Frangas proposed that Denver Public Schools, and other districts where taxpayers contributed a substantial amount and had great need, would receive additional funds from the state via the property tax freeze as opposed to putting it into backfilling the State Budget. Frangas failed in this effort, but drew media and public attention to the problems with education funding in Colorado.

On May 31, 2019 a disgruntled employee shot and killed 12 people and injured 4 in a workplace shooting at the Princess Anne Courthouse complex, located in the city of Virginia Beach and within the Princess Anne Courthouse Volunteer Rescue Squad's first due response area. Within minutes of the first report, ambulances were staged at the Courthouse fire station and multiple units including ambulances and EMS vehicles from Norfolk, U.S. military bases and other local areas were backfilling Va Beach EMS stations along with initiation of a Mass Casualty Incident. After the shooting, Va Beach EMS along with local organizations offered support and counselling to volunteer and paid staff. Black ribbons were authorized to be worn on city IDs and over uniform badges.

In August 1867 the Liverpool Porcupine described the tunnels as being "a great nuisance" because drains ran straight into them, in one place creating a cess pool full of offensive water deep, and they were being used for dumping refuse, including down chutes built into the buildings above for the purpose. In the later 19th century the Corporation of Liverpool began backfilling the tunnels with rubble and other waste from building demolition, a process that continued sporadically into the 20th century. Little information about the excavations had been recorded and nearly all knowledge of them, and of Williamson's life in general, was derived from the 1845 account of James Stonehouse.

The impact of this was so intense that the seismograph at Kidderpore registered it as an earthquake and a Hindu temple on the shore was destroyed, although it was subsequently rebuilt. While muck was being cleared, numerous varieties of objects were brought up, including anchors, grappling irons, cannons, cannonballs, brass vessels, and coins dating back to the East India Company. The job of sinking the caissons was carried out round-the-clock at a rate of a foot or more per day. The caissons were sunk through soft river deposits to a stiff yellow clay 26.5 m below ground level. The accuracy of sinking the huge caissons was exceptionally precise, within 50–75 mm of the true position. After penetrating 2.1 m into clay, all shafts were plugged with concrete after individual dewatering, with some 5 m of backfilling in adjacent shafts.

Southern Portal Northbound Toll Gantry Southbound, Approaching southern portal and exit to Fortitude Valley On 17 June 2009, CNI requested that the Coordinator-General evaluate a proposed change to the Airport Link project under section 35C of the State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971. Due to the discovery during the first half of 2009 of less than favourable ground conditions in the vicinity of the Kedron ramps, BrisConnections proposed the establishment of a new worksite on vacant land at Rose Street, Wooloowin, between Kent and Park Roads to facilitate improved construction access to the mainline tunnels. A shaft 15 metres in diameter and 42 metres deep would be constructed to launch two of the project’s ‘roadheader’ excavation machines. It is anticipated that the worksite would be in use for up to 29 months, including backfilling and rehabilitation.

The company made significant contributions to the linear construction industry by inventing and patenting the Railplow, that is mounted on a flatbed railcar and used to rapidly excavate a trench alongside railroad tracks, install conduits used for housing fiber optic cables, then backfilling the trench and completing the construction and installation process within a very short span of time. This technology enabled 360networks to rapidly lay out a North American fiber optic network throughout Canada and the United States along and within numerous railroad rights of way. The patent for the Railplow was transferred to a subsidiary of the two companies and 360networks received a royalty-free, exclusive license for the use of the Railplow, giving it a significant advantage over some of its competitors that also utilized rail corridors. Initially, the company focused on building a fiber optic route from Seattle to Sacramento.

In October 2001 a resident of Ivatt Close, Bawtry, uncovered a coal tar pit, covered by wooden boards and a layer of soil, in his back garden. An investigation by Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council determined that the contamination also included nickel and affected parts of two adjacent streets, Stirling Avenue and Gresley Avenue. In total, 47 properties were found to be contaminated to some extent. The presence of a major aquifer beneath the site, its situation within a Groundwater Source Protection Zone and the potential for groundwater contamination, led to it being designated a 'special site' under the EPA in June 2003 and enforcement of the Act therefore passed from the local authority to the EA. The decontamination and remediation work was funded at public expense, and involved the identification and removal of further tar pits and contaminated soil to a depth of 0.6m, the installation of a separating membrane and backfilling and landscaping with replacement soil.

Attempts for voluntary accreditation to Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) have been started. The campus was able to house more classrooms, college library, college museum, audio visual room, information technology building equipped with radio and communication dish satellite, computers, prayer room, chemistry and laboratory room, refrigeration and air conditioning room, machine shop, medical and dental clinics. Construction of Automotive and Shop Building, phase 1 was completed in 1995, followed by the newly constructed Multi Purpose stage and landscaping of the campus contributed much in physical development. Likewise, sports and athletics facilities improved with the construction of volleyball, basketball and lawn tennis courts, and backfilling of almost one- hectare athletic and NROTC training field. College library has a total collection of 7,185 volumes of books. From May 16, 1997 to March 4, 1998, Dr. Lourdes G. Laniog assumed officer-in-charge of the college until her presidency from March 5, 1998 to May 31, 2002.
