Charirongba gave his daughter, Chakpa Makhao Ngambi, in marriage to the then Burmese King who constructed several laishangs/ temples for Meitei deities such as Panthoibi, Sanamahi, today converted into Buddhist temples. Apparently immediately after he withdrew, Tuyuhun forces again attacked Liang Prefecture (涼州, roughly modern Wuwei, Gansu). In 634 the Tibetans asked the Chinese for a Chinese princess to marry their king. When they discovered that the Tuyuhun had an envoy in the capital at the same time also asking for the hand of a Chinese princess, they attacked the Tuyuhun forcing its king to flee. After further struggles between the Chinese and Tibetans, the Chinese finally agreed to send a princess to the Tibetan Emperor.

The Shia believe that the decision of Ali to marry Fatimah was a perfect union decreed by God in the seventh heaven and given to the angel Gabriel (Jibral) to transmit directly to Ali. It is also believed, that due to their sinless and infallible nature, there were never any arguments or differences between Ali and Fatimah, and believe that Ali never sought the hand of Amr ibn Hishām daughter in marriage, as that would, by definition make him fallible, as asking for the hand of marriage to an idol worshipper is a sin. They also believe that Muhammad did not grant him the title Abu Turab in displeasure, but rather from his delight at the battle of al-Ashira.
