The Roum fault branches away from the Yammouneh fault at the northwestern part of the Hula Basin. It can be traced from there northwards for about 35 km before becoming indistinct. Movement on this fault has been linked to the 1837 Galilee earthquake. A slip-rate of 0.86–1.05 mm per year has been estimated.

The forewings are shining snow white with the extreme costal edge ochreous, becoming indistinct at around the apex and fuscous at the base. There is a broad light fuscous longitudinal streak along the inner margin, from near the base to the anal angle, and continued right through the cilia, somewhat attenuated anteriorly. The hindwings are pale grey. The larvae feed on Grevillea species, including Grevillea mimosoides.

The monument to the "Fighters of the Revolution" was also restored, being relit on 14 November 2003 with a flame once again taken from the Kirov Factory's furnace. By the early 2000s, with parking and transport around the city becoming problematic, proposals have occasionally been made to build a car park under the Field of Mars. The presence of graves has led residents to oppose these plans. By April 2014 the names on the granite slabs were becoming indistinct.

At this point it is crossed by Stake Pass, a walkers' thoroughfare running from Great Langdale to Borrowdale via the Langstrath. It now sees increased traffic as a part of the popular Cumbria Way long distance route. Beyond the Stake with its small summit tarn the ridge turns east and broadens, becoming indistinct as it crosses Martcrag Moor before rising to the Langdale Pikes. The Mickleden flanks of Rossett Pike rise above an array of green moraines to a tier of crags running below the ridgeline.

Westward it broadens considerably, swinging southward around the head of Codale Tarn before becoming indistinct in the general rising ground towards Sergeant Man and the High Raise massif. Codale Tarn is a shallow pool, its original outlet blocked by a moraine so that it now overflows via a rock lip.Blair, Don: Exploring Lakeland Tarns: Lakeland Manor Press (2003): The southern flank of the fell comprises Tarn and Greathead Crags, the backdrop to the popular picnic spot of Easedale Tarn. Much larger than Codale, this tarn is around 70 ft deep and contains perch, eel and trout.

With change short, hoarding extended to the cent, which also became scarce in circulation. Mint Director Eva Adams felt that part of the reason for the shortage was coin collectors taking pieces from circulation, and Adams ordered that mintmarks no longer appear on coins. Coins continued to be dated 1964 until the end of 1965, using authority given by the Coinage Act of 1965, and almost all 1965 cents were actually struck in 1966. The Mint began striking clad dimes and quarters, replacing the silver pieces which the public would not spend. Although coinage had been stopped at San Francisco after 1955, the California facility began to issue cents again, though without mintmarks. In 1968, mintmarks were restored to the cent. San Francisco began minting a limited number of circulation strikes (which it would cease to do after 1974) and began striking proof coins. By this time the master hub had become quite worn and Lincoln's features were becoming indistinct.

By that time, the storm had developed good outflow, and was in the midst of a period of rapid deepening. Early on March 8, MFR upgraded Hary to tropical cyclone status, and the storm became very compact, with gales extending only from the center. While rounding the northwest edge of a ridge, Hary turned to the southwest late on March 8, toward the northeast coast of Madagascar. After reaching 10 minute sustained winds of 205 km/h (125 mph), Hary weakened slightly due to an eyewall replacement cycle, which resulted in the eye becoming indistinct until it was replaced by a larger outer eyewall. After the new eye formed, the cyclone again intensified, and Hary became a very intense tropical cyclone early on March 10, with peak 10 minute winds of 220 km/h (140 mph), according to the MF. It was the first very intense tropical cyclone since Cyclone Hudah in 2000, and made Hary the strongest storm of the season. Around that time, the JTWC estimated that Hary attained peak 1 minute winds of 260 km/h (160 mph). Around the time of its peak intensity, Hary was located about off the east coast of Madagascar.
