For a play set now, in New York City, the Betties are curiously incurious, as if Ms. magazine and "Our Bodies, Ourselves" never happened.

As the Betties help one another grow past their imposed limitations, whether cultural, sexual, marital or otherwise, they are creating, even within a spoof, solidarity.

Before you quite realize the resonances, she has cast the other Betties as Moonshine, Lion, Wall and Prologue: the gender-rainbow equivalent of Shakespeare's rude mechanicals.

If you're wondering whether you'll enjoy the revolution, Jen Silverman's "Collective Rage: A Play in 5 Betties," which opened on Wednesday night at the Lucille Lortel Theater in Manhattan, makes an excellent (and hilarious) test case.

Whatcom Pavilion is a 1,200 seat multi-purpose arena located in Bellingham, Washington, United States on the campus of Whatcom Community College. It is home to the Whatcom Community College Orcas and the Bellingham Slam of the International Basketball League, as well as the Bellingham Roller Betties roller derby league.

Mission City Roller Derby was founded in 2009. The league's A-team, the Brawlin' Betties, competed in their first home bout on July 18, 2009 against the Ventura County Derby Darlins. Mission City Roller Derby became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 2013. The league entered the WFTDA Apprentice Program in January 2015, and was made a full member in September of the same year.

Bimbo is brought through a series of mysterious doors that lead him into yet another sub-basement. Bimbo flees through various death traps before landing in front of the mysterious order's leader again. Bimbo still refuses to become a member, but finally accepts the invitation when the leader reveals to be the real Betty Boop and the rest of the society members remove their costumes, showing that they are all Betty clones. Bimbo dances with all the Betties to celebrate.

Lowcountry finished 2011 with a record of 9 wins and 1 loss. In the South Carolina State Championships, they finished second in the state. In 2012, the LCHR All-Stars travel team finished the season with a record of 5 wins and 4 losses, while the Bruisin' Betties B team finished with a record of 5 wins and 5 losses. Although the Ashley Riverdolls won the most home team bouts this season, the Holy City Heartbreakers won the final championship tournament.

On August 23, 2008, Coates made her debut in Women Superstars Uncensored as a villainess and defeated Autumn Breeze in her debut match. Beginning in October, she formed a tag team called the Badass Beauties with Trixxie Lynn. The team made its debut on October 10 in a victory over Annie Social and Rick Cataldo. The following day, the Badass Beauties lost to the Beatdown Betties (Roxxie Cotton and Annie Social) in the first round of a tournament for the vacant Tag Team Championship.

Greensboro Roller Derby is a women's flat-track roller derby league established in 2010 and based in Greensboro, North Carolina. The league consists of three home teams: the Battleground Betties, the Elm Street Nightmares, and the Mad Dollies. Each home team is named after a prominent street in Greensboro. Additionally, the league maintains two travel team, the Gate City All-Stars, which is the WFTDA charter team and competes against other WFTDA teams from around the world in sanctioned game play, and the B team, Counterstrike.

Rose City Rollers is one of the largest modern roller derby leagues in the United States, if not the world. Rose City comprises a multitude of teams at various levels of competition, and hosts games at The Hangar at Oaks Amusement Park, where they draw up to 22,000 fans a year for games. Rose City has two travel teams, the WFTDA-level Wheels of Justice A team, and the Axles of Annihilation B team, plus four home teams, the BreakNeck Betties, Guns N Rollers, Heartless Heathers and High Rollers.

Harris saw his last action on the afternoon of November 12, 1942, when 21 Japanese twin-engined torpedo planes (Mitsubishi G4M1 "Betties") attacked San Francisco's task group near Lunga Point. While commanding the antiaircraft battery on the aft machine gun platform, he directed the fire of his 20-millimeter guns on an approaching Japanese torpedo plane that had been set ablaze by gunfire from the nearby transport McCawley (AP-10). Maintaining heavy fire until the Betty crashed into them, Harris and three of his gun crews died in the fiery crash.

The American variant known as the Betty or brown Betty dates from the PreColumbian era. In 1864, in the Yale Literary Magazine, it appeared with "brown" in lower case, thus making "Betty" the proper name. In 1890, however, a recipe was published in Practical Sanitary and Economic Cooking Adapted to Persons of Moderate and Small Means with the word "Brown" capitalized, rendering "Brown Betty" the proper name. Brown Betties are made with breadcrumbs (or bread pieces, or graham cracker crumbs), and fruit, usually diced apples, in alternating layers.

In September 2009 the league was accepted into the Apprentice Program of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), and in September 2010 they were accepted as a full member league. As of January 2011 the league had over 70 skaters who skated on three home teams, the Utica Clubbers, the Rome Wreckers, and the Blue Collar Betties. The best of those three home teams competed on the CNY All-Stars travel team, which competes for rankings in the WFTDA. The league has a B level team as well, the Wonder Brawlers, introduced in 2012.

The next day, August 6, the Japanese attempt a second raid on the same battle group. On 9 June 1944, Phaon left Eniwetok, arriving on 15 June, at Saipan, for the invasion. There, on "D-Day" plus three, the destroyer came alongside for repairs and many other ships thereafter. As metalsmiths, mechanics, and carpenters from Phaon swarmed over Phelps repairing the damaged boiler, blower, deck and bulkheads, the sturdy warship was still very much in the fight, blasting away at enemy troops and pillboxes. On 24 June, during an air raid by Japanese G4M "Betties", Phaon suffered a near-miss on the starboard side.

Lynea both starred in and helped to direct a 2017 production of The Wild Party at The Other Palace. She then landed roles in Ode to Leeds and Collective Rage: A Play in Five Betties. The Mile High Club began the 2009 season as victors at the Four Corner Feud, a western United States invitational tournament held February 21–22 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The team's skaters "prov[ed] themselves as the fastest-rising force in Western derby." Other leagues competing in the tournament were Tucson Roller Derby, the Pikes Peak Derby Dames, Arizona Roller Derby, Duke City Derby, and the Rocky Mountain Rollergirls. The season opener for the home teams was March 28, 2009 and the season culminated in the league championships, which saw the newly reformed Shotgun Betties beat the reigning champions the Bad Apples.

On S-3 day (6 January 1945), the convoy to which Almaack was attached, steaming through the Mindanao Sea, encountered its first enemy aircraft, a Japanese reconnaissance plane which was being hotly pursued by four F4U Corsairs. The "Corsairs" splashed the enemy about off Almaack's port beam. Vincennes and her sisters next shaped course for Formosa, as the fast carriers shifted their operating area to prepare the way for the upcoming onslaught against the Japanese- occupied Philippine Islands. En route to Formosa, Japanese planes frequently showed themselves, but maddeningly stayed out of range — persistent and pugnacious snoopers that always managed to slip away untouched. On 12 October, the carriers began launching air strikes against Formosan sites; that afternoon, the task group gunners proved exceptional, downing a pair of "Betties" that ventured too close. Vincennes went to general quarters at 18:55 on that day and remained at battle stations almost continuously for the next two days.

Soon red, green, and white flares gave the scene an eerie, ghostly effect, as the Japanese set off pyrotechnics to illuminate the American force. At 19:31, another flight of "Betties" appeared and pressed their attacks on the heavy cruisers steaming in the right van of the task force. Winnipeg is home to the Winnipeg Roller Derby League, a league member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association founded in 2008. The league consists of three home teams (the Backseat Betties, the Corporation, and the Valkyries' Wrath) and two travel teams (the Bombshell Brawlers and the WRDL All-Stars). The WRDL All-Stars are a Women's Flat Track Derby Association charter team, travelling around North America to play other charter teams and competing to climb international rankings. Awareness of this sport continues to grow in Winnipeg, with an inaugural sold-out bout taking place at the Winnipeg Convention Centre in February, 2010 and the league marking its 10th Anniversary Season in 2018.

The next day, the carriers again launched successful strikes on Formosa. During the ensuing night retirement, the formation again came under attack by Japanese torpedo-carrying "Betties" which struck home this time and damaged . The Sullivans then helped to protect the damaged cruiser. Originally formed in early 2005 as the Space City Rollergirls, Houston Roller Derby split from their founding group in the pursuit of an all-skater owned league, after the founding members of Space City attempted to fire the league's coed training team. The new league focused on democratic leadership, with decisions made by committees with elected leaders.
