On December 31, 2006, New Year's Eve of 2007, The Bomboras played a return show in Hollywood. The Bomboras played a full set of songs at The Wild'O Fest in Mexico City June 16, 2018.

The Bomboras are an American all-instrumental surf band from Los Angeles, California, United States. The band was formed in the summer of 1994, sharing a love of 1960s surf and garage music such as The Ventures, Booker T, and The Sonics. Donning Day of the Dead regalia onstage, the fivesome tempered their retro-stylings with an update by way of The Ramones, The Pandoras, and Nuggets. Accompanied by frenzied Go Go girls, spitting flames, stage-diving, and destroying their own equipment, the Bomboras’ livid funhouse take on surf rock became an object of fan adoration, albeit a worry to the local fire department.

Rob Zombie started Zombie-A-Go-Go after watching a performance by The Ghastly Ones upon returning from a tour with his band White Zombie. The first albums released under Zombie's label were Head Shrinkin' Fun by The Bomboras and A Haunting We Will Go-Go by The Ghastly Ones in June 1998.

In 2009, the band added drummer Dave Klein, who had previously recorded with numerous bands including the Bomboras, Ghastly Ones and the Seeds/Sky Saxon. Former bassist Liles died on January 18, 2007, and former bassist Levesque died on October 19, 2014. Founding member and former bassist Steve Soto died on June 27, 2018.

Von Franco is also known for his distinctive pinstriping and hand-lettering techniques. He was also the guitarist in the surf band The Bomboras and played the vibraphone in The Hyperions. He designed two bicycles for GT Bicycles, The Von Franco (orange) and the Taboo Tiki. He is a member of the Beatniks Koolsville car club.

The Bomboras took their name from a classic surf instrumental by the Original Surfaris (not to be confused with a different song with the same title, "Bombora," by the Australian surf combo The Atlantics) and released several albums on Burbank-based indie label Dionysus Records between 1995 and 1997. In summer 1997 Rob Zombie took notice of the band and signed them to his then newly formed Zombie a Go-Go label, which was distributed by Geffen Records. The Bomboras finally called it quits in 2000 with some of the members forming the Lords of Altamont and some members formed The Legendary Invisible Men. Drummer Dave Klein is currently playing drums with legendary surf/punk band Agent Orange and produces bands at Dave Klein Recording, his private studio in Los Angeles.

Dave Klein is an American producer, composer and musician with over 25 years' experience as professional drummer, bassist and keyboardist. Recorded and toured throughout North America, Europe, Asia and South America with Agent Orange, Sky Saxon and The Seeds, The Ghastly Ones, Woolly Bandits and The Bomboras and has worked with Rob Zombie and producers Scott Humphrey, Barry Adamson and Christopher Wade Damerst. Owner and operator of Dave Klein Recording, his private studio located in the hills of Highland Park, California.

Juveniles lack these obvious colours, and must be identified by more detailed anatomical features such as fin ray and scute counts. The bluefin trevally inhabits both inshore environments such as bays, lagoons and shallow reefs, as well as deeper offshore reefs, atolls and bomboras. Juveniles prefer shallower, protected waters, even entering estuaries for short periods in some locations. The bluefin trevally is a strong predatory fish, with a diet dominated by fish and supplemented by cephalopods and crustaceans as an adult.

The label released the final album from American instrumental band The Bomboras, as well as the debut album from the Ghastly Ones. Both albums were released on June 2, 1998 though received little critical or commercial success. The label next released the compilation album Halloween Hootenanny (1998), featuring appearances from artists such as Reverend Horton Heat and Rocket From the Crypt. Zombie himself contributed the song "Halloween (She Get So Mean)" to the soundtrack, which had previously appeared on promotional releases of "Dragula" (1998).

Queenscliff was named in honour of Queen Victoria. The area was popular with holiday- makers from the early 1900s to World War I, who stayed in holiday shacks on the headland.The Book of Sydney Suburbs, Compiled by Frances Pollon, Angus & Robertson Publishers, 1990, Published in Australia , page 216 Queenscliff is famous amongst the Australian surf beaches for its "heavy" waves (bomboras) that break out at sea. The stories recounting how Dave Jackman dared to ride one in 1961 gave rise to big wave surfing in Australia.

The current lineup consists of Jake "The Preacher" Cavaliere, lead vocalist and Farfisa organ, Dani Sin, guitar, Rob "The Garbageman" Zim, bass guitar, and Barry 'the Hatchet' van Esbroek on drums. The story of the band has its proper start in late 1999. Veterans of the SoCal music scene Jake Cavaliere and Johnny Devilla, late of the instro/surf juggernaut The Bomboras, were looking to form something new. Max Eidson, Doran Shelley, and Gabriel Hammond rounded out the original lineup known as "The First Five".

The Lords of Altamont are a rock and roll band from Los Angeles, California. The band mixes the sounds of '60s garage and psychedelic rock, American punk rock, British rhythm and blues and glam combined with B-movie biker exploitation imagery. Past and present line-ups of The Lords of Altamont have included members of The Bomboras, The Fuzztones, The MC5 and The Cramps. As of 2017 the band has released six albums on various labels including the newest, The Wild Sounds of the Lords of Altamont, on Heavy Psych Sounds Records.

Adults tend to prefer more exposed, deeper settings such as outer reef slopes, outlying atolls and bomboras, often near drop offs, with the species reported from depths up to 183 m. Adults often enter shallower channels, reefs and lagoons to feed at certain periods during the day. The bluefin trevally displays some habitat partitioning with giant trevally, Caranx ignobilis, tending to be more common outside the major bays than their relatives. Juvenile and subadult bluefin trevally have been recorded in estuaries in several locations, and generally occupy large, open estuaries up to the middle reaches of the system.

Older individuals tend to move to deeper seaward reefs, bomboras and drop-offs away from the protection of fringing reefs, often to depths greater than 80 m. Large individuals, however, often return to these shallower waters as they patrol their ranges, often to hunt or reproduce. In Hawaii, the juvenile to subadult giant trevally is the most common large carangid in the protected inshore waters, with all other species apparently preferring the outer, less protected reefs. It is also easily attracted to artificial reefs, where studies have found it to be one of the predominant species around these structures in Taiwan.

Dones also quit in 2001 to be replaced by bass player Marcel Loera of The Vindicators and the band finished working on the demos that eventually became the Surfabilly Rock album, released in 2002 on Sunspot Records. In 2006, lead guitar player Ricky Sepulveda was replaced by Paul Feldman. Lawndale played an unannounced reunion show with all original members in 2006, with The Rick Lawndale Band and Saccharine Trust also on the bill and the Lawndale guys decided to continue without Waddell after that show, adding Mark Hoeschler (Bomboras, Boardwalkers, Revellators) on guitar and bass. The Rick Lawndale band started working on a new CD in 2008.

Jake Cavaliere (born Jacob William Cavaliere, April 5, 1972 in Downey, California) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, producer and tattoo artist. He is best known for being the frontman and lead vocalist for Southern California rock and roll band Lords of Altamont, as well as his contributions as organ player and vocalist for the surf and garage combo The Bomboras. Often known as 'The Preacher', Jake started his career in music while still attending high school with San Diego-based garage band Eastern Green and has also spent time on tour with The Cramps as Poison Ivy's guitar technician in the mid 2000s. Recruited in 2007 by former MC5 bassist Michael Davis, Jake is also a member of the non-profit organization, Music is Revolution.
