Communications, and KISS- FM's re-branding to an "R&B; and Classic Soul" format, Red was transitioned to New York City's next arbiters of hip hop and R&B; Hot 97 in December 1994. He would deejay two timeslots called The Twelve O'Clock Old School At Noon Mix and The Five O'Clock Free Ride for the next seven years.

The label signings such as Juno Reactor, Total Eclipse, Koxbox, X-Dream, Eternal Basement, from in and around Europe, it set out to find other artists around the world, and showcased these finds on compilations, such Outside the Reactor (compiled with DJ Mike Maquire), The Trip Through Sound, Made On Earth and Signs of Life series (compiled in-house by Ghahary). It was one of the first labels of its genre to break the labeling of being just being trance, releasing breaks, dub, chillout, and electronica. The record label connected Blue Room Loudspeakers to the forefront of musical innovation through an assembled global roster of talented electronic music artists pushing the envelope with sound. Ghahary also directed and cultivated its unique visual imprint designing record covers, (initially with Think electric), adverts, posters merchandise and various collaborations with underground psychedelic artists.

Ed Wynne in 2007 Nodens Ictus began life in 1986 when Ozric Tentacles guitarist Ed Wynne and keyboardist Joie Hinton were asked by the promoters of the Crypt club in Deptford, South London, to produce an ambient set for the club's "chillout" room. Essentially Ozric Tentacles minus the guitar and rhythm section, Nodens Ictus explored ethereal, Tangerine Dream-like soundscapes using synths and samples, in contrast to the driving space-rock which characterised the sound of parent band. The limited-run, independent cassette-only album The Grove of Selves was issued in 1987 - sold initially at gigs and by mail order, it has subsequently become a rare and sought-after item of Ozric memorabilia. Existing as a side-project only, Nodens Ictus played semi-frequently throughout the late '80s and early '90s, often as a support act at Ozric shows.

Vale Festival '07 supported two charities, Kids for Kids and Action Aid, and raised over £30,000. Việt Tú is one of familiar faces of the Dedication Music Award with many nominations, including: 3 times in "Show of the Year" category (Sao Mai điểm hẹn in 2005, Con đường âm nhạc series in 2006, Hồ Ngọc Hà Live Concert in 2012), 1 time in “Album of the Year” category (Classic Meets Chillout, Phạm Thu Hà, 2013) and 2 times in "Series of the Year" category (Giai điệu tự hào in 2015 and Sao đại chiến in 2018).

Mandalay's second album Instinct was released in 2000 and co-produced with Andy Bradfield (Everything but the Girl, Future Sound of London, Björk) and Yoad Nevo (Jem). MK from The Guardian states, "Instinct draws inspiration from jazz and classical music to create resolutely elegant, affecting pop .... lush and expansive, Instinct's musical world is perfectly realised." The first single from this album, "Deep Love", was remixed by Nitin Sawhney - Mandalay went on to support Sawhney on his UK/London dates. Performances at Ibiza's chillout festivals followed including "Las Dallias" and "Dreamdaze" culminating in a headline performance at The Big Chill festival in the UK. In order to consolidate their position in the United States (where they were known mostly by hearsay and association), Mandalay released an America-only compilation album called Solace in 2001 which is also considered to be their debut album for the US. This comprised a mix of tracks from Empathy and Instinct (both previously unavailable in the US) and was packaged with an 11 track remix album with contributions from Wagon Christ, Alex Reece and Charlie May.

Alex Paterson began his music career in the 1980s as a roadie for the post-punk band Killing Joke before eventually leaving in 1986 to pursue his own musical interests. Influenced by the growing popularity of Chicago house music in Britain during the decade, shortly thereafter he began working with another ambient house pioneer, Jimmy Cauty, who had been involved in the Killing Joke side-project Brilliant with Paterson's childhood friend Youth. Paterson, Cauty and Youth also performed chillout DJ sets in Paul Oakenfold's Land of Oz night in the club Heaven. Paterson said of these events: Following success in the singles market with their releases as The Orb, including 1988's Tripping on Sunshine and the Kiss EP and A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules from the Centre of the Ultraworld, both released in 1989, Paterson and Cauty started work on the first Orb album but split in April 1990 due to disagreements about releasing The Orb's work on Cauty and Bill Drummond's record label KLF Communications.

Reverb administers the catalogues of Hydrogen Dukebox, Lifted Publishing and Second Skin, sub-publishes for AMV Talpa GMBH, French jazz houses Label Bleu & Label Indigo and has joint ventures with FastCrowd Music, BChannel and Big Music. Moby, 2009 With the explosive growth of computers, music technology and consequent reduction in the cost of equipment in the early 1990s, it became possible for a wider number of musicians to produce electronic music. Even though initially most of the electronic music was dance music, the genre developed in the 1990s as musicians started producing music which was not necessarily designed for the dance-floor but rather for home listening (later on referred to as "Electronica") and slower paced music which was played throughout chillout rooms—the relaxation sections of the clubs (later on referred to as "downtempo", "chill-out music" and "ambient music"). Since we don't really know what was the first electronic music computer generated track ever made, in the USA we can find in the intro of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" released in 1973, a fully completed music track using only computers and machines. At the same time, in Germany, Kraftwerk is recognised as the very first band creating music only with machines and computers.

With many experiences in organizing and directing music program, in 2011, Việt Tú decided to set up Dream Studio to produce high quality art programs. In addition to the personal show and customer events of many leading artists such as Tùng Dương, Trần Thu Hà, Phương Linh, Mỹ Tâm, Dream Studio is also the company taking over the series Không gian âm nhạc (Music Space) and management of many other names of Vietnamese music, including Phạm Thu Hà. Her debut album, Classic Meets Chillout, produced by Dream Studio was awarded for the "Album of the Year" and also nominated for "New Artist of the Year" in Dedication Music Award 2013. In 2013, Việt Tú became a theater director, with the establishment of Viet Theatre Company to promote Vietnamese culture to a large number of domestic and global tourists. The first show of Viet Theatre is the Tứ Phủ (Four Palaces), inspired by the Practices related to the Viet Beliefs in Mother Goddesses – an UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

Ryan Farish is an American artist, composer, songwriter, producer, and multi- instrumentist. Hailing from Norfolk, Virginia, and based in Los Angeles, California, Ryan is known for his downtempo electronica, chillout, and uplifting dance music.
