The Diège () is a long river in the Corrèze département, south central France. Its source is at Saint-Setiers, on the plateau de Millevaches, in the parc naturel régional de Millevaches en Limousin. It flows generally southeast. It is a right tributary of the Dordogne into which it flows between Roche-le- Peyroux and Saint-Julien-près-Bort, southwest of Clermont-Ferrand.
The scene in the gift shop where Bart finds a personalized license plate with the name "Bort" has become part of popular culture, inspiring vanity plates among fans and souvenirs in The Simpsons-themed stores at Universal Orlando. Writer Bill Oakley said he always liked the joke but was surprised it took on a "legendary status". Planet Simpson author Chris Turner called the joke "unmistakably Simpsonian".
Hanna's place on the Brigade Staff was remarkable in itself because since the formation of the modern UVF by Gusty Spence, almost all of the UVF Brigade Staff members have been from the Shankill Road or the neighbouring Woodvale area to the west. Hanna, a native of Lurgan, was one of the few exceptions.Anderson, Malcolm & Bort, Eberhard (1999). The Irish Border: history, politics, culture.
And that, paradoxically, is the brilliant meaning at the heart of 'Dumb Starbucks.'" Bill Bradley of The Huffington Post called the episode "genius." Ryan Bort of Paste rated the episode a perfect 10/10, commenting, "the 'Dumb Starbucks' episode of Nathan For You more than lived up to the Dumb Starbucks phenomenon." Robin Hardwick of Entertainment Weekly deemed it "almost a game- changer for the whole show.
A church at the site began in 1694. The facade was completed in 1705 designed by Toribio Martínez de la Vega. The facade had reliefs and sculptures designed by Jaime Bort, and completed by José Balaguer. The first retablo in the church was completed by the 17th-century and carved by Antonio Dupar, however, this was destroyed during the Spanish Civil War of 1936.
The Rhue (, also called Grande Rhue) is a river in the Puy-de-Dôme, Cantal and Corrèze départements, south central France. Its source is at Besse-et-Saint- Anastaise, near Super Besse, in the parc naturel régional des volcans d'Auvergne, southeast of the puy de Sancy. It flows generally southwest. It is a left tributary of the Dordogne into which it flows at Bort-les-Orgues.
In Newsweek Ryan Bort recounted various historical messages as being cries for help, or "final, poetic words of resignation left behind for (an) indifferent sea", or from "lonely, lovelorn souls, searching for serendipity", or a search for "affirmation ... that comes from somewhere other than yourself". Bort described sending a message in a bottle as a romantic act that has "such a delicious potential for magic" or as "surrendering a part of yourself to something larger", concluding that "every message in a bottle is a prayer". Finding a bottled message has generally been viewed positively, the finder of a 98-year-old message referring to his find as winning the lottery. However, intense media attention over a personal relationship that resulted from one woman's find, is said to have caused her to remark that had she known what would happen, she would have left the bottle on the beach.
'The Irish Border: History, Politics, Culture' By Malcolm Anderson, Eberhard Bort, pg. 96 The leaked report included, accurately, the Boundary Commission recommendation that parts of east Donegal would be transferred to Northern Ireland, plus several other small tracts (see list here). Only 1 in every 25 Northern Irish Catholics would have been placed under Free State rule. The Boundary Commission's recommendations would have shortened the border by 51 miles (approx. 18%).
The song was covered with lyrics in Swedish by Schytts as Jamaica farväl, scoring a 1979 Svensktoppen hit. Streaplers recorded a 1967 Swedish-language version of the song, with the lyrics "Långt långt bort". Their version became a 1968 Svensktoppen hit. German translations are Abschied von Kingston Town (Farewell from Kingston Town) by Bruce Low and Weil der Sommer ein Winter war (For the Summer was a Winter) by Nana Mouskouri.
Like ballas diamond, carbonado lacks cleavage planes and its specific gravity varies widely from 2.9 to 3.5. Bort diamonds, found in Brazil, Venezuela, and Guyana, are the most common type of industrial-grade diamond. They are also polycrystalline and often poorly crystallized; they are translucent and cleave easily. Because of its great hardness and strong molecular bonding, a cut diamond's facets and facet edges appear the flattest and sharpest.
This was prepared by Hildebrandsson, Riggenbach, and Leon Teisserenc de Bort, members of the Clouds Commission of the International Meteorological Committee. It consists of color plates of clouds, mostly photographs but some paintings, and text in French, English, and German. The plates were selected from among 300 of the best color photographs of clouds provided by members of the commission. The atlas has remained in print since then, in multiple editions.
He founded the band Yann with musicians Vicente "Fony" Font (lead vocals), José Soriano (keyboards), Marino Hernández (bass), and Vicente Alcañiz (drums). In Madrid in 1974, they recorded Bort's songs, with some lyrics by Juan Beltrán Pilato, for a demo version of what was intended to be the band's debut album. With Alcañiz, Bort took the tapes to London, where they were heard by EMI's A&R; director Joop Visser.
It was released on Bort's own label, Bambule. He continued to perform and tour in Europe, Latin America, and Japan, and on one occasion performed for U.S. Marines heading for Vietnam on an aircraft carrier moored at Valencia. In 2012, he released the album Charly Buffalo, in honour of his friend Vicente Ausina."El último acorde de Eduardo Bort, pionero del rock progresivo español", El Pais, 27 February 2020.
In 1989 he wrote the short story collection Å legge til - at alt er borte, and a second collection, Denne brannen, alltid, came in 1995. In 1996 he wrote the novel Utmark, about an outsider who returns home from a journey. His children's books include three picture books about the hare baby "Klumpen", Over jordet from 1998, Rundt jordet from 2000, and Bort frå jordet from 2003 - illustrated by Akin Düzakin.
Until 1939, they drove, at a reduced price, every spring and summer, compatriots in the country. A special atmosphere prevails in these wagons, as it should be between Auvergnats: Cabrette and snack, Bourrée on the platform at each stop. These trips will pass to Riom-ès-Montagnes in 1923. Two axes intersect in the city, the axis Mauriac / Condat and the axis Bort-les-Orgues / Murat / Saint- Flour.
Harding Smith instructed him to start this, members bringing both legally held guns and dummy weapons. In 1971, many local loyalist groups merged to form the Ulster Defence Association. Its core components were the Woodvale and the Shankill Defence Associations,Steve Bruce, "Unionists and the Border", in Malcolm Anderson and Everhard Bort, The Irish border: history, politics, culture, p.129 the Woodvale organisation being the largest of its forerunners.
The act became known as Thorsten Flinck & Revolutionsorkestern, releasing their self- titled album Thorsten Flinck and Revolutionsorkestern in 2011. The album contained new interpretations of works by Townes van Zandt and Nick Cave, as well as pieces from the Sweden as rock music and as ballads. "Långt bort högt upp i det blå" ("Far Away High into the Blue") was released as single. In recent years, Flinck has often been accompanied by guitarist Kenny Håkansson.

In February 1877 General Chanzy encouraged the Missions Commission to give Soleillet the subsidy he had requested to go to Timbuktu in one of the annual native caravans. In 1877 Ferdinand de Lesseps began defending the railway project. In December 1877 a new cabinet included several supporters of Saharan penetration including Jules Armand Dufaure, Léon Teisserenc de Bort, Charles de Freycinet and Georges Perin. In April 1878 Soleillet was granted a subsidy of 1,000 francs.
Jordan High School comprises two campuses. The main campus serves students from grades 10-12 and select 9th graders in special programs. The second campus, known as the Jordan Freshman Academy, was constructed in 2001 and serves the incoming 9th grade students. Referred to as "The Freshman Academy" or "Baby Jordan" by students, it is located at the site of the former Dominguez Mercy Hospital at 171 W. Bort Street, Long Beach, California.
Jacques de La Palice (or de La Palisse) (1470 – 24 February 1525) was a French nobleman and military officer. His full name and titles were Jacques II de Chabannes, Lord of La Palice, of Pacy, of Chauverothe, of Bort-le-Comte and of Héron. In 1511, he received the title of Grand Master of France. As a Marshal under Francis I, he fought against Italian armies, and died during the battle of Pavia.
Once very used, rail transport is still active thanks to the Gentian express, touristic train that circulates in Haute-Auvergne, stops in Riom-ès- Montagnes station and partially takes the old line of Bort-les-Orgues to Neussargues . This line was inaugurated on July 5, 1908. Louis Bonnet, creator of the "Auvergnat de Paris" was a forerunner in what is nowadays called "organized trips". In 1904, he created the trains that bear his name.
One of the first persons to use weather balloons was Léon Teisserenc de Bort, the French meteorologist. Starting in 1896 he launched hundreds of weather balloons from his observatory in Trappes, France. These experiments led to his discovery of the tropopause and stratosphere. Transosondes, weather balloons with instrumentation meant to stay at a constant altitude for long periods of time to help diagnose radioactive debris from atomic fallout, were experimented with in 1958.
Some of the imagers included in the trials were manufactured by the French SAGEM and Thomson companies. Kamov was forced to consider foreign analogues as a temporary replacement for domestic imaging systems because of their slow development."Ka-50N". kamov.net. Trials led to two "final" versions: Ka-50N "Night Shark" (, "velvet belly lanternshark") and Ka-50Sh (, "ball"; because of the spherical FLIR turret). The first Ka-50Sh, which was the 8th pre- production aircraft, Bort 018, first flew on 4 March 1997.

After several hours, LAPD SWAT entered the home early the next morning, and found Honeycutt dead. Bort Escoto, who coached Honeycutt for four years at Sylmar High School, said that "he was a great kid to be around. But he was having some problems", because in Russia he didn't know the language and the surroundings, concluding that "he was basically having a hard time with the adjustment. I just kept telling him he needed to get out and meet people".
30 served under one regime, 18 under two regimes and 9 under 3 regimes. Werner de Merode and Charles-Pierre-Paul Paulmier were deputies under four regimes: the July Monarchy, French Second Republic, Second French Empire and French Third Republic. Eight became ministers: Louis Buffet, Charles de Morny, Lionel de Moustier, Auguste de Talhouët-Royt and Adolphe Vuitry under the Second Empire, Louis Decazes, Eugène de Goulard and Pierre Edmond Teisserenc de Bort under the Third Republic. Jules Grévy was elected president of the Republic in 1879.
Between 1998 and 2001, 125 Swedes were said to have left the scene out of 133 assisted by Exit - although there were some issues with claims made by the organisation, as well as accusations of improprieties relating to funds. The Swedish group was founded by former neo- Nazi Kent Lindahl. Lindahl also wrote the book Exit: min väg bort från nazismen (Swedish for Exit: my way out of Nazism) where he describes his time inside the neo-Nazi skinhead scene and how he got out of it.
In 1963, she won a talent competition hosted by Bildjournalen, and she represented Sweden in a singing competition in Riccone, Italy. She sang the song "I valet och kvalet", which was written by Owe Thörnqvist. In 1968, she entered fourth place on Svensktoppen with the song "Tre små ord och jag förlåter", the same year she had her big breakthrough with the song "Vilken härlig dag". After that followed hit singles "Amors pilar", "Ole Okay", "Ding dång jag hör bröllopsklockor" and "Sjung bort bekymren".
No known naturally occurring substance can cut (or even scratch) a diamond, except another diamond. The market for industrial-grade diamonds operates much differently from its gem-grade counterpart. Industrial diamonds are valued mostly for their hardness and heat conductivity, making many of the gemological characteristics of diamond, including clarity and color, mostly irrelevant. This helps explain why 80% of mined diamonds (equal to about 100 million carats or 20 tonnes annually) are unsuitable for use as gemstones and known as bort, are destined for industrial use.

Models of the aircraft carrier project are showing Su-57 on board, with folding wings and stabilators. The Su-57 should be able to use the takeoff ramp as well as the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System. The aircraft is used as a testbed for integration with UAVs as well as various subsystems (including weapon, control and navigation systems) being developed for Russia's future sixth-generation combat system, both in manned and unmanned version. In January 2019, it was reported the third flyable Su-57 prototype (bort.
Other players on the table immediately argued that Friedman had made the call in time and that the hand is live, including Chicago poker player Mike Mustafa. A floor supervisor was called over and had enforced the original ruling, stating that "If the guy wanted to make a decision he could have made it at 5, he gave him to 0, it's a dead hand". In later interviews, Friedman had stated that the reason he called at 0 was that while he believed Bort had a strong hand, he did not know what Bort considered a strong hand to be and therefore was indecisive about his two pairs. Friedman had also confirmed that if he had a winning hand he would have argued the point that he called at 0, but since the ruling stated it was dead at 1 he left it alone to keep himself in the tournament. He made it through Day 2, but was ultimately eliminated early on Day 3, thus failing to cash. As of 2010, Friedman's total live tournament winnings exceed $2,300,000. His 5 cashes as the WSOP account for $713,372 of those winnings.World Series of Poker Earnings , worldseriesofpoker.
Even though Jorge Juan together with José Barnola drew up detailed plans for developing the port after the royal decree, it was only in 1788 that the three dry docks were completed by Julián Sánchez Bort and Tomás Muñoz. By the late 18th century, the Penal de las Cuatro Torres prison, the barracks and the munitions factories were built. A church (Nueva Iglesia) and the Puerta de Tierra beside the Caño Sancti Petri were added in the Neoclassical style. The naval complex had facilities for ship building, equipping, and repair.
Pioneer settlers came in 1862 to Section, in large numbers. Settlers were required to live on the land for five years before claiming the property as their own. It became known later as "Section" because it was the location of a square-mile parcel of land, known as the 16th Section, required by the federal government to be set aside in support of public schools. Bort Harrison ran a 6-horsepower, water- powered flour and grist mill in 1886, and the first store in the community was built in 1889.
He was the son of an engineer. He began his scientific career in 1880, when he entered the meteorological department of the Bureau Central Météorologique (Administrative Centre of National Meteorology, a department of the French government) in Paris under E. E. N. Mascart. In 1883, 1885 and 1887 he made journeys to North Africa to study geology and terrestrial magnetism, and during this period published some important charts of the distribution of pressure at a height of 4,000 metres. Between 1892 and 1896, Teisserenc de Bort was chief meteorologist to the Bureau.
Publication of the first edition was arranged by Hugo Hildebrand Hildebrandsson, Albert Riggenbach, and Léon Teisserenc de Bort, members of the Clouds Commission of the International Meteorological Committee aka International Meteorological Organization (now the World Meteorological Organization). It consists of color plates of clouds, and text in English, French, and German. Consequently, it had separate title pages in each language and is known also by its alternate titles Atlas international des nuages and Internationaler Wolkenatlas. These were selected by the Clouds Commission, which also included Julius von Hann, Henrik Mohn, and Abbott Lawrence Rotch.
About 80% of mined diamonds (equal to about 100 million carats or 20 tonnes annually) are unsuitable for use as gemstones are relegated for industrial use (known as bort). Internet Archive synthetic diamonds, invented in the 1950s, found almost immediate industrial applications; 3 billion carats (600 tonnes) of synthetic diamond is produced annually. The dominant industrial use of diamond is in cutting, drilling, grinding, and polishing. Most of these applications do not require large diamonds; in fact, most diamonds of gem-quality except for their small size can be used industrially.
Reflecting his intent, the literary merit of the work is the most important criterion, but if possible the prize is awarded to a young writer, 35 at the most.Anne Oterholm, "Tarjei Vesaas Debutantpris 2009!", Den norske Forfatterforening 2 March 2010 Halldis Moren Vesaas wrote of the establishment of the prize in her memoir, Båten om dagen (1976): :Så snart Tarjei fekk visst at han skulle få denne prisen, hadde han sagt at han ville gje bort dei pengane. Dei skulle settast av til eit stipendfond, det som seinare fekk namnet Tarjei Vesaas' debutantlegat.
Having demonstrated the feasibility of the balloon probe, which he gave the name of weather balloon, and thanks to the support of the Union Aerophile de France, they then launch a series of balloons capable of carrying more than 10,000 meters a nacelle weighing several kilograms containing recording devices which inaugurated a series of international scientific ascents. In 1898 Léon Teisserenc de Bort organized the beginnings of systematic sounding of the atmosphere at the Trappes Observatory of Dynamic Meteorology . Gustave Hermite died on November 9, 1914 in Bois-Colombes, a suburb of Paris.
Bassignac is located some 35 km north-east of Tulle and 10 km south by south-west of Bort-les-Orgues. Access to the commune is by the D922 road from Ydes in the north which passes through the length of the commune and the village and continues south to Mauriac. The D12 comes from Veyrières in the west and goes down the western border joining the D922 at Vendes. The D512 branches off the D12 and passes through Parensol continuing north to join the D922 south of Ydes.
Atmospheric science has been extended to the field of planetary science and the study of the atmospheres of the planets and natural satellites of the solar system. Experimental instruments used in atmospheric science include satellites, rocketsondes, radiosondes, weather balloons, and lasers. The term aerology (from Greek ἀήρ, aēr, "air"; and -λογία, -logia) is sometimes used as an alternative term for the study of Earth's atmosphere; in other definitions, aerology is restricted to the free atmosphere, the region above the planetary boundary layer. Early pioneers in the field include Léon Teisserenc de Bort and Richard Assmann.
212 He gained his greatest notoriety in 1986 when he was one of the three founders of Ulster Resistance.Ulster Resistance from CAIN Subsequently, Foster abandoned political life to concentrate on his work as a Free Presbyterian minister, having decided that the policies of the DUP were becoming too liberal.Malcolm Anderson and Eberhard Bort, The Irish Border: History, Politics, Culture, p. 132 He formally announced his resignation from the party in 1989, adding particular criticism of the close relationship between Paisley and Ulster Unionist Party leader Jim Molyneaux, which Foster felt was compromising DUP independence.
On 10 June 2014, the fifth flying prototype, aircraft T-50-5, was severely damaged by an engine fire after landing. The pilot managed to escape unharmed. Sukhoi stated that the aircraft will be repaired, and that the fire "will not affect the timing of the T-50 test program". On 24 December 2019, the first serial Su-57 (bort number "01 blue") crashed 110–120 km away from the Dzyomgi Airport, Khabarovsk Krai, during the final stage of its factory trials due to malfunction of the control system.
He is also credited for popularizing the field of meteorology, and played a significant role in several scientific newspapers and magazines during his career. From 1884 until his death, Assmann published the popular monthly magazine Das Wetter (The Weather). With Léon Teisserenc de Bort (1855–1913), he is credited as co-discoverer of the stratosphere, as both men announced their discovery during the same time period in 1902. In 1903, with meteorologist Arthur Berson (1859–1942), he was awarded the Buys Ballot Medal by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences.
Scientific data taken from this ascent was beneficial to research being performed by Richard Assmann (1845-1918) and Léon Teisserenc de Bort (1855-1913) in regards to their subsequent discovery of the stratosphere in 1902. With Schrötter and Berson, he participated in tests involving the physiological effects of sub-atmospheric pressure, using a decompression chamber installed at the Jüdisches Krankenhaus (Jewish Hospital) in Berlin. With Julius von Hann (1839-1921), he was the author of the Hann/Süring: Lehrbuch der Meteorologie, a textbook that was used for several generations by students of meteorology.
While many reviews of Waywords and Meansigns celebrate the project for its uniqueness and ambition, other reviewers find the project's massive scope daunting. The project has been lauded for its digital distribution platform, utilizing Creative Commons licensing to freely distribute audio. Writing for The Guardian, Billy Mills described Waywords and Meansigns as one of many Internet-based projects helping to make Joyce's famously obscure novel more approachable. While premiering advance audio from the second edition, Bort of Tiny Mix Tapes wrote "this massive undertaking will provide an endless supply of head scratches and cheers alike to its undertakers".
In the richest imperial province of 17th-century Spain, Flanders, florid decorative detailing was more tightly knit to the structure, thus precluding concerns of superfluity. A remarkable convergence of Spanish, French and Dutch Baroque aesthetics may be seen in the Abbey of Averbode (1667). Another characteristic example is the Church of St. Michel at Louvain (1650–70), with its exuberant two-storey facade, clusters of half-columns, and the complex aggregation of French-inspired sculptural detailing. Six decades later, the architect Jaime Bort y Meliá was the first to introduce Rococo to Spain (Cathedral of Murcia, west facade, 1733).
Some 1,3,4-xathiazol-2-one heterocycles have demonstrated selective inhibition of proteasomes in Mycobacterum tuberculosis and humans. Oxathiazolones HT1171 and GL5 (right) selectively inhibited the M. tuberculosis 26S proteasome and were over 1000-fold less effective on the human proteasome even in high concentrations. Various 5‐styryl‐oxathiazol‐2‐one heterocycles have also been tested as anti- tubercular agents because of their ability to inhibit the M. tuberculosis 26S proteasome. A Bortezomib derived 1,3,4-oxathiazol-2-one (bort(L)-oxathiazol-2-one, right) selectively acts against the human proteasome rather than bacterial proteasomes, much like Bortezomib.
He was born Pierre Tournadre on 21 January 1930 in Bort-les- Orgues in the department of Corrèze. He began his theatrical career at 25 in Elle est folle, Carole at the théâtre du Palais-Royal. In 1956, he played in the musical comedy Irma la douce by Alexandre Breffort and Marguerite Monnot and then made his film debut in Les Truands, where he adopted his stage name, Tornade. The next year, he played a theater role in Pericles, Prince of Tyre before joining the Branquignols troupe of Robert Dhéry, which also included Jean Lefebvre, Michel Serrault and Micheline Dax.
Archbishop Walter de Coutances built a toll house on the Isle of Andeli in the Seine, which was used to collect fees from ships that traveled up and down the river. The manor was an important income property for the diocese, as their other properties had been badly damaged by the ravages of war and were not of much value. The treaty concerned the territories of Turenne, Berry, Auvergne, Périgord, Angoumois, Toulouse, and Normandy. The agreement included the seaport of Dieppe, the manor of Bouteilles, the manor of Louviers itself, and the forest timber rights to Alihermont and Bort.
Apchon is located some 80 km south-west of Clermont-Ferrand, 25 km north-west of Murat, and 30 km south- east of Bort-les-Orgues. Access is by the D3 road from Riom-ès-Montagnes in the north-west passing through the north of the commune to Murat in the south- east. Access to the village is by the D49 which branches off the D3 north-east of the commune and passes through the village then south to Saint-Hippolyte. There is also the D249 from the village south-west to join the D263 south of Collandres.
As the hardest known naturally occurring material, diamond can be used to polish, cut, or wear away any material, including other diamonds. Common industrial applications of this property include diamond-tipped drill bits and saws, and the use of diamond powder as an abrasive. Less expensive industrial-grade diamonds, known as bort, with more flaws and poorer color than gems, are used for such purposes. Diamond is not suitable for machining ferrous alloys at high speeds, as carbon is soluble in iron at the high temperatures created by high-speed machining, leading to greatly increased wear on diamond tools compared to alternatives.
Approximately 90% of diamond grinding grit is currently of synthetic origin. The boundary between gem-quality diamonds and industrial diamonds is poorly defined and partly depends on market conditions (for example, if demand for polished diamonds is high, some lower-grade stones will be polished into low-quality or small gemstones rather than being sold for industrial use). Within the category of industrial diamonds, there is a sub- category comprising the lowest-quality, mostly opaque stones, which are known as bort. Industrial use of diamonds has historically been associated with their hardness, which makes diamond the ideal material for cutting and grinding tools.
Climatic data taken from simultaneously released unmanned sounding balloons agreed with the information gathered from the Berson/Süring ascent. Now scientists such as Richard Aßmann no longer had any reason to distrust temperature readings taken from unmanned balloons, an important factor that led to the discovery of the stratosphere by Aßmann and Teisserenc de Bort in 1902. Another important aspect of high-altitude flight involved physiological problems that balloonists could experience when exposed to conditions at great heights. Here, Berson assisted physiologists Hermann von Schrötter and Nathan Zuntz with pioneer experiments in the field of aviation medicine.
He also carried out investigations near Viborg in Denmark 1902-1903Léon Philippe Teisserenc de Bort, Hugo Hildebrand Hildebrandsson, H. Maurice, Ragnar Holm & Martin Jansson, Travaux de la Station Franco-Scandinave de Sondages Aériens à Hald 1902-1903, 1904., in Sweden and over the Zuider Zee, the Mediterranean and the tropical region of the Atlantic, and fitted out a special vessel in order to study the currents above the trade winds. He was elected a fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society in 1903, honorary member in 1909, and was awarded the Symons Gold Medal of the Society in 1908. He collaborated with Hugo Hildebrandsson in Les bases de la météorologie dynamique (1907).
Once the show moved into its European second leg, more Working on a Dream songs began to sporadically appear, with "My Lucky Day" becoming a regular for a while and "Queen of the Supermarket" getting its first airing anywhere. For Scandinavian shows, as band members walked on stage, Lofgren opened with solo accordion performances of local summer-themed specialties, "Idas Sommarvisa" in Sweden and "Du skal ikkje sova bort sumarnatta" in Norway. Jay Weinberg did the first seven shows, as his father was now beginning The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. Springsteen and the band perform before a sea of flags at the Glastonbury Festival on June 27, 2009.
" Andrew Burgess of musicOMH said, "He's lived it long and hard, and with this album Bradley continues to lay out all the goodness and badness of life and love, with soul to spare." Ryan Bort of Paste said, "If you were a fan of No Time for Dreaming you're going to be a fan of Victim of Love, and you shouldn't really need to know anything about it other than it's an album full of Charles Bradley songs." Dean Van Nguyen of Pitchfork said, "Victim of Love is ultimately a less successful record than No Time for Dreaming. For one, Bradley seems less connected with this set.
On 18 January 2019, the third flyable Su-57 prototype (bort no. 053) was spotted wearing a new digital camouflage paint scheme, with digital silhouette of the Okhotnik on its top and underside and a unique markings on the vertical tail showing the shape of a UCAV flying alongside the shape of Su-57 with a lightning bolt (universally used to show electronic connectivity and data sharing) between the two. On 24 January 2019, first flyable prototype of the drone was seen towed at the NAPO plant. According to Russian officials, the Su-57 is being used as a flying laboratory for the testing of the Okhotnik's avionics systems.
Another six years passed until constructions upwards continued; the cathedral would be finished in October 1467. Nevertheless, the cathedral continued to evolve until the 18th century, demonstrating a variety of artistic styles. The interior is largely Gothic in style; the facade is Baroque and it was designed by the Valencian architect and sculptor Jaume Bort i Meliá. The heart and the entrails of King Alfonso X the Wise are buried under the main altar of the cathedral, as he indicated in his testament, as a gift and proof of his love to Murcia and in thanks to the fidelity that the city showed to him.
She later received an Honorary Doctorate for the work from Glasgow Caledonian University. In early 2010, Riddoch co-founded the think tank, Nordic Horizons with Scottish Government funding – which has brought Nordic experts and specialists to Scotland to share social policy insights and experiences. In 2013, Riddoch published Blossom: What Scotland Needs To Flourish, in which she relates stories of Scots who have struggled against the odds to improve their communities and makes comparisons with the Nordic nations to suggest ways forward for Scotland. 2017 saw the publication of McSmorgasbord: What post- Brexit Scotland can learn from the Nordics written in partnership with Eberhard Bort.
Further studies include novel features such as a variable azimuth stub wing, a biplane stub wing/canard configuration, additional fuselage hardpoints, ejecting exhaust on either side of the tail to reduce the heat signature, making the forward firing gun depressible and single seat as well as two seat configurations. Specification weight was 4000 kg empty and 6500 kg takeoff. The first V-80 prototype (Bort 010) left the Kamov Helicopter Plant in June 1982. On 17 June, for the first time, test pilot Nikolay Bezdetnov performed a hover in the V-80 and on 23 July the V-80 made its maiden forward flight.
Amazon developers decided on the name Alexa because the X in the end of the name makes the word appear symmetric and appealing, and the hard consonant sound makes the product name more easily remembered with more accuracy and precision (Bort, Julie). Shortly after the Amazon Echo release, Amazon announced Alexa Fund in June 2015, in which they invested in companies that made voice control devices. This fund ended up investing over $100 million in several companies that made products like the Amazon Echo. Since the release of the Amazon Echo in early 2014 the company, Amazon, has developed many similar devices that they have released into the artificial intelligence and technological markets.
Centers of action are extensive and almost stationary low or high pressure areas which control the movement of atmospheric disturbances over a large area. This does not mean that the position of the center is constant over a specific area but that the monthly atmospheric pressure corresponds to a high or a low pressure. The French meteorologist Léon Teisserenc de Bort was the first in 1881 to apply this term to maxima and minima of pressure on daily charts. The main centers of action in the Northern Hemisphere are the Icelandic Low, the Aleutian Low, the Azores/Bermuda High, the Pacific High, the Siberian High (in winter), and the Asiatic Low (in summer).
Whitcombe played against Namibia in Windhoek in August 1992 as part of the preparations for the forthcoming Springbok tour of England. He played against Wales 'A' at Pontypool RFC on 14 October 1992, prior to playing against Naas Botha's South African Springboks at Elland Road Leeds on 10 November 1992. (This was the first Springbok tour after the Apartheid era.) With the Northern Division Whitcombe played against Toulon and US Colomiers in August 1993 at Bort-les-Orgues and eighteen months later against Northern Transvaal (now the Blue Bulls) at Loftus Versfeld and against Namibia again at the National Rugby Stadium in Windhoek, in summer 1995. With the Northern Division he toured Zimbabwe & Namibia in 1992, France in 1993 and South Africa & Namibia in 1995.
Singer Sara Li left the group in 2010 to focus on her solo career. Sheelah disbanded in 2011. In January 2014, Caracola was relaunched with Vendela Hollström, Ebba Knutsson and Sannah Johansson. Caracola attained a number of Top 10 singles in Sweden, with "Överallt" (2006), "Sommarnatt" (2006), "Glömmer bort mig" (2006), "Mango Nights" (2007) and "Smiling in Love" (2008). On February 23, 2008, they participated in the third semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2008 with the song "Smiling in Love". After finishing within the top half of their semi-final but not within the top-quarter, they got through to the round called 'Andra Chansen' ('Second Chance') on March 8, but lost in a head-to-head vote against Ola's "Love in Stereo".
In 2006 Hubbard was Visiting Professor in Scottish Literature and Culture at the University of Budapest (ELTE). Thereafter, he edited the Online Bibliography of Irish Literary Criticism (BILC) at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth (2006–2010) and in December 2009 he was appointed the Lynn Wood Neag Distinguished Visiting Professor of British Literature, University of Connecticut for the Spring Semester of 2011. In 2011/12 Hubbard was Professeur invité at Stendhal University, Grenoble, and a Writer-in-residence at the Château Lavigny in Vaud, Switzerland. Hubbard is on the editorial board of the journal Scottish Affairs, and an honorary visiting fellow at the University of Edinburgh Institute of Governance, where he is working on a "Scotland and Europe" project with Dr Eberhard Bort.
Anthony Chabot Regional Park opened in 1952 as Grass Valley Regional Park, originally named for the dominant geographic feature of the northern part of the park, Grass Valley. In 1965 the park was renamed in honor of Anthony Chabot, the builder of Lake Chabot and Oakland's first public water system. The lands that make up the park were originally ancestral land of the Jalquin, an Ohlone and Bay Miwok speaking tribe. The lands were divided by the Mexican land grants in the 1840s, the southern portion of the park to Rancho San Lorenzo and the northern portion to Rancho San Antonio. In the 1860s American settlers ranched the area including the 525-acre Grass Valley Ranch located in the area that is today Bort Meadow.
He noticed that while the air temperature decreased steadily up to approximately 11 kilometers of height, it remained constant above that altitude (up to the highest points he could reach). In other words, he discovered an indication of a temperature inversion or at least of a zero lapse rate above this altitude. For many years he was uncertain whether he discovered a true physical phenomenon or whether his measurements suffered from a systematic bias (indeed, the first measurements did have a positive temperature bias as the instruments were liable to radiative heating by solar radiation). That is why Teisserenc de Bort carried out 200+ more balloon experiments (with a substantial part of them being held during the night to eliminate radiative heating) until 1902, when he suggested that the atmosphere was divided into two layers.
Jean-Philippe Nicolaux then decided to devote himself exclusively to Auvergnat Cola and to split it off from Julhes in early 2010. Seeking a business partnership for both production and distribution, he found Philippe Audebert, CEO of Audebert Boissons (beverages), a company founded in 1901 in Bort-les-Orgues by Jacques Audebert to sell lemonade and wine. Audebert already had an extensive distribution network and a bottling plant and in March 2011 acquired Auvergnat Cola, which has replaced their Le Bougnat brand of soft drinks; they now use that brand name only for their beers.Lydie Anastassion, "Auvergnat Cola: bouteille en verre et nouveau propriétaire", L'Hôtellerie-Restauration, 17 June 2011 Bougnat Cola had launched as a rival a few months after Auvergne Cola, although the brand name had been registered in 2004.
However, the diamond-cutting trade that for so many decades influenced and defined the local people's lives is now all but a relic from bygone days, with the last diamond-cutting shops going out of business in the 1990s. All that is left of the industry now are two diamond cutters who work bort diamonds for industry, and that as a secondary occupation only. In December 1998, the new Diamond-Cutting Museum was dedicated in Brücken.Brücken’s diamond-cutting history With the diamond- cutting trade's death, Brücken became a residential community for employees in the most varied of occupations, many of whom must seek livelihoods outside the village. Within the village, however, are no fewer than six inns, a butcher’s shop, building companies and building supply companies and small businesses such as those in the field of electrical and electronic products.
He is probably best known for his voice roles as Beany Boy, Crowy and Uncle Captain Horatio K. Huffenpuff in Beany and Cecil, Oliver Hardy in the Laurel and Hardy cartoon series, Crazy Claws in The Kwicky Koala Show, Bort in The Mighty Orbots, Wimper in Clue Club and as Dr. Wilmer Scarab in Bionic Six. He also voiced various characters in many other cartoon series and worked as a writer for Jay Ward Productions. He appeared on camera in shows including Get Smart as Stan Laurel, Semi-Tough, Happy Days and the feature film Teenagers from Outer Space. MacGeorge has reprised his role only as Uncle Captain Huffenpuff in The New Adventures of Beany and Cecil produced by DiC Entertainment and directed by John Kricfalusi, better known for his work on The Ren and Stimpy Show.
Rotch and Leon Teisserenc de Bort, discoverer of the stratosphere, made extensive upper-air kite measurements from ships in the tropical and sub- tropical North Atlantic. These permitted publication in 1911 of a chart of aerial routes, thus pointing the way to the feasibility of transatlantic air travel aided by air patterns. Rotch became the first director of the observatory and maintained it at his own expense until his death in 1912, when he bequeathed it to Harvard University with an endowment of $50,000. Under Rotch's leadership, the Blue Hill Meteorological Observatory quickly became famous for its pioneering studies of the upper atmosphere. The study of cloud heights, directions and velocities that Rotch carried out at the Blue Hill Observatory made significant contributions to the knowledge of clouds in the early years of the 20th century.
Julie Bort, Matt Weinberger "Google's Project Vault is a tiny computer for sending secret messages" , Business Insider, NYC May 29, 2015 However, since plaintext input and output are still visible to the host system, malware can monitor conversations in real time. Kites used to fly a meteograph Meteograph used by the US Weather Bureau in 1898 U.S. Bureau of Standards personnel launch radiosonde near Washington, DC in 1936 US sailors launching a radiosonde during World War 2 The first flights of aerological instruments were done in the second half of the 19th century with kites and meteographs, a recording device measuring pressure and temperature that was recuperated after the experiment. This proved to be difficult because the kites were linked to the ground and were very difficult to manoeuvre in gusty conditions. Furthermore, the sounding was limited to low altitudes because of the link to the ground. Gustave Hermite and Georges Besançon, from France, were the first in 1892 to use a balloon to fly the meteograph. In 1898, Léon Teisserenc de Bort organized at the Observatoire de Météorologie Dynamique de Trappes the first regular daily use of these balloons.
The commune of La Tour-d'Auvergne is located on the west slope of the Massif du Sancy, at the southwestern extremity of the Puy-de-Dôme departement. It is 60 km (37 miles) away from Clermont-Ferrand and is crossed by the départementale 203 linking the A89 motorway and the départementale 2089 to Besse-et-Saint-Anastaise and Issoire. La Tour-d'Auvergne was the chef-lieu of the canton until 2015, and was composed of eight communes (La Tour-d'Auvergne, Bagnols, Puy-de-Dôme, Cros, Puy-de- Dôme, Trémouille-Saint-Loup, Chastreix, Saint-Donat, Picherande and Saint- Genès-Champespe). On the Artense plateau, which extends itself in between Cantal and the Tarentaine river south, the dam retention of Bort-les-Orgues, the Corrèze and the Avèse gorges west, La Bourboule and Mont-Dore glacier valley north and the massif du Sancy east, La Tour-d'Auvergne is an ancient village which holds its foundations on a basaltic piton, an old vestige of a volcanic flow of the massif du Sancy when it was a volcano, more than 250 000 years ago.
He was born of poor parents at Bort, Limousin (today in Corrèze). After studying with the Jesuits at Mauriac, Cantal, he taught in their colleges at Clermont-Ferrand and Toulouse; and in 1745, acting on the advice of Voltaire, he set out for Paris to try for literary success. From 1748 to 1753 he wrote a succession of tragedies (Denys le Tyran (1748); Aristomene (1749); Cleopâtre (1750); Heraclides (1752); Egyptus (1753)), which, though only moderately successful on the stage, secured Marmontel's introduction into literary and fashionable circles. He wrote a series of articles for the Encyclopédie evincing considerable critical power and insight, which in their collected form, under the title Eléments de Littérature, still rank among the French classics. He also wrote several comic operas, the two best of which probably are Sylvain (1770) and Zémire et Azore (1771). In the Gluck-Piccinni controversy he was an eager partisan of Piccinni with whom he collaborated in Roland (Piccinni) (1778) and Atys (1779), both using Jean Baptiste Lully's libretto by Quinault as basis, Didon (1783) and Penelope (1785).
