Y. intermedius and Y. mayrianum, are each known from only a few fossils, Y. intermedius from only a single Bitterfeld amber fossil while Y. mayrianum is known from a Baltic amber and a Rovno amber fossil.

The color of the amber ranges from clear yellows and yellow oranges through opaque yellows and reds. The amber is noted to be brittle and friable, with specimens noted to crack and craze. Deep-red amber specimens are also noted to form deep needle-like cracks. A series of tests on ambers, including New Jersey amber, was published in 2012 by Bisulca et al.

The paratype male, (CGC, no. 3306) was part of the Carsten Gröhn private collection as CGC no.3306, and subsequently deposited in the Geological-Paleontological Institute and Museum at the University of Hamburg as specimen GPIH, no. 4507. The fossil was first described by the Russian paleomyrmecologist Gennady Dlussky in a paper on the ant subfamilies Ponerinae, Cerapachyinae, and Pseudomyrmecinae in European Eocene ambers.

When described Pachycondyla succinea was known only from three queen fossils which were fossilized as inclusions in transparent chunks of Baltic amber which are now presumed lost. Additional queens have since been found in Baltic, Rovno, and Scandinavian amber. Males were later identified from Baltic and Bitterfeld ambers. Baltic amber is approximately forty six million years old, having been deposited during Lutetian stage of the Middle Eocene.

One of the greatest driving forces on the playing side of the club has been Des Seabrook.

The oldest fossil currently known is an indeterminate fossil from the Early Eocene (Ypresian) Klondike Mountain Formation of Washington State, USA. Other fossil species are known from Dominican and Baltic ambers, the Florissant Formation and various other localities in Germany, France and Spain. Bryopompilus described from the mid Cretaceous Burmese amber was initially thought to belong to this family, however it was subsequently placed in its own family, the Bryopompilidae.

Dinoderus brevis Bostrychoplites cornutus has large, distinctive thoracic horns, and is found in parts of Africa and Arabia; it is often imported to Europe as larvae in African wooden bowls ("ethnic souvenirs") . The fossil record of the family extends to the Cretaceous, with the oldest records being from the Cenomanian aged Charentese and Burmese ambers, belonging to the extant genus Stephanopachys and the extant subfamilies Dinoderinae and Polycaoninae.

Later, she was for 15 years the wife of the son of the writer I. A. Belousov, Yevgeny (1907-1977). At the end of April 1941, F. A. Dobrov dies, whom Andreev considered his adoptive father. During the Great Patriotic War, Andreev worked on the poems "Ambers" (1942) and The Germans (not completed), completing the cycle of poems Catacombs (1928–1941). In July 1942, E. M. Dobrova died.

His winning record throughout his early career was remarkable. Weill began managing boxers at the Harlem Sporting Club. The first professional boxer he managed was New York State featherweight champion Charlie Pilkington. Over the course of his career, he managed four world champions Rocky Marciano, Marty Servo, Lou Ambers, Joey Archibald and several other boxers. In 1930, Weill and his business partner Dick Gray arrived in New London, Connecticut and established the Thames Arena, where Weill began making a promoting matches.

Pristomyrmex rasnitsyni is known from a solitary fossil, the holotype, specimen number 1.ii.1969, which is currently in the collections of the University of Copenhagen. The fossil is composed of a mostly complete adult worker which has been preserved as an inclusion in a transparent chunk of Scandinavian amber, also called Danish amber. Scandinavian amber is thought to be similar in age to Baltic, Bitterfeld and Rovno ambers, being approximately late Eocene in age.

His managers included Benny Woodhall, Frank Bachman, Hymie Kaplan, and Willie Ketchum and his trainer was Charley Rose. His punching power was legendary, and so was his drinking, carousing, and penchant for high-speed motorcycles. Haidomyrmecinae, occasionally called Hell ants, are an extinct subfamily of ants in family Formicidae known from a series of Cretaceous fossils found in ambers of North America, Europe, and Asia. The subfamily was first proposed in 2003, but had been subsequently treated as the tribe Haidomyrmecini and placed in the extinct ant subfamily Sphecomyrminae. Reevaluation of Haidomyrmecini in 2020 lead to the elevation of the group back to subfamily. The family contains the nine genera and thirteen species.

As with other ambers, a wide variety of taxa have been found as inclusions including insects and other arthropods, as well as plant fragments and epiphyllous fungi.

Henry Armstrong was the first man to hold three titles in three divisions simultaneously. He won the featherweight world title from Petey Sarron on October 29, 1937, the welterweight world title from Barney Ross on May 31, 1938, and the lightweight world title in his next fight, on August 17 against Lou Ambers. Armstrong then immediately vacated the featherweight world title because he could no longer make the weight. Wilfred Benítez was the youngest ever champion at any weight.

This was despite losing the last three games of the season. The 1920–21 season looked like it would go the same way, with Mansfield winning 10 out of the first 12 games of the season. Evans won a Welsh Secondary Schools cap while at Rhymney Secondary School, and after leaving school joined the Monmouthsire Police. In 1943 he joined the Royal Air Force and played rugby for several unit teams. After he was demobbed, he rejoined the police force and was elected captain of his local rugby club at Rhymney. He was invited to play for Newport against Swansea in 1945 in a game at St Helens, and joined the black and ambers that season.

Davis had lost many of his fans when he was arrested for assault of a man in a candy store a few months before, requiring him to pay bail.

Plumalexius rasnitsyni Sphecomyrma mesaki The organisms preserved in New Jersey amber are diverse, with fungus, plant, and animal inclusions having been described. Fungi are represented by a single described Agaricales species. Plant fossils are also sparse, with conifer shoots from a Cupressaceae member, plus several undescribed flowers from a fagalean angiosperm. Of the inclusions found in Sayreville ambers, 34% are identified as dipterans, while a 2001 paper notes that up to 20% of the inclusions found in New Jersey amber are of coccoid true bugs.

The ages of the two ambers differ, with the most common age for Baltic amber being Lutetian, slightly older than the Rovno amber, though both are redistributed into younger sediments and so the absolute age is uncertain. Both the Baltic amber nymphs were originally figured in earlier publications as other taxa. One was first pictured in 1998 labeled as a third instar nymph. The other specimen was first illustrated in 1856 as a third instar nymph of "Pseudophana reticulata", a species now placed in the genus Protepiptera.

Individuals of Bradoponera species have been found as inclusions in two different Middle Eocene to Early Oligocene amber deposits in Europe. The species B. electrina and B. wunderlichi are known from Baltic amber, while B. similis is known from Bitterfield amber only. The type species B. meieri is the most wide spread of the four species, with individuals identified from Baltic, Bitterfeld and Rovno ambers. Baltic amber is approximately 46 million years old, having been deposited during the Lutetian stage of the Middle Eocene.

When Ordralfabetix sirophatanis was described, it was one of three hundred identified arthropod species that have been found in the Oise ambers. Of the three hundred arthropod species, seven planthopper families are represented: Achilidae, Dictyopharidae, Lophopidae, Ricaniidae, Nogodinidae, and Tropiduchidae plus another family which has not been formally described. O. sirophatanis was the second Lophopidae species to be described from the fossil record of Europe. The first species Baninus thuringiorum was described by Szwedo and Wappler in 2006 from specimens found in the Messel fossil site.

Brew began his professional rugby career at Newport RFC, signing for the Black and Ambers when he was still only 19. The Hkamti site is located ca. 90 km southwest of the Angbamo site and predominantly consists of limestone, interbedded with mudstone and tuff, the amber is found within the unconsolidated mudstone/tuff layers. A crinoid was found attached to one amber specimen, alongside marine plant remains in the surrounding sediment, indicating deposition in a shallow marine setting. The amber is generally red- brown, and yellow colouration is rare, the amber is generally found as angular clasts, indicating short transport distance and is more brittle than other northern Myanmar ambers.

Trusted was educated at The Maynard School, Exeter and left in 1973. She gained her BA and MA at the University of Cambridge followed by her PhD at the Courtauld Institute of Art. Trusted joined the Victoria and Albert Museum in 1979 where she worked on British and Spanish sculpture as well as extensively on European decorative arts in the V&A; collection such as ambers, ivories, and medals. Hymenaea protera is an extinct prehistoric leguminous tree, the probable ancestor of present-day Hymenaea species. Most neotropical ambers come from its fossilized resin, including the famous Dominican amber. H. protera once grew in an extensive range stretching from southern Mexico down to the Proto- greater Antilles, across northern South America, and on to the African continent. Both morphology and DNA studies have revealed that H. protera was more closely related to the only species of Hymenaea remaining in East Africa than to the more numerous American species.

In 1890, Graf formed a stock company and erected the first large, modern lager brewery in Mexico. One year later, the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame was founded as a non-profit, educational institution. The first induction ceremony and banquet was a star-studded event, as the Hall of Fame honored Lou Ambers, Eddie Arcaro, Charlie Trippi, Gino Marchetti, Dom DiMaggio and “The Yankee Clipper,” Joe DiMaggio. Mrs. Vince Lombardi also accepted the posthumous induction of her late husband, Coach Vince Lombardi. Brownimecia is an extinct genus of ants, the only genus in the tribe Brownimeciini and subfamily Brownimeciinae of the Formicidae. Fossils of the single identified species, Brownimecia clavata, are known from the Middle Cretaceous of North America. The genus is one of several ants described from Middle Cretaceous ambers of New Jersey. Brownimecia was initially placed in the subfamily Ponerinae, until it was transferred to its own subfamily in 2003; it can be distinguished from other ants due to its unusual sickle-like mandibles and other morphological features that makes this ant unique among the Formicidae.

The four amber faunas have been shown to share 17 ant species in common, which make up over 80% of the specimens in amber collections studied for a 2009 paper. Though a large portion of specimens from Scandinavian amber are of species found in the other ambers, the overall fauna found is notably different from the other three. About twenty-four genera with thirty-five species of ants have been identified as inclusions in Scandinavian amber. The fossil was first studied by paleoentomologists Gennady M. Dlussky of the Moscow State University and A. D. Radchenko of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

He defeated Cocoa Kid twice, he beat and had a draw with Wesley Ramey and scored a decision over Paris Apice. In his following 6 fights, Arizmendi won five and had a ten round draw against reigning world lightweight champion Lou Ambers on June 7, 1938 in Los Angeles.

Microberotha can be distinguished from other berothids by the combination of an unbranched "Rs" vein and lack of an outer gradate series of crossveins in the forewings. With a forewing length of only , M. macculloughi is one of the smallest known members of Berothidae to have been described. The smallest living species, Manselliberotha neuropterologorum, has a minimum forewing length of , while some species from the New Jersey ambers are smaller at a minimum of . The terminal segments of the abdomen on the holotype, necessary in determining subfamily placement, are not visible given the angles of view available through the amber.

A fourth species, "E." sulcatus and fifth, E. neovenatus, were described by Antonio Aguiar and Jens- Wilhelm Janzen 1999, and a sixth species. E. janzeni, was described in 2005. The original type specimens for E. petiolatus, "E." tridentatus and "E." brevicornis were part of the Albertus Universität, Königsberg collection of ambers, and all were possibly lost to fire during the bombing of Kaliningrad in World War II. Based on the structure of the petiole and abdomen in "E.". sulcatus and the suggestion that E. petiolatus had the same morphology, Electrostephanus was designated a junior synonym of Denaeostephanus in 2004.

Fruit beer is beer made with fruit added as an adjunct or flavouring. Lambics, beers originating in the valley of the Zenne (in an around Brussels) Belgium, though copied by brewers in other parts of the world, may be refermented with cherries to make kriek, or fermented with raspberries to make framboise. All kind of Lambic beers, topfermentation beers such as Belgian Golden Ales, Belgian Ambers and Flemish old brown beers usually go through a multiple stage fermentation process. After the first fermentation of the wort, sugar is added and the beer is refermented, on wooden casks.

The victory was Jenkin's ninth straight with six by knockouts. Jenkins sudden rise to prominence as a serious World Lightweight contender was not unprecedented, as he had been fighting professionally at least five years, but the quality of his opposition had increased dramatically in the last two years as many newspapers noted. When he defeated Tippy Larkin in a first-round knockout at Madison Square Garden on March 8, 1940, he was finally scheduled for a World Lightweight Title bout with reigning champion Lou Ambers. In the impressive win over Larkin, Jenkins started cautiously, then flicked a few straight lefts.

In addition to matches against all the major national sides a highlight of the Newport season was the annual match against the Barbarians, ensuring that the Newport fans enjoyed watching world-class players to supplement the Welsh internationals who were a common feature of the 'Black and Ambers'. Newport supplied over 150 players to the Wales national team and international players to England, Scotland, Ireland, South Africa, Czech Republic, Canada and Fiji as well as over 80 Barbarians. Following the regionalisation of Welsh rugby in 2003, Newport RFC are now a feeder club to the Dragons regional team.

Though a large portion of specimens from Scandinavian amber are of species found in the other ambers, the overall fauna found is notably different from the other three. About twenty-four genera with thirty-five species of ants have been identified as inclusions in Scandinavian amber. The fossils were first studied by paleoentomologists Gennady M. Dlussky of the Moscow State University, Alexander Radchenko of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Dmitry Dubovikoff of the Saint Petersburg State University. Their 2014 type description of the new genus and species was published in the journal Acta Palaeontologica Polonica.

The expedition recovered amber from the beaches of the Okhotsk Sea at the mouth of the Naiba River and upstream on the banks of the river eroding out of exposures of Naibuchi Formation strata. One additional fossil has been reported from Bitterfeld amber, and has been listed by Dlussky and Rasnitsyn 2009 as undescribed. Sakhalin amber is noted for having undergone high temperatures and pressures after the resin was buried. As a result, insects and other inclusions in the amber are not as well preserved as those of other amber locations, even those of older ambers.

Bitterfeld amber was previously believed to be only 20–22 million years old (Miocene), but a comparison of the animal inclusions in 2003 suggested that it was possibly Baltic amber that was redeposited in a Miocene deposit. Further study of insect taxa in the ambers has shown Bitterfeld amber to be from the same forest as the Baltic amber forest, but separately deposited from a more southerly section, in a similar manner as Rovno amber. Other sources of Baltic amber have been listed as coming from Poland and Russia. Because Baltic amber contains from 3 to 8% succinic acid, it is also termed succinite.

The type specimens are deposited in the Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology with the genus being described from a total of seven adult spiders. Eoplectreurys was first studied and described by Drs Paul Selden and Diying Huang, who published their type description in the journal Naturwissenschaften in 2010. The genus name is a combination of the Greek word eos, which means "dawn", and Plectreurys the name of the modern genus which the fossils closely resemble. Eoplectreurys is considered the oldest described spider genus of the Haplogynae series, predating the described Haplogynae spiders from Cretaceous ambers in Jordan and Lebanon, and is the oldest member of Plectreuridae.

N. pygmaea is known primarily by winged males and females, a situation also seen in sevreral Ponerinae species in Baltic, Bitterfeld, and Scandinavian ambers. Modern Nylanderia and the ponerinae species from Gnamptogenys, Hypoponera, Pachycondyla, Ponera, and Proceratium are all ground dwelling and nesting species, whose workers rarely climb high into trees. Due to this, the workers of the amber forest species would not often come into contact with fresh resin to be entombed. However, in all of the genera, the winged queens and males would climb plants and trees surrounding the nests during the nuptial flight increasing greatly the contact with fresh resin and entrapment.

In the late 1970s, Revlon also made history when it created their line of cosmetics, specifically for women of color, called "The Polished Ambers Collection" and selected fashion model icon, Iman, to be featured in the advertising campaigns. Revlon was also noted for featuring models of a wide age range in the 1980s, including then 13-year-old Milla Jovovich and then 60-year-old Audrey Hepburn.

Unless situations require altering the schedule (inclement weather), the cars take part in one pass per car, using the Christmas tree. This pass uses the Pro Tree (all three ambers light at the same time, then the green four-tenths later) instead of the Standard Tree used by the sportsman drivers that participate in the show (each amber five-tenths after the other), and with the track clocks running and scoreboards displaying time. At the end of the session, the show officials then determine the most competitive field (not necessarily the fastest) by finding a grouping of cars whose race time are very close together.

As a result insects and other inclusions in the amber are not as well preserved as those of other amber locations, even those of older ambers. The inclusions are most of the time carbonized reducing fine detail preservation, and the amber has been subjected to plastic deformation changing the shapes and features of the inclusions. The distortion is visible in the outlines of trapped air bubbles, which are elongated along the plane of distortion, rather than spherical as seen with bubbles in Eocene Baltic amber and Cretaceous Taymyr amber. In some cases the inclusions are at least partially filled with amber rather than being hollow.

Al Silvani (March 26, 1910 – January 10, 1996) was an American boxing trainer and actor. As one of the most sought-after trainers in the business, Silvani trained over twenty world champions, including Jake LaMotta, Henry Armstrong, Carmen Basilio, Fritzie Zivic, Pone Kingpetch, Rocky Graziano, Ingemar Johansson, and Lou Ambers. He also had a lengthy career in the film industry as an actor, stunt man, and as a technical advisor—most noteworthy a lead role in Robin and the Seven Hoods. He also appeared in From Here to Eternity, Ocean's Eleven, Stir Crazy, Every Which Way But Loose, The Gauntlet, Rocky, Rocky II and Rocky III.

Insects, spiders and even their webs, annelids, frogs, crustaceans, bacteria and amoebae, marine microfossils, wood, flowers and fruit, hair, feathers and other small organisms have been recovered in Cretaceous ambers (deposited c. ). The preservation of prehistoric organisms in amber forms a key plot point in Michael Crichton's 1990 novel Jurassic Park and the 1993 movie adaptation by Steven Spielberg. In the story, scientists are able to extract the preserved blood of dinosaurs from prehistoric mosquitoes trapped in amber, from which they genetically clone living dinosaurs.

The placement was unchanged until 1995 when Euponera was synonymized with Pachycondyla by Barry Bolton. Pachycondyla was split into a number of genera in 2014 with most of the extant species being placed into other genera, but a series of fossil species including P. succinea were not moved. Schmidt and Shattuck in the revision of the genus noted that many of the fossil species were not moved due to specimens not being examined by them, and that the placement of the species was "undoubtedly incorrect". Males of the species were first formally described in 2009, based on specimens preserved in Baltic and Bitterfeld ambers.

U. mirabilis is known from two isolated fossils, the holotype and paratype, both of which were housed in the collections of the Zoological Museum of the University of Copenhagen. The fossils are of two complete adult males which have been preserved as inclusions in transparent chunks of Scandinavian amber, also known as Danish amber, found in Denmark. Scandinavian amber is thought to be similar in age to Baltic, Bitterfeld and Rovno ambers, being approximately late Eocene in age. The four amber faunas have been shown to share 17 ant species in common, which make up over 80% of the specimens in amber collections studied for a 2009 paper.

In 2019, members of the Ma'amtagila partnered with the University of Victoria to build a Little Big House. The construction of the Little Big House is part of an assertion of Indigenous sovereignty spear-headed by Ma’amtagila matriarch Tsastilqualus Ambers Umbas, in coordination with broader Kwakwaka'wakw hereditary leadership. Tsastilqualus and other members of the Matriarch Camp intend to return home to their lands and waters near Hiladi, “the place to make things right,” to affirm their Indigenous title and rights and uphold hereditary systems of governance. According to the group's website: > The portable Little Big House will enable Tsastilqualus, her son Dakota, > their kin, and other Indigenous people to spend time on the land and water.

Alicodoxa is known from several fossil specimens of third and fourth instar nymphs. The holotype nymph was first identified from an inclusion in a transparent chunk of Rovno amber found in Ukraine, and two other nymphs have been found in Baltic amber, the genus being one of a number of arthropods shared between the two amber deposits. The Rovno amber inclusion was recovered from amber mining operations in the Klesov area working Late Eocene sediments of the Mezhigorje Formation and underlying Obukhov Formation which cover granite basement rock of the area. Baltic amber has very similar chemical and physical properties to Rovno amber, both ambers possibly being produced by the same forest.

In '53 Bishop were runners-up to Crook Town in the league but added the title another three times over the next three seasons ('54, '55 and '56), with Crook Town being runners-up on each occasion. Leeds St John's was formed in 1870 and was originally known as the "Old Blue and Ambers". The club played at the Militia Barracks from 1870 to 1888 before moving to Cardigan Fields, near Headingley, Leeds. Membership was originally confined to the church classes but was soon expanded. By 1887 St John's had reached its first cup final, the Yorkshire Cup losing to Wakefield Trinity. The city of Leeds had an abundance of rugby football clubs and although members of the Yorkshire RFU (which was in turn a constituent body of the RFU), it was decided to form a ‘more local’ association. It was for this reason that the Leeds & District organisation was formalised when a meeting took place at the Green Dragon Hotel, Leeds on 27 September 1888.

In 1916, the Arrolamento dos Bens da Freguesia de Pinhel referred to the many vestiges and artefacts, that included a marble crucifix, a new baptistry, a gold-gilded cabinet and three reliquaries, as well images of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Our Lady of the Encounter, Immaculate Conception (in the hospital chapel), St. Anthony, St. Claire and Saviour (in the Church of Santa Maria), St. Agnes of Rome (from the 17th century) and three bells. Extinct hopper Alicodoxa rasnitsyni nymph There are a number of arthropod taxa, ranging from planthoppers, such as Alicodoxa, and ants to mites and spiders that are shared between Rovno and Baltic amber. As of 2016 there were 193 ant species described from Priabonian age European ambers, with all but 56 of the species being found in or described originally from Baltic amber, while Rovno amber hosts 31 of the 56 species that are not known from Baltic amber. Based on the differences in ant fauna between Baltic amber and Rovno amber, it has been suggested by Perkovsky that the two were different areas of a large forest that covered Late Eocene to early Oligocene Europe. The spiders of Rovno amber are similar to Baltic amber ones, but there is a notable percentage that are unique species not shared between the two.

Granite insets, designed in consultation with the local Māori (Ngati Whatua iwi), as well as recycled redchip pavers from the existing footpath, were used to denote special areas – such as those related to the existence of the old Waihorotiu Stream.
