Once on the mountain, states that Jesus "was transfigured before them; his face shining as the sun, and his garments became white as the light." At that point the prophet Elijah representing the prophets and Moses representing the Law appear and Jesus begins to talk to them. Luke states that they spoke of Jesus' exodus (εξοδον) which he was about to accomplish in Jerusalem ().

This was followed by Tex Avery's A Wild Hare, released July 27, 1940, which is considered the debut of Bugs Bunny in full. Avery changed several of the rabbit's characteristics: his voice became a cross between the Bronx and Brooklyn accents, the color of his gloves became white, as did the color of his mouth, and his ears were changed slightly as well. The cartoon was so successful that Warner Bros. decided to keep him on as a recurring character, eventually becoming the studio's most popular cartoon character.

In 1979, Spaeth was a producer for 20/20, where she produced segments on Liberace, gifted children and motorcycle gangs. In the early 1980s, Spaeth was accepted to the White House Fellows program where she was assigned to work under FBI Director William Webster as his special assistant, after which she worked for two years as director of public affairs for the Federal Trade Commission. In 1983, she became White House Director of Media Relations in the administration of Ronald Reagan, serving until 1985. After moving to Dallas with her husband, Spaeth founded Spaeth Communications in 1987.

Her daughter Nora Allen wrote of her: ¨She was a beautiful woman with large brown eyes, dark brown hair, which became white rather early in life, very good features and, to the last, an upright carriage. She had a striking personality and was in many ways an individualist. Her religious outlook was undoubtedly influenced by her husband, for after her marriage she inclined more towards the unorthodox. On account of this, she was "excommunicated" from the Bible Christian Church and returned to the Church of England, in which she had been brought up, though she did not continue as a practising member.

OhioHealth can trace its origins back to 1891, with the creation of Protestant Hospital Association, the fourth hospital in Columbus, and the first not associated with the Roman Catholic Church. In 1922, this hospital became White Cross Hospital, affiliated with the Ohio Methodist Episcopal Conference, but due to financial difficulty during the Great Depression, only the United Methodist Church was able to continue providing support. The hospital grew at a quick pace and in 1958 it broke ground on its current location at West North Broadway and Olentangy River Road. To reflect its new location, the hospital was named Riverside Methodist.

After several deadlocked ballots at the Democratic National Convention and a rousing speech from Santos, President Bartlet threw his support to Santos, as did a key teachers' union leader, which secured the nomination for Santos, with former White House Chief of Staff Leo McGarry as his running mate. Russell's chief of staff and later campaign manager was Will Bailey. Donna Moss also joined his campaign staff, eventually rising to become press secretary. Bailey later became White House Communications Director following the dismissal of Toby Ziegler for a national security violation, while Moss moved over to the Santos campaign.

As part of the downtown revitalization campaign for Indianapolis, the state solicited designs for a distinctive piece of skyline architecture in the tradition of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis or the Space Needle in Seattle. The Pelli tower was to be located in the new Indiana Landing area of Indianapolis (which later became White River State Park). The Pelli design called for an obelisk tall, with a diameter of at the base and at the peak that would "establish the Crossroads of America". As such, the design would have been taller than the Arch, the Washington Monument, and the Statue of Liberty.

And then instantly everything around me became white." At the advice of his former editor Raymond de Becker, Hergé travelled to Zürich to consult the Swiss psychoanalyst Franz Riklin, a student of Carl Jung, to decipher his disturbing dreams. Riklin latched on to the "quest for purity" that featured so prominently in Hergé's dreams, and ultimately in Tintin in Tibet. He told the author that he must destroy "the demon of purity" in his mind as soon as possible: "I do not want to discourage you, but you will never reach the goal of your work.

Toolbar buttons became white and Apple introduced a more compact type of toolbar that removed the window title, but retained the toolbar buttons (for example, in Safari). Certain controls, such as checkboxes and radio buttons, gained animations, whereas animations in other places were removed, such as the "poof" animation when removing an icon from the Dock and the "cube" animation when fast- switching to another user account. Apple changed the system typeface to Helvetica Neue. Yosemite also added a 'dark theme' you can turn on in the settings which makes the dock and menu bar black.

The lineage of Pawhuska continued with his son, White Hair II, but he apparently was an ineffective chief and he was soon replaced by White Hair III, who moved most of the remaining members of the Osage tribe to the Neosho River in Oklahoma in 1822. The Osage subsequently were forced by White and Indian encroachment on their lands to move back to a small reservation in Kansas. White Hair IV (George White Hair) became chief in 1832 and served until his death in 1852, age 48. His cousin Iron Hawk became White Hair V until his death in 1861, also 48 years old.

In October, it moved to Givet and spent the winter there before moving in 1791 to Longwy to assist in the new fortifications being built there. It was here, on 1 April 1791 the regiment was renamed as the 6éme Régiment d'Infanterie de Ligne (Armagnac), although unofficially the Armagnac title remained until its disbandment in 1794. Following the French Revolution, the provisional regulations of 1 April 1791 grouped all regiments minus the foreign regiments into the same uniform category, and the uniform became; white jacket, black facings,black lapels, black cuffs, black trimmed epaulettes, and a black bicorne with the bourbon cockade and white plume.

Leo Africanus wrote that "olive" complexioned people were among the natives of the Adal Sultanate and other kingdoms in the Horn of Africa. According to Richard Smith, Ibn Hawqal, a 10th-century traveller from Baghdad, divides the Berber clans into "the pure Sanhaja and the Banu Tanamak", the latter being "originally Sudan (i.e. black) whose skin and complexion became white because they live close to the North". Smith reports Ibn Hawqal as listing 22 named kinds of Banu Tanamak, but without saying whether they were "political, cultural, geographic, social, or linguistic in nature".

Her first film from 1999, Once Removed, was based on her meeting her mother's family in China and how they were entangled in China's political history and affairs. Her second film, released in 2004, Monkey Dance, tells the tale of three teenage Cambodian- Americans who live in Lowell, Massachusetts, struggling to achieve success under difficult circumstances and all of whom are united under the aegis of traditional Cambodian folk dance, such as the Monkey Dance. Mallozzi's current film investigates the aging of a French-Canadian woman, originally from India, who lost her skin color and became White. Her has also produced media for non- profit organizations to use in fundraising and outreach.

The former Fairmount Avenue station in 1911 After the leasing of the New Jersey and New York Railroad to the Erie Railroad, the history of Fairmount Avenue station remained rather quiet, with minor changes to the station building and site occurring over the next seventy years. By 1966, the station building had been sold off by the Erie Railroad for private usage as Barbara's General Store and Gifts. The former team track had already been removed from the station, and only the main southbound track and partial yard remained on site with the platform. The station building was already repainted orange along the wood siding and the windows, formerly a dark green, became white.

While at first this made the paintings more lustrous and clear, years of heat and humidity and the restriction of normal evaporation for the paintings in situ turned the wax white and deteriorated the painted surfaces. In the Museo Archeologico Nazionale, though they didn't suffer from the same climatological effects, they still became white/crusty. The pigments used in the frescoes are of a very fragile nature and have faded as a result of exposure to UV rays, oxygen, and the environment/elements—especially those left in situ. Disintegration of plaster, and lifting and detachment of the paint has also been caused by the crystallization of soluble salts, such as sodium nitrate, in the surface layers of the frescoes as a result of fluctuating temperatures and humidity, and exposure to atmospheric pollutants.

After the 1992 election, Hubbell was one of the Clinton Administration transition's senior officials, Counsel to the Transition Board and responsible for vetting appointments to the Cabinet and other top positions, among others George Stephanopoulos, Henry Cisneros, and Jim Woolsey, former head of the Central Intelligence Agency and Bernard W. Nussbaum, White House Counsel. After Clinton's inauguration, Hubbell became White House liaison to the United States Department of Justice, arriving at Justice on January 20, 1993. During the period before an Attorney General was approved, Hubbell worked as the assistant to the Attorney General, but reported to Republican appointee, Acting Attorney General Stuart M. Gerson. Clinton considered Hubbell for the Attorney General position on January 30, 1993, after Zoë Baird's name was withdrawn, but Clinton nominated Janet Reno instead.

The Chattahoochee River rises in what used to be Habersham County, as portrayed in Sidney Lanier's poem "Song of the Chattahoochee": :Out of the hills of Habersham, :Down the valleys of Hall, :I hurry amain to reach the plain, :Run the rapid and leap the fall, :Split at the rock and together again. The county, originally comprising much of Northeast Georgia, was cut up dramatically in the latter half of the 19th century and the first years of the 20th century; as population increased in the area, new counties were organized from it and borders were changed. In 1857, its most western part was added to Lumpkin County, which had been created in 1832. That same year, the area east of Lumpkin and west of present-day Habersham became White County.

During the 2005 World Series, a new white banner was introduced. This would resemble a chrome finish, and the team abbreviations became white letters in the team's main color; the next few years, the new banner was adopted for all games. This banner, unlike the 2001–2004 version, would not be removed for the final out of the World Series but was dropped at other critical points (like whenever Alex Rodriguez came to bat, tied with an April record 14 home runs, and when Barry Bonds had 753). Beginning with the 2006 NFL season, Fox's other properties, the NFL, NASCAR, the Bowl Championship Series, and Formula One, again upgraded their graphics packages (Formula One used a different graphics package than the other three properties), but baseball broadcasts continued to use this on-screen design in 2007.

Chris died in 1982, making Howard the sole owner. It was then that Howard Gilman began to spearhead additions to the White Oak property, investing $154 million to build the Baryshnikov Dance Studio, a conference center, a nine-hole golf course, and expansive enclosures and buildings to raise, breed, rehabilitate and study threatened and endangered species. (White Oak had animals, like roan antelope, before 1982, but it was that year the center officially became White Oak Conservation Center.) Outside of White Oak, Gilman also made large contributions to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Brooklyn Academy of Music. Starting in 1993, the Howard Gilman Foundation hosted a variety of national and international conferences and seminars at White Oak directly related to its three fields of interest: arts and culture, conservation and the environment, and public policy.

Unluckily for the new regiments, it had no combat power directly available, as the 1st battalion was in Belle Île and preparing for deployment to sea, while the 2nd battalion was in Saint-Domingue. On 21 May 1776, a uniform ordnance was announced, and the regimental uniform became; white coat, violet facings, violet lapels, pink collar, violet cuffs, and white buttons, and a white trimmed black tricorne. On formation of the new regiment, a 'garrison' battalion was formed, which became known as the Bataillon de Péronne, which was composed of 4 fusilier companies and a grenadier company, the later joining the Régiment des Grenadiers Royaux de la Picardie in 1778. White Clay Creek Hundred is that portion of New Castle County that lies north of the Christina River and south and west of White Clay Creek, excepting that it also includes the small area west of the Christina River immediately west of Newark, and excludes a larger area north and east of the Christina River generally from the old Pennsylvania Railroad tracks to Cooch’s Bridge. It was formed from Christiana Hundred and New Castle Hundred in 1710 and was named for White Clay Creek that flows along its northern boundary. Originally, the default boundary of Delaware and Maryland was the vague height of land between the Delaware River and Chesapeake Bay drainage basins and White Clay Creek Hundred extended to that point. With the running of the Mason–Dixon line in 1767, the western boundary of Delaware was established in its present location and became White Clay Creek Hundred’s western boundary.

The Wolfenbüttel manuscript in particular provides the following description: > ...having built a furnace right at the front of the ship, they set on it a > copper vessel full of these things, having put fire underneath. And one of > them, having made a bronze tube similar to that which the rustics call a > squitiatoria, "squirt," with which boys play, they spray [it] at the enemy. Another, possibly first-hand, account of the use of Greek fire comes from the 11th-century Yngvars saga víðförla, in which the Viking Ingvar the Far- Travelled faces ships equipped with Greek fire weapons: > [They] began blowing with smiths’ bellows at a furnace in which there was > fire and there came from it a great din. There stood there also a brass [or > bronze] tube and from it flew much fire against one ship, and it burned up > in a short time so that all of it became white ashes... The account, albeit embellished, corresponds with many of the characteristics of Greek fire known from other sources, such as a loud roar that accompanied its discharge.

Certain scholars also claim Alexander Jannaeus of Judaea is alluded to in this book. The end of the book describes the new Jerusalem, culminating in the birth of a Messiah: > And I saw that a white bull was born, with large horns and all the beasts of > the field and all the birds of the air feared him and made petition to him > all the time. And I saw till all their generations were transformed, and > they all became white bulls; and the first among them became a lamb, and > that lamb became a great animal and had great black horns on its head; and > the Lord of the sheep rejoiced over it and over all the oxen. Still another interpretation, which has just as much as credibility, is that the last chapters of this section simply refer to the infamous battle of Armageddon, where all of the nations of the world march against Israel; this interpretation is supported by the War Scroll, which describes what this epic battle may be like, according to the group(s) that existed at Qumran.

Traditional Tomb of Simeon the Just, Jewish Encyclopedia (1906—1913) During Simeon's administration seven miracles are said to have taken place. A blessing rested (1) on the offering of the first fruits, (2) on the two sacrificial loaves, and (3) on the loaves of showbread, in that, although each priest received a portion no larger than an olive, he ate and was satiated without even consuming the whole of it; (4) the lot cast for God always came into the right hand; (5) the red thread around the neck of the goat or ram became white on Yom Kippur; (6) the light in the Temple never failed; and (7) the fire on the altar required but little wood to keep it burning.Yoma 39b; Menachot 109b; Yerushalmi Yoma 6:3 The Mishnah records that during the priesthood of Simeon the Just two red heifers were burnt at the sacrificial place built on the Mount of Olives in the days of Ezra.Parah 3:5 Simeon is said to have held office for forty years.

The film follows Douglass' life from slavery as a young man through to his time in Ireland where he befriended Daniel O'Connell, toured the country spreading the message of abolition and was treated as a human being for the first time by white people. His arrival in Ireland coincided with the Great Famine and he witnessed white people in what he considered to be a worse state than his fellow African Americans back in the US. The film follows Douglass back to America where he buys his freedom with funds raised in Ireland and Britain. Fellow passengers on his return journey include the Irish escaping the famine who arrive in their millions and would go on to play a major role in the New York Draft Riot of 1863 which Douglass could only despair over. The film examines (with contributions from the author of How The Irish Became White Noel Ignatiev amongst others) the turbulent relationship between African Americans and Irish Americans during the American Civil War, what drew them together and what drove them apart and how this would shape the America of the twentieth century and beyond.
