It is rumored that the C-Series guitars of Yamaha have been around for as long as 1986, where it conveniently marked the unprecedented emergence of the first hundred of these C-Series C40s. Little is known about these first hundred (prototype) units that were produced during 1986, but the fact is that the C-Series C40 was yet to be publicized at the Hamamatsu Yamaha factory until 1991. Until this day Yamaha still makes new versions and improvements for the new C40 models.

The American chain brake, formally known as the "graduating car brake", was independently invented by Lucious Stebbins of Hartford, Connecticut in 1848, and by William Loughridge of Weverton, Maryland in 1855. Loughridge's design (sometimes known as the "Loughridge brake") would be in use by 1857 by the lines of Cincinnati, Hamilton and Dayton Railway (1846–1917) and Mad River and Lake Erie Railroad, while there are no records of adoption of Stebbins' design. In 1859, the Pennsylvania Railroad's (PRR's) adoption of Loughridge's brake would be publicized as making it the safest route possible, boosting sales for both Loughridge and the PRR. The PRR would continue using the brake into the 1870s, despite more uniform brakes being developed.

Mo was awarded with high ranking positions in both the provincial and the national Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. However, what Mo did for the Chinese Red Army was kept a secret by the Chinese government for decades and it was not until the late 1990s was Mo's contribution to the communists were finally allowed to be publicized, well after Mo's death.

The contradictory actions of the government on Under the Dome-from supportive to against-implies that social media and censorship under China’s current conditions appear paradoxical and competitive in a political fashion. Online social media provides a terrain where multimedia works can be publicized and spread at an unprecedented level of speed; where officials and netizens can negotiate and dispute; where a ‘green public sphere’, which is supposed to foster political debate and affect policy-making can be facilitated. In Chai Jing's case, virtual online space and social media channels are open to voices of opinion, but closed down at the prospect of potential action. As King (2013) says:" The purpose of the censorship program is not to suppress criticism of the state or the Communist Party, but rather to reduce the probability of collective action by clipping social ties whenever any collective movements are in evidence or expected".

The pony auction, c. 1971 Until the 1950s, most tourists to the island, except during the annual carnival and pony penning, were sportsmen, there to fish or hunt waterfowl. Publicity generated by the Misty franchise, and the easy access to the beach and recreational facilities on Assateague Island, brought many tourists to Chincoteague who were uninterested in shooting the wildlife except with cameras. Combined with the continued decline of the seafood industry, the economy of Chincoteague gradually shifted from being based on harvesting its waters to tourism. Many souvenir shops and other tourist enterprises were built along Maddox Boulevard, especially in the years after 1962. At first, the motels were buildings converted from other uses, but by the late 1960s, purpose-built structures were being erected along Maddox Boulevard, some with swimming pools. Although Misty died in 1972 at age 26, the island continued to be publicized. By the 1990s, tourism was the island's principal business, bringing in more than $100 million annually.
