The court noted that some investigating officers were aware of the existence of a letter written by the girl before her disappearance, but they had not tried to trace it or simply did not present it. The content was only known to a witness who had read it before giving it to the police, and the receiving officer recorded this. The witness had said that letter said that she was going on a trip with accused #1, but later it was claimed the she was lured with the promise of marriage. The auto-rickshaw driver was found an investigator much late into the case on 23 July 1996.

Lately, a new form of transportation was born, informal Auto rickshaws (mototaxismo), taking illegally over the bus and taxi services, to a point that are making them go bankrupt. The local government is attempting to penalize the use of Auto rickshaw for safety reasons and are also operating illegally, but because there are so many and tend to violently protest, the issue became difficult. In 2014 the local government expects to introduce the new Massive Strategic Transportation System (Sistema Estrategico de Transporte Público, SETP) with new routes and more modern buses. Valledupar is served by the Alfonso López Pumarejo Airport, that receives national and some charter flights.

Amrit and Kamla meet up to develop a good relationship. One fine day Kamla gets late to pick up her granddaughter Sunita from the school, as the auto rickshaw she was travelling to reach school, meets with an accident. Amrit, meanwhile goes to pick up his grandson Rahul, comes to know of this and brings Sunita to her house. Amrit sees Kamla being humiliated by her daughter-in-law when he goes to their house to nurse Kamla’s injury. Amrit decides to donate some money to Brahmins on the occasion of his son’s birthday but he does not have money and so asks his son to give him few bucks.

The movie kicked off a series of films by the production firm Marikar Films that also includes the Mollywood debut of directors Gautham Menon and Thiru. Thank You, which is penned by 10:30 am Local Call scribe Arun Lal, was the first among the eight films to go on floors. On the film, the scriptwriter had revealed before shoot that the film is a thriller that unravels in Trivandrum and the plot revolves around a person who comes to the city. Also that they do not introduce the person by his name or whereabouts, and he just travels from place to place in an auto rickshaw.

In Mumbai and other metropolitan cities, 'autos' or 'rickshaws', as they are popularly known, have regulated metered fares. A recent law prohibits auto rickshaw drivers from charging more than the specified fare, or charging night-fare before midnight, and also prohibits the driver from refusing to go to a particular location. Mumbai and Kolkata are also the only two cities which prohibit auto rickshaws from entering a certain part of the city, in these cases being South Mumbai and certain parts of Downtown Kolkata. However, in cities like Chennai, it is common to see autorickshaw drivers demand more than the specified fare and refuse to use fare meter.

The withdrawal of many of the direct bus services from the station to Thanjavur, as well as absence of sufficient services on other routes is viewed as a great hardship on the part of commuters to the station. This is compounded by lack of regular bus services from Ariyalur Railway Station to the Ariyalur main bus stand and high auto rickshaw fares for commuting that distance. Lack of porters and petty shops, inadequate number of seats and shelters and unavailability of additional platforms form the other issues at the station. Project on doubling the track between Ariyalur and Valadi segment to a length of 50 km had been executed, the 25-km stretch between Ariyalur and Mathur also commissioned.

This is a story of a small suburban locality of the Metro City Kolkata named Goragacha. The neighbourhood or in Bengali Para consists of a small grocery shop, run by its owner Shankar, a barber, a tea stall, a ladies tailor, a gents tailor and a local auto rickshaw driver. Amongst locals, there are a political leader or dada, a family whose only young youth was actively engaged in politics and subsequently died in a police encounter, a teacher, a live-in frustrated son-in-law and a Bahurupi. The story started with affectionate bondage between people in that big joint family like para, which slowly faced the fear of being extinct due to their financial stringency.

Provincial buses, PUV's and jeepneys picks up and drops off passengers at the Sogod Bus Terminal in barangay Zone III Jeepneys, habal-habals and potpots are common means of public transportation in the municipality. A converted army jeep outfitted with many decorations, jeeepneys are often used for short trips and plays an integral part of the town’s public transportation system. The following are the existing jeepney routes in town:Habal-habal, a motorcycle modified to seat more than six persons, is used by commuters plying for the interior and far-flung areas of the municipality. Most habal-habals terminate at: Blue Potpots thrive at Osmeña street in barangay Zone II. A potpot is a type of an auto rickshaw carrying nine to twelve passengers, including the driver.

A tricycle with many passengers in Tagkawayan, Quezon Dumaguete City Tagbilaran, Bohol Motor tricycles for hire lined up outside public market in downtown Bantayan, Cebu Motorized tricycles, or simply tricycles (known in the rest of the world as a motorcycle and sidecar), are an indigenous form of the auto rickshaw and are a common means of public or private transportation in the Philippines. These public utility vehicles either ply a set route or are for-hire, like taxis. Bakharla gham is well-connected by air, sea, rail and road to the various cities across the India via Porbandar City. Sea routes to Porbandar's ancient port are well defined and managed by Gujarat Maritime Board. Bakharla can also be accessed by Rail using Indian Railways and disembarking at Porbandar railway station and continuing the onwards journey by auto-rickshaw, taxi or bus. The gham also has excellent road links and can be accessed from a number of different road routes, though for practical reasons it is served very well by the Indian State Highway 95, a tarmac single carriageway road from Porbandar City which is shared with a variety of different modes of transport including bus services operated by Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation.

The restored version of Karnan which utilised DTS 5.1 surround sound, was released in 72 screens across Tamil Nadu, and was released by Shanthi's Divya Films. It was well received upon release, although M. Suganth called the restoration process "far from perfect", and Baradwaj Rangan wrote, "The print occasionally judders, leaving the impression of watching the movie on a screen mounted behind the driver's seat in an auto rickshaw". Taking a big opening, the film collected roughly in Chennai within the first few weeks, and was later reported to have collected a total of . It had a theatrical run of over 100 days, and having surpassed what it originally managed to collect in its entire 105-day run at Shanthi theatre, the film was officially declared a commercial success.

Ponniah applied for a passenger bus licence to run services on fixed routes between Brighton Marina, central Brighton and central Hove. Brighton and Hove City Council granted the company a licence to operate in October 2005; it was the first licensed auto rickshaw service established outside Asia. After a formal launch at Brighton Racecourse on 6 July 2006, the vehicles began running later that month for the summer season, charging a flat rate of £2.50 for any journey between Brighton railway station, Hove and Brighton Marina. In the same month, Ponniah stated that he intended to import another 12 vehicles in order to start similar operations in London and elsewhere in the United Kingdom: Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh were planned to follow London, where services were expected to start in May 2007.

His anger increases when his daughter has been arrested for staging a protest, during the time he meets his friends every evening inside the vacant shop and they bond every night over a few drinks. Bhujanga sees a prostitute Susheela (Priyamani) and wants to bond with her, however despite his intentions Bhujanga gets scared fearing that his reputation will be tarnished. During one such evening, Shiva (Satyadev Kancharana / Aravind Kuplikar) an auto rickshaw driver and a friend of Rajeeva brings the prostitute and locks her along with Bhujanga inside the vacant shop promising to unlock the shop shutter after they spend some time together inside the locked shop. Meanwhile, Shiva meets one of his passengers, a film director (Prudhviraj / Achyuth Kumar), who had forgotten his bag in Shiva's autorickshaw that morning.

Formerly known as Lady Willingdon Road and starting from the Jadavpur P.S. at its north end, it traverses about four kilometers to Garia through many important landmarks like the Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute, Jadavpur University, Indian Association of Cultivation of Science, Indian Institute of Chemical Biology and KPC Medical College & Hospital. The intersection of Raja SC Mullick Road and Central Road is a very busy place with the 8B bus stand, numerous shops, restaurants, Jadavpur Railway Station, Auto Rickshaw stands and Government Offices in its vicinity. Residents say that the entire 4-kilometer stretch is a commuters’ nightmare. The situation is worse at four points — at the EM Bypass crossing opposite the route 45 bus terminus, a complete nightmare at Jadavpur 8B bus terminus, then at Bagha Jatin, and finally at the four-point crossing in Garia.

From several years, many official committees by a variety of Government departments were commissioned to examine issues related to technology, route alignment, and Governmental jurisdiction. On 17 October 2014 the project of developing a rapid transit metro rail system in Gwalior was announced by current state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. While extensive technical studies and the raising of finance for the project are in progress, the city expanded significantly resulting in a 15.2174% increase in population between 2014 and 2020. Consequently, traffic congestion and pollution soared, as an increasing number of commuters took to private vehicles as there was no proper transportation system in the city other than Auto rickshaw,this merely compounded the problem with inexperienced operators plying poorly maintained, noisy and polluting buses on lengthy routes, resulting in long waiting times, unreliable service, extreme overcrowding, unqualified drivers, speeding and reckless driving which even led to road accidents.

A Dalit youth was attacked on 14 May by some men from the Gounder caste when he was pasting posters to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. On 15 May, a group of Dalit youth who traveled with a group of Gounder men in an auto rickshaw were allegedly verbally abused them in derogatory words because the Dalit youth were enjoying themselves in front of the upper caste men and slapped one of them after getting out of the rickshaw. The Dalit youth who went to the Kovilpalayam Police to complaint about the incident but the police men took no action and allegedly told the youth to leave out statements mentioning the use of derogatory language by the attackers but when the Dalit youth included everything in the complaint, the police did not register the complaint. Although, this incident was believed to be the immediate cause for the assault, the underlying cause is assumed to be the growing fear of the development of Dalits in the village due to the active position played by certain Dalit organisations.

Kaale finds it funny at first and points out the clever act Nikhil made, but when the officer reprimands Nikhil and himself, Kaale visits Nikhil's mother (Reema Lagoo) where she tells him that Nikhil had the qualities of his father, Kaale's colleague Arvind, and that Nikhil was raised by Kaale like his own son. Nikhil, it is shown, attends a disco bar, where Kaale calls him up to discuss matters concerning the "Ungli" gang. Nikhil begins searching for altruistic opportunities to earn the "Ungli" gang great fame, once by blowing up the roads in front of a minister's house and accusing politicians and PWD workers of torturing the people by lavishly spending money on renovation of roads directly linked to houses and offices of politicians and corporates alone, another instance by putting up a label of dishonesty on the auto-rickshaw drivers by accusing them of charging high rates and showing reluctance when asked to drive to places close by. Finding him adamant, Maya suggests that Nikhil too has wishes to join the gang, and on certain terms and conditions, the four friends admit Nikhil, and narrate the story behind the gang's formation.
