Betsy Head Park is located in two non-contiguous plots of unequal size, located diagonally across the intersection of Dumont Avenue and Thomas S. Boyland Street. The park's recreational facilities include three baseball fields, two football fields, eight tennis courts, and six basketball courts. The football fields and four of the basketball courts overlap with the baseball fields and cannot be utilized when the baseball field is in use. The larger plot, at the southwestern corner of Dumont Avenue and Thomas S. Boyland Street, measures and is bounded by Thomas S. During the 20th century, the park underwent continual change, including the addition of tennis courts and the renovation of the park's baseball fields through the state Department of Environmental Protection "Green Acres" program. Stuarts Draft Park is a county park administered that opened in 2005. It has a 25 m swimming pool, a pavilion and two unlit baseball fields that are now used often. There are three multipurpose fields; the main field is used for the annual Sweet Dreams festival. The multipurpose fields are divided up and used as several soccer fields.

The Dartmouth Commons is an approximately area of land set aside by the government in the late 18th century for the settlers common use in Dartmouth Nova Scotia, Canada. Much of it is maintained by the Halifax Regional Municipality. Today the most prominent area is called Leighton Dillman Park, which is named after a voluntary keeper of the garden. Other areas of the common are used by: baseball fields, the former Dartmouth City Hall, the Dartmouth Regional Library then after that the Dartmouth Heritage Museum, the Dartmouth Sportsplex, Dartmouth High School, Bicentennial Jr. High School, an elementary school called "Park School" (since torn down) and two burial grounds. The baseball fields are named for Arthur H. Merrick who was a co- founder of minor baseball in the City of Dartmouth in 1950.
Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, as baseball expanded, NFL football had been surging in popularity, making it economical for many of these cities to build multi-purpose stadiums instead of single-purpose baseball fields. Because of climate and economic issues, many of these facilities had playing surfaces made from artificial turf, as well as the oval designs characteristic of stadiums designed to house both baseball and football. This often resulted in baseball fields with relatively more foul territory than older stadiums. These characteristics changed the nature of professional baseball, putting a higher premium on speed and defense over home-run hitting power, since the fields were often too big for teams to expect to hit many home runs and foul balls hit in the air could more easily be caught for outs.

The reservoir is the village's only water source. Dunnet Regional Park (named after a local physician) was built and opened on the west side of the reservoir in 1967. Fish species in the lake include walleye, yellow perch, northern pike, white sucker and burbot.
Two new buildings were completed in 2014; the new History and English department called Avery Hall, and the new Administration and mathematics building, called McFarland hall. Paulo Orlando was born in São Paulo, Brazil. His mother is a nurse. When Orlando was 12 years old, a Japanese-Brazilian physician who worked with Orlando's mother recommended that he try his hand at baseball, an obscure sport primarily played by the Japanese community in Brazil. Because baseball fields were so few, Orlando could only play baseball on weekends.

Frelinghuysen Park is a public park dedicated to General John Frederick Frelinghuysen. This is the only public park in Raritan and it includes two little league baseball fields, two full-sized outdoor basketball courts, two full sized tennis courts and a playground. In March 1898, the baseball fields were finally completed. On April 16, 1898, the first baseball game between Georgia and Georgia Tech, then known as the Georgia School of Technology, was played. Hrbek is an avid hunter and fisherman, particularly in his home state of Minnesota. He hosted an outdoor sports program on FOX 9 called Kent Hrbek Outdoors from 2004–2010. Hrbek is a perennial pitchman for Twin Cities-area HVAC companies offering Carrier Heating and Air Conditioning equipment. He has a series of baseball fields named after him in his hometown of Bloomington.

The Fort Washington State Park is a site located in the middle of the township, along the Wissahickon Creek. Miles Park Which is located on Germantown Pike at the intersection of Joshua Road includes basketball courts, baseball fields and a walking track. It also has a snack bar and has vending machines. Several country clubs also have grounds within the town.

Louise Martin Memorial Park has an approximately 6/10th of a mile walking/running loop that is paved and another approximately half mile of walking/running trails. Bane Park is a park located in Brainerd, Minnesota, United States. It has a hockey rink, open rink, warming house, playground and baseball fields. From 1933 to 1935, it served as the home ballpark for three minor league baseball teams: the Brainerd Muskies (1933), the Brainerd-Little Falls Muskies (1934) and the Brainerd Blues (1935). They all played in the Northern League.
As the trail twists and turns through the Spur property parkland, it parallels Millbrae Avenue and skirts the northern friges of Mills High School's running track/football and baseball fields. The trail turns by several tennis courts and a YMCA skatepark before terminating on the corner of Millbrae Avenue and Magnolia Drive about two blocks away from the Millbrae Station.
North Meadow baseball fields North Meadow, one of Central Park's lawns, measures and is bounded by North Woods (at approximately 102nd Street) to the north and west, Harlem Meer to the northeast, East Meadow to the east, and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir to the south. Samuel Parsons, the superintendent of Central Park during the 1880s through 1910s, once wrote of the North Meadow: "It is genuine park scenery that the eye is tempted to linger upon and the foot to walk upon, and presents, if viewed as a single feature, one of the best examples we have of good park work." North Meadow contains twelve baseball fields, as well as six non-regulation soccer fields overlapping with the North Meadow ballfields. A series of butterfly gardens are also located on the northeastern edge of North Meadow.
Franklin Park contains the eighteen-hole William J. Devine Memorial Golf Course (the second oldest public course in the nation) as well as tennis courts, baseball fields, and several basketball courts. The Boston Rugby Football Club (Boston RFC) plays their matches at the park. There are large open areas used for lacrosse and soccer. One area of the park is used for cricket on Sunday afternoons.

A grandstand was built for one of the baseball fields. Stone markers were established with bronze plaques in recognition of the renovation work performed by the WPA. Features that were not replaced include a lake, some of the gardens, and rustic bridges.
Around 1997, funding for a roller hockey rink was allocated for Juniper Valley Park. Although the rink had been proposed during the early 1990s, there was controversy over where the rink should be installed within the park. The roller rink opened in 1999 at a cost of $600,000. The baseball fields were renovated, but this soon led to accumulations of ponding because of improper drainage.

The current campus sits in Old South Baton Rouge just to the northwest of the Louisiana State University campus, and is bordered by Lake Crest, one of the LSU lakes to the East. Jim Kaat's marriages to his first wife, Julie, and his second wife, Linda, ended in divorce. His third wife, MaryAnn Kaat, died in July 2008 after 22 years of marriage. Morejón played in minor league baseball for 19 seasons (1954–1972) including the Havana Sugar Kings of the International League. In 1955, he was named Most Valuable Player of the Carolina League while playing for the High Point- Thomasville Hi-Toms. After his playing career, he managed and maintained the baseball fields at Tropical Park in Miami, Florida. He died in Miami at the age of 78.
The park opened on April 8, 2000 to the public, but progress on new features at the park continued. By 2001, the park included four baseball fields and four soccer fields. Bicycle and pedestrian trails crisscrossed the property down to Church Creek. Although the public had been given access to the park as features were added, the formal opening of the park did not occur until 2001.

Broad Channel American Park opened in May 1995, located at the southernmost end of Broad Channel, sits along Jamaica Bay. The park features two grass baseball fields, one asphalt baseball field, benches, water fountains, a parking area, four basketball standards, and a small play area. The flagpole area is surrounded by a nautically themed sitting area. The park was given its present name in March 1998.
The court flooring features a star representing the HISD logo and an image of the Houston skyline. Lower level seating is retractable, allowing for additional floor space, if needed. The entrance to the arena also showcases a portion of the center court floor from the original fieldhouse The entire area including the fieldhouse, stadium, softball and baseball fields are referred to as the Delmar-Tusa Sports Complex.
The largest park is Tam o'Shanter Park, a multi-use park comprising along the Coweeman River. The facilities include multipurpose fields for soccer, three girls fastpitch softball fields, one Babe Ruth field, five Cal Ripken baseball fields, and three basketball courts. The park hosts the annual Kelso Hilander Festival which includes Scottish Highland games. The park is named after a Scottish bonnet, the Tam o' shanter.
The largest stadium at Southington High School is Fontana Field. Sports that are played at Fontana Field are: football, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, and track & field. The volleyball and basketball teams play in one of the two gyms at SHS.
The park is a popular destination for recreational softball, volleyball, soccer, handball, and other games. It is also used for sunbathing and dog-walking. In late 2004, the park's track was resurfaced and has been a popular destination for running enthusiasts. Events on the baseball fields of McCarren Park include members of the punk and indie communities gathering to participate in league-controlled kickball tournaments.
The velodrome hosts multiple bicycling programs, including Star Track. The rest of the park contains various playgrounds, soccer fields, tennis courts, and baseball fields. A Korean War memorial is located at a northern entrance to Kissena Park, at Parsons Boulevard and Rose Avenue. Another memorial, a boulder with an inscription dedicated to World War I soldiers from Queens, is located on the southern shore of Kissena Lake.
Dunkirk is also home to one of the largest city parks in Jay County as well as a downtown Depot Park with Summer Concerts and Weekend Farmer Markets. The large Municipal provides 2 baseball fields, 1 large enclosed shelter house and a small open shelter building, various children related playground equipment, a basketball court, a large modern community center and a community swimming pool.
27th Street Parkway & Fitness Path The Granite City Park District owns 13 parks. Wilson Park is the most notable. A paved trail encircles the park which contains a pool, ice rink, park office, skate park, food and beverage stand, tennis courts, several pavilions, baseball fields, and a wedding area. The Park District offers baseball, flag football, tennis, soccer, basketball, and hockey programs for the youth.
N.P. Dodge Memorial Park, or simply Dodge Park, is a recreational area located at 11001 John J. Pershing Drive in North Omaha, Nebraska, United States. Located on the Missouri River, the park provides fishing, water skiing, and boating, as well as hiking throughout its riparian forests. Baseball fields, soccer fields, horseshoe pits, and tennis courts are included for sporting events. There is a picnic area, pavilions, historical monuments, and a campground.
In 2004, the Park Avenue bridge was repaired, as were the baseball fields in the center of the park. In 2007, a plan was created to provide for more than 5,000 cherry trees in the park and renovate and rename the Welcome Center. Highlands Golden Rams Stadium (track and football), tennis courts, a soccer field, and the Highlands Community Center are adjacent to the middle school; and several baseball fields are next to the high school.
The park from its earliest days has been a recreational haven for residents of both Brooklyn and Queens. The park ultimately included football fields, baseball fields, tennis courts and (in the winter) a frozen pond for skating. An aquatic garden was added in 1907 and a children's farm garden in 1915. The park is home to The Dawn of Glory World War I monument by sculptor Pietro Montana (dedicated 1925).

Farley installed baseball fields, tracks, and other fitness facilities at plants and factories.
Scott High School sits on a campus that is shared with Woodland Middle School which was built in 1988. The campus includes a football field, softball and baseball fields, lighted soccer field, tennis courts and is the only high school in Kenton County with an indoor pool. Scott now has a new wing addition with additional rooms, bigger lockers, smart classrooms, etc. that finished in the summer of 2014.
Shedd Park is a public park in Lowell, Massachusetts. It is located off Rogers Street (Route 38) and flanked by Boylston Street and Knapp Avenue in the Belvidere section of the city. It includes multiple baseball fields, tennis/basketball courts, a pavilion, and a water park. In combination with Fort Hill and the Lowell Cemetery, Shedd Park is one of the largest urban green spaces in the Greater Lowell area.
The original park site was once private farm land which was then bought by the City of Murfreesboro in 1965. The park was dedicated on October 29, 1977. The park comprises and has three picnic shelters, two play grounds, two baseball fields, eight tennis courts and green areas. In 2010, the City began a $330,000 restoration project aimed at improving the quality of the waterways and preserving the natural spaces.
Northeast Park is a neighborhood in the Northeast community in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Its boundaries are 18th Avenue and New Brighton Boulevard to the north, the city limits to the northeast, Interstate 35W to the southeast, Broadway to the south, and Central Avenue to the west. The zoo has dozens of animals from thirty different native species, including a number of birds, a mountain lion, wolves, otters, white-tailed deer, and some bison. TLC is currently held at Sunset Knoll Park in Lombard, located at 820 S. Finley Road. This centralized location within the Western Suburbs of Chicago, IL allows easy access for residents of northern Illinois and surrounding states. In 2013, Eisenhower High School was torn down and replaced with a new building Northwest of the former school. The project cost the Yakima School District over $108 million. The development of the athletic amenities was a large reason to why the district had went over the initial budget of $108 million. New athletic amenities included on campus baseball fields, tennis courts, soccer practice fields and football practice fields.
Maywood's Memorial Park is across the street from Memorial School on Grant Avenue and is open to the public. The park includes multiple baseball fields and a vast open field for soccer, football, running, etc. Further back is a multi-hoop concrete basketball court; a small, fenced in dog park; and two jungle gyms with swings. Around the circumference of the park is a 1/2-mile long bike path.

As of 2013, the organization has built 18 baseball fields in the Greater St. Louis area. Since 2004, the organization has run Redbird Rookies, a network of 20 leagues for nearly 4,500 children around Greater St. Louis and in rural sections of Missouri and Illinois. who would not otherwise have the opportunity. It provides equipment and other necessities to the players, training for coaches and organizers, and workshops for parents.

The Eastern Prom Trail is popular with bicyclists. The Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum is also located on the Eastern Promenade. Robbinsdale Armstrong High School was built in 1969, and it has undergone several renovations and upgrades since its construction, with the most recent major renovation finished in 2003. The campus consists of four interconnected buildings with four stories. The grounds contain a varsity and a junior varsity football field. In addition, Armstrong has two baseball fields, several enclosed tennis courts, and a track going around the football field.

Sports facilities at Lyons Township include swimming pools, field houses, theatres, a turf football field (south campus), soccer fields, baseball fields, a gym, outdoor tracks, basketball courts, and volleyball courts.

The city constructed a , 96 million gallon reservoir between 1866 and 1878. The Eden Park Station No. 7 pumped water from the Ohio River into the reservoir and then into the Eden Park Stand Pipe. The reservoir was removed in the early 1960s and the site redeveloped into the Mirror Lake reflecting pool and baseball fields. It was closed in July 1996 and turned over to the Japanese government in December 2006. The Olcott Park in Virginia, Minnesota is a amount of land on the north side of town. Knott County and its surrounding counties are home to 5,700 free ranging elk, the largest elk herd east of the Mississippi River. There is an ATV Training Center dedicated to the safety of ATV usage amongst riders and the Knott County Sportsplex, a sports complex which has indoor basketball courts, outside baseball fields, a soccer field, and a fitness center.

Spitzer was born and reared in Athens in Henderson County in East Texas, where his parents still reside. Spitzer recalls as a youth having mowed baseball fields in the day and umpiring softball games at night. Murfreesboro Greenway System is a system of greenways with of paved paths and 11 trail heads. In 1929, a playground and after-school program was established at the site. Throughout the 1930s, the city added tennis courts, a swimming pool, a bandstand, and baseball fields to the park. The Bertram-Huppertz house was at that time used as the athletic clubhouse and bath house. In 1944, the city started construction on Doris Miller Auditorium, named for Doris "Dorie" Miller, a native Texan and the first African American awarded the Navy Cross.

These include playgrounds, walking paths, baseball fields, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts, plus outdoor swimming pools, an indoor ice arena, two fitness centers, and an 18-hole golf course. Each area in Oak Lawn has its own recreational area, totaling 22 parks.
The site was originally a private club named Rancho Country Club. The club ran into some tax problems and the federal government took ownership to satisfy the tax debt and leased it back to the club. Several citizens spearheaded an effort to make the site into a city park. Their efforts were rewarded in 1945 with the creation of Cheviot Hills Park, a park that included the golf course, tennis courts, and baseball fields.
The city of Maxwell is home to three city parks. The Maxwell City Park is located on the west side of the town along the Indian Creek. It is the location for the yearly Old Settlers event. A new municipal justice complex including court, police department, and jail has been located within the former Food World building facing US 31 just north of the city center area. Gardendale has several parks and athletic facilities. G. William Noble Park (formerly known as Moncrief Park) contains 6 baseball fields, 8 tennis courts, a football field, and 3 playgrounds as well as picnic and party facilities. It is located just off Moncrief Road on the northside of the city.
The site of Tingley Field was originally one of several public baseball fields used by Albuquerque's various semi-professional teams in the early 20th century. One of these teams was the Apprentices, made up of Santa Fe Railroad employees. In the late 1920s the Apprentices leased the field and built a fence and wooden grandstand with a capacity of roughly 1,000. The stadium was initially called Apprentice Field but was renamed Rio Grande Park a few years later.
"Budget cuts forced Southern Colorado to drop its program in 1984. Athletic director Dan DeRose not only brought back baseball but put the team in a new 50-acre, $ 2 million complex that includes Rawlings Field for baseball, a soccer field, a 500-car parking lot and a three-field softball complex. The softball and baseball fields have lights." DeRose was also the owner, founder, and head coach of the Pueblo Crusaders, a Minor League Football System team.

A home severely damaged by the EF2 Aurora, Nebraska tornado Yet another round of severe weather developed on June 17 across the upper Midwest and central Great Plains. The community of Austin, Minnesota was especially hard hit by a large tornado. Between 15 to 20 homes were damaged and baseball fields were ruined across the city. About 600 trees were ripped down in city parks. It tracked over US 218, flipping numerous cars off the road.
Peninsula Park is a public park in the Piedmont neighborhood of Portland, Oregon, United States. The park is located in the North Portland neighborhood and contains an outdoor swimming pool, community center, baseball fields, playgrounds, basketball courts, tennis courts, covered picnic areas, a historic gazebo and other amenities. In 2007, area residents started to propose a piece of public art be added to the park honoring Rosa Parks, as the park lies along Rosa Parks Way.

The smaller gym, known as the Rita Bole Gymnasium (there is also a Rita Bole residence hall) was used for basketball games, floor hockey, and a wide variety of intramural sports. At its peak, the bleachers held approximately 3,000 people, with crowds reported for some games as large as 5,000. In 1941, the team moved to the new Athletic Field along Summit Street, a Works Progress Administration project that included separate football and baseball fields, with the football field surrounded by a cinder track. Seating was again provided on primitive wooden bleachers.
Brookside Park is a municipal park in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. It is located at 3501 Brookside Parkway North Drive on the near eastside of Indianapolis, just north of the Rural-Sherman neighborhood. The park straddles Pogue's Run, a tributary of the White River. Brookside Park features a public swimming pool, a community center, outdoor shelters (able to be reserved through Indy Parks), baseball fields, soccer fields, a disc golf course, basketball courts, and several nature trails.

Shelby Park is a large urban park located approximately three miles (five km) east of downtown Nashville along the Cumberland River. The park includes playgrounds, a dog park,Metro Dog Parks baseball fields, two golf courses, and a community center. The park is located between the Lockeland Springs, Shelby Hills, and Rolling Acres neighborhoods. Until the 2011 opening of E. S. Rose Park, the Belmont Bruins baseball team played a portion of its home games at the park.
Windham includes a variety of local attractions such as municipal parks, golf courses, tennis courts, bowling facilities, youth recreation programs, fishing, hunting, boating, snowmobile transits, bike trails, and waterfront access. The Windham Country Club golf course is an 18-hole premier course voted four stars by Golf Digest. Men's leagues, women's leagues, and youth leagues are offered at the course. Griffin Park, built in 2005, offers three baseball fields, a soccer field, tennis and basketball courts, and a playground.
North and east, going uphill on King, are a church on the same side of the street, followed by houses of more modern construction. Hero Park Serpentine Ridge Nature Preserve The only public park on Grymes Hill is Hero Park, a 2-acre park donated in 1920 by Dr. and Mrs. Louis A. Dreyfus. However, Grymes Hill residents are within walking distance of the sprawling Silver Lake Park, whose facilities include a running path, a golf course, and several public tennis courts. The neighborhood also borders Clove Lakes Park, with ponds, baseball fields, and a row-boating house among its amenities.
Lincoln High School is a public high school located in the city of Lincoln, California. The school, which serves grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Western Placer Unified School District. It is currently the only high school in Lincoln, California and has its own working school farm - one of the largest in the state. The school finished construction of the Edward A. Grey Sports Complex in 2005, including a new stadium and baseball fields.
The campus of Rochester High School is located on the north side of Illinois Route 29 in Rochester. The high school shares the campus and a building with Rochester Junior High School. The campus contains not only the school building and parking, but also a track and field/football stadium, a baseball fields,a softball field, six tennis courts, and an indoor athletic complex. The high school soccer fields are on the campus of Rochester Elementary 2–3 School.

The City of Austin operates the Dove Springs Recreation Center. The outside of the center has a nature walking trail, one swimming pool, one outdoor tennis court, one sand volleyball pit, one outdoor basketball court, three soccer fields, three baseball fields, and two outdoor tennis courts, one pavilion, and one playscape. There are numerous sports hosted in Prospect Park, and specialized facilities exist for several sports. Seven baseball fields are located in the Long Meadow between 9th and 15th Streets. Two are major league-sized fields serving older age groups, while the other five are slightly smaller and intended for younger children, typically 8–12 years old. In the winter, ice skating, cross-country skiing, figure skating, curling, hockey, and tennis are provided in the LeFrak Center at Lakeside.
The playground at 116th Street, seen from a nearby path Morningside Park contains several sporting fields. Two baseball fields and a basketball court are at the southern end of the park. Three additional basketball courts are near the central portion of Morningside Park. To the north are two basketball courts and four handball courts. There are also children's play structures at 110th, 113th, 116th, and 118th Streets at the bottom of the cliff, and a restroom at 123rd Street.
The City-owned Crystal Beach Water Park features a swimming pool, play fountains, water slides, and a picnic area. Woodward Crystal Beach Park is on the National Register of Historic Places listings in Woodward County, Oklahoma. The Woodward Sports Complex includes the newly-renovated baseball stadium Fuller Park, and five Little League baseball fields. Woodward has two golf courses, Boiling Springs and Crystal Beach Municipal Golf Course, and seven miles of the beautiful Goetzinger Walking trails.
The Brentwood High School Spartans play football, soccer, baseball, and softball, in the local park. Brentwood Borough opened the park and pool on July 4, 1928, but it was not until 1948 that the football stadium, track, four baseball fields, tennis courts, and basketball courts were built. In 2013, the Brentwood Park underwent roughly $8 million in comprehensive improvements. The project was spearheaded by the Brentwood Park Initiative, the independent committee helping to raise funds and community awareness.
Although no major sports team is located in Durant, many sporting opportunities are found in the city, including the Durant Multi-Sports Complex, golf, soccer pitches, and baseball fields. The Durant Multi-Sports Complex is an athletic facility located 2 mi (3 km) southeast of Durant, on Highway 78. The sports complex, dedicated on November 17, 2006, sits on , with undeveloped. The southwest park also contains a dog run, four more baseball fields (for a total of six), two bocce courts, several basketball courts, and nine tennis courts. This section of the park also includes the Pelham Bay Nature Center. The neighborhood of Pelham Bay is across the Bruckner Expressway from this section of the park. A long and narrow woodland called Huntington Woods, located on the southern border of this park, is named after the tract's last owners.
Cannonsburgh Village is a reproduction of what a working pioneer village would have looked like from the period of the 1830s to the 1930s. Visitors can view the grist mill, school house, doctor's office, Leeman House, Caboose, Wedding Chapel, and other points of interest. It is also home to the World's Largest Cedar Bucket. Old Fort Park is a park which includes baseball fields, tennis courts, children's playground, an 18-hole championship golf course, picnic shelters and bike trail.
The baseball park is named after Anthony Police Department's only officer killed in the line of duty. It is located on the east side of Richard White Street north of Franklin Street and south of State Line Road. The park consists of two fenced regulation baseball fields with bleachers and a small building used for maintenance and concessions. It is the baseball field used by the Anthony High School Baseball Team during the official baseball season.
The Loftin Park consists of open green space. The Mulberry Park at 700 Mulberry Lane includes a playground area, a picnic shelter, a youth baseball field, and three lighted tennis courts. The Paseo Park along Bellaire Boulevard includes an esplanade, the Bellaire Trolley and the Special Event area. The Pin Oak Park along the West Loop South (610 Loop) includes two lighted baseball fields, one lighted soccer and American football field, one jogging track, and three basketball/tennis courts.
The Barboursville Park is another major attraction within the Village. It encompasses more than 750 acres and has soccer and baseball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, fishing ponds, walking trails, equestrian trails, horse show ring, and amphitheater. There is also a newly opened splash pad and plans have been announced to build a disc golf course. The U.S. Youth Soccer Region 1 Championship was held at the soccer complex within Barboursville Park in 2015 and 2016.
Kate Schneider Park is operated by the Ruritans and provides three lit baseball fields, one unlit baseball field, a pavilion, and a large horseshoes court. Friendship Park provides a single lit baseball field. A baseball field behind the Old Schoolhouse Restaurant has been redeveloped, and is currently used for the Stuarts Draft Diamondbacks, a county league team, and for younger American Legion baseball teams. This field was the sports field for the elementary school system until the 1980s.
Mosswood Park is a public park in Oakland, California, located on W MacArthur Boulevard between Webster Street and Broadway. Managed by the City of Oakland's Department of Parks and Recreation, it contains a community recreation center as well as extensive grassy lawns, picnic areas, children's play equipment, dog runs, tennis and basketball courts, courtsoftheworld.com and baseball fields. Programs at the park include after-school tutoring for grades K-7, along with numerous other after-school classes.
A continuing legacy of The Graniteville Company is the Gregg-Graniteville Foundation, which was established by the company in 1941 in honor of Mr. Gregg. To continue his concern for people, the Foundation awards annual college scholarships and other charitable contributions. Gregg Park Civic Center, a recreational complex, has services offered to community residents at a nominal charge. The Foundation funds the complex which includes a walking track, softball and baseball fields, tennis courts, swimming area, picnic area.
Fitch Park is a baseball park complex and training facility located in Mesa, Arizona. It is the spring training workout facility for Major League Baseball's Oakland Athletics. It is also the year-round home for Oakland's minor league training and player development operations, the home ballpark of the Arizona League Athletics, and the spring training home for Oakland's minor league affiliates. The Chicago Cubs used the baseball fields and training facility in the same capacities from 1997 to 2013.
There are 26 baseball fields in Central Park: eight on the Great Lawn, six at Heckscher Ballfields near Columbus Circle, and twelve in the North Meadow. 12 tennis courts, six non-regulation soccer fields (which overlap with the North Meadow ball fields), four basketball courts, and a recreation center are in the North Meadow. PSSBL games are played at baseball fields around the Seattle-Tacoma area, such as University of Washington's Husky Ballpark, Bellevue College, Bannerwood Park, Edmonds Community College, and more. The season runs from early May to Labor Day with local playoffs scheduled in September. Players and teams from the league also compete in regional and national tournaments, including the MSBL World Series. The MSBL World Series takes place every fall at Major League Baseball facilities in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area.
The football/soccer stadium Northwestern was planned with an enhanced emphasis on athletics. The football and soccer stadium (previously known as the Prince George's County Memorial Stadium) can accommodate the entire student population and features a modern, air-conditioned press box. There are also two softball/baseball fields (one at either side of the football field) and six tennis courts. The new baseball field was dedicated to longtime baseball coach, football coach, gym teacher, athletic director and alumnus Martin "Marty" Gallagher.
Renziehausen Park Rose Garden and Arboretum (258 acres) is a city park with rose garden and arboretum located on Eden Park Boulevard off Walnut Street, in the Pittsburgh suburb of McKeesport, Pennsylvania. It is open to the public daily without charge. The rose garden contains some 1,200 rose bushes in 28 beds, plus an additional 3 raised beds containing 300 miniature rose bushes. The park also includes a bandshell, baseball fields, exercise trails, a fishing pond, picnic pavilions, tennis courts, and restrooms.

U.S. Cellular Community Park is an athletic facility in the western United States, located in Medford, Oregon. The Park is on South Pacific Highway, visible from Interstate 5 at around milepost 26. It features five baseball fields (which includes a professional-sized and two youth fields), four softball fields, two sports fields, and a professional-sized championship soccer field, the home venue of the Southern Oregon Fuego of the National Premier Soccer League. The elevation of the park is approximately above sea level.
Water polo cannot be played at Del Mar because of the pool's depth, or lack thereof. There are seven tennis courts, four outdoor basketball courts, two sand volleyball courts that are rarely used, the weight room, a football practice field, a baseball diamond, three softball/baseball fields, and a large field that houses soccer. Following the female jogger attack and other assaults in the park that night, the Central Park Conservancy organized the Citizens Task Force on the Use and Security of Central Park. The task force published a report that suggested reverting the North Meadow's baseball fields to a lawn, though this was strongly opposed by athletes who used these ball fields. In 1990, the Conservancy announced recreational programs and restoration projects to attract more people to the North Woods and, by extension, reduce crime.
The Palm Beach Gardens Municipal Building park is located near the east gate and has baseball fields for public use as well as playground facilities, outdoor stretch stations, swimming pool, and a running track. BallenIsles is located within walking distance of the PGA Commons shopping and dining area and within a five-minute drive from Downtown at the Gardens, the Gardens Mall shopping areas, and newly developed Legacy Place. This setup first appeared at Cincinnati's Riverfront Stadium upon its opening in 1970. Among Major League Baseball fields, Rogers Centre was the last stadium to maintain this type of configuration and was reconfigured with a full dirt infield starting in the 2016 MLB season. In some college baseball parks with artificial turf fields, the entire field (along with possibly the pitcher's mound) is made up of turf, with parts of the field mainly containing dirt instead merely being clay-colored turf.
The Southridge Sports and Events Complex is a development on the south side of Kennewick in the U.S. State of Washington. It is adjacent to U.S. Route 395 between 27th and Hildebrand Boulevard and is near Southridge High School. The complex has several sports and recreational amenities, as well as a memorial to the victims of the September 11 attacks. The facilities on the complex opened in stages, beginning with the baseball fields in 2011, progressing to the carousel in 2014.

Merrill park includes 4 tennis courts, 3 baseball fields, a soccer field, 7 picnic groves that can be reserved in advance, the progressive playground, an animal haven, a football field, 2 basketball courts, 2 softball fields, 2 open picnic groves, and 3 other playgrounds. The football field and soccer field are surrounded by a walkway for joggers as well. The animal haven is free and there is no charge to view the animals. There are numerous small trails around the park.

He also invented the use of the radar gun for timing pitches, which effectively revolutionized the assessment of pitchers. The forest is believed to be the only woodland in New York City that has never been cleared. In addition, there is another set of ballfields called the Allerton Avenue Ballfields adjacent to the preserve. The ballfields are named after Daniel Allerton, an early Bronx settler, and consist of three baseball fields and a comfort station. The Bronx Skate Park is located nearby on Bronx Park East between Allerton Avenue and Britton Street, near the northeast corner of Bronx Park.
After the Giants moved to the original Scottsdale Stadium, the California Angels used the facility from 1982 until 1984. The next two years saw the transformation of the baseball fields into football fields, which were used as the training camp headquarters for the USFL's Arizona Wranglers and the Denver Gold. Eagle Park is located near I-25 and Belen High School. It is Belen's multipurpose park, including several soccer fields, baseball fields, tennis courts, and an outdoor basketball court. Eagle Park also has a community center with a weight room, indoor basketball court, and a number of meeting rooms. The historic Anna Becker Park, located in downtown Belen and named after the wife of Belen's most influential businessman, John Becker, was once a pond where residents ice skated in the winter.
The last two resident students graduated in 1983. Since then, more facilities have been built, with the dedication of the Lynch Athletic Center in 1983, Findlay Science Pavilion in 1995, Fine Arts Center in 2006, the 40 Acres soccer and baseball fields in 2009, and the Cocoziello Field and Passerelli Track in 2010. Construction on Liberty began in 2002. The district hired Turner Construction to construct the school, designed by Fanning Howey. Liberty features a number of facilities, including eight athletic fields, a football stadium, two baseball fields, two softball fields, four tennis courts, a 1,800-seat main gymnasium, an auxiliary gymnasium, a choir rehearsal room, a band rehearsal room, and an 815-seat theater. The building has two academic wings, two stories tall, that fork out from the rest of the building.
It is home to "Art in the Wilds", an outdoor, juried fine arts show held each year in Evergreen Park on the fourth Saturday and Sunday of June, as well as "Kane Fest", an annual festival in July formerly known as the Black Cherry Festival, which is no longer being held. Kane also holds Glenwood Park, which is great for a nice outdoor family picnic, great time for the kids, playing catch at the baseball fields, or riding bicycles at the skatepark.
Rogers Park is a 56-acre public park and recreational facility in Danbury, Connecticut, United States, located at the end of Main Street at South Street. It hosts six baseball fields, four softball fields, a multi-purpose turf field, eight tennis courts, seven volleyball courts, four handball-paddleball courts, a spray park, a playground, an outdoor ice rink (during cold weather), a concession stand, a pond with a hiking/nature trail, the War Memorial building, several veterans monuments and the Charles Ives House.
Johnston Field House is home to the Boonslick Heartland YMCA and contains a cardio theater, weight room, aerobics room, indoor pool, indoor batting cage, office space and five basketball courts. The park also contains a regulation football field, soccer fields, a lake and three baseball fields. The city hopes to repair and put into use the five tennis courts. Additional development will be deferred until a master plan is developed after the best use of the space has been determined.
Rhodes also planned to open a Golden Valley park with two baseball fields. More than 3,000 acres had been purchased for the White Hills project. Both sites were considered desirable because of their location between Las Vegas and Phoenix. The completion of the Hoover Dam Bypass project was also viewed favorably, as it would cut down on the amount of travel time between Las Vegas and the proposed communities. During 2005, Rhodes built 69 homes in Kingman to test the local market.
Close to the southern corner of Roy Wilkins Park are two baseball fields, two tennis/handball courts, two basketball courts, and play equipment. An additional six tennis/handball courts, four batting cages, four basketball courts, more play equipment, and restrooms are located on the eastern border of the park, directly to the north and facing Baisley Boulevard. To the northeast is a parking lot and the Roy Wilkins Family Center. The central part of Roy Wilkins Park, near Merrick Boulevard, contains additional parking.
Park districts in Maine Township correspond to their respective suburbs. Unincorporated Maine Township uses the Golf Maine Park District, which has two main sites. Dee Park, located on Dee Road and Emerson Street, contains a large playground (the only playground in unincorporated Maine Township), three baseball fields, tennis courts, a basketball court, a roller hockey court, a fieldhouse, and paths that wind throughout the park campus. Feldman Park is a fieldhouse building located on Kathy Lane behind Mark Twain Elementary School in Niles.
Little Sugar Creek Greenway at E 4th Street overpass The 120‑acre Park Road Park is a prominent landmark near the SouthPark area. Park Road Park features eight basketball courts, two horseshoe pits, six baseball fields, five picnic shelters, volleyball courts, playgrounds, trails, tennis courts, and an eleven-acre lake. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Parks & Recreation Department operates 36 tennis facilities and the 12 lighted tennis courts at the park. The urban section of Little Sugar Creek Greenway was completed in 2012.
Stratford Point Light Russian Beach – Located between Long and Short beaches, Russian Beach has parking and the Point-No-Point walkway. Fishing is allowed, as is swimming although this beach has no lifeguards. Short Beach – Short Beach Park is in size and sits at the mouth of the Housatonic River. It has three picnic pavilions, basketball courts, tennis courts, volleyball courts, a handicapped-accessible playground, a skateboard park, a lighted softball field, a soccer field, two baseball fields and a lacrosse field.
Los Mochis is known for its sports culture and large, high-quality sporting facilities (Ciudades Deportivas) intended to promote participation in sports. It has two large sporting facilities that have running tracks, pools, tennis courts, baseball fields and a football stadium with a capacity of 11,000. The city is home to the Mexican Pacific League's Cañeros de Los Mochis baseball club. The city's football team is called the Murciélagos de Los Mochis, and its basketball team is known as the Pioneros.
In a warm December in 2010, Ruby Hill was closed but it opened for the 2011 season through the months of January and February, as weather permits. The terrain park is free, open to the public, and is popular among skiers, snowboarders and people on sleds and inner tubes. In the summer, the park itself is home to an outdoor swimming pool, baseball fields and a handicap accessible playground, and is a popular site for summer picnicking and kite-flying.
The county government owns three community parks in the Lake Stevens area. Cavalero Community Park opened in 2009 and consists of two fenced dog parks, an open field, and a planned skate park on . Lake Stevens Community Park is located east of downtown and includes several soccer and baseball fields on of former timber land. Wyatt Park lies at the foot of Chapel Hill on the western lakeshore and includes a beach, boat launch, and a boathouse for rowing teams.
The football and baseball complex, are bordered by a bus garage access road, and youth baseball fields. Basketball games are held in the Horseheads Middle School gym because it's much larger. The Middle School also houses a fieldhouse with a large center area for volleyball, soccer, basketball, etc., a small indoor track, and an indoor/outdoor golf chipping and putting area designed by Joe Sindelar (father of PGA golfer Joey Sindelar) and funded by a grant from the First Tee Program and the LPGA.
With the advice of his father, Ramírez decided that as Major League Baseball pitchers often relied on a slider or curveball as a complementary pitch to their fastball, he would develop a different pitch. Ramírez spent his time that year learning a changeup on baseball fields in Miami, Florida, and did not pitch professionally during the 2004 season. Working with Maximo Soto, a fellow minor league pitcher released by the Angels, Ramírez developed his changeup to provide him with a new weapon in his pitching arsenal.
In 1990, NYC Parks proposed building a boat launch, amphitheater, and natural wetland education area in the park. A fire in 1994 damaged a storage trailer that was used by the Narrows-Verrazano Youth program. At the time, the New York Daily News reported that Dreier Offerman Park had three baseball fields and two soccer fields, and 1,000 people a week were using the park's facilities. By 1997, the Times reported that there were five soccer fields, and the site was a popular spot for fishing.
Wildwood Park (6950 N. Hiawatha Ave), which is located in North Edgebrook near the border with Wildwood, contains one senior and two junior baseball fields, a softball field, one football field, two tennis courts, and one playground. Wildwood Park is also known for its Junior Bears football team, the Wildwood Seminoles. Youth in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade can participate in Junior Bears or the cheerleading program. Wildwood Park is active during the summer months, with multiple sports activities and kids' play happening simultaneously.
The Surprise Recreation Campus is an athletic facility based in Surprise, Arizona. Lincoln Park, seen from the Fauntleroy-Vashon Ferry Lincoln Park waterfront walk and beach Lincoln Park is a park in West Seattle between Fauntleroy Way S.W. and Puget Sound. One of Seattle's largest parks, attractions include the paved walkway along the beach, tennis courts, baseball fields, picnic shelters, and a heated saltwater swimming pool during the summer. The park is easily accessible by car, boat or bus and is located next to the Washington State Ferries Fauntleroy terminal. The park is adjacent to the Fauntleroy neighborhood.
New York City transferred the northern section of the park, including the pond, to the Parks Department in 1914 and opened it to the public in 1919. At this time the surrounding area was still rural. However, it developed rapidly in the 1920s with the building of new houses and streets. In the 1930s, during the Great Depression, the Parks Department under Robert Moses built additional recreational facilities with the help of the Works Progress Administration, including a boat landing, playgrounds, tennis courts, and baseball fields.
Individual softball and baseball fields have been installed along with a new turf field to be used for football, field hockey, soccer, and lacrosse. A rubberized track was added. First a square, three-floor building was built and connected by a hallway to the old building. Over the next summer a long section of the new building was completed and attached directly to the first phase, and most of the old building was demolished leaving only a small section of science and music classrooms.
The Greater Bustleton Civic League, originally an alliance of the major local churches but now a neighborhood organization dealing primarily with zoning issues, has served the area for more than sixty years. Youth sports are organized by the Bustleton Bengals which has its home field at Robert Hayes Memorial Playground, named for a slain Philadelphia police officer who was an area resident, though, locals refer to the playground and the surrounding park areas as either Conwell Playground or Five Diamonds (due to its five baseball fields).
The league is continually on the lookout for college-quality baseball fields for each team to permanently call home. There are plenty of fields that can host a weekend here or there, but very few have enough summer schedule flexibility to accommodate a 37-game season. Most college facilities have summer camps or youth tournaments that would conflict with LCBL games. One potential solution is the creation of a new baseball-only four-field complex in St. Louis, though no plans are currently in the works.

Peter Johansen High School is public school located in the eastern portion of Modesto, CA. It is part of Modesto City Schools and serves students in grades 9-12. The school is a two-story structure with brick exterior. A par 3 hole at Forest Hills Then-Augusta State University opened a second campus in 1991 for athletics, complete with a 3,800-seat arena—Christenberry Fieldhouse, named in 2003—and softball and baseball fields. The J. Fleming Norvell Golf House was added in 2007 with an adjacent driving range, putting green, and chipping area. The campus contains Forest Hills Golf Club, home of the men's and women's golf teams and a public course available for play, and the 500-bed University Village student housing.
The Japanese also brought baseball to Taiwan. There were baseball teams in elementary schools as well as public schools, and the Japanese built baseball fields such as Tainan Stadium. It became such a widespread sport that, by the early 1930s, nearly all major secondary schools and many primary schools had established representative baseball teams. The development of the game in Taiwan culminated when a team from Kagi Agricultural and Forestry School, an agriculture and forestry high school, ranked second in Japan's Kōshien national high-school baseball tournament.
For many years it hosted an Antique (steel wheeled) Tractor Show. Marshall County is home to one of the largest and most complete parks in the Purchase area. It is built upon land donated from a private family in memory of their son who was killed in action in the Vietnam War.

Now proceeding northeast, NY 183 crosses into the town of Williamstown. In Williamstown, NY 183 winds through fields of Williamstown, entering a five-way intersection with Grant Road, Gifford Road, Stone Hill Road and Sargent Davis Road. The route bends further to the northeast, entering the hamlet of Williamstown, passing baseball fields and a local cemetery.
New scoreboard Memorial Recreation Park is an athletic and recreation complex in Port Huron, Michigan. The main facility of the complex is a 5,500-seat stadium, home to the Port Huron Northern High School and Port Huron High School football teams. In addition, there are in the complex tennis courts, four baseball fields, four softball fields, several football fields, and a quarter-mile track. The complex was built in 1945 and is dedicated to the men and women of Port Huron who served in World War II.

EGHS currently shares its pool with aquatic teams from Rolling Meadows High School. In 2006, EGHS started its annual Grenaissance, a day devoted to the arts that includes hands-on workshops and demonstrations in areas such as Computer Graphics, Music, Dance, Stage Acting/Performances, and others. During the first week of the 2007-2008 school year, EGHS was closed for one day due to the flooding of nearby Salt Creek. The flooding completely submerged the varsity baseball fields and partially covered the football/track and soccer areas.

Thompson Park takes up at total of . The Manalapan Lake is located on the eastern edge of the park. The park in total has four tennis courts, four basketball courts, two handball courts, three baseball fields, a softball field, many soccer fields, multiple picnic groves equipped with grills, three hiking/biking trails, fishing, animal haven, and a gazebo.
The Heart of Texas Council of Governments granted the city of Marlin $35,000 to remove fifteen dilapidated buildings and structures in the town, which included 300 tons of debris. Over of water lines were constructed on 20 streets in 2011. The city also started and completed a 500,000-gallon water tower project. In 2011, the city brought back its Annual Music and Blues Festival, and raised money to revamp the city baseball fields and revive the City Little League, which attracted 160 children that year.
The undulating lawn, music stands, and lengthy arbor have been removed. Mickey is a 2004 American baseball drama film that stars Harry Connick, Jr., directed by Hugh Wilson (his final directorial effort), and written by best- selling novelist John Grisham. Mickey was filmed in 2004, at baseball fields in Colonial Heights, Richmond, and Petersburg, Virginia, and also South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, home of baseball's Little League World Series (LLWS). Grisham played Little League in his home state of Mississippi. He wrote the first draft for Mickey in 1995, inspired by his Little League experience as a coach.
The King City Community Centre and King City Arena host numerous activities, such as youth hockey league matches and yoga classes. They also host many community events throughout the year, and some public King Township meetings. Leagues for girls and boys hockey, tennis, soccer, and baseball exist, and a number of clubs provide other avenues for kids to enjoy and learn. King City Memorial Park, next to the arena, has two baseball fields, several soccer fields, two children's playgrounds, and four tennis courts (two with lighting).
The campus is located in the Irvington district. In 1958, 180 residents built the East St. Paul Curling Club. There is a plaque in the building that identifies all the residents that contributed a $100 debenture so that funds could be raised for the club. In 1960 residents again got together and built an outdoor hockey rink on land donated by the municipality, right behind the curling rink. East St. Paul's recreation centre offers curling, outdoor and indoor ice hockey, summer pickleball, other fitness programs, and there is an outdoor recreation complex for skateboarding, soccer and baseball fields.

The playground was renovated for $2 million in November 2000, with new courts, play areas, a comfort station, and lawns. NYC Parks announced a $40 million restoration of the park in 2007, as part of mayor Michael Bloomberg's program to make sure all New York City residents were within a 10-minute walk of a park. The project, to be completed by 2011, called for three baseball fields, six soccer fields, picnic areas, a lawn, an amphitheater, and a bike path. The first two new turf soccer fields were completed in 2008.

NY 394 begins at an intersection with NY 5 (here part of the Seaway Trail) in Barcelona, on the shore of Lake Erie. The route heads to the southeast, paralleling Chautauqua Creek and meeting the New York State Thruway (I-90) at exit 60 a quarter-mile (0.4 km) from NY 5\. Prior to 1999, Naval Air Station Cecil Field included nearly . During that era, the city of Jacksonville created the Cecil Field Park, which is now part of the Cecil Recreation Complex. The Mitchell Arena was built in 1979 and is home to community's ice hockey teams, nicknamed the Mitchell Mustangs, which play in various Eastman Minor Hockey leagues. The main park in Preston is Riverside Park. It is Cambridge's largest community park with an area of 256 acres (1.02 km².) The park contains a splash pad, two playgrounds, tennis courts, soccer pitch, a skateboard park, picnic areas that can be reserved, and a multitude of walking trails. The baseball fields are used often and on Canada Day there is always an event at the field whether it is a fair, bands at a bandstand, or fireworks. Riverside Park also hosts a fishing derby on Canada Day when support is available.
The playground (at right) in eastern Juniper Valley Park was renovated in 2006. Briefly the swamp was again mined for peat to support road projects of New York City parks commissioner Robert Moses. By 1942 the Works Progress Administration had completed improvement efforts on the portion of the park east of 76th Street to include eight tennis courts, four baseball fields, handball courts, and a sprinkler/wading pool. The park's western third was left in its original swampy condition except for some paved walking paths and simple lighting.

To facilitate activities for Perimeter School, the church also has a Junior Olympic Swimming Pool, 200 meter track and field, 2 baseball fields that can be converted into 3 soccer fields, and a full ropes course along with a picnic pavilion. Completed in August 1996, the heart of Perimeter Church, Buildings A & B, are 140,000 square feet.
In the 1970s, It was used for Summer Stock Plays on the outdoor stage to the south of the main road. In the 1990s, the Deal test site was renamed Palaia Park, and a system of paved pathways have been laid throughout the site. The park contains soccer and baseball fields, and boasts a large festival ground that is used by the township for civic events, and cultural festivals. The park has also hosted the USA Track & Field (USATF), USA 40 km Racewalking championships that occur in early September.
George Rogers Park is a public park at intersection of Ladd and South State streets in Lake Oswego, Oregon, United States. This park contains two baseball fields, a soccer field, access to the Willamette River, a memorial garden area, restrooms, a playground, and two outdoor tennis courts. The park also features the Oregon Iron Company Furnace, which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the Department of the Interior. The park is named after George Rogers—a City Councilman—in appreciation for his devoted efforts to develop and maintain the grounds.
The Lansdowne Live proposal envisioned rebuilding Frank Clair Stadium to support not only Canadian Football, but also professional soccer. The remaining south side stands would be torn down and new stands built, while the north side stands would be renovated. Early versions of the plan included practice baseball fields, soccer pitches, a Koi pond, a walk through aquarium in Aberdeen Pavilion and an outdoor amphitheatre. The plan eventually focused on enhancing the park portion of the site renovating the Civic Centre and adding a commercial element that would help fund the stadium renovations.
Bock made his mark on the football and baseball fields at Ozarks in the 1950s. But Bock's greatest achievements came after starring at Ozarks. Bock was among the most prominent and successful High School baseball coaches in the country for four decades. His teams captured nine state baseball titles during his career which includes a state record five championships in a row. He won state titles at Fort Smith St. Anne's Academy in 1967, Sylvan Hills in 1974, Texarkana in 1982 and Pine Bluff in 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1992 and 1995.
BMCA offers visitors an array of activities and attractions, including picnicking, hiking, soccer and baseball fields, a golf driving range, bird watching, nature viewing, a Treetop Trekking aerial course and a BMX track. The park's regular operating season runs from mid-April to Thanksgiving weekend each year, weather permitting. During the regular season, people can enter the park for free during weekdays, but must pay a small fee for weekend visits. Large groups of people can also choose to book a private onsite picnic area if they wish.
Usually before every game it is watered down to keep the dust from spreading. On youth and amateur baseball fields, the mound may be much different from the rule book definition due to erosion and repair attempts. Even in the major leagues, each mound gains its own character, as pitchers are allowed to kick away pieces of dirt in their way, thereby sculpting the mound a bit to their preference. The pitcher may keep a rosin bag on the rear of the mound to dry off his hands.

The park's land area is surrounded by NH 128, two roads that branch off it, and a minor road which intersects NH 111A. Muldoon Park offers many short walking trails, four variously sized baseball fields (ranging from t-ball to official), a soccer field, and a play area. Most of the trails lead to the park's two ponds, local roads and houses or to Beaver Brook, a small river.
The town of Pelham completed an 18-hole disc golf course here, stretching over a quarter-mile, in September 2007.The Eagle-Tribune, October 15, 2007 The Pelham Parks and Recreation department has recently added two non-official sized baseball fields to the southwest corner of the park. Construction is complete on one field with the exception of dugouts, and the other field is still under construction, as of September 2013. There is now an 18-hole disc golf course at this park, that includes a spot to hold gatherings.
Thomas Lowry, who lived on a hill overlooking the grounds, and others donated most of the land for The Parade to the Minneapolis park board in 1904. The board did not act on Lowry's suggestion for a golf course for the park but did express its intent to use the area for active recreation purposes. In the spring of 1908, the park board developed five baseball fields at The Parade, which were the city's first public recreation facilities. They were so popular that a permit system was created.
The Jazz Percussion Group has also performed throughout Europe and the United States as well as jazz festivals and state conferences. The JPG has brought numerous honors to the University since their beginning in 2003. The pedestrian campus also includes a library with 561,900 volumes, a gym with an eighth-mile indoor running track, computer labs, tennis courts, baseball fields, soccer fields, a nature trail, a quarter-mile (400 m) running track, two climbing walls, and basketball courts. The school is now in the process of reclaiming its former campus and is officially known as Simmons College of Kentucky. Beginning around 1874 Limerick was the site of two successive baseball fields, both named Eclipse Park and located at 7th and Kentucky streets (across the street from each other). They were the home of Louisville's major league team, the Louisville Colonels (originally the Louisville Eclipse) from 1882 until the team folded in 1899. It was here that Hall of Famer Honus Wagner made his major league debut on July 19, 1897.

In 1950, the Cowbelles organized a barbecue to give the community a chance to gather on the last Sunday of the year and to raise money for the March of Dimes. In 1960, the non-profits and churches in Laveen formed the Laveen Community Council (LCC), which took over the barbecue and began channeling most of the proceeds to pay for lights on the baseball fields at Laveen School, although donations to the March of Dimes continued into the 1970s. By 1984, the barbecue had raised a cumulative $71,000.
Camp Androscoggin is part of the Central Maine Camp League (CMCL), competing with Camps Cobbossee, Caribou, Manitou, and others camps in sports, including baseball, soccer, tennis, basketball, archery, and swimming. Land sports take place on its two baseball fields, two soccer fields, three basketball courts, twelve tennis courts, archery and rifles ranges, and a climbing wall. A recent addition to sport facilities is the Foster Fieldhouse, with a high school regulation-sized basketball court. Water sports use a shoreline for competitive and instructional swimming, sailing, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing, waterskiing and wakeboarding.
The Household No. 1 Site is an archaeological site in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, United States. Located off Timms Lane in Rostraver Township, the site lies on a bluff above the Youghiogheny River. Local archaeologists knew of the site in the early part of the twentieth century; the best records of the site are from amateur George Fisher, who studied the area from 1900 to 1950. More complete records were obtained after a 1980 investigation, which was part of the planning for the construction of baseball fields in the vicinity.
The trail begins at Letort Park, which has two baseball fields, a "Fort Letort" playground, and a tennis court. Because homes have been built adjacent to the stream, a segment of trail departs from the stream and former railbed to follow roads between the park and Lamberton Middle School. This section of the trail is approximately 8,757 ft of gravel path with beautiful overhanging trees throughout it, which concludes the trail at Spring Garden Street. The trail is supported by numerous organizations in the local Carlisle area and surrounding area of Pennsylvania.
It is a top-loading facility with additional amenities including concessions on both the concourse and ground levels, luxury boxes on one side, three press boxes on the other, 8 restrooms, a lounge with full bar, conference room and lower level meeting room. Skates are available for rental for public skate sessions, there is a skate sharpener on site, and small skating accessories concession. Parking is available next to the building (125 spaces) and another 1500 spaces are across the street near the baseball fields. Additional parking is available at the Q Casino.
The school is four stories tall, two city blocks long, and includes four separate buildings. The campus underwent a moderate expansion during 2005 when the old shop building was knocked down and a new building was erected in its place. A catwalk connects the main building to the T&I; building and allows students to cross sheltered from inclement weather. The facilities include a daycare center, a planetarium, six tennis courts, one soccer field, four baseball fields, a 1/16-mile indoor track and a 1/4-mile track across the street to the east.
Alley Pond Park contains numerous sports fields. The northern section of the park near Cloverdale Boulevard and Horatio Parkway contains Horatio Playground as well as a baseball field, a basketball court, and two handball courts. The central section, at 67th Avenue between 230th and 233th Streets, contains Alley Playground as well as a baseball field, a basketball court, and four handball courts. Springfield Boulevard between 73rd and 76th Avenues, at Alley Pond Park's southwestern corner, has five baseball fields and a soccer field, as well as restrooms and a picnic area.
Landen Deerfield Park is a 95-acre park located off U.S. Route 22 in Landen, OH. The park is home to 8 baseball fields, two playgrounds, a large lake for fishing, numerous hiking trails and a large area for soccer and football fields. The park also offers an outdoor basketball court, two tennis courts, a concession stand, restrooms and shelters, along with picnic areas and grills. The park also features and open air amphitheater for plays and concerts. Landen Deerfield park is jointly run by Warren County and Deerfield Township.
The landfill, once the world's largest man-made structure, was closed in 2001, but was briefly re-opened for the debris from Ground Zero following the September 11 attacks in 2001. It is being converted into a park. Plans for the park include a bird-nesting island, public roads, boardwalks, soccer and baseball fields, bridle paths, and a 5,000-seat stadium. Today, freshwater and tidal wetlands, fields, birch thickets, and a coastal oak maritime forest, as well as areas dominated by non-native plant species, are all within the boundaries of Fresh Kills.
The beach is located in a protected inlet so the water, though part of the Atlantic Ocean, is always relatively placid. The overpass that was built at the time allowed pedestrians to cross over subway tracks to reach the beach from the busy Bennington Street. The new waterfront development in Sunbury will provide a marina with transient boat docks, walking trails, gardens, an amphitheater and a new accessible fishing pier. Three acres of land will be added to the river side of the flood wall. The VFW Post 3656 Wake Island Memorial, complete with a display of artillery and military equipment, commemorates the Battle of Wake Island during World War II. RV and tent camping is available, and the lake features picnic areas, a playground, a boat launch, swimming and fishing.
Neshannock Towhship's main recreation center is Pearson Park, which includes a members- only community pool, a playground, two Little League baseball fields, a party center (the Hutchison Center), a 1-mile walking trail, six tennis courts, a basketball court, and a volleyball court. Neshannock Tennis team's home court is at the park's tennis courts. Also part of Pearson Park is Hess Ice Rink and Baseball Field. The Hess Ice Rink is an ice rink where hockey is played and has free skating when hockey is not going on.
Hatboro Memorial Park Public parks serving the borough of Hatboro include Hatboro Memorial Park, Eaton Park, Tanner Park, Miller Meadow, and Blair Mill Park (home of the Hatboro Little League baseball fields). The Hatboro Memorial Pool is located adjacent to Hatboro Memorial Park and is open during the summer from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. The pool offers a water slide, a baby pool, and a dew drop. The Hatboro Memorial Pool offers day passes and season memberships, with lower rates for borough residents, and has a swim team.
Cummings Park is located in Stamford, Connecticut, US. It is made up of about 79 acres (320,000 m²) of shorefront property on Long Island Sound. The main attraction of the park is Cummings Beach, which once had a seasonal harbor seal colony of which only a white marble seal statue is left. The park also has a playfield, four baseball fields, several basketball and tennis courts, rest rooms, a seasonal cafe, and a hillside that is popular among locals for winter sledding. A public marina, boat launch, and fishing pier are also located there.

While visiting Pullman in the spring of 1959, Graves fell and broke a hip. That December, he was hospitalized in Seattle for treatment of a liver ailment and died several weeks later in January 1960 at age 73. The six- lane parkway continues eastward through Albertson, crossing under a railroad line and entering exit 29, which connects to Roslyn Road. The Northern State then enters Old Westbury, passing a large set of baseball fields. Now paralleling Glen Cove Road, the Northern State proceeds south into exit 30, I.U. Willets Road. A short distance to the south, the parkway enters Wheatley Hills Golf Club and into Carle Place. Bethalto Sports Complex The Bethalto Sports Complex is located on the north side of town just off Culp Lane. The complex was completed in 2006 and is made up of two baseball fields, two softball fields, two soccer fields, a grandstand, and a concession stand. The complex, which is maintained by the Village of Bethalto, replaced the old baseball and soccer fields located at Civic Memorial High School for varsity and junior varsity baseball, softball and soccer teams. Fred Finch Park is home to baseball fields and both indoor and outdoor basketball courts, acting as a hub for sports in the local area. Several of the early streets in Berkeley are named after the original farm owners of the district. There are currently two primary schools in the area, the Berkeley Public School and Berkeley West Public School. Schleicher is a small neighborhood located in the southern portion of Hammond, IN. Schleicher is located south of I-80/94, with US Route 41 (Indianapolis BLVD) bordering to the east, Columbia AVE to the west, and the Little Calumet River to its south, separating Hammond from Munster, IN. Schleicher is also the home of Optimist Baseball Fields, located on the western side of the neighborhood where James Whitcomb Riley Elementary (closed in 2005) once stood. Schleicher is dominated by standard slab, single family homes. Students in this neighborhood attend Frank O’Bannon Elementary and Donald E. Gavit Middle/High School.
Babylon Village today has three baseball fields for the high school, little league and adult play, and the high school team is named the Babylon Panthers. The Babylon Panthers varsity baseball team won Long Island championships in 2005-2006, 2012, and the New York State championship in 2007. In the following 2008 season, Coach Bicknell's team claimed back-to-back Region II Championships, but the season ended abruptly after a controversial 4th Quarter penalty in a Division 3 state semifinal game at James Monroe High School. The Monticello debate team has been to the VHSL State Championship twice in their three-year existence. On-campus facilities include a multi- purpose stadium with track, softball and baseball fields, a cross country running trail, multiple practice fields, two gymnasiums and weight rooms. The school's boys and girls tennis teams use the courts at adjacent Piedmont Virginia Community College.
Glen Park's Swinging Bridge offers a view of the South Fork rapids as it enters the Kinnickinnic River. The bridge, a replica of one designed by the Minneapolis Bridge Company and constructed in 1925, is a suspension bridge that spans the South Fork Rapids at the site of the former Cascade Mill and Dam. Below the bridge are fishing, swimming, and picnic spots. The Forest Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps is located in the vicinity of the former station. The former industrial block west of the line is currently a shopping center. The land east of the line south of Metropolitan Avenue where the Parkside-Montauk spur used to be is currently the site of the Metropolitan Avenue Public School Campus built from 2006 to 2010; the northern entrance to the campus is on Metropolitan Avenue, and the school building sits on the former right-of-way of the northern Montauk connection. The southern wye is used by baseball fields.

The number of campers each summer is about 900.

Crestwood sits on of open land with a backdrop of dense woods of spruce and pine that are characteristic of the Kawartha district. It neighbors James Strath Public School, which is the largest feeder school for Crestwood. It contains a track just short of 400 metres, two baseball fields, a football field that doubles as soccer fields, a tennis court, a shot put area, and a triple jump area.

It is the center of a municipal complex that includes parking lots, baseball fields and other auxiliary government buildings between Bedford Road and New York State Route 22 (NY 22), at this point a divided four-lane highway, with IBM's corporate headquarters opposite. East of the district is the Wampus River, a tributary of the Byram, buffered on either side by public parks. Bedford Road continues for before reaching a dead end at one of the exit ramps for the interchange of Interstate 684 and NY 22. North of the district is the Armonk Square development, a mix of retail and residential properties.
With the opening of East High School, the district began splitting the student's population with B. Reed Henderson High School located in the borough. All students from Fugett and some students from Stetson Middle School would attend W.C. East until 2006, with the opening of Rustin High School. The district began a large renovation project in the 1990s, with East’s project beginning in 2003 and ending in 2006. This included renovations to the existing building and athletic fields, as well as construction of new baseball fields, a new science wing for the school, and a new basketball gymnasium.

By the early 1990s, Goodrich said that the park was a boon for South Jamaica, which at the time was majority-black and primarily lower- class. The region had long been neglected by city officials, having been "perceived as being part of an affluent middle-class community in Queens", namely the predominantly black neighborhood of St. Albans. To reduce danger in the park, the SQPA kept the park brightly lit, and gave its members walkie- talkies. The SQPA continued to make major renovations to the park, including adding baseball fields, soccer/football fields, tennis courts, and a gym.
In 1941, new athletic fields were completed in the area of campus just south of Rockwell Field along Summit Street that had previously been known as the College Farm. Although the baseball field was completed in time for the 1941 season, the grass had not taken root, so the baseball team continued to use Rockwell Field for an additional season. The new athletic fields included separate football and baseball fields with a cinder track around the football field. Memorial Stadium was built around the football field nine years later in 1950, replacing the original wooden stands.
Miller was born in 1945 in Kansas City, Missouri, but spent most of his childhood in Bismarck, North Dakota. It was there, living next to 5 baseball fields and a golf course, that he developed his lifelong passion for both sports. Miller's family moved to the Chicago, Illinois, area during high school, and from there he went to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He chose to major in chemical engineering, within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, later stating that he preferred the wider range of education provided by a liberal arts education.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) Park (originally named League Island Park and locally known as "The Lakes") is an aesthetically designed park located along the Delaware River in the southernmost point of South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, comprising some which includes a golf course, about of buildings, roadways, pathways for walking, landscaped architecture, and a variety of picnic and recreation areas placed within about of natural lands including ponds and lagoons. Meadow Lake with baseball fields behind it. Interstate 95 borders the park, with the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard behind it. Above an airplane begins its landing at Philadelphia International Airport.
Paulo Orlando became the first Brazilian born player to win the World Series in 2015. Sport traditionally practiced mostly by descendants of Japanese through the Japanese communities in Brazil. It is little popular in the country, but with the cable TV coverage of the games, baseball is also gaining fans among non-nisseis in the sport, currently several regional leagues are on the rise in the country, however, the difficulty in finding baseball fields prevents regular practice of the sport that is often played on adapted football fields. The National team appeared in the 2013 World Baseball Classic.
Downey Park is a park in Union Park, Florida. The park is operated by Orange County Parks and Recreation, and offers a variety of programs and recreational opportunities for local residents. Its facilities include a baseball complex (home of the Union Park Little League) with four baseball fields and one softball field, a fishing dock, two rentable pavilions, a water playground (The Splash Pad), a seasonally lifeguarded lakefront with a swimming area, a skate park, a basketball court, picnic areas, and two playgrounds. The park is operated 363 days a year; it is closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
South Hill is home to three major parks owned and operated by Pierce County. Heritage Recreation Center is a 40-acre sports complex with baseball fields, soccer fields, and multi-purpose fields located between Rogers High School and Zeiger Elementary School. South Hill Community Park is a 40-acre park with a playground, two soccer fields, and both the South Hill Loop Trail and the Nathan Chapman Memorial Trail, a 1.6 mile paved pathway through forest and wetlands that connects the park to the Heritage Recreation Center. According to the Pierce County website, the Nathan Chapman Memorial Trail was named after Sgt.
Early History of area: Sunset Lake was once the home of Tumbling Dam Park, situated at the southeast corner of Sunset Lake in Bridgeton. The Park was located on the shore of the lake and started out as a boat rental and pavilion area for picnics during the Victorian era. Eventually the park evolved to include early amusement park rides, like the one built by a local company called Pretzel Amusement Ride Company a bowling alley, baseball fields, concession stands etc. Notable celebrities of the time also visited Tumbling Dam Park; among them were counted the Wright Brothers, and Anne Oakley.
The Sports Center covers 60 hectares and has 41 fields and courts: 25 soccer fields, five for indoor soccer, two American football fields, four tennis courts, four basketball courts, four volleyball courts, two jai alai courts, two baseball fields, an aerobics floor, playgrounds and recreational areas. It also contains a nearly Olympic-sized stadium, a cycling track and two gymnasiums. However, as of January 2010, it is closed to the public because state and municipal authorities have not regularized the title of the land on which it sits. Craig's father was an early volunteer to help build the baseball fields that became the Ronald Reagan Sports Complex near Temecula Valley High School in Temecula, California. As soon as he was able to swing a baseball bat, his parents entered him into the national Tee Ball division of Little League Baseball where his father coached and his mother served on the board of directors. While participating on the 14-and-under USA Baseball team, he played games in Venezuela. At Chaparral High School, Temecula, California, Craig was a two- sport standout athlete in baseball and basketball.
Around the same time, Nat Strong, a white businessman, started using his ownership of baseball fields in the New York City area to become the leading promoter of blackball on the East coast. Just about any game played in New York, Strong would get a cut. Strong eventually used his leverage to almost put the Brooklyn Royal Giants out of business, and then he bought the club and turned it into a barnstorming team. When Foster joined the Leland Giants, he demanded that he be put in charge of not only the on-field activities but the bookings as well.
Telephone Pioneers of America Park, also known as Telephone Pioneers Park or Telephone Park, is an adaptive recreation park serving the needs of physically disabled persons in Phoenix, Arizona. The park opened in 1988 from private donations collected by the Telephone Pioneers of America and is the first barrier-free park in the United States. Managed by the Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department, the park features two beep baseball fields, a therapeutic pool, a wheelchair-accessible playground, an 18-station exercise course, racquetball, volleyball, tennis, basketball and shuffleboard. Picnic facilities with open shelters known as ramadas are available.
The main route into the neighborhood, Studewood Street, is a three-lane reversible road, in which the middle lane is dedicated to southbound traffic (toward downtown) during the morning rush hour, and northbound traffic (into the neighborhood) during the evening rush hour. It is one of only a few such streets in Houston. The Woodland Heights is home to Lights In the Heights, where most homes are decorated with Christmas lights and various performances can be found around the neighborhood. The walking paths, baseball fields, and public swimming pool along White Oak Bayou, which runs along the neighborhood's southern border, provide views of the Downtown Houston skyline.
The Carpenter Complex is a complex of four baseball fields, training facilities, and offices in Clearwater, Florida. It opened as Carpenter Field in 1967. It is the Florida home of the Philadelphia Phillies baseball operations, spring training site for the Phillies’ minor league players, home to the Gulf Coast League Phillies, and adjacent to Spectrum Field, spring training home of the Philadelphia Phillies and regular season home of the Clearwater Threshers. While the Complex is now adjacent to Spectrum Field, the Phillies, until 2004, played spring training games a short drive away, which gave the Complex its own identity in the Phillies organizational structure and the team's history.
Gladstone is often referred to as "The Year Round Playground" because of its myriad parks and activities. Gladstone's main park is Van Cleve, which hosts a playground (Kid's Kingdom), a skateboarding park, baseball field, basketball court, fitness trail, a white sand beach with water slide, boardwalk, as well as a harbor with boat ramps and fish cleaning station. Gladstone also offers the Gladstone Golf Course which eats a lot of balls while winding through the famous U.P. Forest and crossing water on 6 of 18 holes. Another Gladstone attraction is the Gladstone Sports Park, which hosts several baseball fields, skiing and snowboarding runs and a tubing facility.
Although the camp was located south of downtown Chicago, near the stockyards, the remains were originally interred at the site of today's Lincoln Park. Today, their gravesites may be found at Oak Woods Cemetery in the southern part of Chicago. A one-acre (4,000 m²) mass grave and a monument erected by Southerners and Chicago friends in 1895 memorializes these Southerners whose earthly remnants remain in the North. Author George Levy believes that remains of many of the Confederate prisoners are still to be found beneath what are currently baseball fields, the former site of the potter's field. An estimated 35,000 people total were buried in the park.
Gypsy Hill Park is a recreational park situated in the center of Staunton, Virginia, United States, where Churchville Avenue (off of route 250) and Thornrose Avenue intersect. The park contains various public services and attractions, including football and baseball fields, the Thomas D. Howie Memorial National Guard Armory, a large bandstand pavilion, a golf course, a basketball court, a gym, and the central duck pond equipped with food dispensers, allowing visitors to feed the ducks and fish. Throughout the park are picnic tables, grills and covered pavilions. Constitution Drive, an almost road, runs through the park and is often used as a walking and bike path.
Built to relieve overcrowding at Bradford High School, the original school was completed in the fall of 1964, with the first class graduating in June 1965. A successful referendum in 2005 gave the school a new, larger field house, team locker rooms, and a new weight room. In the summer of 2009, the cafeteria was remodeled and expanded into the original commons. A 2015 referendum enabled the renovation of Ameche Field in the summer of 2017, including new bleachers and press box, a new track, and new team locker rooms, as well as enlargement of the tennis courts and turfing of the softball and baseball fields.
During his journey to the States, Ley had seen the way in which baseball fields had been laid out by companies and factories for the use by their workers and decided to follow suit on his return to Derby. Juniper Valley Park, near Juniper Boulevard South, in Middle Village Juniper Valley Park is a public park located within Middle Village, Queens, New York, United States. The park is bordered by Juniper Boulevard North on the north, Juniper Boulevard South on the south, Lutheran Avenue on the west, and Dry Harbor Road on the east; it is split into two parts by 80th Street. The park contains tennis, handball, Paddleball, basketball and bocce courts, as well as seven baseball fields, and a quarter-mile running track around a turf football/soccer field. Since the 1930s it has been run and operated by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.
Several stadiums hosted multiple sports teams prior to the advent of multipurpose stadiums. In New York City, the Polo Grounds hosted football teams early on; its rectangular nature lent itself well to football, but was also—somewhat less well—used for baseball. The original Yankee Stadium was designed to accommodate football, as well as track and field (Yankee Stadium popularized the warning track, originally designed as a running track around baseball fields), in addition to its primary use for baseball. Wrigley Field, while originally built for baseball, also hosted the Chicago Bears, just as Comiskey Park hosted the Chicago Cardinals and Tiger Stadium hosted the Detroit Lions.
After a referendum on November 8, 2016, it was announced that the school would be moved to a new building and renamed Tech High School. The 100-year-old school building celebrated its last school year in June of 2019. Athletic facilities at the new school include a pool, three court main gym and one court auxiliary gym, multipurpose activities room, fitness room, multipurpose outdoor stadium, four multipurpose grass fields, three softball fields, two baseball fields, and eight-court outdoor tennis facility. New Tech features an 800 seat auditorium; choir, orchestra, and band ensemble rooms, and small group practice rooms; 2D and 3D art studios.
The complex includes a regulation football field, two adjacent practice fields, two tennis courts, a practice putting green, a practice soccer field, two practice baseball fields, a small batting cage, a training pool, and a full length, rubberized track encircling the main football field. The U.S. Army and U.S. Navy annex buildings were left standing during construction, but Rush Boulevard was filled in with top soil and cut off from the rear lot. The buildings, now referred to as the Cardinal Mooney Industrial Arts Center, have since been converted to garages where shop classes can work on vehicles and driving classes can be taught during the summer breaks.
The Mall of Georgia at 3333 Buford Drive Buford has several walking trails throughout the city; over of trails are accessible from both the Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center and the Mall of Georgia as well as walking trails at Bogan and Buford Dam parks. Bogan Park also has several baseball fields and playgrounds as well as the Bogan Park Community Center and Family Aquatics Center. Buford Dam Park is next to Lake Lanier and has areas for swimming and other recreational activities. In addition to the parks run by Gwinnett County there are five city parks located throughout Buford, and a community center, which was completed in early 2012.
A number of video recordings of the crash area were available, although none showed the crash itself the sound of the helicopter was recorded. In particular, surveillance cameras installed at the Agoura Pony Baseball Fields provided overlapping coverage of the final parts of the flight path. The FAA conducted a visibility study which used frequency analysis to determine when the aircraft made the closest approach to each camera, ground-speed, engine RPM and determine likely inflight visibility by comparing video recorded during the accident period to clear-sky imagery. The report concluded that, at the moment of the accident, the estimated visibility ranges were between one mile and 1.5 miles.
The 100th contest, which Woodberry won, took place in 2000, drew nearly 15,000 spectators, and was featured on ESPN. Before every game between the two schools, Woodberry has a bonfire reaching heights of four stories where the entire student body lines up to throw torches into a tower of logs. The bonfire draws nearly as many Woodberry fans as The Game itself. The school's facilities include an on-campus 9-hole golf course designed by Donald Ross, an indoor track/pool complex, two turf football/lacrosse fields, two baseball fields, three competition-level soccer fields, and three other grass fields for football, soccer, or lacrosse.
The Rocky Mount Sports Complex, maintained by the Parks and Recreation department, includes seven outdoor baseball fields, four softball fields, eight soccer fields, a professional disc golf course, basketball courts, and volleyball courts. The complex sees many statewide and interstate baseball and soccer tournaments. It also has a football stadium home to the NCWC Battling Bishops football team and Elizabeth City State University's annual Down East Viking Classic. The recently opened Rocky Mount Event Center administered by the city has added eight indoor basketball courts, sixteen volleyball courts, a ropes course, a climbing wall, and a family entertainment center, with plans to host indoor basketball, volleyball, and gymnastics competitions.
Northwood has a recently remodeled multipurpose stadium where their football, soccer, track and lacrosse teams play, named after former Northwood Technology Education, (mostly Electronics) teacher David Kaplan who became an activist lobbying to keep the school open in 1985. The athletic area of Northwood also includes two baseball fields, a track, and a concessions area to the left of the main stands of Kaplan Stadium. The school has a Media Center that mainly serves as a library. There is also a band room, alternate music room, a full wellness center, and a film room that is the location of Northwood's television and radio station, WNHS.
The hotel is 7 stories high (6 excluding clock tower) and has more than 125 rooms; each room on the south side of the hotel has windows that overlook center field and have shatterproof glass due to the proximity to the park. The Hilton hotel also has a restaurant which offers outdoor patio seating directly overlooking left-center field. Delta Dental Stadium is one of the only professional baseball fields in the United States with a hotel located inside/ alongside the stadium. In April 2008 the park opened the Sam Adams Bar and Grill, offering a buffet, full menu, and bar directly overlooking the left field of the park.
It had 18 tennis courts, five basketball courts, six handball courts, three baseball fields, three football fields (including one in the stadium itself), three horseshoe pitching fields, a running track, and a bowling green, as well as water fountains and lockers. In 1994, Mayor Giuliani funded a $415,000 project for concrete repairs to the stadium, and in 1998, the running track was rebuilt for nearly a million dollars. In 1934, there were two stables: a larger one east of the Putnam Division near Van Cortlandt Avenue and 242nd Street, and a smaller one to the Van Cortlandt Course clubhouse's east. The Indian Field has baseball and softball fields, a sandbox, picnic tables, tennis courts, horseshoes courts, and shuffleboard courts. The Allen Shandler Recreation Area, renamed from the Holly Park Recreation Area in 1966 after a neighborhood boy who was diagnosed with a brain tumor in the 1960s and died at age 15, has baseball fields, benches, picnic tables, barbecue grills, and a comfort station. Other activities available at the park include basketball, ice skating, and fishing.
Among other sporting events held at the Coliseum over the years were games of Major League Baseball, which were held at the Coliseum when the Brooklyn Dodgers of the National League relocated to the West Coast in 1958. The Dodgers played here until Dodger Stadium was completed in time for the 1962 season. Even allowing for its temporary status, the Coliseum was extremely ill-suited for baseball due to the fundamentally different sizes and shapes of football and baseball fields. A baseball field requires roughly 2.5 times more area than a football gridiron, but the playing surface was just barely large enough to accommodate a baseball diamond.

The USA Baseball National Training Complex at Thomas Brooks Park in Cary, North Carolina, opened in 2007. Located within the 221-acre Thomas Brooks Park, the complex includes four baseball fields – a stadium field and three training fields – all with dimensions of 330 feet down the lines and 400 feet in centerfield. All fields are maintained at Major League Baseball standards. In recognition of more than 30 years of public service and countless accomplishments for the citizens of Cary, the Cary Town Council named the stadium field in honor of former Town Manager William B. Coleman, Jr., upon his retirement on October 17, 2008.
Sycamore Highlands Park is a 10-acre neighborhood park serving recreational needs of the residents within the Sycamore Highlands area. This park has views of Riverside's downtown and surrounding areas and includes access to the many trails within the extensive Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Park. The 30-acre Andulka Park is adjacent to the neighborhood at the intersection of Central and Chicago Avenues. This park includes two new baseball fields, a tennis complex with a pro-shop, two lighted basketball courts, two volleyball courts, restroom and concession facilities, children's playground, picnic facilities, open meadow areas, parking and a walking/jogging trail with a native habitat area.
As part of that agreement, many of AAU's national championships in many sports are played at the Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista. In 1996, the AAU relocated its national headquarters to Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. More than 40 AAU national events are conducted at the resort's ESPN Wide World of Sports. The ESPN Wide World of Sports features a double- deck 7,500--seat baseball stadium and baseball quadraplex, a fieldhouse that accommodates up to six hardwood courts, a softball quadraplex, two youth baseball fields, a track and field complex, and four multi-purpose performance fields sized for soccer tournaments.
The park was purchased from the Graafstra family in 2010, and is planned to be developed into sports fields, hiking trails, camping areas, and a swimming beach, in addition to a riparian habitat. Across the South Fork is Twin Rivers Park, Arlington's second-largest park, a park with sports fields that is owned by Snohomish County but maintained by the city of Arlington. The city's third- largest park, Bill Quake Memorial Park, consists of soccer and baseball fields on near Arlington Municipal Airport. The county government also owns the Portage Creek Wildlife Area, a wildlife reserve located outside of city limits near downtown Arlington.

In 1985, the local baseball fields started hosting their own games for locals team on the local Don Herring Field. Some of the former lake remains, including a portion of the former dam in the southwestern corner of the park, and Amenia Island Cemetery still stands along New York State Route 343 towards Sharon, Connecticut, but on stable ground. On May 14, 2009, the town of Amenia secured $3,829 (2009 USD) from their recreation fund to help make improvements to Beekman Park, and on June 11, 2009, the money distribution was approved. The park is made up mainly of three baseball and softball fields.
For student recreation there is a new Fitness and Recreation Center, a two-floor, 60,000 square foot space featuring six exercise rooms, including indoor cycling, functional training and yoga. There is also an on-campus aquatic center, the pool has a deep swimming section for scuba classes; it is open to students at limited times. UT offers sand volleyball courts, outdoor basketball courts, a fully equipped intramural sports gym with indoor courts, intramural softball fields, tennis courts, a ropes course, a soccer field, a running track, intramural baseball fields, a multi-use intramural field and a fully equipped workout center. UT's theater department hosts student produced and acted plays across Kennedy Boulevard in the historic Falk Theatre.
Being closer to Hollywood than the other major league baseball fields at the dawn of motion pictures, Wrigley Field was a popular place to film baseball movies. The first film known to have used Wrigley as a shooting location was 1927's Babe Comes Home, a silent film starring Babe Ruth. Some well-known movies filmed there were The Pride of the Yankees (1942) and the Damn Yankees (1958). When Frank Capra filmed the public rally scene at Wrigley for Meet John Doe in August 1940,Chapman, John, "Looking at Hollywood", Chicago Tribune, September 2, 1940 massive sprinklers simulated a downpour because the director included one rainy scene in each movie as good luck.
The park was acquired between 1913 and 1916 and is named after President Grover Cleveland who was born in Caldwell, and was the 22nd and 24th President of the United States. The Olmsted Brothers were asked to create a plan for recreation use of most of the park area. By the summer of 1914, development of recreation facilities -- including tennis courts, baseball fields, a playground, sand court, wading pool, and a shelter house to service these facilities -- was underway, with improvements completed for public use by 1916. Park features include lighted tennis courts, shuffleboard courts, horseshoe pitches, fieldhouse, baseball field, summer concert activities, playground, fishing, jogging walkways, picnic grove, and ice skating.
Moses also proposed to charge 25 cents for parking and 10 cents to enter the boardwalk, drawing up to 2.4 million people within 30 years. The development included adding bathhouses; parking lots with spaces for 7,000 cars; several small bus terminals; comfort stations; and recreational facilities such as playgrounds, baseball fields, handball courts, roller hockey fields, skateparks, shuffleboard courts, bocce courts, and checkers tables. Some of fill were dredged from the Lower New York Bay to protect the adjacent uplands. Moses claimed that in the original project, the area inland of the boardwalk was too narrow to accommodate recreational facilities, but that the city now had the land on which to build these facilities.
The city of Vadnais Heights has over of parkland spread across 14 different parks. Including play equipment, trails, hard surface areas, picnic shelters, soccer and softball/baseball fields, hockey and pleasure rinks, basketball and tennis courts, and restrooms. Recently, an accidental fire burned approximately of Minnesota Department of Natural Resources protected wetland habitat near Vadnais Community Park on County Road F. Vadnais Lake is surrounded by protected land with miles of walking trails. There is no boating or swimming in the lake and fishing is only allowed in designated areas on the southwest side in order to protect the water quality as the lake serves as a water source for the Ramsey County area.
In its final state, Patrick Henry Village had a large number of educational, recreational and public facilities as well as shops and dining facilities. Schools included Patrick Henry Elementary School (Grades K-5) and Heidelberg Middle School (Grades 6-8), as well as a guest Canadian elementary/middle school (Grades K-8) for the children of Canadian military personnel. Recreational facilities included a gym, a bowling alley, a miniature golf course, a movie theater, tennis courts and baseball fields, the Heidelberg Non-Commissioned Officer's Club, and the Heidelberg Commissioned Officer's Club. Public services included a clinic for dentistry, a barbershop, a library, a post office, and a Roman Catholic and Protestant church.
Dublin has two dog parks: Dougherty Hills Dog Park, which comprises an area for large dogs and another area for small dogs and a dog run at Bray Commons. Whole Foods Market, Nordstrom Rack, Dick's Sporting Goods, HomeGoods, and a second Target location, have all opened for business in the Eastern side of the city, along with restaurant chains BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse, and Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar. Dublin also opened Fallon Sports Park in East Dublin in 2010. The first phase of the Fallon Sports Park includes two adult softball fields, two little league baseball fields, two synthetic turf soccer fields, four lighted basketball courts, four lighted tennis courts, and a rough grade BMX bike facility.
The present school building is in size and has a 1400-seat auditorium, a gymnasium of a 1500-person capacity, a 2-story library complete with computer lab, a full size cafeteria and a 6-Lane Natatorium. Outside the school are the district's baseball fields, softball fields, and tennis courts. In 2011, a $41 Million Dollar addition/renovation project took place within several phases. Phases 1 and 2 included renovating and moving the current library, replacing the entire physical plant, which one of two boilers from the original building were out of service, construction of school administrative offices as well as band classrooms, all of which were completed in the spring of 2012.
Originally designed by the Cleveland architectural firm of Hubbell & Benes, Shaker Heights High School has a capacity of about 2,000 students and covers . There are 82 regular classrooms, ten combined science lab/classrooms, four art rooms, and two music rooms outfitted with instrument lockers. Athletics facilities include locker rooms, an outdoor track, an outdoor FieldTurf athletic field marked for soccer, American football, lacrosse and field hockey, two baseball fields, a weight room, two indoor gymnasiums, a multipurpose room (with wrestling mats and an indoor batting cage), nine hard tennis courts, a dance studio, and a fencing room. In addition, there is a two-floor cafeteria, a senior lounge, a planetarium, six computer labs, a courtyard and a library.
"Isham Park" New York City Geographic Information System map The park once extended to the Harlem River, but after the creation of Inwood Hill Park and the reconfiguration of area streets, the boundary became, for the most part, Seaman Avenue, although the baseball fields across the street are considered to be part of Isham Park and not Inwood Hill Park. The extent of the current park now equals that of the original Isham estate. The Isham mansion, which originally came with the park gift, was torn down in the 1940s due to its deteriorating condition. Isham Park is noted at its southern end for some exposed marble outcroppings which date from the Cambrian period.
Hatbox Field is a closed airfield located within city limits, two nautical miles (3.7 km) west of central Muskogee, a city in Muskogee County, Oklahoma, United States. It was opened sometime in the early 1920s and was closed in 2000. It is the location of the Love-Hatbox Sports Complex, a large recreation center and waterpark. The former airfield site includes 10 lighted baseball fields‚ eight lighted softball diamonds‚ two full-size football fields and a 30 acre‚ 19-field soccer area called the Georgia Pacific Soccer Complex. In addition‚ a 3.1-mile (5 km) asphalt Centennial Trail walking/biking exercise pathway loops around the 120 acres‚ and a former airplane hangar houses three indoor batting cages.
Facilities include five large group shelters, mini- shelters, family picnic tables and grills, three playgrounds, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, vending machines, walking trails, four baseball fields, as well as a gazebo located at the end of a scenic walkway overlooking the Lynnhaven River. People enjoying rental bicycle on the Boardwalk The Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge, established in 1938, is an 8,000-acre (32 km²) fresh water refuge that borders the Atlantic Ocean on the east and Back Bay on the west. The barrier islands feature large sand dunes, maritime forests, fresh water marshes, ponds, ocean beach, and large impoundments for wintering wildfowl. It is managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
A period of decline in the late 20th century spurred the creation of the Prospect Park Alliance, which refurbished many parts of the park starting in the late 1980s. Main attractions of the park include the Long Meadow; the Picnic House; Litchfield Villa; Prospect Park Zoo; the Boathouse; Concert Grove; Brooklyn's only lake, covering ; and the Prospect Park Bandshell that hosts free outdoor concerts in the summertime. The park also has sports facilities, including the Prospect Park Tennis Center, basketball courts, baseball fields, soccer fields, and the New York Pétanque Club in the Parade Ground. There is also a private Society of Friends (Quaker) cemetery on Quaker Hill near the ball fields.

When the stadium was configured for baseball, the portable sections would be placed in the western quadrant of the stadium along the third base-left field side. Open bullpens were located along both foul lines just beyond the ends of the Field-level seats.

The main community center in the Mountlake Terrace is the Recreation Pavilion, which opened on November 26, 1968, and includes several swimming pools, a lazy river, racquetball courts, and an indoor gymnasium.
Union Park is a municipal park in Chicago, Illinois, comprising . Located in the Near West Side, the park is just south of Ashland/Lake station on the Green and Pink lines of the Chicago 'L', bordered by North Ashland Avenue on the west, West Lake Street on the north, the diagonal North Ogden Avenue along most of the east border, and West Washington Boulevard on the south. The park has several large green fields used for demonstrations or various forms of football, playgrounds, a swimming pool, a fieldhouse, tennis courts, baseball fields, basketball courts. While the name was chosen in 1853 in reference to the United States' federal union, Union Park has a considerable labor history.
The City of El Dorado maintains an extensive parks and recreation system, including: 12 neighborhood parks, 12 playgrounds, 5 soccer fields, 4 baseball fields, 4 softball fields, 2 spray parks, 2 pools, 2 tennis courts, 2 outdoor basketball courts, a baseball stadium, an 18-hole golf course, an 18-hole disc golf course, and a 6.3 mile bike path. In addition, the community boasts a new athletic complex. The venue was completed in 2012 by the Educational Facilities Authority of Butler County, which consists of representatives from the City of El Dorado, Butler Community College and El Dorado Schools (USD 490). The complex provides a venue for football, soccer, track and other community events.
JetBlue Park, part of Fenway South Fenway South is the Player Development Complex and Spring training base of the Boston Red Sox in Fort Myers, Florida. The purpose-built training and player development complex is used year-round by the Red Sox and its minor league farm teams — Pawtucket Red Sox, Portland Sea Dogs, Salem Red Sox, Greenville Drive, and Lowell Spinners — and includes an 11,000-seat stadium and an additional six baseball fields together with training and medical facilities. As the spring training home of Red Sox it replaces nearby City of Palms Park. The stadium within Fenway South is called jetBlue Park, through sponsorship by JetBlue Airways, which has maintained major operations at Boston's Logan International Airport since 2004.
The proposed plan was to include three buildings: a general school building to accommodate 900 students, a gymnasium with three basketball courts and a seating capacity of 2000, and a faculty house with accommodations for thirty brothers. In addition, there were to be football and baseball fields, a quarter-mile cinder track, and facilities for other sports. In 1924, ten acres of land were purchased on Kenmore Avenue in the Town of Tonawanda, blocks from Village of Kenmore and on the border with North Buffalo. However, construction was delayed by inadequate transportation to the northern parts of the city, the Great Depression starting in 1929, and then World War II. Finally, after the war, plans began in earnest for the new school on Kenmore Avenue.
After his election as borough president, Carrión helped to bring the City and George Steinbrenner, owner of the New York Yankees, together for negotiations over the construction of a new Yankee Stadium. Early in his presidency, Carrión had advocated Community Benefits Agreements intended to ensure that construction in the borough would help as many residents as possible. In the end, $800 million will be invested in construction of a new Yankee Stadium with at least 25% of the contracts going to Bronx businesses and at least 25% of the jobs going to residents of the Borough. In addition, $160 million will be invested in many public parks including a running track, tennis facilities, and softball and baseball fields on parkland around and including the original Yankee Stadium.
Equestrian use of utility roads Much of the park comprises wild, rugged natural areas with hiking and equestrian trails, and this terrain separates the park into many areas or "pockets" of activities. Within the various areas are concessions, golf courses, picnic grounds, pony and train rides, and tennis courts. In 2014, two baseball fields were proposed on the east side of Griffith Park that would remove 44 trees and replace of picnic area, the largest picnic area in the park that is often used for large family gatherings, cultural fairs and festivals, reunions, and other special occasions. The plan may be altered to spare a sycamore that has been designated by the city as a "heritage tree", a living artifact of Los Angeles history.

Harris County Precinct 4 operates the Lindsay/Lyons Park and Sports Complex. The complex has barbecue grills, one barbecue pavilion, 10 lighted baseball fields, 2 lighted American football fields, picnic tables, 2 playgrounds (one is an all-inclusive playground and toilet facility for children of all physical abilities), 4 lighted softball fields, 18 unlighted soccer (football) fields, and toilet facilities. Additions added later in the park's life include a donor pavers garden, sensory garden for children with impaired sight, three 30-seat picnic pavilions, a paved walking trail around the playground, and additional trees.
Outdoors there are a football stadium and a new turf football field, an all-weather track, four soccer and other practice fields, two baseball diamonds, and seven tennis courts. The physical education facilities at the Shaker Campus include a football field; 400-meter track; three baseball fields; two soccer fields; eight tennis courts; double- size gymnasium; wrestling room; four-lane, 25-meter indoor swimming pool; and a rock climbing wall. In 2013, University School's student-created and student-led sports broadcasting network, USPN, started streaming live coverage of the school's football, soccer, basketball, hockey, lacrosse and baseball games. In 2014, University School's squash team won the Division IV national championship at the U.S. High School Team Squash Championships in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In April 2005, Baker and Toronto Star photographer Peter Power traveled to the Dominican Republic, where they spent a week touring the country's needle- ridden baseball fields to do a pair of feature stories on PED use by teenage prospects from that country. The groundbreaking series described the use of cheaper farm animal supplements as steroids alternatives and also produced an exposé of the country's "buscones"—street-level hustlers grooming prospects for bigger paydays in the U.S. Baker won his third National Newspaper Award in Canada for the stories. He also became the first Canadian to win an APSE Award in the United States, in the highest newspaper circulation category. The aftermath of the series led to Baker being hired by the Seattle Times.
In addition to the 88,000 square foot athletic center and natatorium, the academy has playing fields including: a soccer stadium, baseball fields, softball fields, multiple all-purpose fields, and a rubberized track constructed of recycled materials. As a member of the Triad Athletic Conference, AHA offers baseball, basketball, cross-country, soccer, swimming, track and field, and volleyball. The academy also hosts a number of intramural and club sports including racquetball, tennis, softball, golf, touch football, ultimate frisbee, yoga, aerobic and weight training, kayaking and sailing, karate, and rock climbing. Since 2010 the grounds of AHA have been host to 6 Points Sports Academy, the first-in-the-nation Jewish sports summer camp, part of the Union for Reform Judaism's family of summer camps.
CoolToday Park from Center Field CoolToday Park features 6,200 fixed seats that can accommodate up to 8,000, including the berm and standing room, team clubhouse, training facilities, a half-dozen practice baseball fields, six multi-use fields and space for the team's sports medicine academy. The complex is envisioned to become the heart of a planned "town center" commercial and residential district that will create opportunities for the college and nearby medical practices to partner with the team and its affiliates. The stadium itself sits on the north end of the tract, just south of the site of a planned new elementary and middle school campus. A public plaza area abutting West Villages Parkway is planned and will be used as special event space when the team is not in town.
Chan Ho Park The Dodgers have been groundbreaking in their signing of players from Asia; mainly Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. Former owner Peter O'Malley began reaching out in 1980 by starting clinics in China and South Korea, building baseball fields in two Chinese cities, and in 1998 becoming the first major league team to open an office in Asia. The Dodgers were the second team to start a Japanese player in recent history, pitcher Hideo Nomo, the first team to start a South Korean player, pitcher Chan Ho Park, and the first Taiwanese player, Chin-Feng Chen. In addition, they were the first team to send out three Asian pitchers, from different Asian countries, in one game: Park, Hong-Chih Kuo of Taiwan, and Takashi Saito of Japan.
Approximately 36% (1,261 ha) of the village is leased from the village and local landowners to the Ministry of Defense of Japan and used as United States military bases under the U.S.–Japan Status of Forces Agreement. Areas outside the current boundary of Torii Station were developed as American family housing, but have been returned to Okinawan ownership. Two facilities, Torii Communication Station (Army; 194 ha) and a part of Kadena Ammunition Storage Area (Air Force and Marine; 1066 ha), are located in the village. Senaha Communication Site (Air Force; 61 ha), Sobe Communication Site (aka Elephant Cage, decommissioned in 2006, Navy; 54 ha), and Yomitan Auxiliary Airfield (Marine; 191 ha) were returned in 2007 and have been developed into the Yomitan Village Office and civic facilities, including running tracks and baseball fields.
Portage Park is a park in the Portage Park community area of Chicago, Illinois on the National Register of Historic Places. The park stretches from Irving Park Road on the south to Berteau Avenue between Central and Long Avenues. The largest public park on Chicago's Northwest Side, it has many recreational facilities including six tennis courts, two playgrounds, a slab for in-line skating, a bike path, a nature walk, five baseball fields, two combination football/soccer fields and two fieldhouses— one housing a gymnasium and the other a cultural arts building. The park also has an Olympic-size pool featuring a large deck for sunning, misting sprays, as well as an interactive water play area with slide and diving boards in addition to a smaller heated pool.
Massaponax High School is a public school in Spotsylvania County, VA. It is part of Spotsylvania County Public Schools and is located on 8201 Jefferson Davis Highway. Massaponax High School opened in the fall of 1998 becoming the fourth high school in Spotsylvania County. Massaponax became one of the county's largest high schools and carries a current enrollment of 1,960 students in grades 9 through 12. The school complex consists of . The complex, consisting of , has the original 5,000 seat Cocoa Stadium and 6 additional baseball fields, four multi-purpose athletic fields, a arena that can accommodate three basketball courts and four volleyball courts, a 100-room air-conditioned athletes dormitory, cafeteria and meeting space. The main section of the property was valued at $3.5 million in 1984 according to the county appraiser's records. The center again hosted Major League Baseball in the spring of 1993 when the Florida Marlins played their inaugural spring training season games in Cocoa Stadium. In addition to Major League Baseball, the complex has been home to the Joe Brinkman Umpire School, Clint Hurdle's Big League Experience Camp, youth baseball, soccer, basketball and volleyball tournaments and is the home field for the Cocoa Expos professional women's soccer team.
Silver Lake The City of Dover Parks & Recreation Department maintains several parks in the city, consisting of 3 larger parks and 27 smaller parks. Silver Lake Park is a 182-acre park located along Silver Lake and offers fishing, boating, a walking/jogging path that provides views of the lake, a playground, benches, and pavilions. Schutte Park offers a variety of athletic facilities including 10 multipurpose fields, 4 lighted softball fields, a pavilion, a playground, a cross country course, waking paths, the Dover Little League baseball fields, and the John W. Pitts Recreation Center. The recreation center at Schutte Park has meeting rooms, a gym with 2 basketball courts and 3 volleyball courts, and an indoor walking track; it is home to a variety of fitness classes, sports, and sport leagues.
Champion is home to two schools, the Champion Community School (115 students in grades 1-9, plus a parent-run kindergarten), and the Hope Christian School (grades K-12). Recreational and cultural services in the village include the Champion Public Library, the Community Pool (outdoors), the Pioneer Club Seniors' Drop-In Centre, two baseball fields, the Champion Community Park and Campground, the Rodeo arena, the Royal Canadian Legion, and in the winter, a skating arena with natural ice. Retail services and businesses in Champion include a restaurant/bar, a grocery/liquor/lottery store, a self-serve gas station, a thrift store, a bank, a post office, and various other locally owned businesses. The greenway park was designed during the early stages of the creation of the Passaic County Park System by the firm of Olmsted Associates, heirs to the practice of Frederick Law Olmsted,Passaic County – Goffle Brook Park which at the time was operated by Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr. As originally planned, the park consisted of wide, manicured meadows, woodlands, and a former mill pond surrounded by walking paths. Since the 1930s, playgrounds, athletic fields, and a dog run have been added. Additionally, the borough of Hawthorne now maintains a series of small trails in the 8-Acre Woods at the southern end of the park.Borough of Hawthorne – Environmental Commission Hawthorne High School maintains a substantial recreational complex adjacent to Goffle Brook Park that includes a football stadium, running track, baseball fields, hockey rink, and tennis courts.
Plant Field, Tampa Plant Field was the original home of the minor league Tampa Smokers, the area's first professional baseball team, and was one of the first spring training sites in Florida, hosting several different teams over the decades. During one of the earliest ballgames in April 1919, Babe Ruth reportedly hit his longest home run – a 587-foot blast that is memorialized with a historical marker at the approximate spot where it landed at the current site of the University of Tampa's school of business."Babe's Longest Homer" Marker, Tampa, Florida The University of Tampa took over Plant Field in the early 1970s and renamed it Peppin-Rood Stadium after university benefactors. Since then, the school has built new facilities on its huge footprint, including a soccer field (Peppin Stadium), softball and baseball fields, dormitories, and other academic and athletic facilities.
This facility proved to be much too small.. A larger and more permanent stadium was needed. A group of civic leaders and baseball boosters lead the drive to construct a new stadium for the Grays on the western side of Williamsport on the banks of Lycoming Creek. An agreement between the Grays and the city was reached in July, 1925 to build what was then known as Memorial Field, which was named for the municipal park in which it is located.. J. Walton Bowman headed an 11-member holding company that financed and managed the construction of the ballpark at a cost of $75,000 (equivalent to $ in ). Ground was broken in the fall of 1925 and the stadium opened in time for the beginning of the 1926 New York–Pennsylvania League season.. The original dimensions of Bowman Field were quite large compared to the dimensions of modern baseball fields.
There are also football and baseball fields, and picnicking facilities. In 2011, in accordance with the most recent Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) recommendations, the Forest Glen Annex became home to the National Museum of Health and Medicine (NMHM) as well as a "Joint Center of Excellence in Infectious Disease Research." The former Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) post exchange was repurposed as office space and a new Navy Exchange (NEX) was opened at the nearby Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. The Forest Glen property was acquired by the Army during the World War II era. Formerly known as the “Walter Reed Forest Glen Annex”, after many decades as a tenant of the Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) in Washington, DC, authority over the facility was transferred on 1 October 2008 to the Installation Commander, Fort Detrick, Maryland.
Each individual seat is a bicycle, whose handles come down as the lap bars. The bike in the middle of the front row contains E.T. However, in the attraction's early years, guests also had the option of riding in a spaceship modeled after the one that E.T. came to Earth on in the movie; these ride vehicles were removed as guests preferred to ride the bikes, given how iconic they were in the famous flying scene in the movie. The vehicles travel past NASA and police officials who give chase and try to arrest the riders and capture E.T. As they are about to be caught, a police car appears out of nowhere and just as they are about to hit it, the bicycles begin to fly over the city and then into outer space. From their bikes, the guests can see a miniature city below, including real moving cars and even a football stadium and two baseball fields.
Peddie's football team visits Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C. All students must participate in theater, be on an interscholastic team, or be in one of the elective physical-education classes after school. The Ian H. Graham Athletic Center houses a swimming pool; three basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts (surrounded by an indoor Tartan track); a wrestling room; an indoor soccer and lacrosse facility with Astroturf, a 2,000-square-foot (190- m²) fitness center with state-of-the-art equipment; a room housing thirty ergometers; and a fully equipped 6-bed training room and sports-medicine center. Outdoor facilities include fourteen tennis courts, eight multipurpose fields, a specially equipped varsity football and lacrosse training field, a softball field, an Olympic-caliber ¼-mile all-weather track, a varsity football and lacrosse field, three baseball fields. The Hovnanian Fields added another six fields, dedicated seasonally to the freshmen and junior varsity soccer and lacrosse teams.
Each neighborhood had within its boundaries a site donated by Levitt & Sons for a public elementary school. Locations for churches and other public facilities were set aside on main thoroughfares such as the Levittown Parkway, likewise donated by the builder to religious groups and other organizations. Other amenities included Olympic-sized public pools, parks, "greenbelts", baseball fields and playgrounds, and a shopping center located in neighboring Tullytown borough that was considered large and modern at the time of its construction (and in fact was the largest east of the Mississippi). If a baseball game is tied at the end of the usual nine innings, the game continues into extra innings until an inning ends with one team ahead. Although games are occasionally ended as ties on account of weather or darkness (the latter happened much more often before lights were installed on most professional baseball fields in the 1940s), and some leagues (including Nippon Professional Baseball) allow only a limited number of extra innings before a game ends as a tie, professional baseball in the United States has no such limit. The longest Major League game in history (on May 1, 1920) lasted 26 innings, and a minor-league game in 1981 lasted 33 innings. In some venues, including international baseball, starting with the second extra inning, that inning may begin a full reset of the batting order to the coach's choice with up to two runners already on base, in order to increase the chances of a resolution.
The above-mentioned A Walking Tour of Buttonwoods Beach, written by Robert O. Jones, documents a few original cottages that survive to this day including the Smith S. Sweet house at 1078 Buttonwoods Avenue and a cottage at 12 12th Avenue which was also in the Sweet family. A cottage at 5 13th Avenue, across from the location of the original Moses Bixby house, built in 1872, was also leveled during the real estate boom of the 2000s upon the death of the former owner who had lived there for much of the 20th Century. Across Buttonwoods Cove, although not part of Old Buttonwoods, is Warwick City Park, which includes three baseball fields, picnic areas and shelters, three miles (5 km) of paved bicycle paths, and tennis courts among other amenities. Abutting Old Buttonwoods directly to the west is Budlong Farm, on which land is located the summer colony of the Buttonwoods Campers Association, established around the turn of the 20th century.
Prew would undertake one of his largest projects in the area in 1895, when he and business partner William Norris purchased 20 acres of land on the banks of the Connecticut River. The two would develop this land into the successor of the former South Holyoke Driving Park, fitting a half-mile racetrack which would be used for both horse racing as well as cycle racing in its ten-year history. The Parkview block on Main Street, Springdale, build In Spring of 1905, the driving park's races came to an end when, following a series of failed negotiations the city's park commission acquired the land by eminent domain, renaming it at the time Riverside Park. During that summer the city hired the respected Olmsted Brothers firm, sons of Frederick Law Olmsted of Central Park fame, to redevelop the site as a mixed use park, following a year of study their plans, which included a cricket pitch, baseball fields, a wading pool, track, and gym facilities, were completed in the summer of 1906.
The neighborhood's largest park, Langford Park, is named for former Saint Anthony Park resident Nathaniel P. Langford, who helped create the world's first national park, Yellowstone National Park. Young; and architect Sarah Susanka. Saint Anthony Park hosts its own Independence Day parade, which is followed by an all-day, all-neighborhood party in Langford Park. Peter G. "Pete" von Reichbauer is a member of the nonpartisan King County Council, representing District 7, a region of South King County which includes all of the cities of Algona and Federal Way, the entire King County portions of Auburn, Milton, and Pacific and large unincorporated areas.
