Her curse towards her owner differs between adaptations but does not play an essential role in the story due to Haruaki's immunity to curses. Konoha's status as a Cursed Tool has almost been lifted, but when she sees blood for an extended period of time a relapse can occur towards a blood-thirsty personality with blue hair and eyes similar to Fear. Konoha tends more though to faint at the sight of blood as a result of hypnosis that was self induced in order to keep her blood lust from overwhelming her.
36 According to Francis Edward Peters: > The conquests destroyed little: what they did suppress were imperial > rivalries and sectarian bloodletting among the newly subjected population. > The Muslims tolerated Christianity, but they disestablished it; henceforward > Christian life and liturgy, its endowments, politics and theology, would be > a private and not a public affair. By an exquisite irony, Islam reduced the > status of Christians to that which the Christians had earlier thrust upon > the Jews, with one difference. The reduction in Christian status was merely > judicial; it was unaccompanied by either systematic persecution or a blood > lust, and generally, though not elsewhere and at all times, unmarred by > vexatious behavior.
Afraid of Houko abandoning her if the curse was lifted, Houko confirms her unwavering support for Yamane. ; : :The elder sister of Yamane Byouinzaka and the professor's assistant, she's initially cold and heartless towards Iwai, but eventually treats her kindly. Houko allowed herself to be Yamane's "Instead" as a way to relieve her from the blood lust due to the pressure of Killing Goods that she possesses by allowing Yamane to inject her with a saline solution as a way to act out the latter's murderous intent. It is hinted that she has gotten so used to it, that she develops a kind of masochistic arousal.

US edition (left) and UK edition. (lit. 'Blood for Blood: The Reawakening of the Vampires'; UK edition – Vampires: The World of the Undead; US edition – Vampires: Restless Creatures of the Night) is a pocket-sized book on vampirology published by Éditions Gallimard in 1992 in the series of their collection. Jean Marigny traces in four chapters the history and evolution of this creature in legends and literature, from antiquity to the gaslit streets of London: the origins of the myth, the reference to Greek mythology in particular, confusion with the undead, fears related to the plague in Medieval times... (chap. I, "Blood Lust"); the Church recognised the existence of the living dead (chap.
J. Peter Wells, an exposé writer, arrives on an island off the coast of South America, to complete a book on voodoo, ju-ju, macumba, mojo and other cult beliefs, which he believes are responsible for unsolved murders on this island. Wealthy landowner Venis de Vias warns him against stirring up the natives, especially any efforts to lessen the prestige of the reigning Voodoo Queen Mama Rata-loi. The arrival of Wells' daughter, Sara, and her husband, Warren, on a honeymoon trip, starts the pot boiling and making the natives restless, along with Queen Mama Rata-loi, who wants Warren and his friends (including Peter) to satisfy her own sexual appetite and blood lust.
She also develops a strong friendship with Ion Fortuna, even offering to let him feed on her after he's sent into a blood lust by Dietrich. She blames herself for Abel's apparent death and stays by his casket for several days, not once leaving his side until Mary Spencer consolidates her to visit their dying grandmother. In the anime, this was changed to Virgil Walsh, and at first she still refuses to leave, despite learning she is the heir to the throne, but she hears Abel's voice and it gives her the strength to go. She is also a witness to Abel's revival by Tres and another battle between Abel and Cain.
Martin tricks her into giving in to her blood lust killing him and becomes the youngest full Red Court vampire. Harry then kills her on the sacrificial altar, triggering the Red Court's powerful bloodline curse against the Red Court themselves and wiping out every Red Court vampire older than Susan. The majority of Red Court vampire victims in St. Giles became fully human, but having had drastically extended lifespans, most of them immediately died. In any case, even if a few young Red Court vampires remain they are too young, weak, and inexperienced to hold the Red Court's position in the monster hierarchy leaving a void eager to be filled by others.
He became the leader of the revisionist school of historians who challenged the Marxist account of the French Revolution as a form of class struggle. As other French historians of his generation like Jacques Godechot or Emmanuel Le Roy Ladurie, Furet was open to ideas of English language historians, especially Alfred Cobban. Likewise, Furet frequently lectured at American universities and from 1985 onwards taught at the University of Chicago. In his first work on the Revolution, 1966's La Révolution, Furet argued that the early years of the Revolution had a benign character, but after 1792 the Revolution had skidded off into the blood lust and cruelty of the Reign of Terror.
Rachel and Timothy have been unaware that the rest of the family are "good" werewolves who have guarded Timothy and his secret since birth. They know that Timothy is a "half-blood" who is prophesied to end the curse. But they also know that Timothy's power will put him in danger, for there are other werewolves that revel and embrace their blood-lust and are bent on finding and killing the boy. Four of these werewolves are a motorcycle pack—leader Varek (Jason Behr), and cohorts Zo (Kim Coates), Sonya (Natassia Malthe), and Grenier (Rogue Johnston), who use a hawk as an airborne spy—who track down Timothy in the small town of Huguenot, precipitating the movie's extended chase.
While expository like the other sections, this portion of the novel for the most part seems to plateau or bring the conflicts and rising action to a lull. The reader is left wondering why we are introduced to yet another set of characters that seem for the most part not tied to any of the other sections, and are far less dynamic as characters. Yet, Silko seems to be deliberate in the ways she paces out this chunk of the book. The bold imaginative histrionics are tuned down (outside of Clinton's passages), but as readers we see how many of the characters in Part Three mirror the power and blood lust of those found in Part Two.

Later in the same interview Reid said of the murders: > "I was the last C.I.D. inspector to be appointed by Sir Howard Vincent, and > after about three years at Scotland Yard I was sent to form the detective > department of a new division, the 'J,' which extended from Bethnal Green to > Chigwell Hill in Essex. I remained there for twelve months, and was then > sent to take charge of the Whitechapel division, where I found some exciting > work in the series of 'Ripper murders'.
Critical reception for the film has been mixed to negative. Allmovie gave the film a mixed review stating, "Filled with all sorts of anti-nuclear mumbo jumbo bred straight out of the Cold War Reagan era, Future Kill is slightly interesting for its relative place in history, but better viewed as '80s trash cinema whose long life on home video spawned more memories of its box art than anything else." Felix Vasquez Jr. from Cinema Crazed gave the film a negative review calling the film, "immensely dated and standard science fiction punk flick from the era of leather jackets and Mohawks". TV Guide awarded the film 2 out of 4 stars stating that it "serve[d] no purpose but to sate juvenile blood lust and to take people's money".
In the spin-off series, Legends of Tomorrow, Sara is recruited by Rip Hunter to a time travelling team of rejects aimed at defeating the immortal villain Vandal Savage. Before she departs, Laurel gives Sara the White Canary name and outfit to signify her new start. Over the course of the first season, Sara continues her battle with blood-lust; sets in motion the events that will lead to her own rescue by Nyssa; romances many women throughout history; and develops a flirtatious relationship with Leonard Snart, with the two sharing a kiss in an episode near the end of the season where Snart sacrifices himself for the team. The Legends return to 2016 a few months after they left and Sara is devastated to learn of Laurel's murder.
She is also the student who comes up with Koro- sensei's name. At the start of winter, she reveals her true identity to be professional method actress Akari Yukimura, the younger sister of Aguri Yukimura, the former Class 3-E teacher. Believing Koro-sensei to be her sister's killer, she stole and implanted tentacles from Shiro's facility onto the back of her neck and changed her identity in order to infiltrate Class 3-E, using her acting skills to hide her extensive blood lust from everyone until she was ready to make her move. However, using her tentacles in battle puts her life at risk, just like what happened with Itona, and before she dies, Koro-sensei manages to remove them from her body once Nagisa calms her down with a French kiss, shocking her to the point of passing out.

With Litzwire and Jannotta establishing families, the band called it quits after 2004 doing only the occasional Bobgoblin reunion show during the next few years. In 2009–2010, inspired by renewed socio-political angst, the band returned to the Bobgoblin moniker and to its more abrasive influences to begin working on new songs. In 2011, only able to record a little bit at a time because of professional time constraints, Bobgoblin's power-pop sound returned when it released the first part of a proposed longer record, an EP called "Love Lost for Blood Lust," which it completed and released as an LP in 2014. Bobgoblin is currently recording a classic-arcade tribute EP, which is expected to be released in 2014, that is taking concepts from the band member's favorite video games of their youth and mixing them with social commentary.
Peasants were paid in money and salt for the heads of nobles Bideleux and Jeffries (2007) are among the dissenters to that view, citing Alan Sked's 1989 research that contends that "the Habsburg authorities – despite later chargers of connivance – knew nothing about what was going on and were appalled at the results of the blood-lust." Hahn notes that during the events of 1846 "the Austrian bureaucracy played a dubious role that has not been completely explained, down to the present day." The peasants also aided the Austrian army in defeating the insurgents at the battle of Gdów. Peasants attacked the manor houses of the rebel noble leaders as well as of suspected rebel nobles and killed many hundreds of the estate owners and their families; about 90% of the manor houses in the Tarnów region are estimated to have been destroyed.
Damon, on the other hand, drank Katherine's blood willingly, wanting and desiring the immortal life in order to spend an eternity with Katherine. In 1864, Stefan was turned into a vampire after being shot by his father, Giuseppe, along with his brother, Damon with Katherine's blood in his system, before accidentally killing his father during a visit to tell him that he was going to let himself die. Damon, who turned into a vampire as well, promised Stefan an eternity of misery as he was angry that Stefan had forced him to turn and jealous that Katherine had also turned Stefan. A newborn vampire with uncontrollable blood lust, Stefan was unable to resist the temptations of human blood and became severely out of control and addicted (later on known as the Ripper) to the blood, killing many people because of his lack of control and extreme bloodlust.
It looks at the Ainu, an indigenous people who live on the island of Hokkaido and were often portrayed as vicious savages (much like Native Americans in Westerns). As the hero of the film challenges an owner to prove his own Ainu heritage, the film raises questions about the necessity of preserving a culture. In the words of the critic Jasper Sharp: “Bold, beautiful, and packing a powerful dramatic punch, there is little else quite like it.” In The Master Spearman (Sake To Onna To Yari) (1960) a shogun kills himself, and rituals dictate that his samurai must also commit seppuku; however one young ronin refuses to follow this code and retreats to the country, only to be lured back into the service of the spear. Uchida gently tweaks audience expectations, as a character bemoans a crowd’s blood-lust, only to reward them with a violent ending.

Temple excavations at Luxor discovered a "porch of drunkenness" built onto the temple by the pharaoh Hatshepsut, during the height of her twenty-year reign. In a later myth developed around the annual drunken Sekhmet festival, Ra, by then the sun god of Upper Egypt, created her from a fiery eye gained from his mother, to destroy mortals who conspired against him (Lower Egypt). In the myth, Sekhmet's blood-lust was not quelled at the end of the battle and led to her destroying almost all of humanity, so Ra had tricked her by turning the Nile as red as blood (the Nile turns red every year when filled with silt during inundation) so that Sekhmet would drink it. The trick, however, was that the red liquid was not blood, but beer mixed with pomegranate juice so that it resembled blood, making her so drunk that she gave up slaughter and became an aspect of the gentle Hathor.
" The Hollywood Reporter wrote that Wood's "forever-young face, often an asset in projecting innocence, is here a sign of a man-child emotionally interrupted, as he stalks down women and removes their scalps in a rampage that begins shortly after the death of his mother." Megan Lehmann, who watched the film at the Cannes Film Festival for The Hollywood Reporter, wrote in her review, "Wood's limpid saucer eyes are used here to telegraph unhinged blood-lust and insanity, even if only sporadically, as he plays a sicko with mommy issues who scalps his female victims. The twist, and what helps elevate the nasty, no-holds-barred Maniac from the grindhouse to an out-of-competition midnight-screening slot in Cannes, is that the entire movie is shot from the killer's POV – we only glimpse Wood in reflection and in photographs. It's a daring decision, potentially stripping the film of the suspense of not knowing where the killer is and obliquely inviting the audience to have empathy with him.
