Their lower ranked opponents created several scoring opportunities in the opening stages of the match but were unable to convert any, hitting the crossbar twice. Early in the second half, Cardiff took the lead when Beadles' shot rebounded off the crossbar allowing Len Davies to open the scoring. Willie Davies added a second later in the half as the match finished 2–0.

Lewis and Whitcombe's appearances were their final matches for Cardiff before being released. Ten players scored at least one goal for the club during the course of the season. Len Davies finished the campaign as the club's top goalscorer for the fourth consecutive season, netting 22 times in all competitions despite featuring in only five of the club's final 19 matches due to injury problems. Harry Beadles was the second-highest scorer in his debut season for the club, scoring 14 times.

A new building was provided in Union Place in 1939. After the move to Chatsworth Road, C.G. Stillman's brick structure fell into disuse, and in April 2009 permission was given to demolish it; this happened in October 2009. When the town was incorporated, a combination of beadles, coastguard officers and headboroughs kept order. By the 1840s, a five-strong police force led by a Superintendent was in place; this became part of the newly formed West Sussex Police Force in 1857.

The famous birdseye maple of the sugar maple (Acer saccharum) superficially resembles burr maple, but it is something else entirely. Burl wood is very hard to work with hand tools or on a lathe, because its grain is twisted and interlocked, causing it to chip and shatter unpredictably. The Beadles House was the subject of a Green County Record newspaper article in 1973, which pictured the house in the 1930s. At the time, the house was connected to an exterior kitchen, which is now non-extant, by a small rear addition. During restoration in 2000, a circa 1805 oak log cabin of similar fashion was relocated from West Virginia for an addition on the north side of the dwelling. Originally covered by weatherboard siding, the well preserved American Chestnut logs were exposed.

Jones (1978), p. 5. The first Beadles-Adams dime novel, Malaeska: The Indian Wife of the White Hunter, was based on white hunters and native "savages". This dime novel sold 65,000 copies in just a few months.Jones (1978), p. 5. A dime novel was intended to be read for pleasure. In the later half of the nineteenth century, men and women worked tirelessly caring for children and livestock or working in industry. Dime novel western readers read to escape daily urban life in exchange for some Wild West action and adventure.

His career was interrupted by World War I but he resumed playing for Everton in 1919. He spent two more seasons at Goodison Park before leaving for Cardiff City in October. He was a very useful forward for the Bluebirds and very nearly helped them win the title in 1923–24 but they missed out to Huddersfield Town on goal average. After losing his place to Harry Beadles, he then played two seasons for Stoke City scoring 9 goals in 35 matches and ended his career with Bristol Rovers and then Rochdale.

Gill and Beadles added two further goals after mistakes in the Blackburn defence to give their side an unassailable lead. Blackburn scored a late consolation goal through John McKay but were unable to breach the Cardiff defence again despite sustained pressure. By defeating Blackburn, Cardiff became the first Welsh club to reach an FA Cup final and the first non-English team to do so since Scottish side Queens Park in 1885. Despite recovering from injury, Len Davies was left out of the side with Nicholson keeping his place.

In 1570s, the Court of Aldermen introduced the "provost marshals" when the haphazard police force could not control the city's large population of beggars. In the 17th century, they acquired a regular salaried status, with duties very much like of those of constables, beadles and watchmen, and later also executed warrants of arrest later throughout England and in America. They had been able to prosecute violations of licensing and the city's trading regulations. In the 18th century, they were empowered to investigate and suppress gambling houses, corrupt dealings and connivance.

He moved to Pontymoile, where he worked as a mercer and apothecary. Beadles was described as "extremely prosperous", having £691 in inventory, when most apothecaries had inventories valued up to £10. He became involved in the establishment of Quakerism in the area at the turn of the century and attended the first recorded monthly meeting in the area in 1703. He wrote and translated works about the Quaker movement, including documenting for the Meeting for Sufferings in London the manner in which the movement was developing in South Wales in 1720.

These Beadles are usually assistants to the Company's Clerk, being responsible for attendance on the Court and Master of the Company, originally to enforce its trade policy and uphold discipline (especially among the Company's apprentices) but now to act as Masters of Ceremony at formal banquets and to accompany the Master on civic occasions. The title "Hall Beadle" is sometimes used by the Hall Manager of a Livery Hall responsible for the Company's treasure and the efficient running of the hall, especially if let on a commercial basis.

Oldrents is distressed to find that his daughters have left home; but Hearty prevails upon him to persist in his efforts to be cheerful. The plot thickens with the introduction of Amie and Martin. Amie has fled from the home of her uncle and guardian, Justice Clack, to avoid an arranged marriage with the ridiculous Talboy; she is escorted by the justice's clerk Martin, Hearty's nephew. They have disguised themselves in the clothing of the common people, and travelled toward Hearty's country estate – though they are pursued by Clack's son Oliver and by beadles and other officers.

This meant the earlier ground surveying needed to be repeated. Triangulation tends to be more accurate on the larger scale and in the City the dual approach was very successful but in rural areas there were too few prominent landmarks for triangulation to be effective. Rocque recorded street and place names as the survey proceeded and double checked these by comparing their names with those on earlier maps. For the City of London the Court of Aldermen ordered the ward beadles to assist with this aspect and so the map includes ward boundaries whereas in other areas only parish boundaries are shown.

Barone worked with All- Pro players Alge Crumpler (Falcons) and Antonio Gates (Chargers), and Julius Thomas (Broncos) all of whom made multiple Pro Bowl appearances under his guidance. Kyle Rudolph (Vikings) also was selected to the Pro Bowl after the 2017 season. This feat marked the first time in NFL history that a Tight Ends coach had four players selected to Pro Bowls with four teams. In addition, Barone also coached multiple Pro Bowl caliber players as the Offensive Line coach for the Denver Broncos, including; Ryan Clady, Zane Beadles, Louis Vasquez, Matt Paradis and Evan Mathis.

Manager Fred Stewart, who was entering his tenth competitive season in charge, made several changes to his playing squad with ten players being signed. Harry Beadles had arrived at the club from Liverpool immediately following the end of the previous season and had been part of the club's overseas tour. He had previously had a trial at the club after the First World War which had proved unsuccessful. Several players from local teams were also brought in, including forwards Jack Nicholls, son of Cardiff director Sydney Nicholls who was signed from Newport County, and Willie Davies, signed from Swansea Town for £2,500.

In the late 70s and early 80s McHale acted in literally dozens of television commercials for such brands as Argos, Tesco, British Airways, Fray Bentos, Midland Bank, McVities, Worthington 'E', Tetley's beer, Valspar paints, Ford cars as well as more Guinness commercials. He also worked on numerous corporate films as well as directing at various drama schools. In 1982 he was asked to appear in a hidden camera sketch for the very popular Saturday night show Game For A Laugh. He worked on a number of hidden camera stunts before the show morphed into Beadles About in 1986.

In the City of London the title is held by two distinct groups; both originated as "executors" or police for more senior persons. The first group are the Ward Beadles, who hold the oldest elected office in the City (as functionaries, not as representatives) in their Wards. Their duties today are largely ceremonial in that they accompany the Aldermen in the eight major ceremonies of the civic calendar and open and close the Wardmotes (the election meetings for members of the City's Courts of Aldermen and Common Council). The second group are paid employees of the Livery Companies of the City.

The Doctor and Amy are arrested and taken to Magistrate Isskar, accused of being thieves by Isskar's beadles. They are let go with a warning not to approach the pyramid. Understanding but disobeying the warning, inside the pyramid, the Doctor and Amy meet another tracer, a "sister" of Amy, who already had one of the segments of the Key in her possession, along with her assistant in her quest, Harmonious 14 Zink. After agreeing to the Doctor's suggestion of naming her "Zara" ("just to shut you up"), Zara turns the segment back into a crystal, which causes massive and disastrous changes to Mars's environment.

She joined the Women's Suffrage Alliance and, from 1898, was prominent in the Women's Political and Social Crusade. In 1901 the Beadles moved to Western Australia; Jean founded the Labor women's organization in Fremantle in 1905, and when they moved to the goldfields in 1906 she formed the Eastern Goldfields Women's Labor League. After returning to Perth in 1911 she played an active role in the ALP and was a delegate at the first Labor Women's Conference at Perth in October 1912, and was appointed the chairperson, a position she held for 30 years. Through her involvement with the party she was a candidate for Senate pre-selection in 1931.

The tangle of confusion and trickery comes to a head in the final act. Linsey-Wolsey, irate at losing the widow Tryman, apprehends Crack and threatens to turn the boy over to the beadles for whipping; and Crack agrees to expose all. At the Sneakup house, a marriage contract between Tryman and Toby Sneakup is arranged, and a marriage masque is rehearsed in which the real situation is revealed, to everyone's discomfort. Linsey-Wolsey bursts in with Crack, planning to expose Tryman as a fraud – but the exposé is even more extreme than expected, when Tryman lifts "her" skirts to show his trousers underneath.

The arrival of Ferguson was seen as a coup, with the Football Echo writing that the signing "was regarded as a triumph for Mr Fred Stewart ... for prevailing upon the Scottish officials to part with their star player". The new arrivals prompted a reshaping of the squad, with Beadles, Lawson and Jack Evans being largely omitted for the remainder of the season. All three new signings started the Cardiff's next match against Leicester City and the trio combined to earn the club's first points at home for a month. Willie Davies and Ferguson opened the scoring for Cardiff before Cassidy completed a hat-trick in a 5–2 victory.

Beadles Dime Novel In the late 19th century, dime novels depicting frontier life were becoming common, and Texas Jack became a popular subject of these stories. The dime novels, printed on inexpensive wood pulp paper and costing five to ten cents each, were published weekly or monthly. One of the first of these novels was titled Texas Jack; or The White King of the Pawnees, written by Ned Buntline, and first appeared in 1872. Texas Jack's popularity grew as he was featured on covers by publishers including Beadle's New York Dime Library, the Nickle Library, Log Cabin Library, DeWitt's Ten Cent, Street and Smith, and others.

Some Commonwealth and US universities also have beadles in ceremonial roles, under a variety of different spellings. These include the bedel at Emory University, who is traditionally the president of the Student Government Association, the esquire or madam bedel at the University of Canterbury, the bedel at McMaster University, the esquire bedel at the Australian National University, the esquire bedell at the University of New England, and the beadle at the University of Queensland. At some Dutch universities, including the University of Amsterdam and Utrecht University the Office of the Beadle manages doctoral and other ceremonies. Jesuit secondary schools formerly maintained the post of beadle—some still do.

On a summer evening it is amusing to survey the conduct of the > bathers; some boldly dive, others timorous stand and then descend step by > step, unwilling and slow; choice swimmers attract attention by divings and > somersets, and the whole sheet of water sometimes rings with merriment. > Every fine Thursday and Saturday afternoon in the summer columns of Bluecoat > boys, more than a score in each, headed by their respective beadles, arrive > and some half strip themselves ‘ere they reach their destination. The rapid > plunges they make into the Pool and their hilarity in the bath testify their > enjoyment of the tepid fluid.” The pool was closed in 1850 and built over.

They also designed one home in North Dakota (the George and Beth Anderson House, entered into the National Register of Historic Places in 2017), and two homes in Minnesota. By 1970, Wright Ingraham wanted to move away from her grandfather's styles and develop new architectural approaches. That year she founded her own firm, which she called Elizabeth Wright Ingraham and Associates. She went on to design approximately 150 buildings in Colorado Springs, including the Vista Grande Community Church (1987), an expansion of the Fountain Branch of the El Paso Country Library (2006), an upper story addition to the All Souls Unitarian Church, and the Solaz, La Casa, Kaleidoscope, Beadles, and Vradenburg private homes.

Danario Alexander was selected to the four lists without being chosen to any of the NCAA-sanctioned first team lists, while Kellen Moore and Brandon Graham were each selected to three unsanctioned first team lists. Colt McCoy has the distinction of being selected to the fewest lists (8) while being selected to all five sanctioned first teams. Zane Beadles, who was a 2009 second team Academic All-America selection, is the only player to make one of the 2009 College Football All-America Teams and the 2009 College Football Academic All-America Team. Tim Tebow, who was a 2007 and 2008 College Football All-America Team selection, was a first team 2009 College Football Academic All-America Team selection.

The sentences were later commuted to transportation to Van Diemen's Land. Until the establishment of an official police force in 1857, Monmouth had a parish constable assisted by beadles to keep law and order.Keith Kissack "Monmouth - The Making of a County Town" (1975) The appointed constables held office for a year and were often men who had experience in other local government or community roles.Clive Emsley "The English Police Force - A political and social history" Longman (1991) William Fuller who held office as Monmouth's constable for over twenty years in the early to mid 19th century, also served as Inspector of Nuisances, Chief of the Fire Brigade, Inspector of Weights and Measures, Clerk of the Market, and Conservator of the Wye.

However, he struggled to establish himself in the first team, making 18 appearances during his 3 seasons at Anfield. He joined Cardiff City in August 1924 where he spent less than two seasons, including playing in the 1925 FA Cup Final, before being sold to Sheffield Wednesday in an attempt to raise funds as the club experienced financial difficulties. Beadles never played a senior game for the first-team with Wednesday and he later finished his career with spells at Southport, where he was the club's top scorer for three consecutive seasons in the Third Division North, and Irish side Dundalk, where he served as player-manager. During his career, he made over 100 appearances in the Football League and won 2 caps for Wales in 1925.

Despite losing the title after having led the league for the majority of the season, the Cardiff team were greeted by large crowds of supporters on their return to Cardiff Central railway station from Birmingham. Immediately after the season, Cardiff embarked on the first overseas tour in the club's history, playing in Czechoslovakia, Austria and Germany. The team, joined by new signing Harry Beadles, travelled for three days to reach their first destination in Prague where they were due to play AC Sparta Prague. The match turned sour as Prague players were accused of overly physical play with Keenor angrily declaring at half time "If I get any more kicks on the shin I shall be chopping someone off at the knees".

Cardiff suffered a 2–0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on 18 March and, with their FA Cup semifinal to be played soon after, several first team regulars were rested for a match against Bury the week before and replaced by fringe players, including Jack Lewis who made his only appearance of the season. The weakened side ultimately fell to a heavy 4–1 defeat. A further defeat to Manchester City extended the run of defeats to three before a 1–1 draw with Arsenal ended the run. The Times remarked that reaching the final of the FA Cup appeared to have distracted the side, stating "the edge was off the game early in the match" and noted the lack of celebration for Beadles' equalising goal.

When Bieber performs the song with the musical background, he invites one or two girls on stage to be the object of his affection or the "lonely girl" during the performance. Bieber performed the song with the original musical background along with "One Time", and "Favorite Girl" on his U.S. network television debut on The Today Show. He also performed the song with the musical background on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and during Winter 2009 when he performed at several different Jingle Ball concerts. When Bieber performed at Q100's Jingle Ball in Atlanta, Georgia, where Bieber's career is based out of, he invited good friend and former girlfriend, Caitlin Beadles, who had recently recovered from a boating accident, on stage as the girl during the song.

CSX sub-leased the property to the tenants. Using a complex transaction involving a number of shell corporations, contracts Cafritz made with himself, and contracts Cafritz made personally with CSX Realty president Richard Beadles, Cafritz bought the land beneath Washington Harbour for $31 million. Cafritz obtained control (but not ownership) of the improvements to the property by purchasing CSX's interest in Washington Harbor Associates and taking over the 198-year lease. Cafritz then took further control of the property by leasing Washington Harbour to two new partnerships created by Cafritz solely for the purpose of controlling the property. Under the terms of these leases, Caftritz only took ownership of the improvements in 2182. An unidentified group of Japanese investors helped finance Cafritz's acquisition, and the deal closed on December 22, 1988.

A second defeat followed two days later, as Cardiff lost 3–1 to West Ham United, with the Football Echo criticising the team by stating "they do not appear to have a fixed plan of campaign and they are not able in the circumstances to make profitable use of the advantages that should be theirs as a result of the alteration in the offside rule." The side registered their first win of the season in their next game, beating Everton 2–1 at Ninian Park following goals from Jimmy Gill and Harry Beadles. A 1–0 defeat in the reverse fixture against West Ham was followed by the club's first point away from home as they drew 1–1 with Huddersfield Town. Cardiff took the lead through Willie Davies before Clem Stephenson equalised.

Beadles struck up an effective partnership with Len Davies, having displaced long-serving Joe Clennell from the starting line-up, and the pair both scored a brace during a 4–1 victory over Bury a week later. The pair combined again in the team's following match against Manchester City, both putting Cardiff a goal ahead before Frank Roberts equalised after each goal as the match ended 2–2. After a 1–1 draw with Arsenal at the end of November, Cardiff began December by defeating Aston Villa with another brace from Len Davies before drawing 2–2 with reigning First Division champions Huddersfield Town. The side's previously postponed fixture against Liverpool was played two days later and ended the club's five match unbeaten streak as they suffered a 3–1 defeat.

In the fourth round, Cardiff were drawn against Second Division side Leicester City, the second meeting between the two sides in the FA Cup in three seasons; Cardiff had eliminated Leicester in the second round during the 1922–23 season. More than 50,000 spectators attended the fixture and Leicester enjoyed the better play of the first half but it was Cardiff who took the lead early in the second half when Beadles headed in from Willie Davies' cross. Leicester quickly equalised when Arthur Chandler's shot was parried by Cardiff goalkeeper Tom Farquharson, allowing Johnny Duncan to lift the ball over the stricken keeper and into the net. In the final moments of the game, Leicester defender Adam Black cleared the ball out for an opposition corner after being pressured in possession.

The ward's alderman presides over the wardmote and appoints one of the common councillors of the ward as a deputy (in some wards two are appointed) for the year ahead. Wardmotes at which an alderman is to be elected are presided over by the Lord Mayor. There are also ward clubs,City of London Corporation Ward Boundaries, Beadles and Clubs which are similar to residents' associations found elsewhere in the country, but because these have membership open to those without an electoral qualification in the ward they have essentially become social clubs as part of the City's general civic social life along with the guilds, associations and liveries. There are twenty-two of these (Farringdon has always been an association of both wards of that name and Vintry and Dowgate the result of merger of the two clubs of each ward in 1957).

In the medieval universities, beadles were students chosen by instructors to act as assistants: carrying books, taking attendance, and assisting in classroom management. The Esquire Bedell of the University of Cambridge, carrying one of the university maces In the some universities in England the post of bedel or esquire bedell still exists as a ceremonial role. At the University of Oxford there are six bedels whose role is defined as being to "attend upon the Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, the Proctors and other participating dignitaries on such occasions, and assist them and other University members to carry out ceremonial duties" and to "deputise for the University Verger as necessary". At the University of Cambridge there are two esquire bedells who "have certain important responsibilities at congregations", including carrying the university's ceremonial maces, the senior esquire bedell also having "general responsibility for the correct formulation and wearing of academical dress".

In 1568 von der Hude negotiated with envoys of the Lutheran Senate of Hamburg and of George's successor on the Bremen see, the Lutheran Administrator regnant Henry III of Saxe-Lauenburg, on the Altenwalde church affairs, the binding of convent's tenants in the heath villages to allegiance with Hamburg, and the billetting of its bailiff's beadles there. This organisation with local committees, comprising the farmers whom the communists considered to be the "good" guys or at least useful beadles for their purposes, was granted the disposal over certain expropriated agricultural stocks and machines, thus compromising the one farmers to collaborate with communism and dispose of former property of their fellows, who were stigmatised by the communists as the "bad" guys to be expropriated – generally following the Macchiavellist principle of divide et impera. Although claiming to be for the farmers' benefit the VdgB became an instrument to accustom and prepare the farmers to their future compulsory collectivisation. The already streamlined Brandenburgian umbrella organisation sharply criticised this sale claiming the local VdgB should have handed over the expropriated machinery to the locally competent Maschinen-Ausleih-Station (MAS; machine loan-out station), a government-run organisation claiming expropriated agricultural machinery and putting it out on loan to farmers without such machines.
