The independent variable, time, is broken down into months (represented by constantly changing rotational angle about the center point) and years (line colour that evolves as years pass). Hawkins explained that in his implementation, colours represent time: purple for early years, through blue, green to yellow for most recent years. He made the graphics in MATLAB and used the "viridis" colour scale, conscious of choosing a colour scale that makes the graphics legible to colour blind viewers.
The area was drained by making radial ditches from a single center point out to the extremities. The water flows to this center point and is then drained by sixteen vertical shafts located approximately apart from each other to an underground culvert which flows through the Malpas hill and under the Malpas Tunnel of the Canal du Midi. The resulting agricultural plots are triangular due to the radial lines extending from the center. The original hydraulic infrastructure used to drain the Étang is similar in design and construction to Arabic qanat, and may therefore trace its lineage to Al- Andalus or North Africa.
The Commission could not agree on several points of contention related to the Twelve Mile Circle. First, the Maryland Commissioners insisted that a circle must have a center point and they were not empowered to determine what the center point was. Second, the Maryland Commissioners insisted the circle should have a circumference of 12 miles, while the Pennsylvania Commissioners insisted it should have a radius of 12 miles. Lord Baltimore had also discovered the mapping error that resulted in Fenwick Island being used as the southernmost boundary point in the Articles of Agreement, rather than Cape Henlopen, and he protested this.

The waves travel down a horn as spherical wavefronts, with their origin at the apex of the horn, a point called the phase center. The pattern of electric and magnetic fields at the aperture plane at the mouth of the horn, which determines the radiation pattern, is a scaled-up reproduction of the fields in the waveguide. Because the wavefronts are spherical, the phase increases smoothly from the edges of the aperture plane to the center, because of the difference in length of the center point and the edge points from the apex point. The difference in phase between the center point and the edges is called the phase error.
Change of direction through a circle This change of direction is one of the more advanced, and is often asked when a rider wishes to change the direction of his circle, without losing the benefits of the bend. The rider starts on a 20-meter circle. When he wishes to change direction, which he may do so at any point on the circle, he performs a 10-meter half-circle, continuing in the same direction of travel, to the center point of his original circle. He then immediately performs a 10-meter circle in the opposite direction, from the center point back to the 20-meter circle.

At the turn of the 20th century Center Point was a thriving trade center and remained so until like so many communities in America it became the victim of progress as the emergence of new highways passed it by. Once again, on March 1, 1913, Center Point voted itself an incorporated city, appointed a mayor, city clerk, commissioners’ health officer, and then, in October of the same year, dissolved itself by a popular vote of the people. It remained unincorporated until the mid-1990s, when it was once again voted that incorporation was the way to go. Within less than two years, it was once again voted that the incorporation should be dissolved.
At each grade level, the scale center point of 500 was set to correspond to the mean of the overall achievement distribution, and 100 points on the scale was set to correspond to the standard deviation. Achievement data from subsequent TIMSS assessment cycles were linked to these scales so that increases or decreases in average achievement may be monitored across assessments. TIMSS uses the scale center point as a point of reference that remains constant from assessment to assessment”. Because TIMSS is administered in four-year cycles, it enables participating counties to use the results between the fourth and eighth grades to track the changes in achievement and certain background factors from an earlier study.

In geometry, the tetrakis square tiling is a tiling of the Euclidean plane. It is a square tiling with each square divided into four isosceles right triangles from the center point, forming an infinite arrangement of lines. It can also be formed by subdividing each square of a grid into two triangles by a diagonal, with the diagonals alternating in direction, or by overlaying two square grids, one rotated by 45 degrees from the other and scaled by a factor of √2. Conway calls it a kisquadrille,John H. Conway, Heidi Burgiel, Chaim Goodman-Strass, The Symmetries of Things 2008, (Chapter 21, Naming Archimedean and Catalan polyhedra and tilings, p288 table) represented by a kis operation that adds a center point and triangles to replace the faces of a square tiling (quadrille).
In geometry, a vertex arrangement is a set of points in space described by their relative positions. They can be described by their use in polytopes. For example, a square vertex arrangement is understood to mean four points in a plane, equal distance and angles from a center point. Two polytopes share the same vertex arrangement if they share the same 0-skeleton.

Robot Program: A robot communication program for IBM and compatible personal computers. Provides terminal emulation and utility functions. This program can record all of the user memory, and some of the system memory to disk files.
But in step 1 when moving {e} and all strings of the form an into S(a−1), do this to all orbits except one. Move {e} of this last orbit to the center point of the second ball. This brings the total down to 16 + 1 pieces. With more algebra, one can also decompose fixed orbits into 4 sets as in step 1.
A typical example of a floral diagram. The floral axis (receptacle) is the circle in the middle, surrounded by staminodes, petals, and sepals. The main axis is the circle at the top of the diagram Floral diagramming is a method used to graphically describe a flower. In the context of floral diagramming, the floral axis represents the center point around which the diagram is oriented.
It was the center point of conflict in the Yuma War of 1850–53. From 1864–1890, the fort and nearby facilities was the main army base to support the US Army's efforts to control the Indians throughout the greater southwest. At about the same time, the Butterfield Stage established a stagecoach station here for their main line coming from the east to California.

Continuing south, US 278 passes the Ebenezer Campground and has an officially designated exception with Highway 26 of at Center Point very near the Adam Boyd House.
A short road was built in the location of KY 212 when the U.S. Army Air Corps built the predecessor to the CVG Airport. The road was reconstructed to a divided highway in 1972, and has remained relatively unchanged since. The original KY 212 went southeast from KY 100 in Meshack southeast to Center Point. This road was decommissioned by 1972, and is now KY 2439.
It rotates around the ulna and the far end (where it joins to the bones of the hand), known as the styloid process of the radius, is the distance from the ulna (center of the circle) to the edge of the radius (the circle). The ulna acts as the center point to the circle because when the arm is rotated the ulna does not move.
An outbreak sequence of 10 tornadoes struck the US. It started with an early- morning F1 tornado west of Prescott Valley, Arizona on November 2 before the outbreak mostly focused on Texas. On November 3, an F2 tornado damaged Corral City. Another F2 tornado then grew to mile-wide and damaged Center Point and Northern Comfort. A third F2 tornado then struck Northern Bowie.

Counterclockwise rotations about the center point where a complete rotation is equal to 1 turn. A turn is a unit of plane angle measurement equal to 2 radians, 360 degrees or 400 gradians. A turn is also referred to as a cycle (abbreviated cyc), revolution (abbreviated rev), complete rotation (abbreviated rot) or full circle. Subdivisions of a turn include half turns, quarter turns, centiturns, milliturns, points, etc.
This album also featured more prominent usage of Matt Barlow's multi-layered vocals as a center point for the songs. There was a special limited-edition two-disc set. The second disc included the instrumental track, "Transylvania", an Iron Maiden cover, along with an interview with bandleader/rhythm guitarist Jon Schaffer. There is also a single-disc version with "Transylvania", but without the interview.
The tower has a height of about 4 meters, a square shape, a pyramid on, and looks like as an obelisk. The Tower is located in the center point of Iran coordinately. The movement system has been made in London by J. Smith & Sons Co. The spring should be charged weekly. Mirza Soroush obtained permission for, and supervised the construction of the Markar Plaza with gardens around it.
A geographic destination address is expressed in three ways: point, circle (with center point and radius), and polygon (a list of points, e.g., P(1), P(2), …, P(n–1), P(n)). A geographic router (Geo Router) calculates its service area (geographic area it serves) as the union of the geographic areas covered by the networks attached to it. This service area is approximated by a single closed polygon.
Law of symmetry The law of symmetry states that the mind perceives objects as being symmetrical and forming around a center point. It is perceptually pleasing to divide objects into an even number of symmetrical parts. Therefore, when two symmetrical elements are unconnected the mind perceptually connects them to form a coherent shape. Similarities between symmetrical objects increase the likelihood that objects are grouped to form a combined symmetrical object.
Quartet is a public art work by artist Celine Farrell located on the south side of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The painted steel sculpture consists of four panels radiating out from a center point. Each panel is painted a different color and has shapes cut out to represent the four seasons. It is located at West Windlake Avenue and West Lincoln Avenue west of Kosciuszko Park in the Lincoln Village neighborhood.
3-angle spirangle 4-angle spirangle 7-angle spirangle 70-angle spirangle In geometry, a spirangle is a figure related to a spiral. Spirangles are similar to spirals in that they expand from a center point as they grow larger, but they are made out of straight line segments, instead of curves. Spirangle vectographs are used in vision therapy to promote stereopsis and help resolve problems with hand–eye coordination.
It then struck the south side of Vinton before moving directly through Center Point and Alice. After crossing the Wapsipinicon River and striking the north side of Central City, it crossed Buffalo Creek, striking areas south of Prairiesburg. It was observed with a double funnel again as it passed by Monticello, one of four times this was reported during the tornadoes lifespan. The tornado dissipated shortly after that.
The dual to the cubic pyramid is an octahedral pyramid, seen as an octahedral base, and 8 regular tetrahedra meeting at an apex. :160px A cubic pyramid of height zero can be seen as a cube divided into 6 square pyramids along with the center point. These square pyramid-filled cubes can tessellate three-dimensional space as a dual of the truncated cubic honeycomb, called a hexakis cubic honeycomb, or pyramidille.
In September 2019, Hardy released a collaborative album titled Hixtape, Vol. 1, which featured a total of 17 artists including Thomas Rhett, Keith Urban, Tracy Lawrence, Jake Owen, Trace Adkins, Joe Diffie, Zakk Wylde, Cole Swindell, Dustin Lynch, and Morgan Wallen. The Tokugawa family kamon (crest) can be seen in the ends of the roof tiles, honoring their patronage of the temple. The colossal main gate, the Sanmon, was built in 1619 and is the largest surviving structure of its kind in Japan. It features an Irimoya-zukuri or a Hip and Gabled roof. The purpose of the hip and gable roof is to protect the center point of the temple.
A brahmasthan is a principle of Vedic architecture and community planning that designates the center point of a building or geographical area. Vedic architecture is based on Vastu Shastra. The brahmasthan is a special central zone in a building. It is free from any obstructions in the form of a wall, pillar or beam, furniture or fixtures and is often well lit from above, by skylights for instance.
According to Sundberg, he wanted to develop a game "where you could skydive onto the roof of a car and keep on going". The game was released in 2006 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360. Sundberg considered Just Cause to be the 'DNA' and 'center point of the studio', since it was the first game they developed. Following Just Cause, Avalanche began to provide technical assistance to theHunter.
Diagram showing all parts of a typical lockrod and its mounting hardwarePowerbrace invented the zero-torque lockrod concept that became an industry standard. The main benefit of the design is that the cam goes past the center point so that the more pressure that's applied from the inside of the trailer doors (such as when animal weight is shifted against the door) the tighter the cams and keepers engage.
A 45° truck is the center point, providing an equal ratio of lean to turn while also providing the most overall turn. A higher degree truck initiates a turn faster with less lean, but reduces the overall turn of the system. This is useful for riders seeking to maximize traction. A lower angle truck initiates a turn slower with more lean, and this results in less overall turn.
The Hudson Terraplane was dropped. For 1940 Hudson introduced coil spring independent front suspension, aircraft-style shock absorbers mounted within the front springs and true center-point steering on all its models, a major advance in performance among cars in this price range. The Super Six model was reintroduced as well. Despite all these changes, Hudson sales for 1940 were lower than 1939 and the company lost money again.
Philippa has participated in a series of charity fundraisers. In 2010, Philippa rode 100 miles of southwest England on sidesaddle and raised funds for the breast cancer charity, Too Many Women. Most Go is played on a board, but and are also popular sizes. Historically other board sizes were commonly used (notably , a predecessor of the board in ancient China). Go is also sometimes played on various novelty sized boards as small as and larger than . All board sizes have an odd number of lines to ensure that there is a center point, possibly to make mirror go a less attractive strategy.
52-54, 1967. RIF uses the Principle of Moments or Varignon’s Theorem to calculate the first factorial moment of probability in order to define this center point of balance among all confidence weights (i.e., the point of Risk Equilibration). The formal derivation of the RIF is divided into three separate calculations: (1) calculation of the first factorial moment, (2) calculation of inclination, and (3) calculation of the risk inclination score.
Recently, the Indian government has made Gates in Memory of martyrs of this village like Martyrs Balkar Singh Lalotra (Kargi war), Martyrs Shamsher Singh and Martyrs Parmod Dhiman and others who served the country. The village has a post office, banks, ATM facilities, and resorts (Coral and Jal Mahal). This was a Muslim-majority village pre-independence and there still remains from that era. There is center point of this village.
The work consists of four tall steel poles affixed with moving holographic arms. Each pole is 12 feet tall and has a six-foot arm on each side that swivels at the center point. The face of each arm is covered with a holographic decal that reflects light, color and motion as the arm moves. The work is oriented toward the Marquette Interchange a short distance from the entrance of the Haggerty Museum of Art.
Bow is the deviation of the center point of the median surface of a free, un-clamped wafer from the reference plane, where the reference plane is defined by . This definition is based on now obsolete ASTM F534. Warp is the difference between the maximum and the minimum distances of the median surface of a free, un-clamped wafer from the reference plane defined above. This definition follows ASTM F657, and ASTM F1390.
Many ballpoint and rollerball retractable pens employ this type of bistable mechanism. An even more common example of an over-center device is an ordinary electric wall switch. These switches are often designed to snap firmly into the "on" or "off" position once the toggle handle has been moved a certain distance past the center-point. A ratchet-and-pawl is an elaboration—a multi- stable "over center" system used to create irreversible motion.
104–105, #4–23. The sum of the squared lengths of any two perpendicular chords intersecting at a given point is the same as that of any other two perpendicular chords intersecting at the same point, and is given by 8r2 – 4p2 (where r is the circle's radius and p is the distance from the center point to the point of intersection).College Mathematics Journal 29(4), September 1998, p. 331, problem 635.
Doddridge County's oil and gas industry was an enormous boon to residents. The county's first oil pool, at Center Point, was discovered ("brought in" as it was then termed) and drilled in 1892. This was an extension of the technology and boom of the western Pennsylvania oil and gas fields into Tyler and Doddridge Counties. Many farm owners, and sons of farm owners, split their time between their farmwork and the petroleum operations.
She divorced him within two weeks, but kept her married name. She appears to have given up the practice of law at this time, moving to the Texas Hill Country sometime late in the 1920s or early in the 1930s. For a time she lived in Bandera, where she served as postmistress, and Center Point. She collaborated with friends on a number of writing projects, and engaged in travel and genealogical research.
The geographic data provided for these areas includes the latitude and longitude of the center-point of the ZCTAs. There are approximately 32,000 ZCTAs. The reason that there is not one ZCTA for every ZIP Code is that PO Boxes are excluded, since only populated areas are included in the Census data. The Census Bureau provides many statistical data sets for ZIP Codes, but does not keep up-to-date datasets of all ZCTAs.
If all of the forms (eighteen in all) are done in sequence, they form the pattern of a nine pointed star (eight outer points plus a center point) referred to as the Songahm Star. According to the ATA, when the outer points of the Songahm star are connected, they form a circle which exemplifies complete balance. The ATA teaches that forms create a contextual application for new material learned at each belt level.
Hexagonal columnar cooling joints at East Dam of High Island Reservoir Hexagona columar joints are parallel vertical cracks that are formed when homogeneous volcanic materials cool down and evenly contract inward towards a contraction center point. In the early Cretaceous period, there was a volcano centred east of the Sai Kung peninsula. The final eruption of the volcano was explosive and the magma chamber was emptied. It lost support in its core and collapsed.
The octopus (plural octopuses) is a soft-bodied, eight-limbed mollusc of the order Octopoda (, ). Around 300 species are recognised, and the order is grouped within the class Cephalopoda with squids, cuttlefish, and nautiloids. Like other cephalopods, the octopus is bilaterally symmetric with two eyes and a beak, with its mouth at the center point of the eight limbs. The soft body can rapidly alter its shape, enabling octopuses to squeeze through small gaps.
The well-preserved structure has a single span of 3.95 m, which is quite large for a false arch. The opening is cut from the unmortared limestone blocks in the shape of an isosceles triangle, the height of which is 1.84 m. The overall length of the bridge measures 9.35 m. Its width varies from 5.1 to 5.2 m, with the structure converging slightly towards its center point above the arch (5.05 m width there).
In Pennsylvania, Fussell developed a working relationship with local abolitionist Thomas Garrett. At that time, Fussell began sheltering fugitive slaves brought to his home from prior refuge with Garrett. Besides sheltering, he used his home, The Pines, to provide medical services to sick or injured runaway slaves. His home was approximately 1 mile east of the historical village of Kennett Square, which was a center point of the abolitionist movement in southeast Pennsylvania.
Early in its history, Cahokia underwent a massive construction boom. Along with the early phase of Monks Mound, an overarching urban layout was established at the site. It was built with a symbolic quadripartite worldview and oriented toward the four cardinal directions with the main east-west and north-south axes defined with Monks Mound near its center point. Four large plazas were established to the east, west, north, and south of Monks Mound.
Turning the actuator gradually stretches the spring. When the mechanism passes over the center point, the spring energy is released and the spring, rather than the actuator, drives the contacts rapidly and forcibly to the closed position with an audible "snapping" sound. This mechanism is safe, reliable, and durable, but produces a loud snap or click. in the United States, the toggle switch mechanism was almost entirely supplanted by "quiet switch" mechanisms.
Traditional surnames like Camp, Scott, Walker, Davis, and Downs are the names you see on mailboxes in this rural community. The area never grew large enough to justify a school system. But until the very early 70s, there was a small school called Center Point Junior High School. When built, the school housed classrooms for grades 1–9, but as time went on it was downgraded to grades 1-6 and eventually closed in 1976.
A 24/7 Accidents and Emergency department According to an estimate, its OUT PATIENT DEPARTMENT clinic sees above 5500 patients per day and the CASUALTY cases at the Accidents and Emergency department number more than 2500 or 3000 per day (as per 2018 data). In recent days Lady Reading Hospital has been the center point for providing prompt medical aid to the persons injured in the current bomb blasts in Peshawar city.
Center Point Road debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 with 76,000 album-equivalent units, of which 45,000 were pure album sales. It is Rhett's second US number-one album. In its first week it registered 33.59 million US streams, making it the largest streaming week ever for a country album. The album has sold 101,600 copies in pure albums the United States as of March 2020, and 362,000 in units consumed.
During World War II the park was devastated but the 22 busts and the monument of Jordan were saved by F. Łuczywo. After the war the area of the park was enlarged to , and the Society of Jordan’s Gardens reestablished. New playing fields and sport venues were added, including a toboggan slide, amphitheatre, and bicycle tracks. The center point of the park is a man-made pond, a place for group activities such as boat rowing and water bicycles.
The US Navy overcame this problem, to a point, by mounting long antennae on ships and sailing in circles. One solution to this problem was developed by the Marconi company in 1905. This consisted of a number of long horizontal wires or rods arranged to point outward from a common center point. A movable switch could connect opposite pairs of these wires to form a dipole, and by rotating the switch the operator could hunt for the strongest signal.
The triangle The Screen above the Triangle "The Triangle" is a region of center field where the walls form a triangle whose far corner is from home plate. That deep right-center point is conventionally given as the center field distance. The true center is unmarked, from home plate, to the left of "The Triangle" when viewed from home plate. There was once a smaller "triangle" at the left end of the bleachers in center field, posted as .
The risk inclination formula uses the principle of moments, or Varignon’s theorem, to calculate the first factorial moment of probability in order to define this center point of balance among all confidence weights (i.e., the point of risk equilibration). The formal derivation of the RIF is divided into three separate calculations: (1) calculation of 1st factorial moment, (2) calculation of inclination, and (3) calculation of the risk inclination score. The RIF , is a component of the risk inclination model.
Born Barbara Louise Smith, the youngest of five children, she was raised in Center Point near Pittsburg, Texas. She was interested in music from early childhood, performing with her siblings in their Baptist church. She entered the University of Texas at Austin in 1956 as one of the first class of African-American undergraduates. The following year, she was cast in the role of Dido, Queen of Carthage, in the student production of Dido and Aeneas.
Perumpillichira is a small village that comes under the Panchayat of Kumaramangalam in Idukki district in the Indian state of Kerala. The name ‘Perumpillichira’ comes from the name of a large water reservoir adjacent to a Hindu temple at the heart of the village. This temple is the center point of the village. At I-380, the mainline of Iowa 100 passes high above the interstate. Collector-distributor lanes (C-D lanes) for each highway intersect at an intermediate level between the highways. East of the volleyball interchange, the C-D lanes of Iowa 100 intersect Center Point Road NE before rejoining the mainline at the end of the highway. Continuing east, Iowa 100 passes the Collins Aerospace complex on the north and the studios for KGAN-TV on the south.
These mounds, at 60 m above sea level, are also the highest natural point in Malmö municipality. Oxie is first mentioned in written sources 1130 as Oshögha, believed to mean the mound by the spring. As the center point of the church municipality Oxie hundred, Oxie was also the seat of the hundred thing (Häradstinget), which was held every spring and autumn. Local names such as Tingbacken (Thing hill) and Tingdammen (Thing pond) indicate the location of the things.
166x166px For a wheel every figure skater must rotate around a common center point. There are many different formations that teams can form including a two to five spoke or a parallel wheel. Each spoke (line) of the wheel should be straight and the figure skaters should be leaning into the center of the wheel. The difficulty of the wheel can be increased by adding footwork, changing the rotational direction of the wheel, configuration of the wheel, or traveling.
The center point is a cross-type, which detects horizontal and vertical lines, while the outer four detect vertical lines only. Metering modes include a 16-zone evaluative, center-weighted average, partial, selectable spot, and fine central spot metering mode. Film speeds can be set from ISO 6-6400 either manually or automatically by DX codes on the film canisters. The camera allows variable Program autoexposure, as well as aperture-priority and shutter- priority automatic exposure and manual exposure.
83 4' E. This is the center point of Gorakhpur and Basti. It is the headquarters of this new district Sant Kabir Nagar. The town is small but has a history which can be traced back to Mughal emperors. The place got its name from its founder, Qazi Khalil-ur-Rahman, who was appointed chakladar of Gorakhpur about 1860 AD. At present this place is more famous for its handloom cloth market, popularly known as Bardahia Bazar.

A vector group indicates the configuration of the windings and the phase angle difference between them. If a winding is connected to earth (grounded), the earth connection point is usually the center point of a wye winding. If the secondary is a delta winding, the ground may be connected to a center tap on one winding (high leg delta) or one phase may be grounded (corner grounded delta). A special purpose polyphase transformer is the zigzag transformer.
If the radius is fixed, then the parameter space would be reduced to 2D (the position of the circle center). For each point (x, y) on the original circle, it can define a circle centered at (x, y) with radius R according to (1). The intersection point of all such circles in the parameter space would be corresponding to the center point of the original circle. 900px Consider 4 points on a circle in the original image (left).
The Direct Patient Logistics (DPL) transfer center is a division of Air Methods that coordinates transfers between hospitals and referring centers. It is the center point of coordination between all parties involved in the transfer process. AirCom is the dispatching/coordinating/and flight tracking division of Air Methods. It dispatches over 400 aircraft for Air Methods Corporation as well as dispatching and coordinating services for other agencies, including police departments, county departments, ambulance services, and other public service agencies.
The game's pitch is drawn as a rectangle on a grid, with small extended rectangles in the center of each of the two shortest sides to represent the two goals. The grid can be of any size, although both sides should be an even number of squares to allow a center point for kickoff. The goal areas are typically 2 × 1 squares in size. A "ball" is marked as a dot in the center of the pitch.
The McIntosh Presbyterian Church is an historic Carpenter Gothic style Presbyterian church located at 5825 Avenue F, corner of 7th Street, in McIntosh, Florida in the United States. The church has gabled sidewalls facing each street. Each of these sidewalls features a large triptych lancet window.
Xinjiang has within its borders, in the Dzoosotoyn Elisen Desert, the location in Eurasia that is furthest from the sea in any direction (a continental pole of inaccessibility): . It is at least (straight-line distance) from any coastline. In 1992, local geographers determined another point within Xinjiang in the southwestern suburbs of Ürümqi, Ürümqi Countyto be the "center point of Asia". A monument to this effect was then erected there and the site has become a local tourist attraction.
Each sculpture focused on one type of symmetry; often either vertical and/or horizontal. During the period when Miller was developing his style, he became interested and influenced by Taotie masks, which were often created in bronze. The ancient Chinese mask motifs were reflected in Miller's work, as many of Miller's works contain mask motifs. Another common design of the sculptures is that they included shapes, such as squares and circles, sharing the same center point.
Method using Carlyle circles The Carlyle circle was invented as a geometric method to find the roots of a quadratic equation. This methodology leads to a procedure for constructing a regular pentagon. The steps are as follows: # Draw a circle in which to inscribe the pentagon and mark the center point O. # Draw a horizontal line through the center of the circle. Mark the left intersection with the circle as point B. # Construct a vertical line through the center.
Circumscribed sphere of a cube In geometry, a circumscribed sphere of a polyhedron is a sphere that contains the polyhedron and touches each of the polyhedron's vertices.. The word circumsphere is sometimes used to mean the same thing.. As in the case of two-dimensional circumscribed circles, the radius of a sphere circumscribed around a polyhedron P is called the circumradius of P,. and the center point of this sphere is called the circumcenter of P..
Center Point Road is the fourth studio album by American country music singer Thomas Rhett, released on May 31, 2019, through Big Machine Records. It was supported by the lead single "Look What God Gave Her". Rhett co-wrote and co- produced all 16 tracks on the album, sharing production duties with Dann Huff, Jesse Frasure, Julian Bunetta, The Stereotypes, and Cleve Wilson. The Tri-Rivers Conference is a high school conference in eastern Iowa sponsoring athletic competition, as well as speech and music activities. Formed in 1967, the conference has enjoyed long-term stability while enduring periods of significant change over its 50-plus year history. With the return of Edgewood–Colesburg in 2017 (after a brief 4-year hiatus), all but one of the founding members were still conference members. (Center Point, following its merger with Urbana, simply out-grew its former competitors).
This one shape is the square, plus adding the two points touching any one of the corners. (Similar to the plus sign five, but add any of the four taken corner points to get the unsettled six). The opponent playing in the center point threatens to fill all but one spot with a bulky five shape, and there is no defense. Any group surrounding more than six points is alive, but it may be necessary to respond correctly if the opponent attacks.
The majority of Muslims, however, follow the great circle method. A retroazimuthal projection is any map projection which preserves the angular direction (the azimuth) of the great circle path from any point of the map to a point selected as the center of the map. The initial purpose of its development was to help finding the qibla, by choosing the Kaaba as the center point. The earliest surviving works using this projection were two astrolabe-shaped brass instruments created in 18th-century Iran.
Lorentzen has danced animpressive list of roles in the Opera Ballet. It is like a list of highlights in recent Norwegian scene dance. She was awarded the Critics prize for the title role in Månerenen by Birgit Cullberg (1981), an immensely demanding role with hefty leap in savagery and pain. In Volven (1989) by Kjersti Alveberg, a piece created over Norse creation myths, she was elevated and strong, sometimes almost motionless, yet the center point that the show revolved about.

The group experienced hardship over the next few months, including wet weather and a shortage of food.
The rapid rise covered a bridge on U.S. Route 281, north of San Antonio and prompted evacuations in a area near the flood plains. The overflowing river was responsible for ten total deaths in Kendall and Kerr Counties and submerging Comfort under seven feet of water, killing four people there. The towns of Welfare and Center Point were also reported to be flooded. In nearby Hunt, a group of military personnel who entered the region to assist with rescues got stranded themselves.
Mineral Springs is located in southern Howard County at (33.876358, -93.918599). Arkansas Highway 27 runs through the center of town, leading northeast to Nashville, the county seat, and west to Ben Lomond. Arkansas Highway 355 joins Highway 27 on Runnels Street through the center of Mineral Springs, but it leads north to Center Point and south to Tollette. According to the United States Census Bureau, Mineral Springs has a total area of , of which are land and , or 0.84%, are water.
Digital Equipment Corporation, 1989. While Marzullo's algorithm will return the smallest interval consistent with the largest number of sources, the returned interval does not necessarily include the center point (calculated offset) of all the sources in the intersection. The intersection algorithm returns an interval that includes that returned by Marzullo's algorithm but may be larger since it will include the center points. This larger interval allows using additional statistical data to select a point within the interval, reducing the jitter in repeated execution.
Lockers are usually either rectangular boxes or formed as triangles where the handlebars of the bicycle are on the wide side of the triangle. Bicycle lockers can support up to 2 bicycles by having a diagonal partition allowing for dual-sided access. Triangle wedged shaped lockers can also be combined to form a rectangular box with two individual lockers facing back to back. They can also be arranged in a circular pattern around a center point or fanning out from a corner.
He eagerly anticipated his graduation from the "Friendly School" in the spring of 1938. In 1940 Kirk graduated from Center Point High School in the east Texas town of Pittsburg, then attended Wiley College in Marshall, Texas. In 1942 he moved to Washington, D. C. and began studying political science to earn a B.A. and M.A. at Howard University. There he worked at a YMCA and as a switchboard operator for the university, where he met his future wife, Vivian Tramble.
Kernel density is a computer based analysis through the usage of geographic information systems employed for the purpose of measuring crime intensity. It takes the map of the area being studied as the basis for analysis then it proceeds to divide the total area or map into smaller grid cells. The size of those grid cells can be selected by the analyst accordingly to the research questions under study or the indented applications. Each cell grid has a center point.
These points lie in a close triangle about the Dzungarian Gate, a significant historical gateway to migration between the East and West. EPIA2 is located near a settlement called K̂as K̂îr Su in a region named K̂îzîlk̂um (قىزىلقۇم) in the , Burultokay County. Elsewhere in Xinjiang, the location in the southwestern suburbs of Ürümqi (Ürümqi County) was designated by local geography experts as the "center point of Asia" in 1992, and a monument to this effect was erected there in the 1990s.
The center point of the compass indicates constancy, the moving point which renders the circle is the labor. Plantin holds this instrument in portraits of him, such as the one commissioned from the Flemish painter Peter Paul Rubens. In November 1576, the Spaniards ruthlessly plundered and burned Antwerp — essentially ending its supremacy as the commercial center and richest city of Europe — and Plantin had to pay an exorbitant ransom to protect his printing works. He established a branch of his firm in Paris.
Unlike most other types of drill bits, they are not practical to use as hand tools. The bit includes a center point which guides it throughout the cut (and incidentally spoils the otherwise flat bottom of the hole). The cylindrical cutter around the perimeter shears the wood fibers at the edge of the bore, and also helps guide the bit into the material more precisely. The tool in the image has a total of two cutting edges in this cylinder.
The first camp meeting was established in the Center Point area in 1837, but was soon destroyed in windstorm. A second site, established in 1853, was destroyed by fire, and the camp was established at the present site thereafter. It was destroyed by Union Army forces in the American Civil War, the tabernacle was destroyed by wind in 1942, and four of the buildings burned in 1966. After each of these events the buildings affected were rebuilt using traditional frontier techniques.
The Navarre Beach Causeway, also called the Navarre Beach Bridge, is a concrete bridge in Navarre, Florida, connecting the beach and mainland sides of the community. The bridge travels over the Santa Rosa Sound, which in turn, is part of the Intracoastal Waterway. The bridge is currently owned and managed by Santa Rosa County, as part of the roads and bridges department. The bridge is a center point of the community and is included in the logos and symbols of many local businesses.
Adrian and Fritz formed a partnership and over the years developed several restaurants, the Hamburg Inns No. 1 and No. 2, the Big Ten Inn on Riverside Drive and the Airport Inn in Iowa City. They also had the Hamburg Inn No. 3 in Cedar Rapids on Center Point Road. Hamburg Inn No. 2 is the only location remaining of the three. Dave Panther, Fritz and Fran's son, bought the restaurant in 1979 from his parents and continued the tradition.
Other than refueling aircraft, no aircraft services would have been available. On 1 June 1945 the War Department issued a five-year permit to the U.S. Navy to operate the Site as "Outlying Field, Half Moon Bay". Half Moon Bay field became an outlying field for Naval Air Station Moffett Field, to furnish facilities for utility aircraft providing target towing service for the Anti-Aircraft Training Center, Point Montara, California. San Mateo County acquired the airport from the Navy in 1947.
This was the first direct and reliable measurement of the distance to a star other than the Sun. His measurement was published only shortly before similar parallax measurements of Vega by Friedrich Georg Wilhelm von Struve and Alpha Centauri by Thomas Henderson that same year. Bessel continued to make additional measurements at Königsberg, publishing a total of four complete observational runs, the last in 1868. The best of these placed the center point at 360.2 ±12.1 mas, made during observations in 1849.
My advice to young engineers: have a dream in life and try to realize that dream with hard work. Have a long-term ambition and short-term career goals, with the fire always burning in your mind". Bose established the foundation of University of Tennessee Power Electronics Program and built it to the center-point of the world. Dean of Engineering Wayne Davis comments, "He strengthened the program and paved the way for landing the National Science Foundation-backed CURENT program.
The formulas provided in this article produce discrete sequences, as if a continuous window function has been "sampled". (See an example at Kaiser window.) Window sequences for spectral analysis are either symmetric or 1-sample short of symmetric (called periodic, DFT-even, or DFT- symmetric). For instance, a true symmetric sequence, with its maximum at a single center-point, is generated by the MATLAB function `hann(9,'symmetric')`. Deleting the last sample produces a sequence identical to `hann(8,'periodic')`.
A four- bar linkage can be constructed from any point on the two perpendicular bisectors as the fixed pivots and A and B as the moving pivots. The point P is clearly special, because it is a hinge that allows pure rotational movement of A1B1 to A2B2. It is called the relative displacement pole. Three positions: If the designer specifies three task positions, then points A and B in the moving body are circling points each with a unique center point.
Optical discs are usually between 7.6 and 30 cm (3 to 12 in) in diameter, with 12 cm (4.75 in) being the most common size. The so-called program area that contains the data commonly starts 25 millimetres away from the center point. A typical disc is about 1.2 mm (0.05 in) thick, while the track pitch (distance from the center of one track to the center of the next) ranges from 1.6 μm (for CDs) to 320 nm (for Blu-ray discs).
Inboard brakes were usually found on exotic cars as a medhodnof reducing unstrung weight. For this light weight car it did tha and other benefits such as, this inward placement of the brakes allowed the steering ball joints to be located in the center line of the wheel. Referred to by Subaru as “center point steering” this virtually eliminated any steering reaction when one tire went through slush, water or an object. There was no wheel scrub on turning the wheel right or left.
The Ambisonics form, also based on Huygens' principle, gives an exact sound reconstruction at the central point; less accurate away from center point. There are many free and commercial software programs available for Ambisonics, which dominates most of the consumer market, especially musicians using electronic and computer music. Moreover, Ambisonics products are the standard in surround sound hardware sold by Meridian Audio. In its simplest form, Ambisonics consumes few resources, however this is not true for recent developments, such as Near Field Compensated Higher Order Ambisonics.
Vidal Valley is bordered by the Whipple Mountains on the northeast and the Riverside Mountains on the south. The valley drains mostly northwest-to-southeast, with its outfall into a southwest-flowing section of the Colorado River. The north of the valley is bordered on the west by the Turtle Mountains, and the south side of the Chemehuevi Valley. The center point of the valley, both east-west and north-south is at Vidal Junction located at U.S. Route 95 in California and California State Route 62.
In 1936 he completes the movie version of the Lovagias Ügy, which was the first to spark the opposition of the radical right-wing groups, that were starting a few years before. Protests, shouting "Down with Jewish movies" were held in Budapest, Pécs, Baja, and many premieres were disrupted. As historians believe, the growing number of such revolts were orchestrated from Germany. Kabos slowly becomes the center point of attacks, a condition that fills him with fear and despair, not only for himself, but for his family.
A third component of motion that occurs relatively infrequently involves the interaction of multiple tropical cyclones. When two cyclones approach one another, their centers will begin orbiting cyclonically about a point between the two systems. Depending on their separation distance and strength, the two vortices may simply orbit around one another or else may spiral into the center point and merge. When the two vortices are of unequal size, the larger vortex will tend to dominate the interaction, and the smaller vortex will orbit around it.
A way to make such a landscape is to employ the random midpoint displacement algorithm, in which a square is subdivided into four smaller equal squares and the center point is vertically offset by some random amount. The process is repeated on the four new squares, and so on, until the desired level of detail is reached. There are many fractal procedures (such as combining multiple octaves of Simplex noise) capable of creating terrain data, however, the term "fractal landscape" has become more generic over time.
His ideas on this subject were most fully developed in two volumes published in London before he left England. His greatest work, Bibelwerk für die Gemeinde, the first part of which was published in 1858, was intended to be completed in 1862. It had occupied his attention for nearly 30 years, as the grand center-point to which all his literary and intellectual energies were to be devoted, but he died before he could finish it. Three volumes of the Bibelwerk were published at his death.
The Cube of Space is an occult concept popularized by occultist Paul Foster Case. The Cube of Space associates the three axes of the cube, the center point of the cube, the six sides of the cube, and the twelve edges of the cube, with the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet. The Cube of Space is based upon two verses in the proto-kabbala text called the Sepher Yetzirah. One of those verses is in chapter 4 and the other verse is in chapter 5.
The town became a center point for shopping, trade, social events and festivals that brought many from afar. Some of the town's rich history of farming and mining is standing today. I would call them historic but not listed, as a building that is still standing on MO Hwy E also known as Main Street has the engraved carving of 1908 when the building had been built. Also to be noted is Duncan Mansion located on top on the bluff looking over the city.
The genesis of Sümi Naga tribe is also said to have its roots of existence in the Khezhakeno Village which is claimed to be the center point of Sümi history. According to sources, the Sümis (Lazami) and the Khezhakeno Village have confirmed the relation between the two villages, affirming the bygones and beyond 2000. According to the two villages' great forefathers’ version, one group of people led by a person named Khepiu had come to Khezhakeno Village from Makhel and thereupon the Naga generation began.
Vakhtang Rcheulishvili, his wife Maia Rcheulishvili, and sister-in-law Rusudan Kervalishvili, also the former parliamentary vice- speaker (2008–2012), are founders of the Center Point Group, Georgia's largest real estate developer and construction company. In the mid-2000s, the company became involved in a controversy for allegedly duping thousands of its clients. The anti-corruption watchdog Transparency International Georgia described the company's Ponzi scheme as Georgia's "biggest construction scandal". In 2013, embezzlement charges were filed against the company's owners—Maia Rcheulishvili and Rusudan Kervalishvili.
By the Gauss–Lucas theorem, the root of the double derivative must be the average of the two foci, which is the center point of the ellipse and the centroid of the triangle. In the special case that the triangle is equilateral (as happens, for instance, for the polynomial ) the inscribed ellipse degenerates to a circle, and the derivative of has a double root at the center of the circle. Conversely, if the derivative has a double root, then the triangle must be equilateral .
In the early twentieth century, nineteen of these were consolidated into two districts consisting of six schools, which were Salem, Lynn Creek, Center Point, Cliftonville, Cooksville-Paulette, Mashulaville, and Brooksville. The old Salem School was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. The Noxubee County Agricultural School at Mashulaville opened in 1910 and included a forty acre farm and provided living arrangements for up to 40 boarding students. The public school population is 1% white, compared to 27% of the county population.
Male characters also wear an X-like strap around the body called a '; it may be made of gold- colored silk or chains of gold with square ornaments, the latter being reserved for more important characters. Males wear the same ankle and wrist jewelry as females, but with the addition of an extra set of bangles on the wrist and no armlets. They also wear a kite-shaped ornament called a ' (named after the bo tree leaf), which serves as a center point for their ';.
Dorothy Shaver was born in Center Point, Arkansas, in Howard County, Arkansas, to Sallie Borden and James Shaver. Her paternal grandfather was Confederate officer Robert G. Shaver. When she was five years old, the family moved to Mena, Arkansas and James Shaver opened a law practice. The Shaver House has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1979. Shaver graduated from high school in 1910 at the age of 17 and she was chosen by her classmates to give the commencement address.
In the UK, Chrisp Street Market was the first pedestrian shopping area built with a road at the shop fronts. The first mall- type shopping precinct in Great Britain was built in the downtown area of Birmingham. Known as Bull Ring Centre (now Bull Ring, Birmingham), it was officially dedicated in May 1964. A notable example is the Halton Lea Shopping Centre (originally known as Shopping City) in Runcorn, which opened in 1972 and was conceived as the center point for the new town's development.
She was born in 1898 in Galveston, Texas,Axel Nissen's Accustomed to Her Face: Thirty-Five Character Actresses of Golden Age Hollywood gives her birthplace as Center Point, Texas. a daughter of Dr. John Brannum Haden (1871-1910) and character actress, Charlotte Walker, later active in silent films and early sound films. She always was cast in character roles. After their parents' divorce, Haden and her elder sister Beatrice Shelton Haden (born 1897) attended Sacred Heart Academy in Galveston, where they boarded during school terms.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of , of which is land and (0.9%) is covered by water. Randolph County is located in the center of North Carolina, and the city of Asheboro (in the county) is the center point of North Carolina. Randolph County is located in the Piedmont section of central North Carolina, a region of gently rolling hills and woodlands. However, the central and western parts of the county contain the Uwharrie Mountains and the Caraway Mountains.
All of these estimates, like earlier attempts by others, retained inaccuracies greater than the measurements. When Joseph von Fraunhofer invented a new type of heliometer, Bessel carried out another set of measurements using this device in 1837 and 1838 at Königsberg. He published his findings in 1838 with a value of 369.0±19.1 mas to A and 260.5±18.8 to B, and estimated the center point to be at 313.6±13.6. This corresponds to a distance of about 600,000 astronomical units, or about 10.4 light-years.
She taught cookery for over four decades and became an expert on the history, culture and science of regional and local Indian cuisine. Her signature style of detailed recipes and precise methods were applied to dishes for all occasions including family meals, dinner parties, and celebratory feasts. In 1961, she penned what went on to become her enduring legacy to India’s culinary heritage, Mrs. Balbir Singh’s Indian Cookery, an internationally-acclaimed book which quickly became the center point of authentic Indian cooking for subsequent generations of homemakers and chefs alike.
The Tri-Rivers first season of athletic competition was 1967–68. The new conference included 5 teams from the former All-Ac that represented 8 of the 13 teams that had played basketball together since at least the late 1920s: Alburnett (and Toddville), Central City, Center Point, North Linn (Coggon, Troy Mills and Walker) and Springville. East Buchanan (Winthrop) returned to join its former All-Ac competitors following a 5-year hiatus in the Upper Mississippi League. Coming with East Buchanan from the Upper Mississippi was Edgewood–Colesburg and Maquoketa Valley (Delhi).
In Hinduism, a basic mandala, also called a yantra, takes the form of a square with four gates containing a circle with a center point. Each gate is in the general shape of a T.Kheper,The Buddhist Mandala – Sacred Geometry and Art Mandalas often have radial balance. A yantra is similar to a mandala, usually smaller and using a more limited colour palette. It may be a two- or three-dimensional geometric composition used in sadhanas, puja or meditative rituals, and may incorporate a mantra into its design.
NGC 3923 Elliptical Shell Galaxy (Hubble photograph) A shell galaxy is a type of elliptical galaxy where the stars in the galaxy's halo are arranged in concentric shells. About one-tenth of elliptical galaxies have a shell-like structure, which has never been observed in spiral galaxies. The shell-like structures are thought to develop when a larger galaxy absorbs a smaller companion galaxy. As the two galaxy centers approach, the centers start to oscillate around a center point, the oscillation creates gravitational ripples forming the shells of stars, similar to ripples spreading on water.
Some trikes use a geometry (also called center point steering) with the kingpin axis intersecting the ground directly ahead of the tire contact point, producing a normal amount of trail. This arrangement, elsewhere called "zero scrub radius" is used to mitigate the effects of one-sided braking on steering. While zero scrub can reduce steering feel and increase wandering it can also protect novices from spinning out and/or flipping. Tadpole trikes tend also to use Ackermann steering geometry, perhaps with both front brakes operated by the stronger hand.
The last version was released in 1992 as a f/4.5 - f/5.6 USM version. On several recent high-end Canon EOS bodies, including the EOS 7D Mark II, EOS 5D Mark III and EOS-1D X, the f/4.5–5.6 versions of this lens are treated for the purpose of autofocus as if they were f/8 lenses, limiting AF functionality to the center point (and surrounding four points if AF Point Expansion is enabled) only. They are the only lenses without an extender attached that are treated this way.
For the first point of any game, the server stands to the right of the center point of the baseline and serves diagonally across the net to the left side (from the server's perspective) of the court, into the service box which extends to the service line about midway into the opponent's court. For the second point of the game, the serve is diagonally from the left to the right side of the court, and for each subsequent point of the same game the positioning is the opposite of that on the previous point.
In 2010 the Suzanne Dellal Centre was awarded the Israel Prize, the country's most prestigious prize and highest honour. In the years since its founding, the Centre is responsible for putting Israeli dance on the map. It has been the launching point for many Israeli choreographers and festivals. Today, as the dance ecosystem of Israel continues to grow and flourish, Suzanne Dellal Centre remains a center point of the scene, presenting and producing hundreds of performances each year, hosting festivals and programs which offer opportunities for dance artists in all stages of development.
Horand became the center-point of the breeding programs and was bred with dogs belonging to other society members that displayed desirable traits and with dogs from Thuringia, Franconia and Wurttemberg. Fathering many pups, Horand's most successful was Hektor von Schwaben. Hektor was inbred with another of Horand's offspring and produced Heinz von Starkenburg, Beowulf and Pilot, who later fathered a total of eighty-four pups, mostly through being inbred with Hektor's other offspring. This inbreeding was deemed necessary in order to fix the traits being sought in the breed.
A center point of the Dialectic of Enlightenment is the topic of "the Enlightenment as the deception of the masses". The term "culture industry" is intended to refer to the commercial marketing of culture, the branch of industry that deals specifically with the production of culture that is in contrast to "authentic culture". Horkheimer and Adorno contend that industrially produced culture robs people of their imagination and takes over their thinking for them. The culture industry delivers the "goods" so that the people then only have left the task of consuming them.
A counterclockwise rotation of more than one complete turn is normally measured modulo 360°, meaning that 360° is subtracted off as many times as possible to leave a non-negative measurement less than 360°. For example, the carts on a Ferris wheel move along a circle around the center point of that circle. If a cart moves around the wheel once, the angle of rotation is 360°. If the cart was stuck halfway, at the top of the wheel, at that point its angle of rotation was only 180°.
He was awarded the King's Medal of Merit in 1997 for his volunteer work. In 2007 a bust of him was introduced at the area informally known as "Plata" (The Platter) in downtown Oslo, the city's center point for heroin and illegal drugs trade for several years. Skarpsno was present at the introduction and he urged the general population to do more for other people. Having taken a blood test in May 2006, it became clear that he had cancer, and he was admitted to the Akershus University Hospital in November the same year.
The nearby construction of the BTS Skytrain at that time also caused traffic jams that drove customers to other shopping districts. To combat this issue, Chulalongkorn University intiated a project of turning Siam Square into a center of technology and development, with many improvements to the area in 1999 and 2000. One such development was relocating the parking lot behind the Lido cinema to the Witthayakit Building, opening up the space for outside companies to invest in developing the area, which became known as "Center Point" and served as a center of recreation for teenagers.
The initial motivation for the introduction of the polar system was the study of circular and orbital motion. Polar coordinates are most appropriate in any context where the phenomenon being considered is inherently tied to direction and length from a center point in a plane, such as spirals. Planar physical systems with bodies moving around a central point, or phenomena originating from a central point, are often simpler and more intuitive to model using polar coordinates. The polar coordinate system is extended to three dimensions in two ways: the cylindrical and spherical coordinate systems.
White was appointed as the first judge serving Virginia's tenth judicial district, which was composed of five counties, including Hampshire County. Winchester was chosen by an act of the Virginia General Assembly as the "center point" of this judicial district, where all judicial records were kept. His appointment as a judge of the tenth judicial district paid a meager compensation of 1,600 dollars per annum. White was then appointed a judge of the General Court of Virginia on November 16, 1793, and he continued to hold that office until his death in 1831.
Stereo triangulation is an application of stereophotogrammetry where the depth data of the pixels are determined from data acquired using a stereo or multiple-camera setup system. This way it is possible to determine the depth to points in the scene, for example, from the center point of the line between their focal points. In order to solve the depth measurement problem using a stereo camera system it is necessary to first find corresponding points in the different images. Solving the correspondence problem is one of the main problems when using this type of technique.
Carl Theodore Boles (born October 31, 1934 in Center Point, Arkansas) is a retired American professional baseball player whose career included seven years in minor league baseball, six in Japan, and a 19-game trial in the Major Leagues for the San Francisco Giants. He threw and batted right-handed, stood tall and weighed . He attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (then known as Arkansas AM&N;). Boles was 27 years old and hitting .337 with 18 home runs in the Double-A Texas League when the Giants recalled him in August 1962.
Although reactive power has primarily been supplied along with real power by the steam turbines and motor generators of the system, the PRR briefly used two synchronous condensers. Shortly after commissioning the 1915 electrification, the railroad discovered that the 44 kV feeders and large inductive loads on the system were causing significant voltage sag. The supplying electric utility (Philadelphia Electric) also discovered that power factor correction was needed. In 1917, the PRR installed two 11 kV, 4.5 MVA synchronous converters at , the approximate center point of the system load.
Starting from the center point, the line is extended to three points per turn. The line can touch occupied points and cross existing lines (there are no bounce moves) but cannot move along an existing line. If a player has no place to extend the line, the computer repositions the ball on the nearest unblocked point. This can be favourable when executed properly, as the ball is usually moved depending on the last direction of the line before it became blocked, and can be used to maneuver closer to the opponent's goal.
Dial test indicators, whose tips swing in an arc rather than plunging linearly, usually have spherical tips. This shape gives point contact, allowing for consistent measurements as the tip moves through its arc (via consistent offset distance from ball surface to center point, regardless of ball contact angle with the measured surface). Several spherical diameters are commercially offered; 1mm, 2mm, and 3mm are the standard sizes. Despite the advantage just mentioned (regarding contact angle irrelevance) of the ball (sphere) itself, the contact angle of the lever overall does matter.
The Pabst was the original of the current Milwaukee theaters, and is a focal point of the city's theater district. With the exception of the nearby Milwaukee Theatre and the Riverside, all of downtown's major theaters are concentrated near the middle of North Water Street. Among them are the Milwaukee Repertory Theater, the Pabst, and the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. Although the Pabst is the center point of the district, the Marcus Center is the most active, housing four major theater venues and seven resident performing arts groups, like First Stage Children's Theater.
The legs are slender and attached to the long prothorax, with all the legs showing distinct apical spurs on the tibia. The long forewings are a hyaline with a brown pterostigma and brown venation, but no color patterning. There are small trichosors present along the apical rear edges of the forewings, but unlike the modern genus Gumilla, nygmata are not present on any of the wings. The Rs vein of all four wings have six distinct branches and the positioning of the first branch is near the center point of the wing.
Diagram of the Fujiwhara effect, showing how 2 tropical cyclones interact with each other. When cyclones are in proximity of one another, their centers will circle each other cyclonically (counter-clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere) about a point between the two systems due to their cyclonic wind circulations. The two vortices will be attracted to each other, and eventually spiral into the center point and merge. It has not been agreed upon whether this is due to the divergent portion of the wind or vorticity advection.
The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally approved for the 7th Transportation Command on 3 Apr 1967. As an exception to policy requested by then Group Commander Colonel Edward T. Fortunato, on 1 Mar 1984 the insignia was authorized for wear by personnel of the 7th Transportation Group. It consists of a brick red shield within a golden yellow border, issuing from the center point throughout seven golden yellow rays surmounted by a blue chess-rook. The rays issuing from the center of the shield refer to the receiving and dispersal of personnel and cargo.
The freeway leaves Cedar Rapids and enters Hiawatha, where there is only one interchange, a diamond with Boyson Road. Quickly escaping the Cedar Rapids area, I-380 turns to the northwest and passes through predominantly rural areas with small communities and farms dotting the way. Because of its northwestern angle, I-380 enters four counties within , as counties in Iowa are generally rectangular in shape. It passes Center Point in northwestern Linn County, Urbana in northeastern Benton County, where it meets Iowa 150, and Brandon in southwestern Buchanan County.
The Concert Hall Park forms a center-point between some of the most prominent buildings in the city, the ARoS Aarhus Art Museum, Vester Allé Barracks, the concert halls, and Aarhus City Hall in view behind the City Hall Park across Frederiks Allé. The Concert Hall Park was designed by the landscape architect Sven Hansen as a parterre garden, and it was established in the 1980s. The Concert Hall Park is divided geographically in two separate sections. The main section between Frederiks Allé and the Concert Hall entrances is designed as a parterre garden.
He redecorates his apartment and makes arrangements with Pohl's grandmother to surprise Pohl when she returns to him. Several days after her return, Pohl leaves again for the U.S. and Sieveking travels to MERU, Holland for TM's 2008 Guru Purnima celebration and conference. Sieveking attends a presentation on the construction of a campus in the Brahmasthan (center point) of India, designed for 8,000 pandits who will recite vedic chants. At a meeting with Tony Nader, the new TM movement leader, another movement leader expresses dissent and Sieveking is told to stop filming.
The Messel lake bed was probably a center point for drainage from nearby rivers and creeks. The Tremont Lumber company founded Eros, in the early 20th century. Mrs. Mary Collins, née Nash (wife of Samuel Collins) suggested that the sawmill boomtown be named after the 433 Eros Asteroid (discovered in 1898). Eros served as a center point for a number of small surrounding communities, such as Hog Hair, Jumping Vernon, Indian Village, Salem Guyton, Flat Creek, Head Settlement, Vernon, Fuller Town, and Bug Tussle. Most children in these communities were sent to study at the Eros school, and citizens would normally receive their mail through rural mail coming from Eros.
The distance between the center point of the instrument and the plate to be measured must be the same distance as the focal length of the telescope that was used to take the photos (in the case of Gill's photos: . By rotating the right axis (B) the researcher can aim the lens at a star of interest. The researcher can read the position of the star on the wheel (D) below the right axis (B). Similarly, parts A and C can be used to determine the right ascension.
In January 1951, 8 schools, Alburnett, Center Point, Central City, Palo, Toddville, Troy Mills, Viola and Walker, joined together to form what was tentatively named the Upper Linn basketball league. Coggon and Springville attended the meeting but decided not to join, while Lisbon was already affiliated with the Wapsi-Eight league, Mt. Vernon was affiliated with the Eastern Iowa league, and Ely was no longer a high school. Ultimately renamed simply the Linn County league, the new league would begin play in 1951–52."Linn Schools For [sic] 8-Team Cage Loop", Cedar Rapids Gazette, Cedar Rapids, January 8, 1951.
Capehart's career in the music industry made him wealthy and provided a path to the national political stage. Being the center-point for a Republican Party revolution in Indiana and the Midwest, mainly by sponsoring a huge "Cornfield-Conference" on one of his farms in 1938.Indiana Public Media. The Great Cornfield ConferenceRalph D. Gray, Indiana History: A Book of Readings (1994), p. 335-341. Capehart was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1944, narrowly defeating Henry Schricker, going on to win subsequent victories in 1950 against Alexander M. Campbell and in 1956 against Claude R. Wickard.
The arbelos is defined by two circles, CU and CV, which are tangent at the point A and where CU is enclosed by CV. Let the radii of these two circles be denoted as rU and rV, respectively, and let their respective centers be the points U and V. The Pappus chain consists of the circles in the shaded grey region, which are externally tangent to CU (the inner circle) and internally tangent to CV (the outer circle). Let the radius, diameter and center point of the nth circle of the Pappus chain be denoted as rn, dn and Pn, respectively.
Since the establishment of local High School in 2039 B.S, Balankha has been a Center point of this region for political and educational activities for a long time. However growth did not happen as expected due to the long political instability and desertion of local youths to cities and foreign lands for better opportunities. Now connected with road network coupled with political stability and other local development activities, the potential growth of this town is higher. The recent change of local body and election conducted in August 2017, is expected to boost the development effort to new level.
Cuboctahedron. The ideal color solid with points all at an equal distance from a center point is a sphere - however a collection of spheres can not be packed to form a larger solid without gaps. The geometry that the OSA finally chose is a rhombohedral lattice based on a cuboctahedron. Each of the 12 vertices of this solid are equal distance from the center, as well as from each of their neighbors. The last step to completing this geometry was in a rescaling of the vertical L axis, in order to achieve integer coordinate locations for color description.
Native American hunters and early settlers were drawn to present-day Centerton by natural springs, including what is now known as McKissick Spring. In the Antebellum South era, an early church and school built along the spring were named Center Point, for the community's central location in Benton County. Though the area did not see any formal action during the Civil War, Union troops camped at McKissick Spring on March 5, 1862, shortly before the Battle of Pea Ridge. After the Reconstruction era, the Arkansas-Oklahoma Railroad Company connected Rogers, Arkansas and Grove, Oklahoma through western Benton County.
Following the war, the village's prospects improved, industry and settlement picked up, and the town was officially incorporated as Nashville on 18 October 1883, with D.A. Hutchinson serving as the first mayor. Womack is attributed with first proposing the name and called the town after Nashville, Tennessee. The following year, Nashville and Hope were connected via railroad, spurring further growth, and the county seat was relocated from Center Point to Nashville. With the establishment of county government in the town, and due to the increased trade and access brought by the railroad, Nashville continued to grow.
The open concept formula quickly proved to be a very ineffective method for operating a school. By the fourth year of operation, semi walls had been built to separate the classes from each other and the library. Very soon thereafter, permanent walls were erected. Similarly, the school office was situated in an open area in the main hallway near the center point of the school. By 1980 it too had walls erected. In 1996, the school's administrative offices were moved to reclaimed classroom space at the front entrance of the school thus providing much needed administrative space and enhancing security for students.
A real circle, defined by its center point (x0,y0) and radius r (all three of which are real numbers) may be described as the set of real solutions to the equation :(x-x_0)^2+(y-y_0)^2=r^2. Converting this into a homogeneous equation and taking the set of all complex-number solutions gives the complexification of the circle. The two circular points have their name because they lie on the complexification of every real circle. More generally, both points satisfy the homogeneous equations of the type :Ax^2 + Ay^2 + 2B_1xz + 2B_2yz - Cz^2 = 0.
Kyauktada Township ( ) is the center of downtown Yangon, Myanmar. The township consists of nine wards, and shares borders with Botataung Township in the east, Seikkan Township and Yangon River in the south, Pabedan Township in the west and Mingala Taungnyunt Township in the north. The township is home to many historic buildings, including the Sule Pagoda, the City Hall, the High Court Building, the Strand Hotel as well as embassies of the UK and India. Three of the tallest buildings in Yangon, the Traders Hotel (now Sule Shangri- La), the Sakura Tower, and the Center Point Tower are located in Kyauktada.
Hollywood-style Lindy Hop is sometimes referred to as Dean Collins or Smooth-style, but these terms also sometimes refer to different styles of Lindy Hop. Hollywood is the style reconstructed by Erik Robison and Sylvia Skylar based on movies from 1930s and 1940s featuring dancers like Dean Collins, Jewel McGowan, Jean Veloz and others. They were the first to call it "Hollywood Style". The swingout (the basic step of Lindy) is danced in a position often described as someone about to sit on a stool, thereby bringing their center point of balance closer to the ground.
Traditionally, the players have been introduced in the following order: small forward, power forward, center, point guard, shooting guard. During the championship era, Scottie Pippen was usually the first (or second after Horace Grant) Bulls player introduced, and Michael Jordan the last. (Pippen and Jordan are the only players to play on all six Bulls championship teams.) More recently with Derrick Rose's arrival, the guards have been reversed in order, making the Chicago-bred point guard the last player introduced. Although internal disputes eventually led to the dismissal of Clay, the Bulls in 2006 announced the return of Tommy Edwards as the announcer.
The measuring tape is carefully straightened to the shortest distance between the point and the line. To accomplish this, the tape must be perfectly perpendicular to the take off line in jumps, or is pulled through the center point of the arc for throws. The officials at the landing end of the tape have the zero, while the officials at the point of initiation measure and record the length. Whenever a record (or potential record) occurs, that measurement is taken (again) with a steel tape, and observed by at least three officials (plus usually the meet referee).
The City of Brunswick and its four barrier islands are located on the south Georgia coast, about midway between Savannah and Jacksonville. The islands lie between the Altamaha River delta to the north and the Satilla River to the south. This location is the center point of the Georgia Bight, the inward curve of the east coast that stretches from Cape Fear, North Carolina to Cape Canaveral, Florida. The resulting funnel effect on incoming tides in this region creates a more extreme tidal swing than elsewhere on the U.S. coast, ranging from six to ten feet.
Satellite rings and gaps in the rings are named for scientists who have studied these features; drawings that show these names are also included in the pertinent Transactions volume. Names for atmospheric features are informal at present; a formal system will be chosen in the future. The boundaries of many large features (such as terrae, regiones, planitiae and plana) are not topographically or geomorphically distinct; the coordinates of these features are identified from an arbitrarily chosen center point. Boundaries (and thus coordinates) may be determined more accurately from geochemical and geophysical data obtained by future missions.
When Washington Territory was split from the Oregon Territory in 1853, the new territory's statutes did not preclude African Americans from owning land, and the Cochrans sold their land to him for $6000. George cared for his adoptive parents the rest of their lives, and later married newly divorced Mary Jane Cain Cooness, helping raise her son, Stacey. Anticipating the arrival of the Northern Pacific railroad in 1872, Washington saw visions of a town on the southeast corner of his land. Saying that it is the center point between Kalama and Tacoma and so forth named it the city of Centerville.
Traveling is difficult because a lot of the time teams will get called for "assisting the travel" which occurs when a team member (usually towards the center) is doing footwork that is not around the center point that is being traveled, but rather they cut through it on a straight path and stop the flow of rotation in an effort to gain more distance up the ice. More often than not, assisting the travel can be spotted because a) a team member will look out of place and b) the wheel will whip or be very jerky in movement.
Asheboro is located at (35.715211, -79.813001). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , of which, of it is land and of it (0.58%) is water. Asheboro is known as the center point of NC. Although Asheboro is located in the gently rolling Piedmont plateau region of central North Carolina, far to the east of the Appalachian Mountains, the town and surrounding area are surprisingly hilly. The town lies within the Uwharrie Mountains, an ancient series of ridges and monadnocks which have been worn down by erosion to high hills.
VAQ-34, Call sign Flashbacks, was a Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron of the U.S. Navy. It was established on 1 March 1983 at the Pacific Missile Test Center, Point Mugu, California, under the Fleet Electronic Warfare Support Group. The squadron was formed to provide realistic training for ship crews to counter Soviet electronic and cruise-missile threats, and was modeled after its East Coast counterpart, VAQ-33. The squadron's activities included support of major fleet exercises, including training in antiair warfare, electronic countermeasures and electronic counter-counter-measures, electronic surveillance, electronic emissions control, and training in the face of simulated missile attacks.
Von Stephanitz disagreed with the Phylax Society's desire to breed dogs for their physical appearance and commercial value, stating that commercial breeders tended to breed "the fancy dog" for monetary gain while neglecting the health and betterment of the breed, and preferred amateur breeders who bred for intelligence and working value. Upon purchasing the dog, he immediately formed the Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde (Society for German Shepherd Dogs). Von Stephanitz admired the dog for its "obedient fidelity to [its] master." Von Stephanitz changed Hektor's name to Horand von Grafrath and included him as the center-point of the society's breeding programs.
The goal is to remove all incoming marbles by rearranging their order and making triplets or quartets of the same color. The game features 23 levels and is reportedly harder than the original Zuma. In each of the levels there are some special items, for example marked balls that explode more than just the normal three balls. Unlike Zuma, where the player shoots new balls from a center point, in Zaz the player moves a grabber on a separate track on the playfield to grab a ball that can then be shot back at a new location.
Though Coffeyville is the largest city in Montgomery County, the county seat is Independence, northwest of the city. Coffeyville, specifically a spot just north of Coffeyville Country Club, is the default center starting point of Google Maps, being the accidental center point of the default starting map being displayed, which shows the 48 contiguous United States. (Lawrence, Kansas also claims to be the Google center as it has been the default mid point of the interactive 3D map Google Earth). Other locations that are considered to be the geographic center of the contiguous United States are also in Kansas.
They then go through Lone Oak before meandering down a mountainside and entering a valley in Center Point, where they intersect SR 283. US 127/SR 8 then enter Dunlap and have an intersection with SR 28, which becomes the unsigned companion route of US 127. They go north through downtown before coming to an interchange with SR 111, where SR 8 separates from US 127/SR 28 and follows that route, becoming signed for the first time as a primary highway. SR 111/SR 8 leave Dunlap and wind their way through a narrow valley to Cagle and have an intersection with SR 399.
After the death of Al-Ghazali, it is believed there followed a long era in which there was a notable absence of Islamic philosophers, contributing to the status of Ghazali in the modern era. The staple of his religious philosophy was arguing that the creator was the center point of all human life that played a direct role in all world affairs. Al- Ghazali's influence was not limited to Islam, but in fact his works were widely circulated among Christian and Hebrew scholars and philosophers. Some of the more notable philosophers and scholars in the west include David Hume, Dante, and St. Thomas Aquinas.
Image of a thunderstorm line (in dBZ) seen on a 0.7-degree elevation PPI (NOAA) Diagram showing the evolution of the height above ground, in kilometers, with the distance to the radar for the 24 PPI angles used on the Canadian weather radars (curved lines) A plan position indicator (PPI) is a type of radar display that represents the radar antenna in the center of the display, with the distance from it and height above ground drawn as concentric circles. As the radar antenna rotates, a radial trace on the PPI sweeps in unison with it about the center point. It is the most common type of radar display.
Forstner bit Another Forstner bit Forstner bits, named after their inventor, Benjamin Forstner, bore precise, flat-bottomed holes in wood, in any orientation with respect to the wood grain. They can cut on the edge of a block of wood, and can cut overlapping holes; for such applications they are normally used in drill presses or lathes rather than in hand-held electric drills. Because of the flat bottom of the hole, they are useful for drilling through veneer already glued to add an inlay. The bit includes a center point which guides it throughout the cut (and incidentally spoils the otherwise flat bottom of the hole).
The service from Trondheim to Steinkjer had ten daily round trips. While local trains had existed previously north of Trondheim, the services south to Oppdal were all new in an area which was previously only served by intercity and night trains. The initial services consisted of four services from Trondheim—northwards along the Nordland Line to Steinkjer, east along the Meråker Line to Storlien, south along the Dovre Line to Oppdal and south-east along the Røros Line to Tynset. Trondheim Central Station was upgraded in 1995 and acts as the center-point of the commuter rail After six months operation, the service had experienced a 40% traffic increase.
If a function f represents an unknown density, then the Radon transform represents the projection data obtained as the output of a tomographic scan. Hence the inverse of the Radon transform can be used to reconstruct the original density from the projection data, and thus it forms the mathematical underpinning for tomographic reconstruction, also known as iterative reconstruction. The Radon transform data is often called a sinogram because the Radon transform of an off-center point source is a sinusoid. Consequently, the Radon transform of a number of small objects appears graphically as a number of blurred sine waves with different amplitudes and phases.
The angle of rotation from the black ray to the green segment is 60°, from the black ray to the blue segment is 210°, and from the green to the blue segment is . A complete rotation about the center point is equal to 1 turn, 360°, or 2π radians. In mathematics, the angle of rotation is a measurement of the amount, of namely angle, that a figure is rotated about a fixed point, often the center of a circle. A clockwise rotation is considered a negative rotation, so that, for instance, a rotation of 310° (counterclockwise) can also be called a rotation of -50° (since , a full rotation (turn)).
Together with the center of gravity (COG), the center point of balance (CPB) helps the dancer to better understand and control their movements. CPB differs from the two other centers in two respects. The exact location of the COG is always well-defined, however it significantly depends on the shape the body assumes. In contrast, the CPB during normal dancing (head up, feet down on the floor) is always at the same place of the dancer's body, although defined in a loose way: it is said that the CPB is in the general area of the solar plexus for the gentlemen, and navel for the women.
Mundaka is known as one of the most important places of the Lordship of Biscay, it was the birthplace of Jaun Zuria, the first Lord of Biscay, son of the Scottish princess who arrived in Mundaka escaping from an English King. The name of the town has Danish origin, it has been proven that the Vikings arrived there 900 years ago. According to the history of the Lordship, Mundaka has the oldest temple of Biscay, as a result, it has the first seat of the General Parliament. The port is in the center point of the town, from there the old part of the town grew.
Conway calls it a kisrhombille for his kis vertex bisector operation applied to the rhombille tiling. More specifically it can be called a 3-6 kisrhombille, to distinguish it from other similar hyperbolic tilings, like 3-7 kisrhombille. The related rhombille tiling becomes the kisrhombille by cutting each rhombic face along its diagonals into four triangular faces It can be seen as an equilateral hexagonal tiling with each hexagon divided into 12 triangles from the center point. (Alternately it can be seen as a bisected triangular tiling divided into 6 triangles, or as an infinite arrangement of lines in six parallel families.) It is labeled V4.6.
Polar coordinates are two-dimensional and thus they can be used only where point positions lie on a single two-dimensional plane. They are most appropriate in any context where the phenomenon being considered is inherently tied to direction and length from a center point. For instance, the examples above show how elementary polar equations suffice to define curves—such as the Archimedean spiral—whose equation in the Cartesian coordinate system would be much more intricate. Moreover, many physical systems—such as those concerned with bodies moving around a central point or with phenomena originating from a central point—are simpler and more intuitive to model using polar coordinates.
The largest city in western China, Ürümqi has earned a place in the Guinness Book of Records as the most remote city from any sea in the world. It is about from the nearest coastline as Ürümqi is the closest major city to the Eurasian pole of inaccessibility, although Karamay and Altay, both in Xinjiang, are closer. The city has an administrative area of and has an average elevation of . The location in the southwestern suburbs of Ürümqi (Ürümqi County) was designated by local geography experts as the "center point of Asia" in 1992, and a monument to this effect was erected there in the 1990s.
The railroad is laid out similar to the letter Y, in the northeastern part of Washington state. Its southern connection is in the town of Chewelah, where the railroad interchanges with BNSF Railway Company. . The area of Kettle Falls, Washington is at the center point of the Y. From Kettle Falls, one leg goes northwesterly and the other northeasterly. The northwestern leg goes into Canada and then drops back south, over the border with the United States, and ending at the town of Danville, Washington, interchanging with the Grand Forks Railway at Grand Forks Jct, BC. This line once continued to Republic, Washington, but was abandoned in 2008.
In 2009, Temple announced Temple 20/20, a framework to guide development at its main campus. Among its goals, it will make Broad Street the center point of the university and include a new library for students and the community; a large new green space; a new science building and a high rise residence hall. The university in 2014 adopted a new campus plan, Visualize Temple, with signature projects including a new library and quad in the heart of campus. A companion project, Verdant Temple, was announced in 2015 as a university strategy for updating and beautifying the school's open spaces, walkways and landscaping.
The GGRO programs center around Hawk Hill, one of the highest points (940 feet elev.) immediately above the Golden Gate on the north sides, in Marin County. This publicly accessible site, a center-point of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, offers visitors a spectacular vista of the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as the best view of the autumn hawk migration. While moving toward the Marin peninsula's southern tip in the Headlands, the "front" of migrating raptors is squeezed by San Francisco Bay on the east and the Pacific Ocean on the west. A preference for flying over land keeps many hawks from readily flying over open water.
Fuseki did not see significant improvement until the influence-oriented style of play evolved in the 20th century. Perhaps the most highly regarded pioneer player of the 20th century, Go Seigen, created an uproar when he played his third move (black 5) on the tengen, or center point in a game against the reigning Honinbo Shusai. An unwise move in classical thinking, it was considered an insult to someone of the Honinbo's stature. Go Seigen lost the controversial 4-month game (which is believed to be due to help from one of the Honinbo's students), but proved his ability against high- ranking opponents, even when employing such an unusual strategy.
Upon arrival at a parking lot requiring parking disc, the parking disc is set and put on display behind the front windshield. The disc has a thumb wheel (or knurling wheel) at the upper side that makes the clock face turn around its center point, allowing it to show different clock times. The standard parking clock can show a full twelve hours, with additional marks for each half-hour. The time to be set is rounded up from the actual arrival time, for example a 10:00:01 arrival would be set to 10:30, while a 10:29:59 arrival would also be set to 10:30.
Zherichinius species workers similar in proportion to Leptomyrmex species, but are distinguished from other members of Dolichoderinae based on the distinct deep notch along the rear margin of the head capsule and the scales on the petiole. The heads have fairly straight sides and are rectangular in outline, being between 1.3 and 2.2 times wider than long. There are no visible ocelli on the workers, but the compound eyes are well developed, large, and positioned near the center point on the head. The antennae are long with 12 segments, the scape being much longer than the head capsule, and the terminal segments not enlarged into a club.
The character also wear an X-like strap around the body called a 'sangvar'; it may be made of gold-colored silk or chains of gold with square ornaments. This characters also wear the same ankle and wrist jewelry as females, but with the addition of an extra set of bangles on the wrist and no armlets. A kite-shaped ornament called a 'sloek po' (named after the bo tree leaf), which serves as a center point for their 'sangvar' is worn. The distinction between Ream Eyso and other yaksha (giant) character is that he possesses a magic ax and wears a decorative yaksha mask with a hamsa's tail crown.
The new league was formed by 5 of the 7 remaining Linn County league schools: Alburnett, Center Point, Central City, Troy Mills and Walker, joined by Coggon and by Winthrop, from Buchanan County.Ogden, Jack. "6 Linn Schools, Winthrop Form a New Conference", Cedar Rapids Gazette, Cedar Rapids, December 26, 1954. (Palo and Viola took different paths and their high schools would both close by the early 1960s.) In early 1957, superintendents of the 12 non-metro schools in Linn County voted to not hold the boys and girls county basketball tournaments in 1957–58 and to drop the county music festival as well;"Vote To Drop Linn Meets", Cedar Rapids Gazette, Cedar Rapids, March 22, 1957.
On January 8, 1884, the Texas legislature required the county to be divided into free public school districts. The school districts established by the legislature were Quitman, Lone Star, Myrtle Springs, Forest Hill, Cartwright, Caney, Rock Hill, Forest Home, Winnsboro, Chalybeate Springs, Spring Hill, Smyrna, Cold Springs, Shady Grove, Center Point, Pleasant Grove, Floyd's Common Ridge, Mount Pisgah, Liberty, Sand Springs, Fletcher, Pleasant Divide, Friendship, Lone Pint, Salem, Webster, Persimmon Grove, Cottonwood, Macedonia, Concord, New Hope, Dyess, Mount Enterprise, and "Albia" (Alba). Free school districts for African Americans were established at Quitman, Cedar Tree, Robinson's Chapel, Muddy Creek, Mount Zion, Tranquil, Center, Hawkins, Shiloh and "District 48" which encompassed all of the district west of Lake Fork.
In the mid-1850s, as Kerr County was establishing a new county seat, a small community to the south was being established as a major trade area between Comfort and Kerrsville (later changed to Kerrville) and Bandera and Fredericksburg. On November 25, 1859, the first post office was established and called Zanzenberg after the ancestral home of the town founder Charles Ganahl. Originally opened in the home of Ganahl, the post office stayed there until 1872 when it was moved to the south side of the Guadalupe River, where a sizable community was building. When the post office was reopened it was called Center Point due to its location on the trade routes, mentioned above.
The difference in the number of cyclones in the north compared to the south is due to the size of the cyclones. The southern CPCs tend to be bigger with radii ranging from 5,600 km to 7,000 km while northern CPCs range from 4,000 km to 4,600 km. The northern cyclones tend to maintain an octagonal structure with the NPC as a center point. Northern cyclones have less data than southern cyclones because of limited illumination in the north-polar winter, making it difficult for JunoCam to obtain accurate measurements of northern CPC positions at each perijove (53 days), but JIRAM is able to collect enough data to understand the northern CPCs.
At least one of the engines used was a Reeves Model P. In the interest of simplicity, all models used a friction-drive transmission. A roller (a metal wheel with a rubber surface vulcanized to increase its grip) on the front sprocket shaft was pressed against the machined rear surface of the engine flywheel, thus driving the sprocket shaft, the drive chains and the rear wheels. Moving the shift lever set the drive roller to various positions on the flywheel, either nearer the center or nearer the edge, effectively changing the "gear ratio" for climbing hills or driving on level roads. Moving the roller past the center point spun it backwards to give reverse gear.
A great circle divides the sphere in two equal hemispheres A great circle, also known as an orthodrome, of a sphere is the intersection of the sphere and a plane that passes through the center point of the sphere. A great circle is the largest circle that can be drawn on any given sphere. Any diameter of any great circle coincides with a diameter of the sphere, and therefore all great circles have the same center and circumference as each other. This special case of a circle of a sphere is in opposition to a small circle, that is, the intersection of the sphere and a plane that does not pass through the center.
Comet ISON came to perihelion (closest approach to the Sun) on 28 November 2013 at a distance of from the center point of the Sun. Accounting for the solar radius of , Comet ISON passed approximately above the Sun's surface. Its trajectory appeared to be hyperbolic, which suggested that it was a dynamically new comet coming freshly from the Oort cloud or even a candidate interstellar comet.C/2012 S1 (ISON) had an epoch 1600 barycentric semi-major axis of −144956 and would have an inbound v_infinite of 0.2 km/s at 50000 au: v=42.1219 Near perihelion, a generic heliocentric two-body solution to the orbit suggests that the orbital period was around 400,000 years.
An outbreak sequence of 30 tornadoes impacted the Great Plains, Midwest, Northeast, Mississippi Valley, and Southeast. The first major tornado of the outbreak was a large, long-tracked, wide F2 tornado that injured two as it passed through Allerton, Martinstown and Streppyville, Thirty, and Moulton on its path. This was followed by an even larger, stronger, longer-tracked wide F3 tornado–which was most likely a tornado family–that passed through Southern Marshalltown, Garrison, Vinton, Center Point, Alice, Northern Central City, and Monticello, killing one and injuring 12 on its path. Later, another long-tracked F3 tornado passed through Lorenzo and Peotone, Illinois as well as Belshaw and Roselawn, Indiana, injuring four on its path.
De Leon then became the center point for the Katy between Waco, Albany, and Cross Plains, thereby relocating numerous railroad crew members and their families to the city. The census of 1910 showed 1,015 citizens. De Leon continues to retain its rail service and the former Texas Central Katy line from Dublin to Gorman, nicknamed the "Peanut Line", is currently operated by the Fort Worth and Western Railroad. On Labor Day night 1918, oil was discovered north of De Leon just inside the Comanche County line near Desdemona. During the next two years, nearly a thousand wells were drilled in the area, and the population of De Leon rose to an estimate of more than 5,000 people.
For a pendulum swing at the North Pole it is shown that the surface velocity vectors of the Earth underneath one side of the pendulum swing are directed in opposition to the velocity vectors underneath the other side of the swing (see Figure 1). The Earth's rotation can then be observed in relation to the pendulum swing. At the North Pole the support-point of the pendulum swing is located on the axis of rotation of the Earth. No matter what vertical orientation is established by the plane of the swing, the relative velocity vectors of the Earth's surface on opposite sides and equidistant from the center point of the swing will be in opposition.
Located in the middle of Battery Park City and overlooking the Hudson River, Brookfield Place, designed by César Pelli and owned mostly by Toronto-based Brookfield Office Properties, has been home to offices of various major companies, including Merrill Lynch, RBC Capital Markets, Nomura Group, American Express and Brookfield Asset Management, among others. Brookfield Place also serves as the United States headquarters for Brookfield Office Properties, which has its headquarters located in 200 Vesey Street. Brookfield Place also has its own zip code, 10281. Brookfield Place's ground floor and portions of the second floor are occupied by a mall; its center point is a steel-and-glass atrium known as the Winter Garden.
Two minutes after the accident, the airport's Emergency Plan No.1 was immediately put into effect, with all of its available fire trucks being dispatched to the crash site. This was followed by the airport police and the medical team to attend the injured. The aircraft was positioned approximately 80 meters from the center point of the runway, about 70 meters short of the safety guidelines set by the International Civil Aviation Organization for the continued use of the airstrip, meaning that the runway was closed until the aircraft and its debris was removed from the runway. This caused the cancellations of around 280 flights with flight scheduled to land rerouted to Clark International Airport and other nearby airports.
Mohave Valley is a 25-mile (40 km) long, north-south trending valley and up to wide at some areas. Mohave Valley, Arizona, in the center of the reservation, is at the center point of the valley. Bullhead City is at the northern perimeter of the valley; Needles is on the southwest border of the valley in California. Downstream, and southeast, near the southern valley perimeter is the Topock Marsh in Arizona, and also on the southern perimeter, Interstate 40 in Arizona as it ascends uphill out of the Sacramento Wash, and eventually enters the entire north-south Sacramento Valley which lies on the east, southeast, and partial south of the Black Mountains.
Tromsø Satellite Station (2013) Tromsø Satellite Station (, TSS), until 1988 known as Tromsø Telemetry Station (), is a satellite earth station located in Tromsø, Norway. The facility is owned by Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT), a joint venture between the Kongsberg Group and the Norwegian Space Centre (NSC). In addition to hosting its own antennas serving thirty satellites, TSS acts as the center-point of KSAT's operations and provides backbone services for the high Arctic Svalbard Satellite Station (SvalSat) and the Antarctic Troll Satellite Station (TrollSat). Originally proposed in 1965, the station was established by the Royal Norwegian Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (NTNF) in 1967 in close cooperation with the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (NDRE) and located adjacent to Tromsø Geophysical Observatory.
In March 2008, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (DCAA) was established by a decree issued by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Makhtoum and Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed was appointed as Chairman of the entity on the basis of the leadership capabilities showed by him and his definite interest in culture from a very young age. DCAA's goal under Sheikh Majid leadership is to achieve the vision of Dubai Strategic Plan 2015 and to be a cultural center point for all communities and individuals in Dubai to showcase their artistic and cultural talent and to assert Dubai's role as a multi-ethnic city which unites everyone under its umbrella. Sheikh Majid is no longer the Chairman for Dubai Culture and Arts Authority since 2014.
Don Bosco left the league for the Iowa Star Conference in 2005 and South Tama joined the Little Hawkeye Conference for 2006. In 2013, Waterloo Columbus left the WaMaC for the NICL Conference with South Tama joining back in the WaMaC at the start of the 2014 season. In 2007, the league added two Tri-River Conference members, Anamosa (who had been a member of the conference in its early days and had recently been in the Big Bend conference with the other 4 schools that had joined the conference in 2003), and Center Point–Urbana. In 2008, the league expanded to add four of the larger schools in the Eastern Iowa Hawkeye Conference, all of which were also rapidly growing schools.
As the wave generator plug rotates, the flex spline teeth which are meshed with those of the circular spline slowly change position. The major axis of the flex spline's ellipse rotates with wave generator, so the points where the teeth mesh revolve around the center point at the same rate as the wave generator's shaft. The key to the design of the strain wave gear is that there are fewer teeth (often for example two fewer) on the flex spline than there are on the circular spline. This means that for every full rotation of the wave generator, the flex spline would be required to rotate a slight amount (two teeth in this example) backward relative to the circular spline.
The opposite range was semi-private, with the Duke's drawing-room and bedchamber (hung with framed miniatures), a cabinet and a gallery with a porcelain chimneypiece. The schloss was the center-point of a range of grand buildings sited in deference to it, including the Hofkirche that served as the court chapel. A central avenue through the town was laid out, centered on the schloss; on the garden side, the axis was carried through as the Hofdamenallee ("Court ladies' allée"), a central ride through the enclosing woodland, still reaching the slightly elevated wooded horizon today. In January 1992, the Naval Weapons Center and the Pacific Missile Test Center Point Mugu were disestablished and joined with naval units at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque and at the White Sands Missile Range at White Sands, NM as a single command - the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) of the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). At the same time, the physical plant at China Lake was designated as a Naval Air Weapons Station and became host of the NAVAIR Weapons Division, performing the base-keeping functions. In 1982 the community area of China Lake, including most of base housing, was annexed by the City of Ridgecrest. In 2013, Congress reserved China Lake's acreage for military use for an additional 25 years.
He points to Macron's declaration that he is "neither left nor right", and to his support for policies, such as public-sector austerity and major environmental investments, that traditional political parties might find contradictory. U.S. politician Dave Andersion, writing in The Hill newspaper, says that Macron's election victory points the way for those "who wish to transcend their polarized politics of [the present] in the name of a new center, not a moderate center associated with United States and United Kingdom 'Third Way' politics but what has been described as Macron's 'radical center' point of view. … [It] transcends left and right but takes important elements of both sides".Anderson, Dave (16 May 2017) "Why the 'Radical Center' Must Be the Future of American Politics".
He was in the Pentagon when it was attacked on September 11, 2001. He led the stand-up of JITF-CT, was active in intelligence planning for the Global War on Terrorism and military operations in Afghanistan, oversaw J-2 activities during the initial phase of combat operations in Afghanistan and was instrumental in developing and championing an operational concept called "2 Plus 7" which became the center point for U.S. operations to dismantle the Al-Qaeda organization and attack its centralized leadership and planning functions. The effort focused operations against the two leaders and the seven senior operational planners. The result was a significant degradation in the organization's capabilities. Jacoby concluded his one-year extension as Joint Staff J-2 in July 2002.
The Goos- Hänchen shift describes the displacement of the center point of an optical beam when it undergoes total reflection from the interface between two semi- infinite regions of different refractive index. The displacement is generally of the order of the wavelength of light. If the reflection of a beam from a sandwich structure that consists of a semi-infinite prism, a tunneling layer, a waveguide film layer, and a semi-infinite glass slide is investigated, the shift will be found to be much larger as a consequence of the excitation of the guided wave. Terminating the upper (prism) region just beyond the midpoint of the incident beam traps the light of the beam in the waveguide mode in the film.
The southern half of NY 22's old routing into the hamlet remained state-maintained as well and is now New York State Route 980F, an unsigned reference route, and is signed on NY 22 as a southern branch of NY 344. In August and October 1955, NY 344 and the Taconic State Park south of the road was inundated with floods damaging the blacktop surface highway. The reconstruction of NY 344 was the center point of debate came in late February 1956, where Paul Winslow, the executive secretary of the Taconic State Park Commission, who felt it was unimportant if the road was rebuilt. Local officials in the town of Copake opposed Winslow's view, noting that it only cost $35,000 (1956 USD) to reconstruct the road.
If we represent hyperbolic space by means of the Klein model, and take the center of the Hjelmslev transformation to be the center point of the Klein model, then the Hjelmslev transformation maps points in the unit disk to points in a disk centered at the origin with a radius less than one. Given a real number k, the Hjelmslev transformation, if we ignore rotations, is in effect what we obtain by mapping a vector u representing a point in the Klein model to ku, with 0
However, two tangent lines can be drawn to a circle from a point P outside of the circle. The geometrical figure of a circle and both tangent lines likewise has a reflection symmetry about the radial axis joining P to the center point O of the circle. Thus the lengths of the segments from P to the two tangent points are equal. By the secant-tangent theorem, the square of this tangent length equals the power of the point P in the circle C. This power equals the product of distances from P to any two intersection points of the circle with a secant line passing through P. The angle θ between a chord and a tangent is half the arc belonging to the chord.
State flag (1956–2001) In early 1955, chairman of the State Democratic Party and attorney for the Association County Commissioners of Georgia John Sammons Bell (who later served as a judge on the Georgia Court of Appeals) suggested a new state flag for Georgia that would incorporate the Confederate Battle Flag. At the 1956 session of the General Assembly, state senators Jefferson Lee Davis and Willis Harden introduced Senate Bill 98 to change the state flag. Signed into law on February 13, 1956, the bill became effective the following July 1. A copy of the new flag displayed at the 1956 signing ceremony shows slight differences from the state flag commonly produced (and shown here). In the 1956 version, the stars are larger, and only the center point of the central star points straight up.
Businesses along Rankin Avenue (US 127/SR 8/SR 28) in downtown Dunlap, Tennessee US 127/SR 8 passes through the Lone Oak community before descending into the Sequatchie Valley and passing through farmland. The highway passes through Center Point, where it meets SR 283 and crosses the Sequatchie River, to enter Dunlap and has a Y-intersection with SR 28, with that designation joining US 127 for its remainder in the state. US 127/SR 8/SR 28 passes northeast directly through downtown along Rankin Avenue to have an interchange with SR 111 after passing through some neighborhoods. Here SR 8 becomes signed and splits off along SR 111 north while US 127/SR 28 leaves Dunlap to head through rural farmland for the next several miles to cross into Bledsoe County.

Although Rosenkrantz et al. prove only a logarithmic approximation ratio for this method, they show that in practice it often works better than other insertion methods with better provable approximation ratios.. Later, the same sequence of points was popularized by , who used it as part of a greedy approximation algorithm for the problem of finding k clusters that minimize the maximum diameter of a cluster. The same algorithm applies also, with the same approximation quality, to the metric k-center problem. This problem is one of several formulations of cluster analysis and facility location, in which the goal is to partition a given set of points into k different clusters, each with a chosen center point, such that the maximum distance from any point to the center of its cluster is minimized.
On the VT55 the filling always drew down from the graph to the base of the display, on the VT105 with the shade line set, this could be set to draw up to the top of the screen, or more commonly, towards a center-point in the data. For instance, with the shade line set to the middle of the screen, if a sine wave was plotted the areas above the center would be shaded downwards and the sections below center upwards, producing a filled-in waveform. Enabling a horizontal line at the same point adds a visual baseline. There were two shade lines in memory, one for each graph, but only one @ command. A bit in register 1 controlled which of the two buffers the @ data was loaded into.
True anisotropic filtering probes the texture anisotropically on the fly on a per-pixel basis for any orientation of anisotropy. In graphics hardware, typically when the texture is sampled anisotropically, several probes (texel samples) of the texture around the center point are taken, but on a sample pattern mapped according to the projected shape of the texture at that pixel, although earlier software methods have used summed area tables. Each anisotropic filtering probe is often in itself a filtered MIP map sample, which adds more sampling to the process. Sixteen trilinear anisotropic samples might require 128 samples from the stored texture, as trilinear MIP map filtering needs to take four samples times two MIP levels and then anisotropic sampling (at 16-tap) needs to take sixteen of these trilinear filtered probes.
Just as with Bresenham's line algorithm, this algorithm can be optimized for integer-based math. Because of symmetry, if an algorithm can be found that only computes the pixels for one octant, the pixels can be reflected to get the whole circle. We start by defining the radius error as the difference between the exact representation of the circle and the center point of each pixel (or any other arbitrary mathematical point on the pixel, so long as it's consistent across all pixels). For any pixel with a center at (x_i, y_i), the radius error is defined as: :RE(x_i,y_i) = \left\vert x_i^2 + y_i^2 - r^2 \right\vert For clarity, this formula for a circle is derived at the origin, but the algorithm can be modified for any location.
Thomas Rhett Akins Jr. (born March 30, 1990) is an American country music singer-songwriter. He is the son of singer Rhett Akins. Rhett has released four studio albums for Big Machine Records' Valory Music imprint: It Goes Like This (2013), Tangled Up (2015), Life Changes (2017), and Center Point Road (2019). His last two albums were nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Country Album in 2017 and 2019. His four albums have produced nineteen singles on the Billboard Hot Country and Country Airplay charts, with fifteen reaching the No. 1 position on the latter: "It Goes Like This", "Get Me Some of That", "Make Me Wanna", "Crash and Burn", "Die a Happy Man", "T-Shirt", "Star of the Show", "Craving You", "Unforgettable", "Marry Me", "Life Changes", "Sixteen", “Remember You Young”, "Look What God Gave Her", and "Beer Can't Fix".
The original design of the Plaza was a two level terrace with pathways, marble trims, urns, influenced by landscaped architecture modeling after Roman gardens and English gardens. The east and west plaza reflected the same winding pathways leading to a raised stepped terrace surrounded by stone railings and entrance sculptures of large urns with two small "reflecting" pools of water facing Broad Street at the center point, which at that time was cut away from the curbline forming half circles open to traffic on both the east and west. This accent was used in 1926 to position a large Liberty Bell at the center of the street permitting traffic to circle around. Over the years many of the fine details have been erased including the half circled indented curbline on either side of Broad Street at the center.
His work grew to encompass the fields of biology, epidemiology, anthropometry, medicine and social history. In 1901, with Walter Weldon, founder of biometry, and Galton, he founded the journal Biometrika as the first journal of mathematical statistics and biometry. His work, and that of Galton's, underpins many of the 'classical' statistical methods which are in common use today, including the Correlation coefficient, defined as a product- moment; the method of moments for the fitting of distributions to samples; Pearson's system of continuous curves that forms the basis of the now conventional continuous probability distributions; Chi distance a precursor and special case of the Mahalanobis distance and P-value, defined as the probability measure of the complement of the ball with the hypothesized value as center point and chi distance as radius. He also introduced the term 'standard deviation'.
She participated in hurricane recovery operations after Ivan, Katrina, and Rita, recovering and re-establishing buoys that were up to off station, and re-establishing critical Gulf Coast channels including Pensacola, Florida, Mobile, Alabama, Gulfport and Pascagoula, Mississippi New Orleans, Louisiana Sabine and Corpus Christi, Texas. In 2004, Cypress successfully recovered a sunken “Blue Angels” F/A-18A Hornet from of water in the Gulf of Mexico, and has since served as the center point for the annual Blue Angels’ air show at Pensacola Beach, Florida. In 2005, Cypress contributed to the re-build and extension of the Houston Ship Channel entrance, the portal to the busy Houston-Galveston area and used by more than 6,000 large vessels annually. In spring 2007, Cypress completed her first extended Alien Migration Interdiction Operations (AMIO) patrol for Coast Guard District Seven.
The game uses a random map system with several types of terrain. The landscape type of the game map determines which bases and units can be built, which strategies may be applied and which kinds of mineral ore resource may be found, in turn determining which Mega units may be built later in the game. Ground-based landscapes do not have the unique resources for naval Mega units, and water based landscapes do not have the resources for land Mega units. There are eleven different landscape map types: Mainland, Oceanic(the whole map is water, although air units can still be built), Islands (each player starts on an island), Oasis, Choke Point (swamps in the center), Center Point (all resources in the middle), Outlands (resources in the corners), Islets(many small islands), Swamp, Continental (large landmasses with rivers) and Fortress (a central island with all resources).
With the beginning of the Cold War, American defense experts and political leaders began planning and implementing a defensive air shield, which they believed was necessary to defend against a possible attack by long-range, manned Soviet bombers. The Air Defense Command was established 21 March 1946 and the major command was established at Mitchel Field (later Mitchel Air Force Base) in New York on 27 March 1946, which was commanded by Lieutenant General George E. Stratemeyer. By the time of the United States Air Force creation in 1947, as a separate service, it was widely acknowledged the Air Force would be the center point of this defensive effort. The Air Force established the Continental Air Command under both the Air Defense Command and Tactical Air Command on 1 December 1948, at which time Commanding General Gordon P. Saville (later Major General) took command.

19th century line drawing of the Boston Stone The stone was originally a millstone used for grinding paint pigments. It was imported from England in 1635 cited in or 1700 by the painter Tom Childs. in 1836, the stone was recovered while the foundations for the present building were being dug, and was placed in the brick wall in the building that still stands today. According to popular legend and some sources, the stone is the geographic center of Boston, as it was used in colonial times by surveyors as the zero point for outlying milestones showing the distance to Boston, analogous to the London Stone, but this is almost certainly not true – there are no contemporary records indicating this, the 1767 Milestones stretching from Boston to Springfield, Massachusetts are not based on the Boston Stone, and the Old State House would have been a more likely center point for measuring distances to the city.
Several nonconvex uniform polyhedra, including the tetrahemihexahedron, cubohemioctahedron, octahemioctahedron, small rhombihexahedron, small icosihemidodecahedron, and small dodecahemidodecahedron, have antiparallelograms as their vertex figures, the cross-sections formed by slicing the polyhedron by a plane that passes near a vertex, perpendicularly to the axis between the vertex and the center.. For uniform polyhedra of this type in which the faces do not pass through the center point of the polyhedron, the dual polyhedron has antiparallelograms as its faces; examples of dual uniform polyhedra with antiparallelogram faces include the small rhombihexacron, the great rhombihexacron, the small rhombidodecacron, the great rhombidodecacron, the small dodecicosacron, and the great dodecicosacron. The antiparallelograms that form the faces of these dual uniform polyhedra are the same antiparallelograms that form the vertex figure of the original uniform polyhedron. Bricard octahedron constructed as a double pyramid over an antiparallelogram. One form of a non-uniform but flexible polyhedron, the Bricard octahedron, can be constructed as a double pyramid over an antiparallelogram. .
Common welding joint types – (1) Square butt joint, (2) V butt joint, (3) Lap joint, (4) T-joint Welds can be geometrically prepared in many different ways. The five basic types of weld joints are the butt joint, lap joint, corner joint, edge joint, and T-joint (a variant of this last is the cruciform joint). Other variations exist as well—for example, double-V preparation joints are characterized by the two pieces of material each tapering to a single center point at one-half their height. Single-U and double-U preparation joints are also fairly common—instead of having straight edges like the single-V and double-V preparation joints, they are curved, forming the shape of a U. Lap joints are also commonly more than two pieces thick—depending on the process used and the thickness of the material, many pieces can be welded together in a lap joint geometry.
His position made him the center point of the Safavid silk production and cultivation, as not only was he the representative of the merchants who traded it, but his own relative, Qazaq Khan Cherkes, was the governor of Shirvan at the time, while one of his intimates, Manuchihr Khan administered Gaskar in Gilan – chief production centers of Safavid silk. Being the "master of the hunt", he acted as the liaison (or, contact) between the court and the Armenians of the capital, and presented their grievances and requests to the king. As the Armenians had grown to a powerful and rich faction within the empire by that time, they were willing to fund those causes lavishly which they deemed as important. Yusuf Agha himself was one of those who highly benefitted from this, as when he was executed in 1632 under Safi's reign, the exorbitant sum of 450,000 tomans was found in his possession.
Melusine legends are especially connected with the northern areas of France, Poitou and the Low Countries, as well as Cyprus, where the French Lusignan royal house that ruled the island from 1192 to 1489 claimed to be descended from Melusine. Oblique reference to this was made by Sir Walter Scott who told a Melusine tale in Minstrelsy of the Scottish Border (1802–1803) stating that Melusine by Ludwig Michael von Schwanthaler (1845) The Luxembourg family also claimed descent from Melusine through their ancestor Siegfried. When in 963 A.D. Count Siegfried of the Ardennes (Sigefroi in French; Sigfrid in Luxembourgish) bought the feudal rights to the territory on which he founded his capital city of Luxembourg, his name became connected with the local version of Melusine. This Melusina had essentially the same magic gifts as the ancestress of the Lusignans, magically making the Castle of Luxembourg on the Bock rock (the historical center point of Luxembourg City) appear the morning after their wedding.
Consider a circle within the ball, containing the point at the center of the ball. Using an argument like that used to prove the Claim, one can see that the full circle is equidecomposable with the circle minus the point at the ball's center. (Basically, a countable set of points on the circle can be rotated to give itself plus one more point.) Note that this involves the rotation about a point other than the origin, so the Banach–Tarski paradox involves isometries of Euclidean 3-space rather than just SO(3). Use is made of the fact that if A ~ B and B ~ C, then A ~ C. The decomposition of A into C can be done using number of pieces equal to the product of the numbers needed for taking A into B and for taking B into C. The proof sketched above requires 2 × 4 × 2 + 8 = 24 pieces - a factor of 2 to remove fixed points, a factor 4 from step 1, a factor 2 to recreate fixed points, and 8 for the center point of the second ball.

Oslo became the center-point of immigration. The Alta controversy started in the 1970s when Statkraft planned to dam the Alta River. The case united the environmental and Sami interest groups; although Alta Power Station was built, the issue shifted the political climate and made large-scale hydroelectricity project difficult to built. The Sami Parliament was established in 1989.Stenersen: 164 The Conservative Party won the 1981 elections and carried out a large deregulation reform: taxes were cut, local private radio stations were permitted, cable television was established by private companies, regulations on borrowing money were removed and foreigners were permitted to buy securities. An economic crisis hit in 1986 when foreigners started selling Norwegian krone, which ultimately forced an increase in taxes and Prime Minister Kåre Willoch was forced to resign.Stenersen: 165 The Progress Party, located to the right of the Conservatives, had its break-through in the late 1980s.Stenersen: 167 The high wages in the oil industry made low-skill manufacturing industries uncompetitive and the Labor Party closed a number of public industrial companies which were receiving large subsidies.
At the equator the rotation of the Earth is not observable in relation to the pendulum swing because the plane of the pendulum swing is moving along with the rotation of the Earth and no net change in relationship occurs. It is shown by the diagrams that the surface velocity vectors of the Earth underneath the swing of the pendulum are either balanced in the same direction or included within the same plane as the pendulum swing. For the equatorial pendulum with a swing in the longitudinal (north-south) direction the surface velocity vectors on either side of the swing are balanced in the same direction and the center-point of the pendulum swing is moving along with the direction of rotation (see Figure 2A). Figure two (a)--Equatorial pendulum with longitudinal swing For the equatorial pendulum with a swing in the latitudinal direction (along the equator) the surface velocity vectors on either side of the swing are not balanced in the same direction but are acting within the same x-y plane as the pendulum swing (see Figure 2B).
Continuing northwest, LA 107 and LA 115 intersect two minor routes that run west to connect with LA 1: LA 1191 and another section of LA 1192. LA 107 and LA 115 have a very brief concurrency with LA 1192, which splits to the northeast and loops through Fort De Russy back to the first intersection in Marksville. LA 107 and LA 115 encounter two further minor routes before reaching the Red River: LA 1193 and LA 453 which run through an area known as Hickory Hill. LA 107 and LA 115 continue northwest across the Red River, slightly bypassing the small community of Moncla to the north. On the other side of the bridge, LA 107 and LA 115 intersect LA 1196 and LA 454, which parallel the Red River, in an area known as Effie. Just north of Effie, LA 115 splits to the north and runs toward Deville and Buckeye. Meanwhile, LA 107 curves to the west through Center Point and out of Avoyelles Parish. After crossing into Rapides Parish, LA 107 intersects LA 454 again in Cedar Grove.
In June, The Prequel, a five-track EP, spent a single week at number one, and in November his second full-length album What You See Is What You Get reached the top spot, where it had spent four non- consecutive weeks by the end of the year. It also became the singer's first album to top the all-genres Billboard 200 chart, a feat also achieved by Thomas Rhett's album Center Point Road, which topped both listings in June. Every other chart-topper of 2019 spent only a single week at number one, and no act other than Combs achieved more than one number one during the year in its own right, although Maren Morris reached number one with her solo album Girl and also as a member of the Highwomen, a supergroup of female country singers. Several acts reached the top of the chart for the first time in 2019, beginning in the year's first week when former television and film singing cowboy Gene Autry was at number one with Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Other Christmas Classics, giving him his first chart-topper more than 20 years after his death.
