Zworykin first presented his iconoscope to RCA in 1932. He continued work on it, and "[t]he image iconoscope, presented in 1934, was a result of a collaboration between Zworykin and RCA's licensee Telefunken. ... It was founded in 1976 by composer Iancu Dumitrescu and specializes in the performance of contemporary classical music, more particular it is the main promoter in Romania of the Spectral Music trend. Hyperion performed all over the world, and premiered the major works of Iancu Dumitrescu and Ana- Maria Avram Hyperion Ensemble's performances are hyper-spectralist, transformational and acousmatic. Hyperion Ensemble realized many broadcastings for Radio Shows and a lot of LPs and Compact-Disc, particularly the 24 CD series with Dumitrescu and Avram's music.

At the advice of her doctor, Pindell bought a television for her studio to encourage her from working long hours on her dot works. She became interested in the artificial light from her television monitor, and began to write out small numerals on acetate, which she stuck to the TV screen. She then photographed her drawings placed over the monitor. These experiments lead to a long series of works that feature her drawings over sporting events and news broadcastings, including televised elections. The spray paintings of the early 1970s, which made use of the scrap pieces of paper from which holes had been punched, were dark and smoldering, yet there was also a shimmering light.
