In another example of the neighborhood's distaste of Al during "You Better Shop Around", after he blacked out everyone's houses during a heatwave, the neighbors attempt to attack him with pitchforks and torches. Other people pay little to no attention to him and, as a result, his name often ends up misspelled on paychecks, reserved parking spots, etc. (e.g., "Bumby", "Boondy" or "Birdy"). Despite being a somewhat phlegmatic and slow person, Bundy has a sarcastic and cynical sense of humor; he also has a definite love for his family.

However, this was revealed to not be the case, but Tiff altered the picture upon discovering the truth so that the Cappies still thought it was true. Nevertheless, Tokkori refused to be seen as royalty anymore, once again preferring to have things to complain about. He is voiced by Fujiko Takimoto in the Japanese version and by Kevin Kolack in the English dub.
Mike Wass of Idolator compared the instrumetation to the later work of Lana Del Rey, Låpsley and Birdy. An EP featuring remixes by Blu J, Gazzo, Jerry Folk and Aire Atlantica was released in January 2017. Dan Regan of Billboard favored Jerry Folk's remix over the others, saying it "punches you right in the face with its wall of vocal harmonies", and further says "silence weighs heavy throughout, adding weight to every note as it drips from the speaker into your brain". Lyrically, “Six Feet Under” is described as "somber" and "delicate" like "Ocean Eyes".

Ferraro successfully auditioned for the fourth season of The X Factor in 2012, singing Skinny Love, with a treatment based on the version by Birdy. She was inspired to audition for the show after seeing the success of One Direction on the UK version. The Star commented that the team's desperation was evident, suggesting that "the nadir probably reached when a van circled the field pulling a flatbed which bore B.J. Birdy, a massive plastic rodent, two dancing bears and a man firing T-shirts into the stands with a bazooka." Shanahan retained ownership of the character, despite initial attempts to sell the rights and costume to the club. Shanahan was called into a meeting with the senior vice-president of marketing for the Toronto Blue Jays, Terry Zuk; the two apparently had not met before.

Beautiful Lies received generally positive reviews from critics. At Metacritic, the album received a score of 73 on Metacritic based on four reviews. Allmusic senior editor Neil Z. Yeung commended Birdy's "evolution from acoustic covers singer to confident and powerful artist" and stated, that the album "brings a depth that pulls Birdy from Ingrid Michaelson territory and into a scene occupied by Lorde, Florence, and Lana (Del Rey)." He felt that "with more life, richer texture, and an inspiring attitude, Beautiful Lies is Birdy's declaration that she is more than able to make her mark in the big leagues and join the ranks of the alternative pop pantheon".
Clampett did two more shorts with the "naked genius", as a Jimmy Durante-ish cat once called him in A Gruesome Twosome. The second Tweety short, Birdy and the Beast, finally bestowed the baby bird with his new name, and gave him his blue eyes. Many of Mel Blanc's characters are known for speech impediments. One of Tweety's most noticeable is that /s/, /k/, and /g/ are changed to /t/, /d/, or (final s) /θ/; for example, "pussy cat" comes out as "putty tat", later rendered "puddy tat", and "sweetie pie" comes out as "tweetie pie" (a phonological pattern referred to as 'fronting'), hence his name.
Creed also came to join the Upstarts, a group of wealthy and powerful individuals who had been brought together by Selene and the enigmatic telepathic Gamesmaster with the sole purpose of killing mutants for points in a twisted game. After learning of his parents' identities, Creed sought to kill them as part of the Upstarts' game. Disguised as the armored Tribune, Creed hired assassins to kill his mother and had his father implanted with a bomb. His father managed to remove the device and confronted his son, who callously stabbed Sabretooth's assistant Birdy, a mutant telepath whom Sabretooth employed to keep his homicidal rages in check.

On the central rotunda, four small statues of the Roman god protector of merchants and travelers Mercury with winged feet, based on an Italian work of Renaissance style, were successively erected, but not exactly at the same place. The statue was first stolen in 1902, notably removed during the Second World War, stolen again three days after its inauguration in April 1995, and eventually reinstalled in October 1996. The third copy of the statue was the work of Giambologna. Until 2011, the plinth lay empty before playing host to an unofficial installation of modern art-street graffiti from the creator of "Birdy Kidz", which was subsequently removed some months later.

As the radar typically used conical scanning in order to keep itself pointed at the target (radar lock- on), and the missile guided itself by centering itself in this beam, this caused it to always fly directly at the target. It was also found in early laser-guided bombs with the aerodynamically stabilized seeker/guidance ("birdy") on the front of the bomb. The birdies sit on a universal joint and thus will point in the direction of the relative wind. If the laser receiver is placed on this wind stabilized reference, the angle that the laser is off the wind vector is the same as is measured relative to the centerline of the seeker.
There was no mention of a new Green S.P.D. Ranger. In the first half of the two-part Operation Overdrive episode "Once a Ranger", it is revealed that an unknown amount of time after the finale of S.P.D., Cruger is promoted to Supreme Commander when Fowler Birdy retires, bringing about the subsequent promotions of Sky Tate to Commander of S.P.D. Earth, and Bridge Carson to B-Squad's leader as the Red Ranger. It is unknown if he kept his Shadow Ranger powers, or if he passed them down to Sky when Sky was promoted to his old position. The Shadow Ranger was also not among the veteran Rangers who appeared in Super Megaforce.
HAEVN was formed when film soundtrack composer Jorrit Kleijnen and singer-songwriter Marijn van der Meer met while working on a film score. This collaboration resulted in the songs "Where the Heart Is" and "Finding Out More", which appeared in a BMW commercial. The songs reached the international charts through Shazam, after which the duo decided to work out full songs with Tim Bran of Dreadzone, who has also produced music for the British band London Grammar and the artist Birdy. A long-haired dark grey tom with a lighter grey muzzle and a tuft of lighter grey fur on the top of his head, Husker is a patriarch of sorts of the family of barn cats Graystripe and Millie discovers in Warrior's Refuge. He is the mate of Moss and the father of Birdy, Pad, Raindrop, and Little Mew. He offers shelter to Millie and Graystripe after Millie's eyes are injured in the cornfield close to the barn where he and his family live. He explains that he and his family used to live with a family of kind, elderly Twolegs, but when they died, a new Twoleg family moved in and chased the cats away.

But the majority of his inspiration came from the film score album, Birdy by Peter Gabriel which served as the foundation for the island scenes in the film. On creating the sound for Tomb Raider, Holkenborg combined a bunch of different animals sounds to create a canvas for the score, and then worked on top of that. He then employed an original approach with director Roar Uthaug, with an emphasis on raw sound design and music to portray the journey of Lara, one of which was through the use of strong percussion to give that sense of grittiness and realism. Scoring took place over two days at AIR Lyndhurst Studios in London, with the London Studio Orchestra conducted by John Ashton Thomas.

The song gives an account of a fight between John "Steeleye" Span and John Bowlin, neither of whom is proven to have been a real person.

The above list may be incomplete, and subtle references may be found in songs not included above, especially Pink Floyd songs such as "Fearless", which would be more explicit in "Brain Damage" and songs in The Wall such as "Hey You" and "Nobody Home". Some claimed Barrett references turn out to be spurious. The Shamen credit their song "It's All Around" to Barrett and some bands, like Jennifer Gentle, are named after Barrett songs (in this case, from a line in "Lucifer Sam"); two bands are known as Baby Lemonade. Italian band Birdy Hop is named after a Syd Barrett song; the title of their debut album, Welcome To The Insanity Ride, recalls a line from "Octopus" and producer and singer-songwriter Amerigo Verardi has been compared to Barrett.

After the 1999 season, the Blue Jays' original mascot for 20 years, BJ Birdy, was replaced by a duo named Ace & Diamond. On November 8, 1999, Toronto traded star outfielder Shawn Green to the Los Angeles Dodgers for left-handed relief pitcher Pedro Borbón and right-fielder Raúl Mondesí. Green had told the Jays that he would not be re-signing when his contract was up at the end of the year (he wished to play closer to his home in Southern California). 2000 proved to be a similar season, as the Jays had an 83–79 record, well out of the wild card race but only a slim 4½ games back of the three-time defending World Series Champion Yankees in the AL East, the first time since 1993 they had contended for the division.

Skycam is the original, elevated cable-controlled camera system that was invented by Garrett Brown in 1984; who also invented the body-mounted Steadicam system. Because of its ability to carry heavy loads and provide smooth, precise camera movements and maintain steady camera positions, the Skycam and CableCam-type systems are primarily used as a remote-controlled camera, for mobile television productions, at major stadium events. The Skycam utilizes the buildings superstructure to anchor its cable and pulley system. The cable- mounted Skycam system can also be installed outdoors, using construction cranes that are supported by light stainless steel guy-lines,Interview with Garrett Brown, by Wiki editor HamiltonFromAbove as was done in the 1984 Hollywood film "Birdy", starring Matthew Modine and Nicolas Cage.

Delta Air Transport, which the Sabena slots had been transferred to, briefly considered taking over Sobelair's 767s for the re-launch of scheduled passenger flights to Africa (instead, Birdy Airlines was founded for that purpose), and German tour operator Preussag went into negotiations concerning a taking-over of the airline, which were dropped again in February 2002. After having been acquired by a group of investors in June 2002, which led to the launch of scheduled flights on the Brussels-Johannesburg route, Sobelair was passed on to SN Brussels Airlines in early 2003, for which it operated charter flights henceforth. This did not lead to an improvement of the financial situation, so that Sobelair had to declare bankruptcy in early January 2004. TUI Travel placed an offer for taking over Sobelair's aircraft in order to create a Belgian airline subsidiary, provided that creditor protection would be granted.

José, Michael, Piere and Fritz were confused — they didn't know who Iago and Zazu were because they never "flew to the movies", considering that they didn't get out much as they were rather "attached to the place". But Iago warned them not to get "too attached", as both he and Zazu were the new owners, shocking the birds, and, to give them an example of how the songs should be sung, he began singing a song to the tune of "Friend Like Me" from Aladdin. He said that since the Tiki Birds were ancient history and he was a big "cele-birdy," he was going to change the show so that a more modern audience could appreciate it, warning the birds that they'd better get hip or their audience would disappear forever. Exterior of the attractionZazu told Iago to stop — the Tiki Gods could hear him.
