In 1942, after further service in Syria as part of the Allied garrison, Horrie was brought back to Australia when Moody was repatriated. In order to get around stringent quarantine laws which would have prevented him from bringing Horrie back, Moody smuggled the dog home in a canvas bag, which was reinforced with wooden slats so that the dog could breathe. In 1945, after Horrie came to public attention following the publishing of a book by Ion Idriess about Horrie's exploits, Moody was ordered by quarantine officials to surrender Horrie to be put down.

An exhaustive search of boat rental receipts turned up one which had his name for a rental for a boat to Bonelli Landing, where the pickup had been towed. Agents returned to Lake Mead and after searching between Bonelli Landing and the boat rental shop across the shore, Cecil Newkirk's body was recovered, floating in a black canvas bag just like his partner. An autopsy conducted revealed that he had been severely beaten before being drowned and wounds on his chest were discovered to be consistent with the wounds left by a high- voltage taser gun. His personal effects had been removed including a self- winding watch which stopped working at 10:37 p.

Mojave County Sheriff's Deputy Dale Lent and FBI agents processed the spot where the armored car was believed to have been stopped. Digs and gouges in the dirt indicated that there had been a struggle near the rear of the van. In addition tire tracks from a second vehicle were found, consistent with the tire tracks found in the remote area near where the armored van had been abandoned however those same tracks were also found in front of where the van had been pulled over. On June 16, 1977, 300 miles northwest of where the armored van had been abandoned, a body in a black canvas bag was discovered in Debbie's Cove in Lake Mead by a pair of anglers.

Like the rest of the M60 family, it is an air-cooled, gas-operated, belt-fed weapon. Unlike other models, however, the M60D normally has spade grips and an aircraft ring-type sight or similar, as well as an improved ammunition feed system. A canvas bag is also affixed to the gun to capture ejected casings and links, preventing them from being sucked into the rotor blades or into an engine intake. The M60D was equipped on the UH-1B Huey (using the M23, XM29, M59, and the Sagami mounts), the CH-47 Chinook (using the M24 and M41 mounts) in both door and ramp locations, the ACH-47A "Guns-A- Go-Go" variant of the Chinook (using the XM32 and XM33 mounts), and on the UH-60 Black Hawk (using the M144 mount).

When a "dead-drop" has been reported in a city, fans may go to the given location to retrieve a canvas bag containing a personal item of one of the Project Abraham participants, a compass, a SRPA T-shirt, and a card listing a serial number. This serial number is used to unlock two comic panels at the second new addition to the AFAO website, Metastasis. A third website named Get A War Job has been discovered and can be accessed directly from Project Abraham. On the site a typewriter is shown along with pro and anti-war posters, cards, pamphlets, and a document which the player can fill out and possibly cause events to happen in the future such as a phone call or further information about the site/sites.

The Poland brothers' father said both brothers had borrowed the truck on the day of the robbery and that several weeks before the heist, Mr. Poland had mixed concrete in the pickup's flatbed, and examinations revealed it was the same batch of concrete that left the dust stuck in the canvas bag recovered at Lake Mead. However the station owner could not positively identify Patrick Poland, but he did confirm that their father's pickup truck was the one he towed from Bonelli Landing. On July 27, 1977, agents arrived at Michael Poland's house with a search warrant but he claimed that on the day of the heist he was in Las Vegas buying jewels. Several gems and $12,000 in cash were found and Michael claimed that they were for his jewel business.

The Bren was also used on many vehicles, including on Universal Carriers, to which it gave the alternative name "Bren Gun Carrier", and on tanks and armoured cars. It could not be used as a co-axial weapon on tanks, as the magazine restricted its depression and was awkward to handle in confined spaces, and it was therefore used on a pintle mount only. (The belt fed Vickers or Besa, the latter being another Czechoslovak machine gun design adopted by the British, were instead used as co-axial weapons.) An unfortunate problem occurred when the Bren was fired from the Dingo Scout Car; the hot cartridge cases tended to be ejected down the neck of the driver, whose position was next to the pintle. A canvas bag was designed to catch the cartridges and overcome the problem, but it seems to have been rarely issued.

Trugo, or alternatively TruGo or True-Go, is a sport or game developed in the western suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. The game is said to have been invented in the Newport Workshops by railway workers in the 1920s, and the first clubs were established in 1936. Played outdoors on a rink similar to that used for lawn bowls (90 feet / 27.4 metres in length for men, 70 feet / 21.3 metres for women), the objective of the game is to score goals by striking a "wheel" (a compressed rubber ring one inch thick and thirteen inches circumference) with a mallet from a rubber mat at one end of the rink and between a pair of short goal posts at the other end. The player's opponent at the other end of the rink ensures that the wheel is safely contained by catching it in a canvas bag attached to a long pole once the wheel has passed the goal line.
