In 1809 much of the friary had to be vacated for the billetting of soldiers. The unrest caused the community to drop to 13 in 1815, but the numbers later picked up again and the friars were able to resume their work in Lienz. The National Socialist period caused difficulties.

Shortly after his accession, Jehangir published a decree remitting certain taxes, and also in cases of robbery fixing the responsibility on the landowners of the place where the robbery was committed. The decree also renewed Akbar's decree forbidding soldiers billetting themselves forcibly in cultivators' houses. Finally, it directed that dispensaries and hospital wards should be opened in all large towns. In the early days of Jehángír's reign disturbance was caused in the neighbourhood of Áhmedábád by Bahádur a son of Muzaffar Sháh.

Talleyrand had advised Napoleon to pursue milder terms; the treaties marked an important stage in his estrangement from the emperor. Until 1812, the French occupants requisitioned in money and kind from various corporations and persons, especially by billetting soldiers on cities, further contributions additionally amounting to between 146 and 309 million francs, according to different calculations. The Prussian government indebtedness soared between 1806 and 1815 by thaler 200 million to altogether 180.09 million interest-bearing debts, 11.24 million non-interest-bearing unconsolidated treasury notes and another 25.9 million former provincial debts assumed by the royal government.

These were known as Blaxland, Lawson and Wentworth, named after the three explorers Gregory Blaxland, William Lawson and William Wentworth, who were pioneers and explorers and are known for discovering the Blue Mountains area. The team colours were respectively yellow, red and blue. The teams competed against each other in in-school sports carnivals and other activities such as marching competitions which involved the entire team, all ages. The school also participated in school carnivals against a sister school known as Wahroonga Christian Academy, which often involved the billetting of students amongst the CEC families as the carnival usually lasted more than one day.
