William Price (Stu Brumbaugh) and his friend Jake Munro (Casey Anderson) go together on a hunting trip into the backcountry of Montana. Price is a yuppie who lacks wilderness experience and is distracted by his marital problems. While Price and Munro are attempting to hunt deer, Price accidentally gets lost in the woods, becomes disoriented and is unable to find his way back to his cabin. He has no supplies other than his rifle, a book of matches, a pocket knife and the clothes he is wearing.

He is repeatedly stabbed as he attempts to enter his home, over twenty times total with seven fatal wounds, as they discovered in an ill-performed autopsy performed by the priest. The murder is brutal as Santiago carries his own entrails and enters the back door of his home.

On March 20, 1980 an earthquake of 4.1 on the Richter Scale strikes Mount St. Helens, signalling the first signs of volcanic activity there in 123 years. During the earthquake, a flight of quail becomes disoriented and smashes into the windshield of an Aerospatiale SA341G Gazelle helicopter in use for logging operations. The helicopter's pilot, Otis Kaylor (Ron O'Neal), makes a successful emergency landing, only to be accused of nearly killing a group of loggers. Shortly afterward, United States Geological Survey volcanologist David Jackson (David Huffman) arrives to investigate the activity.

Whilst Peel has the car attended to, Steed makes his way to Boyd where he demands an explanation for how Boyd knew he was going to crash. Boyd implies he thinks he is becoming psychic. The following day on the way to the conference, Boyd begins predicting events, from the button missing on the coat of the butler, and mentioning that he will see a lion before his death. Arriving at the rescheduled conference, Boyd again becomes disoriented but flees this time even before he enters the building and in doing so is killed by a passing car.

After a while, the Matoran team decide to enter the tunnel, their Lightstones fail, and they link themselves with cable and continue to talk to ensure they would not become separated.

A significant danger when skating outdoors on a frozen body of water is falling through the ice into the freezing water underneath. Death can result from shock, hypothermia or drowning. It is often difficult or impossible for the skater to climb out of the water, due to the weight of their ice skates and thick winter clothing, and the ice repeatedly breaking as they struggle to get back onto the surface. Also, if the skater becomes disoriented under the water, they might not be able to find the hole in the ice through which they have fallen.

He spends some two or three years at the front before November 5, 1917 when he is injured during the Third Battle at Ypres, but not before he manages to clear a German machine gun nest by shooting three enemy soldiers in the backs of their heads. Ramsay becomes disoriented and his left leg is torn apart by shrapnel.

Sir Percy gets his comeuppance for his cheating and dirty tricks when he becomes disoriented by the smoke from the locomotive of a passenger train between Calais and Paris, forcing him to land his aircraft on one of the cars. The aircraft is destroyed when the train passes through a tunnel shortly afterward. Newton loses time when he slows down to rescue Ponticelli from his burning aircraft, and comes in second.
