The teaching profession has historically used different names for TEFL and TESL; however, the more generic term teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) is increasingly used to describe the profession, it covers both TESL and TEFL as an umbrella term. Both native speakers and non- native speakers successfully train to be English language teachers.

Jasus frontalis lives in the seas around the Juan Fernández Islands and the Desventuradas Islands, off the coast of Chile, at depths of , where the water is at a temperature of . The species was found to be plentiful and easily caught by early explorers who visited the area, such as Jacob Roggeveen (in 1722) and George Anson (in 1741). Today, J. frontalis is commercially fished throughout its range. The IUCN Red List states that while the catch has reportedly diminished and fishing efforts have increased, there is little quantifiable data on the catch per unit effort for estimating the conservation status and outlook for the species.

Beersheba was a strategic stronghold for the Turks and, being the final line of defence, victory by the allied forces would significantly threaten and weaken the enemy's capabilities to defend against a takeover. This type of desert warfare was largely dictated by the need for water supplies (for both troops and horses) and Beersheba had artificial and natural wells that were believed to be plentiful. Capture of these water supplies was critical to the allied advancement and, after travelling some 30 miles through the desert (and 36 hours without water), the swift attack and capture of Beersheba was essential. Failure to capture the town would have forced the army to retreat, giving the Turks an opportunity to re-establish and replenish their defences and thus, handing victory to the enemy.

The original piano pieces were created during Bartók's journey around Romania and Hungary, when he started collecting and arranging folk music that further transformed his somewhat Lisztian early style into the style he came to develop. Therefore, many of the compositions from this period were either based on folk music or created from scratch with a reasonable resemblance to folk music. However, neither money nor widespread fame would be plentiful in his lifetime, as he had to struggle with a moderate opposition in his country to his modern style and some of his major works, such as The Miraculous Mandarin, being banned for years. Improved telescope technology in the late 19th and 20th centuries allowed astronomers to resolve (that is, see as distinct objects) large-scale surface features on Io. In the 1890s, Edward E. Barnard was the first to observe variations in Io's brightness between its equatorial and polar regions, correctly determining that this was due to differences in color and albedo between the two regions and not due to Io being egg-shaped, as proposed at the time by fellow astronomer William Pickering, or two separate objects, as initially proposed by Barnard. Later telescopic observations confirmed Io's distinct reddish-brown polar regions and yellow-white equatorial band. Telescopic observations in the mid-20th century began to hint at Io's unusual nature. Spectroscopic observations suggested that Io's surface was devoid of water ice (a substance found to be plentiful on the other Galilean satellites).

In Greek, the word hálōs (ἅλως) from which Haloa derives means “threshing-floor” or “garden.” While the general consensus is that it was a festival related to threshing—the process of loosening the edible part of cereal grain after harvest—some scholars disagree and argue that it was instead a gardening festival. Haloa focuses mainly on the “first fruits” of the harvest, partly as a grateful acknowledgement for the benefits the husbandmen received, partly as prayer that the next harvest would be plentiful.

Jake Gaskill of G4 TV was impressed by the complexity of the puzzles based on the two simple actions of jumping and grabbing onto objects, similar to LittleBigPlanet, with a variety of elements to assure "you're always facing something new and challenging" during the game. Game Informer Matt Miller commented that part of the success of Limbo is that "every one of these [puzzles] stands alone"; the game accomplishes this in Miller's opinion by varying the elements throughout the game, and preventing the player from getting too accustomed to similar solutions since "everything changes". GameSpy's Ryan Scott believed that the game empowered the player to work through solutions themselves, and its puzzle design, "with its elegant simplicity, offers up what feels like a world of meaningful possibilities". The frequency of death was not considered a distraction from the game; not only were the deaths seen as necessary as part of learning and overcoming each obstacle, but reviewers found the checkpoints where the player would restart to be plentiful throughout the game.
