Geartronic is offered on Volvo vehicles with engine displacements of 2.0 liters or greater. Geartronic transmissions are manufactured in Japan by Aisin AW. They require the use of automatic transmission fluid that meets the JWS 3309 specification. The MY2011 6 speed requires AW1.
The Beast (mk2) at Wings and Wheels in 2014. In the 1960s, Paul Jameson put a Rolls-Royce Meteor (often mistakenly described as a Merlin) engine into a chassis he built himself.Booij 2009, p. 82. He did not get around to building a body, and sold the car to Epsom automatic transmission specialist John Dodd, who had supplied the automatic gearbox.
Karosa ŠM 16,5 is completely different from its predecessor, Škoda 706 RTO-K, which had engine in front. ŠM 16,5 is model of Karosa Š series. It is derived from Karosa ŠM 11 city bus, and also unified with long-distance coach Karosa ŠD 11. Body is semi-self-supporting with frame and engine with automatic gearbox in the middle, between the wheels.
The Persona was rebadged and manufactured by the Chinese car manufacturer Europestar as the Youngman Lotus L3 in China. Production ran from 2009 to 2013. A 1.5 and 1.6 litre engine were available paired with a 5 speed manual and 4 speed automatic gearbox. On 12 July 2018, 13 units of Proton Persona CM were exported to Middle East countries, together with 440 units of Proton Gen2.
The Refine is available with a 2.0 litre turbo or 2.4 litre petrol engine and a 2.8 litre turbo diesel engine mated to a 5 speed manual or 4 speed automatic gearbox. 1.8 litre petrol and turbocharged diesel variants along with the 1.9 litre turbo diesel arrived in 2012, 2013 and 2015 respectively as well as a 6 speed manual gearbox for 1.8 and 1.9 litre diesel.
Two of them (fleet number AP144, AP159) are the world's first two transit buses to be equipped with six-speed automatic transmission. The transmission is a modified ZF Ecomat 6HP602C. They were the test buses of Eco- driveline (with large differential gear ratio, engine with high low-end torque and six-speed automatic gearbox). Withdrawal of the first batch of Neoplan Centroliners started in 2016.
In the Middle East, Taiwan, and China, the 2012 Ford Explorer is currently available in several trims, all of which have a 3.5-liter V6 engine and an automatic gearbox. Some GCC markets offer the front-wheel-drive version as a base model, while most of the trims have standard all-wheel-drive. The latest generation Explorer was made available in Japan the Fall of 2015.
The major mechanical change was the replacement of both the inline-six and V12 engines with new eight-cylinder AJ-V8 in either a displacement of 3.2 L or 4.0 L, with the 4.0 L also available in supercharged form in the XJR (A sport oriented model). This fifth-generation transmission was the first seven-speed automatic transmission ever used on a production passenger vehicle. In all applications this transmission is identified as the New Automatic Gearbox Generation Two, or NAG2. It initially debuted in Autumn 2003 on five different eight-cylinder models: the E500, S 430, S 500, CL 500, and SL 500\. It also soon became available on many six-cylinder models.

The price range of the Traum S70 at launch starts from 81,900 yuan and ends at 115,900 yuan. Two engines are available including a 1.5L turbo engine producing 156 hp, and a 1.6L engine producing 116 hp. Two gearboxes are also available including a 5 speed manual gearbox, and a 6 speed automatic gearbox. The Traum-branded vehicles are manufactured by Jiangnan Auto, a subsidiary of Zotye.
In August 1933 various improvements were announced for 1934 models. The gearbox gained synchromesh on 3rd and 4th gears and an alternative larger (2511 cc) 18 hp engine was made available at no extra charge. An early automatic gearbox was available between 1934 and 1936 but few sold. A longer wheelbase chassis became an option. Of this version 5742 16s and 2630 18s were made.
A special twin DOHC (QUAD CAM) version of the 2.9 was created by Cosworth Engineering in 1991. Although it shared the same block as the standard 2.9, power output was up to and torque was boosted to at 4500 rpm. This engine (code BOA) was used in the Ford Scorpio Cosworth 24V. This engine configuration was only paired with an improved A4LDe automatic gearbox with partial electronic shift control.
As with all models in the Arrow range, an automatic gearbox was an option. A closer ratio G-type gearbox was fitted to later Sceptres, using the J-type overdrive. An estate car variant of the Sceptre was introduced at the London Motor Show in October 1974. It featured a built-in roof rack and a carpeted loading floor protected by metal strips and illuminated by an additional interior light.
Karosa B 741 is a model of the Karosa 700 series. The B 741 is derived from the Karosa C 744 articulated intercity bus, and also unified with city bus models such as the B 731 and the B 732. It is made of two rigid sections linked by a pivoting joint. The body is semi-self-supporting with frame and engine with automatic gearbox in the rear part.
ActiveHybrid 5 The ActiveHybrid is a hybrid version of the 5 Series based on the 535i Sedan. It was previewed by the Concept 5 Series ActiveHybrid at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show and produced from 2011 to 2016. The production ActiveHybrid 5 features a synchronous electric motor integrated into the housing of the automatic gearbox. This is combined with the turbocharged 3.0 litre straight-six engine from the 535i.
The option of quattro permanent four-wheel drive was an option across the range, and the Audi 100 quattro was available with a ZF four-speed automatic gearbox. This generation was also available with a 2.5 litre, 5-cylinder TDi engine, which provided outstanding performance, economy and refinement. For the 1995 model year, in conjunction with some styling revisions, Audi dropped the Audi 100 tag, renaming it the A6 instead.
E 350e Plug-in Hybrid The E 350e is a plug-in hybrid, equipped with a turbocharged inline-four coupled with an electric motor between the engine. The E 350e's transmission is a nine-speed automatic gearbox. Mercedes claims that the car has a electric only range. The hybrid plug to charge the car is connected on rear bumper through a small door similar to how the gas door is setup.
A production run of 209 South African 745i was built from 1983 to 1987, 192 of which were with an automatic gearbox and 17 with a 5-speed manual gearbox. BMW South Africa entered one of these 745i models in Class A of the South African Modified Saloon Car Championship The 745i won the championship in 1985, the only BMW-Sanctioned motorsport application in the history of BMW 7 Series cars.
A cross version called the FAW Weizhi V2 Cross was launched in November 2011 featuring plastic claddings, rood rails and increased ground clearance. Price of the Weizhi V2 Cross starts at 43,900 yuan with the five- speed manual gearbox version and ends at 49,900 yuan for the 5-speed automatic gearbox version. Power of the Weizhi V2 Cross comes from a 1.3 liter engine producing 91hp and 120nm.
The Ambassador has been in production since 2001, and its exterior is largely unchanged; the interior, however, has undergone several changes, and the vehicle is assembled at low cost. The older series (built from 2001–2005) has an inferior suspension, which causes the bus to rattle. The Ambassador was originally equipped with a Voith automatic gearbox, which was noisy. Later versions are sturdier, and more-recent Voith gearboxes are quieter in use.
The 2010 Honda CR-V is nearly the same as the US model, but is provided with side-mirror turning signals. It is available in 4x4 (2.4 L) and 4x2 (2.0 L), the former having a five-speed automatic gearbox as standard. The top of the range 2.4 L 4x4 comes with leather upholstery and HID headlamps. All models have rear parking sensors as standard, but no sunroof or GPS fourth generation.
In 1968, Ford rebuilt a Mk IV Spyder chassis for Can-Am racing, and produced the G7A. Although the new car used the Mk IV's suspension and brakes, the new bodywork included a rear wing inspired by Jim Hall's Chaparral Can-Am cars. The car used a 2-speed automatic gearbox, and a torque converter from the Mercury and Ford funny cars. Coupled to this transmission was a Ford V8 engine, capable of producing around .
Most critics, however, were reconciled by the outstanding driving performance of the car. Bristol's long-serving 2.0 litre six-cylinder engine continued to be built for some time after the introduction of the 407. It was primarily supplied to AC Cars, where it was installed in the Ace, Aceca and Greyhound models until the end of 1962. The new V8 engine was mated to a TorqueFlite automatic gearbox as the only transmission option.
The generator had an internal two- speed automatic gearbox, which increased the charging rate when the engine was running at near-idling speed. However it soon became clear that this was insufficient to meet the demands of the new sets and higher output systems based on alternators were later introduced. Fitted For Radio versions of the Champ and Humber were soon developed. This new term also represented a re- definition of the old FFW.
Brilliance H3 rear The engine options for the Brilliance H3 includes a 1.5 liter engine producing 112 horsepower and a 1.5 liter turbo producing 150 horsepower and 220 N·m. The engines are mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed automatic gearbox. The 0-100km/h acceleration is 10.11 seconds as tested by Chinese automotive media, Autohome. Prices of the Brilliance H3 compact sedan ranges from 63,900 to 88,900 yuan.
The AIL M325 Command Cars replaced Dodge Power Wagons in the Israeli defence force in the mid-1970s. The Israeli Defence Forces have since replaced the M325 with a more modern version, the M462 ABIR. Boxier-looking, they are powered by a 6.2 liter V8 diesel and NP435 manual gearbox, or Turbo 400, or 450 automatic gearbox. This M462 is still built on what is basically a 1947 Dodge Power Wagon chassis.
The 830i was a prototype that did not reach production. As the potential entry-level model, the 830i was to use the 3-liter V8 with from the 530i and 730i, known internally as the M60B30. Eighteen cars were produced, thirteen of which had an automatic gearbox fitted. The model was dropped in favour of the 840Ci and almost all of the 18 cars were dismantled; one car is in a BMW museum.
2018 Maserati GranTurismo Sport Replacing both the GranTurismo S and S Automatic, the Granturismo Sport was unveiled in March 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show. The revised 4.7L engine is rated at . The Sport features a unique MC Stradale-inspired front fascia, new headlights and new, sportier steering wheel and seats. The ZF six-speed automatic gearbox is now standard, while the six-speed automated manual transaxle is available as an option.
A fan-belt driven high-pressure pump was added and an under- bonnet reservoir to hold the "LHS" hydraulic fluid. Many of the hydraulic parts were interchangeable with the early DS 19 models (which also had hydraulic disk brakes, hydraulically assisted steering and a hydraulically operated "semi-automatic" gearbox). These other hydraulic features were not fitted to the 15/6 H, which ceased production in 1956, one year after the arrival of the DS.
It had a 4.0 litre supercharged V8 engine with four valves per cylinder, developing and of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Mercedes five-speed automatic gearbox which has been modified to be controlled by buttons on the steering wheel. Seating capacity was two. It had a claimed top speed of , although this was never tested, and it could accelerate from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds.
According to pictures found on Chinese car website Autohome, the Jetta VA3 said to be powered by two engines, a 1.4 litre turbo and the 1.5 litre naturally aspirated EA211 four cylinder engine. The VA3 was officially listed in September 2019 and the EA211 is available paired to a 5 speed manual and 6 speed automatic gearbox. Pricing ranges between 65,800 and 92,800 yuan with 4 trim levels (9,310 and US$13,130).
A 4-speed Jatco automatic gearbox is available since 2016. As for sedan transmission, Datsun decided not to reinvent the wheel, but to take the ready five-speed manual VAZ. The manufacturer claims that for the front-wheel drive car Datsun on-DO, the domestic box was slightly upgraded to reduce vibration and noise. The gear ratio of the main pair of the Datsun mechanical box is 3.7, as is the case with Granta.
All features were standard, the provision of alternatives being believed to lead to an unsatisfactory compromise. 902 saloons were produced, as well as 77 long-wheelbase cars, 73 of which were built as limousines (including 2 prototypes). The limousine version was made in 1960 only and had a single-carburettor engine and manual gearbox (the automatic gearbox was fitted to 12 examples). The remaining 4 chassis were used for 3 hearses and an ambulance.
The Yema T70 is the first all-new Yema passenger vehicle since 2008, built on a brand new platform with brand new engine options. The Yema T70 is available with two four-cylinder petrol engine options including a 131hp 1.8 liter engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, and a 170hp 1.8 liter turbo engine mated to a CVT, with a 6-speed automatic gearbox added to the line-up at a later time.
In the case of the Jimny, the JLX adds roof rails, power steering, power windows, power-adjustable exterior mirrors, and several interior comfort improvements. Both models are available with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic gearbox. The 2WD option is only available as a five-speed manual. Suzuki Jimny Sierra In 2009, Santana Motor of Spain ended its agreement with Suzuki to make the Canvas Top version, which has not been available since then.
The third generation Korando was initially released with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed M11 automatic transmission and is in production from May 2011 to 2015. Since 2015, SsangYong replaced Korando's automatic gearbox to Aisin 6-speed transmission. It is also to be offered as a front-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive from launch. Its combined fuel consumption is 5.5 L/100 km and acceleration from 0–100 km takes less than 10 seconds.
For Malaysia, Hyundai launched the i40 at the 2013 Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show, in both sedan and tourer specifications. It is placed above the Hyundai Sonata. The engine is the two litre GDI motor which is linked to a paddle shifted six speed automatic gearbox. Due to slowing sales of mid-sized cars worldwide, the i40 was discontinued in markets such as Australia and New Zealand in early 2019, leaving the Sonata to cater for the segment.
One mile of track was installed on the property, providing access to a train that runs the exhibition from one extreme to another. The rolling stock in use on the line is a railbus manufactured by the Argentine company TecnoTren. It has the same body of a bus, is lightweight, requires special way, and uses an automatic gearbox and diesel engine. Currently, this model is used in various parts of the country as a regular service.
The pre-production models lacked the automatic gearbox, and the engine was the same ZMZ-4062.10 that went into GAZ-3110. First shown in 1998, production was scheduled to begin in 2000 with 53 cars delivered. GAZ thought of the -3111 as a replacement for the -3102 and envisioned a rate of 25 thousand per annum. But only 342 were delivered in 2001, and 20 in 2002, with further nine of 2004 before all production ceased.
Hawtai Shengdafei II rear quarter view The second generation Hawtai Shengdafei debuted during the 2014 Beijing Auto Show. Previously known as the Hawtai A25, the Hawtai Shengdafei was positioned under the Hawtai Baolige. The second generation Hawtai Shengdafei was powered by a 1.5 liter turbocharged four- cylinder petrol engine producing 135 hp and 200 nm of torque and a 2.0 liter turbo-diesel engine. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4-speed automatic gearbox.
Launched in October 1982, the Excel received two major upgrades during its 10-year production run. With the introduction of the Excel SE in October 1985, the bumpers, wing and interior were changed, including a new dashboard. In October 1986 the Excel SA with an automatic gearbox was introduced. Further facelifts in 1989 saw Citroën CX- derived mirrors, as also featured on the Esprit, and 15 inch OZ alloy wheels to a similar pattern as the Esprit's.
Based on the single car railbus prototypes, the class 140 was built to BR's then stringent regulations regarding crashworthiness and resistance to end loading in 1980. This meant that it lost its lightweight 'bus on a wagon' look and was much more substantial. The original traction power train consisted of a Leyland TL11 200 HP engine, a Self-Changing Gears mechanical automatic gearbox and a Gmeinder final drive unit on each car driving only one axle.
Audi also debuted their new tiptronic automatic transmission on the B5 platform, based on the unit Porsche developed for their 964-generation 911. The transmission is a conventional automatic gearbox with a torque converter offering the driver a fully-automatic operation or manual selection of the gear ratios. The B5 marked Audi's continued move into the midsize luxury car segment, having started this trajectory notably with later model years of the preceding Audi 80/90 B4.
It comprises inter alia with a 6-speed Eaton automatic gearbox and one electric motor with maximum power of 44 kW (60 hp). In normal traffic movement the power is on about 28 kW (38 hp). It operates with a Cummins ISB6.7EV 225B diesel engine, meeting the requirements of the EEV standard, with a maximum power of 165 kW (225 hp) and the volume of 6.7 dm. The Eaton gearbox transmits power to the rear axle.
With an unladen weight of 10.9-tonnes and up to 4.1-tonnes of military payload the Survivor R offers a respectable payload-to-weight ratio. This combination of protection, workspace and payload makes Survivor R well suited to requirements involving complex systems integrations. Survivor R is air transportable by C-130 Hercules transport aircraft. Optional equipment includes a central tyre inflation system, a fully automatic gearbox, a 10-tonne hydraulic self-recovery winch and a dozer blade.
At the start, Nicola Larini was disqualified for an illegal start. Mansell became the first man since Mario Andretti in 1971 to win on his Formula One debut for Ferrari, a feat that was not matched until Kimi Räikkönen won for Ferrari at the 2007 Australian Grand Prix. It was also the first race ever to be won by a car with a semi-automatic gearbox. Mansell cut his hands on the trophy following the race.
Their view was favourable with regard to the overall performance of the vehicle, although the natural turbine lag of the engine did hurt the overall impression of the review. The CVT automatic gearbox did however endear the vehicle to testers - this gearbox has now become the cornerstone of Toyota automatic gearboxes, and the basis of the Toyota Prius gearbox. The GTV was also reviewed by Popular Science magazine. The GTV used the Gas Turbine II engine.
The Times, Saturday, Jul 26, 1958; pg. 10; Issue 54213 The new body was again fitted to an Austin chassis but now the chassis was equipped with independent front suspension and a Borg-Warner automatic gearbox. The power unit remained the previous BMC 2.2-litre diesel engine. At the opening of the Commercial Motor Show in September 1958 Austin announced that an order had been received from Mann & Overton for 2,000 of the new design fitted with automatic transmission.
Robinson, p. 40 The NB of November 1984 included a revised grille, deleted the LWB three-door body style and the diesel engine for the remaining SWB three-door. Mitsubishi Australia released the NC series in November 1985, introducing optional power steering, while the long-wheelbase five-door switched to a low- roofed design. A KM148 automatic gearbox became optional on the petrol Superwagon for the October 1986 ND update, while the 2.5-litre turbo diesel replaced the old 2.3-litre unit.
The Duster is adapted to the Russian consumers expectations with for example the Renault Start innovative system of remote engine start, useful during the cold days to heat the car's body and engine, which decreases polluting emissions. In June 2015, a renewed version of the Duster was launched in Russia with a new range of more powerful and low-consumption engines, an automatic gearbox, some new options, new interior ergonomics and materials of interior trim, and a new exterior design.
1975 Humber Sceptre The Humber Sceptre traded on Humber's tradition of building luxury cars and was the best-appointed version. It was marketed as a Sunbeam Sceptre in some markets. The manual-gearbox model featured either the D-type or the later J-type Laycock De Normanville overdrive, with the J-type fitted from chassis numbers L3 onwards starting in July 1972.Chrysler UK Hunter Range (1972 onwards) parts list number 76601711 As with all Arrows, an automatic gearbox was an option.
Designed by former Mercedes-Benz designer Fan Zhang, it debuted at the 2016 Beijing Auto Show as Trumpchi's largest vehicle in its product lineup and later at the Detroit Auto Show. The Trumpchi GS8 is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 188hp 201hp and 300nm, with a six- speed automatic gearbox sending power to all four wheels. The full designation of the GS8 is Trumpchi GS8 320T. Pricing starts at 163,800 yuan and ends at 259,800 yuan ($24,200 – 38,000).
Some of 1750A Berlina didn't have the model plate with production date embossed. The automatic gearbox wasn't well-suited to the four-cylinder motor due to baulky shifting and ill-chosen gear ratio. Because of this, its fuel consumption was frighteningly high and acceleration was a bit too slow. During 1971 the 1750 series was superseded across the Alfa Romeo range by the 2000 series; at the top of the saloon line, the 1750 Berlina gave way to the 2000 Berlina.
The A2 was produced at Audi's "aluminium" Neckarsulm plant in Germany on a special line purpose-built for it. It was the first five-door vehicle on sale in Europe with an average fuel consumption less than , although these figures only applied to the special "3L" version with a diesel engine, automatic gearbox, stop-start system, less power and narrower tyres. Due to its construction, the average A2 weighs 830 kg. The last A2s to be produced were built in August 2005.
Most cars sold in North America since the 1950s have been available with an automatic transmission, based on the fact that the three major American car manufacturers had started using automatics. Conversely, in Europe a manual gearbox is standard, with only 20% of drivers opting for an automatic gearbox compared to the United States. In some Asian markets and in Australia, automatic transmissions have become very popular since the 1980s. Vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions are not as complex to drive.
The petrol engines had a combined consumption of and respectively, while the diesel used . An automatic gearbox (with torque converter) was optional for the petrol units. In some countries, it was sold with a 1.2-litre engine, also used on the newer Hyundai i10. To increase its appeal in the European market, the Picanto was equipped with such features as CD player with MP3 audio playback, air conditioning, front and patented rear electric windows, remote central locking, and electric mirrors.
Other interior updates are new upholstery and different colour trim options. The engine range has also been updated with revised fuel injection and engine management to improve fuel economy as well as a five-speed automatic gearbox to replace the older four-speed one. Safety and driver assist technology has been updated with features such as lane-keeping aid and emergency stop signal, the latter of which automatically turn on the car’s hazard lights in a event of sudden braking.
A 3.0-litre V6 engine was also offered, (neither the V6 petrol nor diesel engines were available in US markets). A new six-speed automatic gearbox was fitted which was lighter and offered better economy with lock-up on all gears and a larger spread of ratios. Air suspension was fitted at the front and rear, providing adaptive damping as well as rear self leveling-- with computer-controlled ride height and suspension mode. Dynamic stability control as well as traction control were standard.
This is housed in an engine compartment at the rear left of the hull and coupled to a fully automatic RENK HSU 106 automatic gearbox with six forward and two reverse gear ratios. The gearbox can be operated manually and has a mechanical emergency gearshift. Drive is transmitted to the Ratel's three axles in two stages, with final reduction being achieved by epicyclic gearing in the wheel hubs. The three axles have their own locking differentials and longitudinal differential locks.
Lastly, in July 2013, Jazz was sold in Malaysia as a locally assembled model. Thus far, second generation Jazz's had been fully imported from Thailand. Only one variant was available though dubbed Grade S. It comes in a blue-black fabric upholstery for the interior, 4-speakers, a CD/MP3/WMA player with USB and AUX jack, immobiliser and 4 corner reverse sensors. All second generation Jazz sold in Malaysia came with a 1.5 L i-VTEC engine with an automatic gearbox.
The Dennis Jubilant was a front engined double decker bus chassis manufactured by Dennis between 1977 and 1981. It was specifically designed for contemporary operating environment (hilly roads and "one-man-operation" with a farebox) in Hong Kong. The chassis design featured a set-back front axle, which enabled the front door to be located in front of the front axle, and a strengthened chassis frame. It could be fitted with Gardner 6LXB engine and Voith DIWA 851 automatic gearbox.
A Sportwagon variant was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2006. An automatic gearbox option for the 2.4 JTDM diesel model was also launched that year and later extended to other versions. In 2007, a four-wheel-drive diesel model was introduced, and the 2.4-litre diesel engines' power output was increased to , with a newly reintroduced TI trim level also available as an option. For the 2008 model year, the mechanics and interiors of the 159 were further developed.
For Frenchman Alain Prost was signed in an effective swap, sending Ferrari favourite Gerhard Berger to McLaren. Despite his friendship and good past working relationship with Prost at McLaren, Barnard opted to leave the Maranello based team and join Benetton. Seeking a new challenge, and relishing working again for a team based in England, he would be free from the Italian press, where the numerous failures during testing of the semi-automatic gearbox in 1988 had often made headlines, despite being minor.
During the initial release, available engines for the Citroën C3–XR are a 117 hp 1.6 liter engine and a 167 hp 1.6 liter turbo engine. An additional engine option was added for the Citroen C3–XR in 2016. The added engine was a 1.2 litre turbocharged four cylinder petrol engine with an output of 136 hp and 230 nm, and was mated to a six speed automatic gearbox. The updated model was released to the car market in China in March 2016.
There was only one trim level, the Ghia, with manual or automatic gearbox. ;Mexico In Mexico, the model was similar to the European version to replace the Ford Contour. Trim levels were Core, Edge, Ghia and 100 units of the ST220 (sold as a limited edition), it was sold only with the 2.0 4-cylinder, 2.5 V6 and 3.0 V6 (for the ST220) petrol: no turbodiesel or estate versions were available in Mexico. Its nearest rival were the Chevrolet Vectra and Volkswagen Passat.
Rely X5 rear Prices of the Rely X5 at launch was 159,800 yuan with the price adjusted later to range from 109,800 yuan to 141,800 yuan. The original Rely X5 was revealed with only a 2.0L engine mated to a manual transmission available. However, a 2.0L turbo engine with a 4-speed automatic gearbox was added later in 2011. A facelift was also planned and details were released in 2011 but the facelift never happened, and the car was soon discontinued.
YD25DDTi (VP44) This engine features the VP44 rotary injection pump and is turbocharged and intercooled. In the Presage/Bassara it is fitted sideways with a variable vane turbocharger (Garrett GT1749V) and torque is limited to approximately accommodate the 4 speed automatic gearbox attached. In the D22 Navara/Kingcab/Frontier the engine is essentially the same other than modifications to accessories, mounts and plumbing to accommodate the longitudinal engine layout. The turbo is a wastegated IHI RHF4 which is also intercooled.
The 2016 Opel GT concept debuted on 27 January 2016. Built on an all-new compact rear-wheel-drive platform, the GT has a lightweight construction and stripped down interior. Power comes from a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine producing 145 hp with a 6-speed semi-automatic gearbox. The concept features historic design cues associated with Opel's past products; the twin tailpipes with the GT wordmark in the middle are reminiscent of those on the original 1965 GT prototype.
The engine is a 3L V6 Ford with a BorgWarner automatic gearbox. The vehicle currently resides at the Dundee Museum of Transport. Another Chitty 'copy' was built by Nick Pointing of the Isle of Wight after his wife Carolyn, a lifelong Chitty Chitty Bang Bang fan asked him to build her dream car. The car was built on a 1970s Land Rover chassis and engine and was driven 12,000 miles overland to Australia in 2007/8 to raise money for charity.
The Aoosed G5 is powered by a Mistsubishi-sourced 2.4 liter engine with a torque as high as 196Nm. The Gonow Aoosed G5 adopts a Hyundai 5-speed automatic gearbox, and can shift between 4WD mode and 2WD mode depending on the terrain. The price of the Aoosed G5 ranges from 86,800 yuan to 148,800 yuan. The updated Aoosed GX5 features slightly restyled front and rear bumpers and a new optional 2.0 liter engine and a 2.5 liter diesel engine.
The real purpose of this car was to test several improvements originating from Kar Kraft, Shelby, and McLaren. Several gearboxes were used: a Hewland LG500 and at least one automatic gearbox. It was later upgraded to Mk.II specifications with a 7.0-liter (427 ci) engine and a standard four ratio Kar Kraft (subsidiary of Ford) gearbox, however, the car kept specific features such as its open roof and lightweight aluminum chassis. Because of the components required, the machine was also very expensive. For instance, the Bendix Home Laundry Service Manual (published November 1, 1946) shows that the drum speed change was facilitated by a 2-speed gearbox built to a heavy duty standard (not unlike a car automatic gearbox, albeit at a smaller size). The timer was also probably fairly costly, because miniature electric motors were expensive to produce. The Korando was launched in South Korea on February 26, and debuted to the global market in Geneva Motor Show 2019. And it is equipped with 6-speed manual transmission or 6-speed AISIN automatic gearbox.

The fuel cell electric vehicle Roewe 950 fuel cell sedan with a range of 400 km went on display at the 2014 Beijing show, the powertrain consists of a battery and hydrogen fuel cell and can start at temperatures of –20℃ below zero.Roewe 950 fuel cell sedan The 1.4 litre petrol engine is rated at 152 horsepower along with a 76 horsepower electric motor, bringing total horsepower output to 228 horsepower. It also carries a two speed automatic gearbox. Production commenced in April 2016.

The four-wheel drive, four-wheel steering, traction control system and suspension were all similarly adapted based on the same sensor data.
Hyundai launched the all-new Verna in India on 22 August 2017. The Verna comes with 3 engine choices, including a 1.6 L petrol and a 1.6 L diesel along with a 1.4 L base diesel engine. The new Verna carries forward the four-cylinder 1.6 L petrol and diesel engines from the old model, though, they have been suitably tweaked for use here and also see revisions in their power and torque outputs. It is offered with 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Pricing ranges between and ( to at 2019 exchange rates) with 4 trim levels known as Classic, Fashion, Elite and Exclusive with the automatic gearbox only available on the Exclusive model. The first generation F3 made a return for the 2020 model year with the only one trim level available known as the Classic version. The same 1.5 litre engine is standard known as the BYD473QF and is paired to a 5 speed manual gearbox and is priced at 44,900 yuan (6,360 USD - May 2020 exchange rate).
This version could reach when fitted with the manual transmission. The Tivoli was in testing and development for the three years prior to its announcement in November 2014 and was revealed in concept with the project name X100. It was launched in South Korea in January 2015. The Tivoli is offered with a choice of petrol or diesel 1.6-liter engines and is available in two or four-wheel drive. It is equipped with a six-speed manual or AISIN automatic gearbox, which SsangYong claims is as quick and efficient as a dual- clutch setup.
The car's 3-phase AC induction electric motor produced 137 brake horsepower (102 kW) at 7000 rpm. Like electric trains and all vehicles with an electric motor (and unlike a car powered by an internal combustion engine), the EV1 could deliver its full torque capacity throughout its power band, producing 110 pound-feet (149 newton-meters) of torque anywhere between 0 and 7000 rpm, allowing the omission of a manual or automatic gearbox. Power was delivered to the front wheels through a single-speed reduction integrated transmission.
With the new engine, and in simplified trim, the new car was re- christened as GAZ-3102. Still hoping to introduce the V6 powerplant at a later date, the GAZ-3101 designation was retained for it (and will used for the V8 "Chaser" models). Power steering and automatic gearbox were also removed from the make-up. The "new" Volga was re-submitted to Moscow for the go-ahead to production in early 1980 and was showcased at the Moscow Olympics to the wider public.
The Berlingo électrique is equipped with direct drive transmission. The vehicle is often mistakenly described as having an "automatic" gearbox whereas in reality the very wide power range of the electric motor when compared with the very narrow power band of an Internal Combustion Engine means that more than one gear is unnecessary. The Berlingo électrique has in effect only one forward gear which serves from 0- . The 'gear' stick looks similar to an automatic one but is limited to Drive, Neutral, Reverse and Park.
All variants are powered by the same 1.8-litre turbocharged gasoline direct injection (TGDI) engine with the Geely Boyue, producing and paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Local assembly of the X70 in Proton's Tanjung Malim plant commenced on 13 December 2019. In February 2020, the locally assembled (CKD) version was launched with lowered pricing and a few major mechanical updates. The gearbox is now a 7-speed wet DCT, and the same 1.8-litre TGDI engine has its torque increased by (to ).
Both normally aspirated and turbocharged versions were made. All models were initially 1.6-litre but the normally aspirated model was later changed to a 1.8-litre engine at the same time as the original 4x2 'Supershift' manual transmission was changed to a conventional five-speed gearbox. Normally aspirated models were also offered with a conventional three-speed automatic gearbox. In 1985 Todd's added an additional automatic-only 1.8SE trim version with two-tone paint, power windows and locks and four-speaker factory-fit audio system.
The Mercedes-Benz Econic is a low-entry truck introduced by Mercedes-Benz from 1998 to present. It is normally used for waste collection, fire and emergency purposes and airport ground services. It is available in weights of 18 t and 26 t and is powered by a 6-cylinder inline engine with turbo and intercooler. The production version of the Weizhi V2 debuted during the 2010 Chengdu Auto Show on September 17, 2010, and was produced by the Tianjin-FAW factory in Tianjin. The engine of the Weizhi V2 is a 1.3 liter producing 91hp mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox or 5-speed manual gearbox. Prices of the Weizhi V2 starts from 47,900 yuan to 53,900 yuan.
Cars destined for export were increasingly switched towards other markets in Europe and elsewhere, and US exports stopped after only two years: instead the company progressed with plans to build car plants in the USA. 1975 Toyota Carina 2000GT hardtop coupe (RA17) The original model usually featured a choice of a 1407 cc OHV (T) or 1588 cc OHV (2T) engine, choice of a four-speed manual gearbox, two-speed automatic gearbox or three-speed automatic gearbox and front-wheel disc brakes (drum brakes on the lowest model). It was revised in 1972 with a restyled body, new rear light cluster, filler cap repositioned in the rear quarter panel, restyled front grille and fascia. Related Volkswagen Group models include the Škoda Fabia, SEAT Ibiza and Audi A1. This car is made based under A05 (PQ25) Platform. PQ25 is a development of the PQ24 platform with the possibility of all-wheel drive (not included on any version), informally known as A05 . The extra wheelbase offers more rear legroom than the hatchback, 50mm additional wheelbase and 500-liters of boot space, which has been well received. VW offers a choice of three engine options in India and Mexico; a 1.6 litre MPI petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a 1.5 litre TDI high torque diesel engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed automatic gearbox in the Indian market. There is also a 1.2 litre TSI engine available with a seven- speed DSG automatic gearbox only. The car in India is available in four trim levels: the Trendline, Comfortline, Highline and Highline Plus, with the Highline and Highline Plus also having an automatic option.
Although it bears the name of K Series, the engine has almost no components in common with the 4-cylinder version. In its Rover setup, the unit delivers peak engine power of at 6,500 rpm, and maximum torque of at 4000 rpm. The automatic gearbox in V6 800s is also able to communicate with the engine, briefly easing torque to allow smoother changes. One of the most immediately noticeable features of the first V form engine to be designed by Rover for decades is its distinctive, quietly growling engine note.

The first known Jetta in China was the A2 model that was used as a passenger car and a taxicab. The A2 was then given a facelift in April 1997 where it was known as the Jetta King. Available engines were a 1.6 litre petrol engine called the EA113 for civilian cars and a 1.9 litre diesel engine only available for taxi models. A 4-speed manual gearbox was standard, which could be replaced by a 5-speed manual gearbox, and then a 4-speed automatic gearbox was made available from November 1998.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom V is a large four-door limousine produced by Rolls- Royce Limited from 1959 to 1968. Based on the Silver Cloud II, it shared a V8 engine and General Motors Hydra-Matic automatic gearbox with that model. Rolls-Royce assembled the cars' chassis and drivetrains with bodies made to standard designs by coachbuilders Park Ward, and James Young, former vendors absorbed by Rolls-Royce. The engine was a 6,230 cc 90-degree V8 with twin SU carburetors, coupled to a 4-speed automatic transmission.
In a 1979 upgrade the engine capacity was increased to , a 3-speed automatic gearbox with torque converter was substituted, and separate front and rear air conditioning units were provided. Inclusion of the engine from the Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit in 1982 increased engine displacement once more, to 6,750 cc. In 1990, the last Rolls-Royce Phantom VI chassis were built. However, as the completion of the coachwork by Mulliner Park Ward took around 18 months, the last cars were made in the period of the next two years.
The XF was launched with only an automatic gearbox, and all models initially used the six-speed ZF 6HP26 automatic transmission. For model years 2010–2012, some engines (the 3.0 l diesel and 5.0 l supercharged petrol) used the second generation six-speed ZF 6HP28 transmission. During 2012–2013, 8-speed ZF 8HP70 transmissions replaced the 6-speed transmissions for all engines. The gears can either be selected using a rotary dial that rises from the centre console on start-up or can be manually controlled using paddles behind the steering wheel.
Huanghai N2 rear The Huanghai N2 pickup truck debuted on the Chinese car market in 2015. The Huanghai N2 is available with four engines including a 2.4 liter four-cylinder petrol engine, a 2.4 liter four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, a 2.5 liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine, and a 2.8 liter turbocharged four- cylinder diesel engine. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox, a 6-speed manual gearbox, and a 5-speed automatic gearbox. Prices of the Huanghai N2 ranges from 92,800 yuan to 187,800 yuan.
The T60 range consists of single cab, extended cab, double cab and extended double cab, combined with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel-drive, and is powered by turbocharged gasoline or turbocharged direct injection (TDI) diesel engines. The T60 includes a BorgWarner part-time transfer case, in conjunction with an Eaton automatic differential lock matched with a Shanghai GKN driveshaft. The automatic gearbox is built under licence from Punch Powertrain while the 6-speed manual transmission is built by Hyundai DYMOS (Now Hyundai TRANSYS). The T60 has a Bosch 9.1 electronic stability control system.
The base version, that was to have an automatic gearbox and the engine was simply designated GAZ-M-21, without any suffixes. A taxicab version was called GAZ-M-21A, and featured the manual gearbox, but the identical ZMZ-21 engine. The "transitional" series was GAZ-M-21B for the taxi with the engine (this was produced until late 1958, as most of the taxi parks used the Pobeda, and a common engine eased servicing). GAZ-M-21V was the next standard version (and proved the most common) with the engine and manual transmission.
On 6 August 2019, an updated Proton Saga was launched at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It's considered as minor change internally but as a facelift to the general public. The car now includes design cues from the Proton X70, Proton Iriz and the Proton Persona which includes the new "infinite weave," a pattern inspired by batik and Malaysian wood carvings. The naturally aspirated DOHC VVT engine is no longer paired to a CVT made by Punch Powertrain, but a four-speed torque converter automatic gearbox sourced from Hyundai.
The design for the front bumper was also kept distinct for the two models. The front signal lamps are designed differently: while both use LED signal lamps, the Cayman's are arranged like the face of dice while the Boxster has a horizontal row of 4 LEDs. The Porsche Tiptronic S automatic gearbox was replaced by the 7-speed PDK dual clutch transmission for the new model. The PDK outperforms the manual transmission with a 0-97 km/h time of 5.1 seconds versus 5.2 seconds for the manual.
The four-speed gearbox was an uprated version of the one used in the MGA with an optional (electrically activated) overdrive transmission. Wheel diameter dropped from 15 to . In late 1967, sufficient changes were introduced for the factory to define a Mark II model for the 1968 model year. Changes included synchromesh on all four gears with revised ratios, an optional Borg-Warner 35 automatic gearbox (except in the US), a new rear axle, and an alternator in place of the dynamo with a change to a negative earth system.
Peugeot has equipped the 508 for the market in Europe with its HDI common rail diesel engines. The 1.6 litre HDI 112 can be fitted with the e HDI 'micro hybrid' system, including an electronically controlled automatic gearbox, which reduces fuel consumption to with CO2 emissions of 109 g/km. Though this matches the Volkswagen Passat Bluemotion, it features a slightly larger fuel tank which allows it to cover a slightly longer range of 1637 kilometres (1017 miles). At least two e HDI engines were available from 2011 to 2012.
Some of the more common Urutu variants replaced the Browning heavy machine gun with a single turret or pintle-mounted 7.62mm general- purpose machine gun. Depending on the size of the turret ring, it was also possible to fit heavier turrets carrying gun-mortars or low-pressure cannon for direct fire support. Transmission consists of an Allison MT-643 automatic gearbox with five forward and one reverse gear ratios. Early Brazilian Army Urutus used either a Clark manually operated gearbox with the same gear pattern or a manual Mercedes-Benz 63/40 gearbox.
The fourteenth generation Crown was launched on 25 December 2012 with new styling, with the Royal series front styling theme paying homage to the fifth generation MS105 series. Most aspects of the car can be controlled by Toyota Multi-Operation Touch panel. The S210 Crown was launched in China in March 2015. Pricing currently ranges between 250,800 and 332,800 yuan (US$36,830–48,860) with four trim levels known as: Pioneer, Fashion, Sports and Elite. The Crown currently uses the 2 litre 8AR-FTS turbocharged four cylinder engine paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The Chevrolet Monza was revived for the Chinese market and was launched in March 2019 in Wuhan. Available as a four-door sedan, it is available in two trim levels known as 320T and 330T and five models. The 320T is available with a 1-litre turbocharged three cylinder engine while the 330T gets a 1.3 litre turbocharged three cylinder engine as standard. 1 litre models gain access to a 6 speed manual and 6 speed dual clutch gearbox while 1.3 litre models are only available with a 6 speed automatic gearbox.
By lap 22, Patrese was close enough to attack his Williams team-mate but overshot onto the escape road, as Mansell swerved to avoid him. Upon rejoining, Patrese quickly latched onto Alesi and Berger, as the new three-car train now covered fourth through sixth places. Patrese had gotten past Berger when, suddenly, two of the top six runners retired on consecutive laps. On lap 35, Mansell pulled over when the Williams's new semi-automatic gearbox failed, and on the next time around, Berger's race ended as well.
In 1989 Barnard pioneered the electronic gear shift mechanism – now known as a semi-automatic gearbox – which was operated via two paddles on the steering wheel. This revolutionary system had proved fragile in testing since early in 1988 and many in F1 were expecting it to fail. However, new team recruit Nigel Mansell took the new V12 powered Ferrari 640 to victory first time out at the Brazilian Grand Prix in Rio de Janeiro. Barnard had instigated his second technical revolution, and by every team was running a copy of the Ferrari gearbox.
A private tuning and racing firm, Picchio S.p.a. , created a limited production race prepared Alfa Romeo 4C. The Alfa Romeo 4C Picchio is powered by a new 4-cylinder turbo 1750 cc engine with 600 horsepower (CV) and equipped with a Hewland sequential semi automatic gearbox operated with steering wheel controls and suspension redesigned for use with Pirelli PZero 13 inch tires. The car is fully race prepared with FIA certificate and contains the mandatory roll cage, cut-off switches, and with all interior removed except for a new bucket seat and race harness.
The Range Rover used permanent four-wheel drive, rather than the switchable rear-wheel/four-wheel drive on Land Rover Series vehicles, and had a lever for switching ratios on the transfer box for off-road use. Originally, the only gearbox available was a four-speed manual unit, until Fairey overdrive became an option after 1977. A three-speed Chrysler TorqueFlite automatic gearbox became an option in October 1982, after years of demands from buyers. This was upgraded to a 4-speed ZF box in 1985, coupled to an LT230 transfer box.
This vehicle was among the very last SD's built. After service with Omagh District Council it was sold at auction in September 1988 and eventually acquired by James McAleer of Fintona, Co. Tyrone who converted it to a recovery vehicle for commercial vehicles. This included removing the rear bogie, the automatic gearbox was replaced by a manual box and a new rear axle was fitted. After many years the vehicle was bought by Peter Johnston in July 2010 and fitted with a beavertail body so that it can be used to transport preserved vehicles.
Pak Suzuki launched the second generation of Swift in 2010 when this generation was being globally retired. Pakistan is the only country where the second generation of Suzuki Swift continues to be assembled; elsewhere the Swift is currently in its fourth generation. The Swift is available in two variants: the DLX (with alloy rims, fog lamps, matching side view mirrors, and navigation system), and the Automatic (with all the features and options of the DLX, however with an automatic gearbox). Until it was cancelled in 2017, there was also a base DX model available.
Honda introduced the 2015 model in the first quarter of 2015. Three engines are available: 1.6 i-DTEC (diesel) producing either 120 PS (88kW) power and 300 Nm torque (2WD) or 160 PS (116kW) power and 350 Nm torque (4WD) (replacing the N22B 2.2 i-DTEC unit paired with the 5-speed automatic gearbox and 150 PS, that was used between 2012 and 2015); and 2.0 i-VTEC (petrol) producing 155 PS (114kW) power and 192 Nm torque (both 2WD and 4WD). Three gearboxes are available: 6-speed manual (petrol and diesel), 5-speed automatic (petrol) and 9-speed automatic (diesel).
The PL-01 would be equipped with a + diesel engine coupled to a torque converter, automatic gearbox and driving assistance mechanism. The suspension is based on seven wheels, with the drive shafts having active damping of torsion bars mounted on the first and last two pairs. This was equipped with a Rolls-Royce 350 engine, ZF automatic gearbox and Kirkstall axles. However, shortly after winning the contract to supply 1,522 such vehicles, Leyland group was bought by DAF of the Netherlands. DAF elected to build the S26 DROPS at the Leyland plant in Lancashire, and to close the Watford factory.
GAC launched the GS4 factlift version in June 2018, compared to the pre-facelift version, the facelift version sports restyled bumpers, a set of redesigned rims in the same style as the GS3, and a new dashboard. Two months later, GAC launched the "Millionth Edition", the Millionth Edition GS4 features a panoramic sunroof and LED headlights. In July 2019, the updated GS4 fitting the new Chinese emission standard was launched, the updated version only uses a new turbocharged direct injection engine called 4A15J1(169 hp,265Nm) mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox or 6 speed automatic gearbox (Aisin AWF6F25).
GKN Centrax Gears v. Matbro Accessdate=2008-09-05 This model with pivot steering and equal sized wheels was the basis of the first radial arm machines, the RAM40 with 40 cwt (2 imperial tons) lift capacity, produced c.1980. This was soon improved with a telescopic boom, producing the Teleram 40. These compact machines with the operator sitting above the automatic gearbox and just in front of the engine proved popular with farmers for their ability to go almost anywhere and do a wide range of jobs, while being able to manoeuvre in confined spaces.

One hundred RMs were also re-engined. Post-privatisation, in 1996, London Central's RMs on route 36, Stagecoach London's RMLs for routes 8 and 15, and Arriva London's RMs for route 159 received new Scania engines and a number of subtle reworks including hopper style windows. In 2001/02, under new Mayor of London Ken Livingstone, Transport for London purchased 50 RMs from a variety of sources, including Reading Mainline and two from Italy. Of these, 43 were refurbished by Marshall Bus between May 2001 and August 2002, receiving Cummins engines coupled to an Allison automatic gearbox.
Hongqi HS7 rear quarter The Hongqi HS7 is powered by a 3.0 liter supercharged engine producing 337 horsepower and 445 N.m, mated to a Aisin 8-speed automatic gearbox. The 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration time is 7.8 seconds. For the 2021 model year, a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine producing 252 horsepower and 380 N.m, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox is added to the product line. All 3.0 liter models coming standard with full-time four-wheel drive system while all 2.0 liter models coming standard with rear-wheel drive system.
Daimler Double Six (XJ81) Given the model code XJ81, the XJ40-based XJ12 and Daimler Double Six were introduced at the Amsterdam Auto Show in February 1993 and powered by a 6.0-litre version of Jaguar's V12 engine. This was mated to a GM 4L80E 4-speed automatic gearbox. It could be identified by the XJ12 or Double Six badge on the rear and a V12 emblem on the glovebox. The XJ12 used the two twin-headlamp pairs, black radiator grille vanes, and a gold "growler" badge on the radiator grille top, while the Daimler received the rectangular headlamps.
The Camry is sold in two variants—the 200 and 240. The 200 variant is mated to the 2.0-litre 1AZ-FE while 240 variant gets the 2.4-litre 2AZ-FE. The range consisted of the 200E, 200GVP, 200G, 240GVP, 200GN, 240G, 200GGB, 240GN, 240V, 240GGB, 240VN and the 240VGB. Transmission choices were the four-speed automatic gearbox for the 200 models and the five-speed automatic for the 240 models. Pricing for the Camry is 182,800 to 283,800 (US$26,760 to $41,550). The Camry Hybrid was introduced in April 2010 with trim levels known as the 240HG, 240HV and 240HV G-Book.
September 1991 Information What he found was a changed team now firmly under the control of Flavio Briatore and with hotshot Michael Schumacher installed as number one driver. Byrne's B193 car was a substantial technical advancement on the previous season's car, incorporating a semi-automatic gearbox, four-wheel steering, active suspension and traction control. The car took a single win in the hands of Schumacher, but everything was now in place for a title challenge in 1994. It was immediately obvious at the first race of 1994 that Byrne's B194 chassis would be the car to beat.
GSi 24v Prior to the Lotus tuned version, the range topper was the GSi 3000 upon which the Lotus Carlton was based. At launch in 1986 it had giving it a top speed of . In 1990, power was increased by going from two valves per cylinder to four, creating a 24-valve engine, resulting in which allowed 0-62 mph to be dispatched in 7.6 seconds and increased the top speed to . It was also available with an Automatic gearbox, which reduced the top speed to and increased the 0–62 mph time to 8.6 seconds.
By 1973, after General Motors demanded payment in advance of shipment, the engine supplier had been switched and cars were delivered with a Ford 5.8 litre V8, matched with a ZF five speed manual gear box or with Ford's own 'Cruise-O-Matic' automatic gearbox. In the rarefied market segment that it occupied, the car tended to find itself overshadowed by the Maserati Quattroporte, itself never a mass seller. Until Maserati in effect retreated from the market in response the economic shock that saw massive oil price increases, the Fidia was comfortably outsold by its Modenese competitor.
Comprehensively out-performed throughout the season by Frentzen, he decided to retire during the course of the year and could only score seven points towards the team's eventual tally of 61. The car used a mid-mounted, naturally aspirated Mugen-Honda MF-301HD 3.0 L V10 engine, Elf fuel and oil, Penske shock absorbers, Brembo carbon disc brakes, Bridgestone tyres and their own six-speed sequential semi-automatic gearbox. Jordan used Benson & Hedges logos, except at the French, British and Belgian Grands Prix, where they were replaced with "Buzzin' Hornets", tying in with the bee design at the front of the liveries.
The i has a "rear-midship" engine mounted just ahead of the rear axle, a highly unusual configuration in a small car where front-engine design has dominated since the 1970s. The 3B20 three-cylinder powerplant has an aluminium cylinder block, a displacement of 659 cubic centimetres, and incorporates double overhead camshafts with MIVEC variable valve timing in the cylinder head. Initially only an intercooled and turbocharged engine was offered, until a naturally aspirated version was introduced for 2007. A four-speed automatic gearbox transmits power to the rear or all four wheels, depending on specification.
Third Generation Forward with crane The Third generation forward was launched in June 1985 as the successor to the first and second generation forwards, the design is based on the 810's cab design and it was the first truck to win the Good Design Award. The FTR, FVR, FSR and FRR are all equipped with naturally aspirated and turbocharged isuzu 6BG1 and 6HE1 engines mated to the six-speed manual or NAVi6 six-speed automatic gearbox with an optional ABS. A 1992-1994 Isuzu Forward truck appears in a scene of Studio Ghibli's 1994 animated movie Pom Poko.
Aston Martin claimed the car had a top speed of either with the manual gearbox or with the automatic gearbox, and could accelerate from 0–97 km/h (60 mph) in 4.9 seconds. The V12 Vantage is long, wide, high, with a weight of . Aesthetic differences from the straight-6 DB7 include different wing mirrors and large fog lamps under the headlamps along with "DB7 Vantage" badging at the rear. After the launch of the Vantage, sales of the base DB7 with the supercharged straight-6 engine had reduced considerably so its production ended by mid-1999.
The LVSR is powered by a 15.2-litre Caterpillar C15 six-cylinder in-line turbocharged, water-cooled four-stroke diesel, developing 600 hp (448 kW). This is coupled to a seven-speed Allison automatic gearbox and Oshkosh single- speed transfer case. Suspension is Oshkosh TAK-4 fully independent all-round, and by coil springs on the front two axles, hydraulic on the rear three. The LVSR is based on a conventional C-section rigid chassis and to achieve the required turning radius, axles one, two, four, and five steer, the rear two axles steering mechanically and not electronically.
The 4.0-liter 1GR-FE V6 was standard paired to a five-speed automatic gearbox. On 24 September 2015, the fourth generation mid-life facelift received a new 3.5-liter V6, the 7GR-FKS to replace the previous 4.0-liter V6. While the engine capacity is lower when compared to the 4.0-liter, the power output remains the same at and of torque. It uses less fuel and it is known to be the only country in the world to offer the Prado with 3.5-liter V6 (model GRJ152L) to the consumer alongside with the 2.7-liter inline-four petrol (model TRJ152L).
Later detector vans, such as the Leyland illustrated, used a development of that technique with paired aerials, making a mechanically much simpler aerial system. The completed system was the most visually well- recognised of all the TV detector vans, particularly as their success and the expanded enforcement campaign with the growth of colour TV made them the most numerous. The system was mounted in a Commer PB van, as was becoming the standard GPO Telephones van, although extensively modified to carry the aerials. They also had an automatic gearbox, to ease the task of driving slowly down urban streets.
Invented early in the 20th century, the fluid coupling was the answer to the question of how to avoid stalling the engine when the vehicle was stopped with the transmission in gear. Chrysler itself never used the fluid coupling with any of its automatic transmissions, but did use it in conjunction with a hybrid manual transmission called "Fluid Drive" (the similar Hy-Drive used a torque converter). These developments in the automatic gearbox and fluid coupling technology eventually culminated in the introduction in 1939 of the General Motors Hydra-Matic, the world's first mass-produced automatic transmission.
Other details, which are not as easy to assign include the full-width rear badge strip under the tail lights, engine size badges on front wings, and a range of new wheel trims and alloy wheels. The automatic gearbox was now a French built GM Turbo-Hydramatic 180 model ( TH180 ), still offering three speeds but better ratios. The electric window switch pack moved from the centre console to the driver's door (and is well remembered for lacking edge finishing trim around the recesses), and a fully automatic choke appeared – eliminating the manual choke lever which had a tendency to break.
One T-55 tank fitted with this gas turbine engine passed trials but was deemed unsatisfactory and the design did not go into production. The Omsk OKB-29 group tested three experimental T-55 tanks (designated Ob'yekt 612) between 1962 and 1965 that were fitted with an automatic gearbox controlled by electro-hydraulic systems. The trials found that such gearboxes were prone to frequent breakdowns in tanks. At the same time the Ob'yekt 155ML, a T-55 fitted with a launcher for three 9M14 "Malyutka" (NATO code: AT-3 Sagger) ATGMs mounted on the rear of the turret, was tested.
In the first half of the season, the experimental system proved to be very unreliable, and it hampered Ferrari's efforts. However, such gearboxes would become the norm by the mid-1990s. Much of the development work was conducted at Ferrari's private test track Fiorano by test driver Roberto Moreno during the winter season (Moreno also doubled as the lead driver of the small, cash-strapped Coloni team). By the time the Grand Prix circus returned to Europe at the end of June, the problem with the semi-automatic gearbox was found to be not enough power from the battery.

In February 2015, the F3 was facelifted again known as the "third generation" F3. The facelift included new headlights and tail lights, bumpers and a new dashboard available for the 2016 model year. It runs on the same 1.5 BYD473QE engine.
Introduced in the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+, drift mode allows the car to completely cut the front axle from its all-wheel-drive 4MATIC system and transfer all and of torque to the rear axle of the car. This allows the driver to engage in easier drifts due to the nature of the rear wheel drive function. To enable drift mode, the driver must select Race mode, turn ESP off, and put the automatic gearbox into manual shifting. Next, the driver must pull both the paddles towards them and an option for drift mode arises.
A racing version was also available for a short time – FBE – with an individual throttle butterfly for each cylinder. FBB and FBD engines existed as development engines but these were never released. The two production engines were always mated to an automatic gearbox but have become popular in the custom car scene where they have been mated to the 4x4 manual transmission and the rear-wheel-drive manual transmission from the Ford Sierra XR4 and XR4x4. There are also companies that offer twin and single turbo conversions, and other modifications to increase power to usually around .
The second generation Sedona was the second top selling large MPV in the UK market, and in 2010 received a new grille, new equipment (including a reversing camera built into the rear-view mirror) and a single engine choice, a 192PS 2.2 CRDi I4 replacing the 183PS 2.9 CDRi. The second generation was marketed in three trim levels (1,2 & 3) with a 5-speed manual transmission or six-speed automatic gearbox. Trim level 1 included air-conditioning, electric windows. Trim level 2 received alloy wheels, rear parking camera with the display incorporated into the rear-view mirror, and climate control.
Ayrton Senna took pole position in qualifying ahead of Riccardo Patrese, making a record-breaking 177th appearance at a Grand Prix, and Gerhard Berger in the new Ferrari 640, which featured the first semi-automatic gearbox in Formula One. For Patrese it was actually his first front row start since he started second at the 1983 European Grand Prix at Brands Hatch, a gap of 81 races. On his debut for Ferrari, Berger's teammate Nigel Mansell qualified sixth. After the race Mansell joked that he was so convinced of his new car's unreliability that he had booked an early flight home.
They use Iveco NEF F4AE0681B engines which qualify for Euro 3 with a cylinder capacity of 5.9 dm3 and a maximum power of 176 kW (240 hp), as an option was there was the DAF PF 183C engine with a maximum power of 183 kW (250 hp), the transmission was a three-speed Voith Diwa 851.3 automatic gearbox. The engine is mounted at the rear along the axle of the bus, the power is transmitted to the rear axle by ZF A-132. The front suspension uses the ZF RL 85A. The bus is made out of stainless steel.
2019 Citroën C3–XR (facelift) 2019 Citroën C3–XR (facelift) The Citroën C3–XR received a facelift in 2019, featuring a restyled front fascia. The facelift was revealed on January 16, 2019, and was available in the market by March 2019. Engine options include a 1.6 litre engine, producing 117 hp, and a 1.2 litre turbo engine, producing 136 hp, both mated to either a five speed manual gearbox, and one six speed semi automatic gearbox. In 2020 a 4-door saloon crossover version was released called the C3l whose design is similar to the Subaru Legacy Outback sedan.
In 1948 restrictions on purchasing new vehicles were relaxed, and the bus fleet was quickly standardised almost entirely on locally-built Daimler double deckers with an open platform at the rear and the diesel engine at the front. The last petrol-engined bus was replaced in 1949. Many of the wartime specification buses were in poor condition and had to be re-bodied, some at the department's Keresley works. Notable exceptions to the Daimler purchasing policy were a London Transport style AEC and a Crossley which had a distinctive mainly cream colour scheme and initially had an automatic gearbox.
The MCW Metrorider, launched at the 1986 Motor Show, was a minibus designed built by Metro Cammell Weymann (MCW) between 1986 and 1989. Constructed in two lengths, 7.0 m and 8.4 m, the Metrorider was an integral bus, marking it out from its van-based rivals of the time. It was the second purpose-built minibus design (after the rather lightweight VW-based Optare CityPacer). MCW used beefy substantial components, the Perkins Phaser/ZF manual S5 driveline soon being outsold by the "optional" 115 bhp six-cylinder 5.9 litre Cummins B series engine driving through an Allison fully automatic gearbox.
The AEC Regent V was a front-engined double-decker bus built by the Associated Equipment Company between 1954 and 1969. It was the last version of AEC Regent series double-decker and was the successor to the AEC Regent III (not the AEC Regent IV underfloor-engined double-decker bus, which never entered production). The Regent V had AEC's own frontal design and concealed radiator as standard, although some were supplied with the radiator exposed at customer's request. It was fitted with an AEC engine or Gardner 6LW engine, coupled to a synchromesh or AEC Monocontrol semi-automatic or fully automatic gearbox.
This engine was coupled to a new electronically controlled four-speed automatic gearbox, developed by ZF Friedrichshafen. Fuel economy for the base model was EPA estimated at in the city and on the highway, giving it a cruising range with the gas tank. Optional in the LX and standard in ES models was a 3.0 L version of the Peugeot-Renault-Volvo (PRV) V6 engine, fitted with multiple port fuel injection, producing peak power and torque figures of at 5000 rpm and at 3570 rpm. Fuel efficiency of the V6 was rated at for the city and on the highway.
Rear view The M177 twin-turbocharged V8 engine The Vantage uses the powertrain and infotainment technology from Mercedes-Benz, like the DB11. The Vantage uses Mercedes-AMG's M177 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that has a power output of and of torque as is equipped with the Mercedes COMAND system. The Vantage is capable of accelerating from in 3.6 seconds, and attaining a top speed of . The Vantage uses a rear-mounted 8-speed automatic gearbox manufactured by ZF Friedrichshafen, and will be the only vehicle that pairs the Mercedes-AMG V8 with a manual transmission when the combination is made available.
ZF 9-HP48 sectioned gearbox The Discovery Sport is manufactured with either a 9–speed ZF 9-HP automatic gearbox or a 6–speed Getrag M66EH50 manual gearbox, both of which are also available on the Range Rover Evoque. Two different all-wheel drive systems are available. The standard system is the Haldex Traction fifth generation system from BorgWarner. Optional is the new Land Rover Active Driveline system, which is manufactured by GKN Driveline and reduces parasitic load by 75% when compared with the Haldex system in an effort to increase economy and reduce CO2 emissions.
Japanese market 2000 Blitzen The Blitzen model ("Blitz" is German for lightning) was the result of a collaboration with design house Porsche Design, and featured many unique parts and paint schemes, and was the top level luxury sport package from Subaru, using items from their STi performance division. The wheels, body kit, and interior were all designed by this German group. It also featured an implementation of Aisin Seiki's new sequential automatic gearbox,MotorTrend, July 2000 the first use of sequential-shifting on a production Subaru model. The model was refreshed in 2002 with an updated design.
The Great Wall Pao debuted on April 16, 2019 during the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show. The Pao is available in three different set-ups initially, including the standard passenger model, the off-road model, and the commercial model. An electric version was also revealed but was not available at launch. The Pao is built on the P71 platform of Great Wall Motors, which also used for the Haval H9 SUV, and is powered by a 2.0 liter turbo inline-4 gasoline engine code named GW4C20B with a maximum output of 197hp four wheel drive is optional and the transmission is a 8-speed automatic gearbox or a 6-speed manual gearbox.
It had a small 6V (six volt) battery fitted and an ignition switch to provide easy starting and for constant and even power to the lights and horn. Like the FR80, the engine drives a 3-speed semi-automatic gearbox, with a heel-and-toe gear shift. In the early 1970s Suzuki started to import the FR50, followed by the introduction of the FR 50K an improved version in 1974, then it was discontinued in August 1975. Production didn't resume until February 1981 in the form of an even further improved version, the FR50 X. The FR80 replaced the FR70 in the summer of 1976.
It can be optionally equipped with a self-recovery winch, nuclear, biological and chemical filtration kit, automation fire extinguishing system, intercom system, navigation system and an auxiliary power unit. In an APC configuration, the vehicle can carry nine personnel and can be armed with a number of different weapons, including crew-operated machine guns and remote weapon stations armed with short-range surface-to-air missiles and grenade launchers. Cobra II is powered by a 6.7L, six-cylinder, water cooled, turbo charged, common rail, diesel engine mated to an automatic gearbox (six forward and one reverse). It produces a power of 360hp (269kW) at 2,650rpm, and torque of 1100Nm at 1,400rpm.
This 9.6-litre 90-degree vee-six engine developed 192 bhp at 2600rpm and was compact enough to fit under the rear seat on a bodied bus and allow drive to pass through a conventional Daimler SCG Daimatic four-speed semi-automatic gearbox to a straight spiral-bevel rear axle manufactured by Eaton, an electrically operated two-speed axle being optional. All round air suspension was standard, with rubber and steel leaf options. Although some drawings show a front-mounted radiator, standard production versions had this mounted on the rear offside, as on the Fleetline. Other components such as the front axle, steering, brakes, driving controls etc.
In 2013, the T5 engine was revamped before the launch of the Drive-E arrival. Among the tweaks to the T5 power plant is a boost in engine compression to 9.5:1 from 9.0, engine torque peaks at 4200 rpm and engine management changes provide faster gear changes and upshifts when the 6-speed automatic gearbox is in the sport mode. Output remains the same over 2012 at and of torque, although there is a provision for overboost from the turbo which bumps the torque number to . The changes in compression ratio helps the S60 T5 deliver extra in the city and combined cycle.
All engines are mated to a ZF-supplied 8HP70 8-speed automatic gearbox, with four-wheel drive available on the V6 in left- hand drive markets only. The V6 four-wheel drive Q4 drivetrain is the same as that in the Ghibli. Attached to the end of the 8-speed transmission is a transfer case, containing an electronically controlled multi-plate wet clutch, which sends power through a drive shaft to an open differential bolted to the oil pan. During normal operation the car is rear-wheel drive only; when needed the system can divert up of 50% of engine torque to the front wheels.
For 1989, Berger was joined at Ferrari by Nigel Mansell. The Ferrari 640 with its V12 engine was fast but fragile, thanks in part to its revolutionary semi- automatic gearbox designed by John Barnard. At the Brazilian Grand Prix, Berger tangled with Senna at the very first corner as the Brazilian found himself trapped between Riccardo Patrese's Williams-Renault to the left and Berger's Ferrari to the right, with the three drivers dicing for the lead. Berger was lucky to escape alive from a crash during the San Marino Grand Prix at Imola's Tamburello corner, where he went straight on into the wall at almost .
The roof was a bit taller so as to provide more interior comfort, and the Accord Sedan was the first Honda in Japan to be offered with typically Japanese middle- class extras such as ornate hubcaps and lace seat covers.Car Styling Quarterly #21, p. 56 In the U.S. market, the sedan was available in three colors: Nivorno Beige with beige cloth interior, silver with maroon cloth interior, or dark red with maroon cloth interior. In 1980 the optional two-speed semi- automatic transmission of previous years became a three-speed fully automatic gearbox (a four-speed automatic transaxle was not used in the Accord until the 1983 model year).
The traditional automatic gearbox was replaced by a sequential automatic. Unique to the G220 were 17-inch Elegance alloy wheels, ebony headlight bezels with unique lens, and redline leather seats with warm charcoal, perforated leather inserts. The Fairlane Ghia continued as the six-cylinder base model, but came standard with colour ICC screen, asix-CD stack, 11-speaker Premium Sound, 7-way adjustable leather seats, and woodgrain inserts. The LTD was further distinguished from the Ghia by having the 5.4-L V8 engine, sunroof, 17-inch alloy wheels, LTD badging, 10-way adjustable front seats, bolstered rear seats, satellite navigation, and auto-dimming rear-vision mirror.
Nigel Mansell and Williams were on a roll as Formula One arrived in Hungary, while Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost were ordered by FISA to work out their differences following their confrontation in the German Grand Prix. Senna was also angry with his McLaren team after he had run out of fuel in the two previous races, losing valuable points to Mansell. During the practice session, McLaren made the first test for the semi- automatic gearbox on their car. Senna proceeded to dominate qualifying, taking pole by over a second from Riccardo Patrese, Mansell, Prost, Gerhard Berger, Jean Alesi, Emanuele Pirro, Stefano Modena, Ivan Capelli, and Martin Brundle.
Safrane Biturbo Baccara In 1994, Renault launched the high performance Biturbo version available in RXE and Baccara models. This model featured a twin-turbo, evolution of the 3.0 L V6 of the Alpine A610, developed with the assistance of German tuning firms Hartge and Irmscher, coupled with all-wheel drive. However, it was only available with a manual transmission, as no automatic gearbox existed anywhere in the world for a transversely mounted engine of that horsepower with AWD. Given that automatic transmissions and V8 engines are strongly preferred in the price class where Biturbo competed, it is not surprising that only 806 Biturbos were made.
Higer Longwei rear Launched in March 2015, the Higer Longwei midsize pickup is available with two engine options, including a 2.4 liter four-cylinder petrol engine producing 136hp and 200nm of torque, and a 2.8 liter four-cylinder turbo- diesel engine producing 102hp and 220nm of torque, both either mated to a five-speed manual gearbox or a five-speed automatic gearbox. The standard layout is rear wheel drive, and four-wheel drive is optional. Prices of the Higer Longwei starts at 81,800 yuan and ends at 101,800 yuan ($13,184 – 16,407) at launch. The sport model adds a panoramic sunroof, 18 inch wheels and full leather interior to the base model car. Cars for the European market come as standard with a 6-speed manual transmission and have the option of a DCT automatic gearbox. The range in Europe also includes a "BlueDrive" option, which adds low rolling resistance tires and stop-start technology to the engine in order to reduce emissions, but only on the entry level car. Unlike the Mini Clubman, which features a pair of bi-parting side doors that are always located on the right of the car (irrespective of the market), the Veloster has different left and right hand drive configurations.
1970 Rolls-Royce Phantom VI limousine, the official car used on ceremonial occasions to transport the Governor-General of Australia and visiting heads of state landaulet by Mulliner Park Ward – invoice price £498,365 or in 2018 pounds £1,015,169.40 Most of the coachwork was created by Mulliner Park Ward, usually in limousine form, although a few landaulets were made. The Phantom VI was the last Rolls-Royce with a separate chassis. It featured coil springs in front, leaf springs and live axle in rear, and drum brakes on all four wheels. The car was powered by a 90-degree V8 with a bore of and stroke of with twin SU carburettors, coupled to a 4-speed automatic gearbox.
As with an F1 car, the V10 engine was mid engined (as opposed to the conventional front-engined layout) and the power was transmitted to the rear wheels via a six speed semi automatic gearbox, also used in the Williams FW15C. The engine and transmission allowed the Espace F1 to accelerate from in 2.8 seconds, in 6.9 seconds and carry on accelerating to a top speed of . With the use of carbon ceramic brakes, the Espace F1's deceleration was no less impressive than its acceleration, and could accelerate from and brake to a complete halt in under . The Olympian for China not only differed from the other 59 in being left hand drive, it was fitted with a Pneumocylic semi-automatic gearbox. Initially finished in cream and orange, it made landfall at Hsinkang and was used by the Beijing authority on experimental suburban express routes. No further were purchased and it seems not to have influenced the direction of Chinese bus design. In his Classic Blunderbus column on the type in Classic Bus 63, the current Buses Magazine editor Alan Millar explained that it was a lightweight version of the Leyland-MCW Olympic, and as that used Leyland Royal Tiger or Royal Tiger Worldmaster components, so this used Leyland Tiger Cub units.
The T-14 has a 12-speed automatic gearbox, with a top speed of and a range of . At least one expert speculated that the transmission might be an electronically controlled mechanical gearbox with external reverse and demultiplier gears, giving the tank equal forward and reverse gear ranges. Other sources suggest a partly or fully hydrostatic transmission. Uniquely for a Soviet/Russian design, the transmission is joined with the engine into a single unit that can be swapped out in the field in just under 30 minutes. Unlike previous Russian and Soviet designs, such as the T-90/80/72/64, the T-14 has seven 700 mm road wheels per side, based on the T-80 variant.
Such a B-pillar means that the front seatbelts must be installed below the beltline. The front passenger seat belt tensioner unit, where the seat belt would recoil for storage when not in use, was located inside the rear passenger doors, and the seat belt latch was located on the front headrest support arm, allowing the belt to be properly positioned when the headrest was adjusted for height for the front passenger. 1992 MS-8 interior The MS-8's interior design has several unique features. The car is only fitted with a 4-speed automatic gearbox, and the gear shifter is mounted on the dashboard next to the air-conditioning controls.
Fiat also introduced a low emission version called EcoJet available with a 1.3 diesel engine with manual or semi-automatic gearbox (called Comfort-Matic, an evolution of the previous Dualogic); the EcoJet has low rolling impact tires and a variable displacement oil pump. Trim levels include Cargo, Combined and Panorama versions, which also includes the Adventure set-up (available in all three versions) with raised trim and suspension, M+S tires, specific alloy wheels, additional bumper bands and Traction+ differential lock electronic system. The PSA brand versions, on the other hand, were not updated and went out of production in December 2017. In July 2018, the Fiat Fiorino engines were re- homologated Euro 6D-Temp.
The new A107V Minica Econo ("Econo" hinting at its primary use as a private economy car rather than as a commercial vehicle) looked very similar to the Ami L but featured a proper rear hatch and folding rear seat, allowing it to be registered as a light commercial vehicle like its competitors the Daihatsu Mira, Suzuki Alto and Subaru Rex. Cargo capacity, compared to the more workmanlike Minica 55 Van, was reduced from 300 to . A two-speed, semi-automatic gearbox was also available on all models, while the standard four-speed manual received lower gearing for the Econo model. The engine was more quiet than before, featuring a milder cam profile.
The 4 speed automatic was only available on the 2002 Heijinggang with the V6 engine. Throughout its production run, pricing ranged between 109,800 and 302,800 yuan (15,930 and US$43,930). GAC Changfeng- Leopaard Pajero The sister model, known as the Qibing/6481, was produced from 2009 until 2014. The 2.2-litre 4RB3 was the only engine available paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Two models were available priced at 99,800 and 124,800 yuan (14,480 and US$18,100). Both models were replaced by a face-lifted version called the Leopard Q6 (猎豹Q6) that year and is still in production today.Changfeng Motor The Q6 used the 4G63 for 2015 and 2017 models paired to a 6 speed manual and automatic gearbox.
The rear lights are sharp and integrated with the trunk and appeared to be inspired by models of Alfa Romeo, like the 156 and 159. The new Siena is in production at Betim (Brazil) and Córdoba (Argentina), with 1.0 8v, 1.4 8v, 1.4 8v TetraFuel, and 1.8 8v engines, flexible for the Brazilian market (capable of using gasoline and ethanol). The TetraFuel is the first multifuel car that can run as a flexi-fuel on pure gasoline, or E25, or E100; or runs as a bi-fuel with natural gas (CNG). As of 2011, the sportive version - Siena Sporting 1.6R 16v, equipped with Fiat's Dualogic automatic gearbox - were also in production, although Fiat announced that this variant won't be offered anymore from 2012.
A fully automatic air conditioning system, named Climatronic, was also offered. It was available with a choice of a five-speed manual gearbox, a six-speed manual gearbox, only for the sporty 1.9-litre diesel model, or with a four-speed automatic gearbox, used only in combination with the 1.4-litre petrol engine. A six-speed semi-automatic transmission (Tiptronic) was added from mid-2006, after the facelift, also available only with the 1.4-litre or with the 1.6-litre petrol engines. There was also a crossover version of the Polo, with off-road styling, named Polo Fun (Polo Dune in the UK, Polo Soho in Spain), released in 2003 - despite its appearance the car was never available with 4WD.
During the early 1990s GAZ managed to survive the crises by having the Volga do a generation jump from the GAZ-24-10 to the GAZ-3110 in 1997. Simultaneously it never abandoned its quest to develop its eventual replacement, and continued designing a new car, which would feature ABS, power steering, climate control, automatic gearbox and most of all V6 and even V8 engines as standard, along with leather interiors. The external design was completely new and featured many GAZ-21 influenced retro styling cues developed in collaboration with a US-based company. However problems began mounting in production costs, as some details had to be borrowed from the older models, at least initially such as the Chaika's axle.
M5 model The M5, based on the 5 Series (known internally as F90) was announced on 21 August 2017 alongside the Need for Speed Payback video game followed by a public reveal at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2017. The car utilises a 4.4-litre V8 engine rated at and of torque, and is the first M5 to feature an automatic gearbox as the sole transmission option, and an all-wheel drive system that can switch between rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive mode. The M5 was initially offered in a "First Edition" trim that adds a numbered plaque, 20-inch wheels, matte red paint and white leather upholstery. A competition package for the M5 was announced on 9 May 2018.
The entry-level TC had the 956 cc engine (rated at 42 bhp), while the TL had the 1108 cc engine (rated at 47 bhp), and the GTL, Automatic, TS and TSE had the 1397 cc engine (rated at for the GTL, for the Automatic, and for the TS and TSE). The TC and TL had four-speed manual gearboxes, while the GTL, TS and TSE had five-speed manual gearboxes (which were optional on the TL), and the Automatic had a three-speed automatic gearbox. 1987 saw the introduction of the 1721 cc F2N engine in the GTX, GTE (F3N) and Baccara (Monaco in some markets, notably the United Kingdom). Diesel versions arrived in November 1985, mostly completing the range.
SCG devised the semi-automatic gearbox, under their brand name "Pneumocyclic" as an advance. It had the same gearbox principle, but instead of pre-selecting a gear and then separately operating a change- gear pedal, both functions were combined and operated from a small lever alongside the steering wheel, the driver merely moving this to the next gear and the transmission responding accordingly. The mechanism was operated either by air pressure or low-voltage electrics, although the physical gearshifting in the gearbox was nearly always by air pressure, (some vehicles used high pressure hydraulics, notably BMMO vehicles). This style of transmission was also widespread in UK buses, from a range of manufacturers, until different types came onto the market in the 1980s.
The all-new Mark IV Super Snipe announced mid-October 1952, Earls Court Motor Show time, used a Hawk Mk IV body shell lengthened by but with a 4138 cc overhead-valve engine also used in a Rootes Group Commer truck. Chassis and suspension components were uprated to take the greater weight and power of the Super Snipe, those parts ceasing to be interchangeable with those of the Hawk. From 1955, overdrive was available as an option, followed in 1956 by an automatic gearbox. Shortly after the car's announcement Leslie Johnson, Stirling Moss, and two Rootes Group staff, drove a new silver-grey Super Snipe from Oslo to Lisbon, travelling through fifteen European countries in 3 days, 17 hours and 59 minutes.

Like other transmission systems on vehicles, it allows an internal combustion engine, best suited to run at a relatively high rotational speed, to provide a range of speed and torque outputs necessary for vehicular travel. The number of forward gear ratios is often expressed for manual transmissions as well (e.g., 6-speed manual).
Rear Interior The second generation Audi Q7 was unveiled in January 2015 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The diesel- and petrol- powered versions were released for retail sales in 2015, followed shortly by diesel-powered plug-in hybrid variant, which is sold in Europe and will be available in the U.S. but not in Canada. The plug-in hybrid, called the Q7 e-tron TDI Quattro, is powered by a 3.0 TDI V6 turbodiesel engine mated with an electric motor-generator placed in the 8-speed automatic gearbox to provide a maximum output power of and a maximum torque of four-wheel drive. An electronically controlled clutch can disconnect the V6 engine from the rest of the powertrain.
As with the related Holden VY all-wheel drive vehicles, the HSV Y Series AWD vehicles as built from September 2004 to March 2005 confusingly have Z Series compliance and Vehicle Identification Numbers; this correlates to the building of new specification Holden VZ and Z Series HSV non-AWD cars during this period. The updated Avalanches with some of the Z Series upgrades can be externally visually differentiated from the Y Series versions by their re-profiled front bumper unit that looks less aggressive and which features a more integrated appearance to the auxiliary driving lights. The Avalanche vehicles were fitted exclusively with the 5.7-litre LS1 V8 engine rated at of power and of torque, mated to a four-speed 4L65-E automatic gearbox.
The SLC is commonly referred to as an 'SL coupe', and this was the first time that Mercedes-Benz had based a coupe on an SL roadster platform rather than on a saloon, replacing the former saloon-based 280/300 SE coupé in Mercedes lineup. The SLC was replaced earlier than the SL, with the model run ending in 1981, with a much larger model, the 380 SEC and 500SEC based on the new S class. Volume production of the first R107 car, the 350 SL, started in April 1971 alongside the last of the W113 cars; the 350 SLC followed in October. The early 1971 350SL are very rare and were available with an optional 4 speed fluid coupling automatic gearbox.
Nissan 200SX XE coupé with new rear lamps in Canada The S12 series was badged as a "Nissan 200SX" in North America. It was introduced in February 1984, four months behind the rest of Nissan's 1984 models.Flammang, p. 174 For fear that the North American market would not be as profitable as other markets throughout, Nissan executives only scheduled the manufacturing of 5,000 of each trim package/engine options in the final two years before the halt of production for the United States, which was in 1988. The S12 "XE" was strictly a notcback coupé, and was only available with a 2.0-litre SOHC, non-turbo engine and made available with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearbox.
On 28 July 2008, Honda UK announced that the second-generation Jazz would be on sale from 17 October 2008. The new model will be sold with two new engine variants; a 90 PS 1.2-liter i-VTEC gasoline capable of (combined) and with low CO2 emissions of 120 g/km; and a 100 PS 1.4-liter i-VTEC gasoline engine capable of (combined) and with similarly low CO2 emissions of 123 g/km. Honda also announced the introduction of an optional new "I-SHIFT" semi-automatic gearbox replacing the traditional automatic CVT gearbox that had been available on the previous model. Production of the Jazz for European markets moved from Japan to Honda's UK plant in Swindon on 7 October 2009.
Air conditioning was an optional extra, though not in conjunction with power steering due to the lack of space in the engine bay for both. The Gentry was a limited edition version of the 205, it had 1.6 GTI suspension combined with a detuned 1.9 litre engine (as fitted to export market GTIs such as those for Australia and Switzerland) but with an automatic gearbox. Only 300 models were made in Sorrento Green and Aztec Gold (sometimes called Mayfair Beige). They came with full leather trim and real wood trim, power steering and heated mirrors in the UK, as well as the same body side trims as the GTI – which led to the Gentry often being mistaken for a GTI.
Jaguar XJR Jaguar XJR The XJR was introduced as a high-performance sport model, and it was Jaguar's first-ever supercharged road car (and only the second Jaguar road car to use forced induction, after the turbocharged Jaguar XJ220.) The output of the six-cylinder AJ16 engine was increased to and with the use of an Eaton M90 supercharger and an air-water intercooler. The acceleration time was generally around the 5.7 to 6.4 second mark. The XJR was fitted with larger 17" wheels, compared to 16" on the rest of the range, along Pirelli P-Zero tyres, firmer suspension and a taller 3.27:1 differential. Although the Getrag manual gearbox was standard, almost all XJRs were built with the optional GM 4L80-E automatic gearbox.
The GT/B variation was introduced as a wagon-only model in October 1993 as a more sporting version of the Touring Wagon GT (BG5A), and fitted as standard with ABS brakes, Subaru Sports Suspension, and 16″ BBS cross-spoke alloy wheels. Engine and gearbox specification was the same as GT, having the 250 ps version of the EJ20H and a choice of either five-speed manual or four-speed automatic gearbox. Unlike the GT, the GT/B did not come with a power-operated driver's seat and optional extras like driver and passenger airbags, cruise control, sunroof, and wood panel trim was not available. The GT/B was discontinued in June 1996 with the introduction of the GT-B (BG5B).
A total of 3300 mm and 6300 mm wheelbase can be selected, the construction version of the Actros is available between 3300 and 5100 mm wheelbase with the option of Leaf or Air Suspension on the front axle and Parabolic leaf springs on the rear. The Construction variant of the Actros with 4x2 axle configuration are equipped with drum brakes. Engine and Transmission The Engines for the MP1 Actros is equipped with OM501LA V6 or OM502 V8 mated to a 16-speed manual gearbox or 16-speed hydropneumatically-operated automatic gearbox. Fuel Processing Another new feature of the Actros is the Pump-Line Nozzle Fuel injection system, an improvement for the plug-in pumps that have been used for decades.
In 2007, Honda Malaysia launched the third generation Honda CR-V that has only one variant 2.0L A/T (4WD) i-VTEC SOHC with a 5-speed automatic gearbox featuring 2 overdrive gears for better fuel economy during high speed cruising. This version 2.0L A/T (4WD) i-VTEC SOHC has 150 PS at 6,200rpm and a maximum torque of 190Nm at 4,200rpm. This CR-V come with dual i-SRS front airbags, rear parking sensors, active headrests, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake distribution and electric power steering. There is also ample trim level (17-inch alloy wheels), including cruise control, dual zone climate control, a 6-disc in-dash changer with MP3 and aux input, and steering wheel- mounted audio controls, however the seats are fabric, not leather.
It was attached to the back of the generator and allowed the steering to be geared up to 3.5 turns lock-to-lock as against the 4.5 turns for the Mark VII and VIII models. Unlike the early automatic Mark VII predecessor, (but like late mark VII and all Mark VIII) the Borg Warner DG automatic gearbox started in first gear and had a dash-mounted switch to allow second gear to be held indefinitely. Once in third gear, a series of clutches engaged to allow direct drive rather than through the torque converter. The torsion bar independent front suspension and leaf-sprung rear live axle were retained from the Mk VIII, which, in turn, was first used in the 1949 Mark V. Final drive was 4.27:1, (4.55:1 when overdrive was fitted).
The 5G-Tronic (model W5A 330 and W5A 580 · type 722.6) is an electronically shifted 5-speed overdrive automatic transmission with torque converter lock-up (typically in gears 3, 4 and 5) and 2-speed for reverse. In all applications this transmission is identified as the New Automatic Gearbox Generation One, or NAG1. It replaced the older 4-speed 4G-Tronic transmission- family and its 5-speed derivative, and was replaced by the significantly more complex and cost-intensive 7-speed Mercedes Benz 7G-Tronic (model W7A 700 · type 722.9) transmission with 11 main components, introduced in 2003. Due to its high torque capacity (up to 1000 Nm) and lower cost, it was still retained for turbocharged V12 engines, four-cylinder applications and commercial vehicles for almost a decade.
Due to the expected extreme high revs and consequent narrow power band expected of the new engines, technical director John Barnard insisted upon the development of a revolutionary new gear-shifting arrangement – the paddle-operated, semi-automatic gearbox. In pre-season testing, the experimental system proved extremely troublesome, with newly arrived driver Nigel Mansell being unable to compete more than a handful of laps, but nonetheless they managed a debut win at the opening round in Brazil. Horrendous reliability led to Berger being unable to score a point until a run of podiums at Monza, Estoril and Jerez including a win at Estoril. Mansell scored a memorable win at Budapest where he overtook world champion Ayrton Senna for the win after qualifying far down the field in twelfth.
The Arma 6x6 is motorised with a 450 hp water-cooled turbo diesel capable of running on F-34 or F-54 fuel drives the wheels through an automatic gearbox and single-speed transfer box, giving it a top speed of 105 km/h and a power/weight ratio of 24.3 hp/tonne. This also powers the onboard 24 V direct currentDC electrical system, which incorporates two maintenance- free 125 Ah batteries and a 3.3 kW converter. Arma's front two axles are steerable enabling it to make a turning radius of 7.85 m and the vehicle rides on independent hydropneumatic suspension, offering respectable off-road mobility and comfort. It can negotiate 45-degree approach and departure angles leading onto 60 per cent inclines and 30 per cent side-slopes.
As a one-off engineering prototype, to test production viability, an Australian 1800 Mark II body with subtly extended front guards and modified front internal structure was fitted with an early Rover 3.5 litre V8 mounted in the "North-South" position in the engine bay and then through a complex mechanical system, drove a heavily modified version of an "East-West"-mounted Borg Warner 3-speed automatic gearbox and Austin FWD differential. This car became Australia’s first locally-made FWD V8 car. The car was built by BLMC (Australia) at its Victoria Park works at Zetland, New South Wales. Mass production costs and general viability of the V8 "1800" were felt to be excessive, and the project was shelved, preference being given to the Australian Leyland P76 project.
The convertible version of the DBS called the DBS Volante was unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show on 3 March 2009, followed by the 2009 Concours d'Elegance. The DBS Volante includes a motorized retractable fabric roof controlled by a button in the centre console and can fold into the compartment located behind the seats in 14 seconds after the press of the button. The roof can be opened or closed while at speeds up to . Apart from the roof, changes include a new wheel design available for both the coupé and volante versions and a 2+2 seating configuration also available for both versions. Other features include rear- mounted six-speed manual or optional six-speed ‘Touchtronic 2’ automatic gearbox, Bang & Olufsen BeoSound in-car entertainment system with 13 speakers.
The Land Rover part of the group saw the most product development in an (ultimately successful) attempt to turn around a severe decline in Land Rover sales in the early 1980s (a 25% fall between 1980 and 1981 alone). A modernised and improved Land Rover model range was launched in stages between 1983 and 1985 (the Land Rover Ninety/One Ten/127 range, with new engines, transmissions, suspension and interiors. The Range Rover was gradually pushed up-market into the luxury car sector with a facelift and with more powerful engines, an automatic gearbox, 5 doors and new interior features such as leather seats and air conditioning. Throughout the mid 1980s new engines were added to the Land Rover line-up, including more powerful V8 petrol engines and a turbodiesel model.
Thus the team were found guilty of the offence, but escaped punishment due to this valid plea in mitigation. Schumacher's appeal against his disqualification at the Belgian Grand Prix, however, was rejected by the FIA. After the hearing, Benetton released a statement which said: At the same hearing, the McLaren team was found to be in breach of the technical regulations over a fully automatic gearbox upshift device in the transmission system that was confirmed to have been run in Mika Häkkinen's car during the San Marino Grand Prix. The FIA's discovery of this device occurred when McLaren test driver Philippe Alliot, who had taken a race seat at Larrousse mid-season, commented on the fact that the cars of his new team did not possess such a facility.
Introduced in early 1990s, the truck was a military development of the commercial Leyland T45 roadtrain. As the company had entrusted to Scammell the development of the commercial eight-wheeled variant (S24 constructor range), the military variant was developed as the Scammell S26. Initially developed for the 1986 DROPS trials as a 6x6, the final 8x6 S26 had a Rolls Royce Perkins 350 Eagle engine; a 12-litre diesel @ ), a ZF six-speed automatic gearbox and Kirkstall axles. In February 1987 the company learned that its tender for 1,522 such vehicles was successful, but that because the Leyland group had been purchased by DAF NV of the Netherlands the S26 would be built at the Leyland factory in Leyland, Lancashire, allowing the complete closure of Scammell's Watford site.
Volkswagen Polo Sedan (Russia) In 2010, a sedan based on the Polo Mk5 platform was developed for being launched in India and Russia, and therefore exported to several markets. This saloon is known as Volkswagen Vento or Polo Sedan, depending on the country . It has a length of 4,384 mm, increased wheelbase (2,552 mm) and ground clearance (168–170 mm), and had one petrol (1.6-litre, 4-cylinder, 105 PS; coupled with either 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox) and one diesel engine (1.6-litre, turbocharged 4-cylinder common rail, 105 PS; only 5-speed manual gearbox) options available. In several markets, it is succeeded by the Volkswagen Virtus, while some markets like Mexico offered the Virtus alongside the Vento for the purpose of keeping a budget-friendly option.
FAW Junpai D60 rear The Junpai (骏派) brand was launched in 2014, and it is a new brand of First Auto Works (FAW) with the Junpai D60 as their first car. Formerly known as the FAW Xiali T102, the Junpai D60 was originally planned to be a new product of the FAW Xiali brand, until the FAW Xiali brand was discontinued and replaced by the Junpai brand. The Junpai D60 was available with two petrol-fueled four-cylinder engines including a 1.5 liter producing 100 hp and 135nm of torque, and a 1.8 liter producing 136hp and 170nm of torque, with two gearbox options available including a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Prices of the Junpai D60 at launch ranges from 56,900 yuan to 89,900 yuan.
The Routemaster was designed by London Transport and constructed at Park Royal Vehicles, with the running units provided by its sister company AEC. Both companies were owned by Associated Commercial Vehicles, which was taken over by Leyland Motors in 1962.About AEC AEC Southhall Rear platform of a Routemaster, with updated hand-rails for Heritage Route operation It was an innovative design and used lightweight aluminium along with techniques developed in aircraft production during World War II. As well as a novel, weight-saving integral design, it also introduced for the first time on a bus independent front suspension, power steering, a fully automatic gearbox and power-hydraulic braking. This surprised some early drivers, who found the chassis unexpectedly light and nimble compared with older designs, especially as depicted on film on tests at the Chiswick Works skid pan.
Sasaki organised a Formula One project which was announced in the autumn of that year. Akiyoshi Oku, who had designed the F104 F3000 car, began work on the new F105 chassis in the summer of 1995. Sasaki's influence was crucial, as he was in a position to buy Minardi's old gearbox and hydraulic systems to use on the F105. The transmission was a six-speed semi-automatic gearbox designed by Xtrac, and had previously been used, in addition to the Minardi team, by the unraced DAMS GD-01 car and formerly in the Simtek S941 chassis during the season. In terms of the car's engine, Dome's success with Mugen Honda engines in the Japanese racing scene ensured that the F105 would be powered by the company's MF301 V10 engine, as used by the Ligier team during the 1995 Formula One season.
There were two problems with the Daimatic transmission system; Firstly with excessive wear, as with the Cummins it was working at its design limits for power and torque and but for the effects of altitude it would have been way over its limits on the Pretoria buses. Secondly drivers newly allocated the type had not driven a vehicle of equivalent power before and most were not trained in the use of the semi- automatic gearbox which lacked the engine-braking effect of a 'solid' transmission. This resulted in many engine losses due to overspeeding, there was no easy way to control this as the pure 'fluid flywheel' form of transmission was used rather than a Leyland SCG-style lock-up clutch. Problems with the braking and transmission fed back on one another and exacerbated engine damage.
The Tiger Cub was very much the product of its straitened times, and throughout its production life faced stiff competition from the AEC Reliance. In August 1967, a number of additional changes were incorporated to accommodate stricter safety regulations and US emission laws. The safety improvements included a collapsible steering wheel and padded wheel hub, concave control knobs, elastic black rubber heater levers (instead of rigid coloured translucent plastic), and softer, rounded dash top padding. Door handles, locks, and window cranks were modernized and less protruding, the door pockets were elastic, the rear-view mirror frame was black plastic instead of chrome, and the side view mirrors became more angular. MINI has also released an all-new model called the MINI 5-door (AKA 4-door in US, F55).
