Inori is a meditative work. The word inori (祈り) in Japanese means "prayer, invocation, adoration" .

"Adorations" is Killing Joke's first single from their sixth studio album, Brighter than a Thousand Suns, released in August 1986. All of the releases were mixed by Julian Mendelsohn and Zeus B. Held, and produced by Chris Kimsey and Stewart Levine. The single was accompanied by a music video of the band performing the song in a cathedral.

Guy Ballard spoke under the pseudonym he used in authoring his books, Godfre Ray King, and his wife used the pseudonym Lotus. The meeting included teachings they described as being received directly from the Ascended Masters. In 2010 Vincent joined the French Rock band Devianz in studio to sing and write strings arrangements for a song of their second album. This term can be used in reference to the Arabic culture before the arrival of Islam. Before the Islamic conversion a portion of the Arab tribes were nomadic, with a strong community spirit and some specific society rules. Their culture was patriarchal, with rudimentary religious beliefs. "Corporate Elect", the fifth track on the album, is about the greed in the business world whose rules are defined by the top corporations. The seventh track, "Primobile", is a self-referential piece about the band's members internal interactions. Both "Primobile" and "Corporate Elect" are in the industrial endeavor of reuniting a more direct punk and metal crossover. The lead single and sixth track of the album, "In Cythera" is an optimistic synthpop-influenced song reminiscent of "Adorations" and the band's sound in the mid-1980s.

Similarly found in later Antwerp Adorations, Dürer constructs the composition with a fusion of stylistic inclusivity combining northern naturalism with Italianate use of perspective, ideal proportions and colour. Among the earliest known members of the family, Paêse, describes himself in a late second-century adorational text as holding the Nubian titles of qorene and perite ("agent") of the Egyptian goddess Isis. These titles appear to have referred to religious officials who served a central governing body made up of the senior clergy of the Dodekaschoinos, and were not reserved to only devotees of Isis herself. Reflecting his ethnic background, Paêse's adorations were typical of those inscribed by Nubian pilgrims to Egyptian temples, but not of ethnic Egyptians themselves. The rejection of moralism and censorship has been central since Gateavisas founding. The publication has consistently been opposed to drug prohibition and any form of kink-shaming and oppression of sexual minorities, as well as capital, power and naturally, the police. Gateavisa has always advocated in favour of prostitutes, S&M;, porn actors (but against their exploitation) and pornography. On one occasion Satrajit, a Yadava nobleman, and a devotee of Surya, the Sun God, was walking along the sea shore, praying ardently, when the god himself appeared before him. Seeing the god in an indistinct and dazzling fiery shape, Satrájit asked him to appear in a less blinding form, so that he could see him clearly. For this, the Sun God took the Syamantaka jewel off his neck, and Satrájit saw him of a dwarfish stature, with a body like burnished copper, and with slightly reddish eyes. Having offered his adorations, the Sun God offered him a boon, and he asked for the jewel.

While no dogma within Thelema expresses the purpose behind any individual aspirant who chooses to perform "Resh", note that the practice of "Resh" is not a simple petition toward the sun, nor a form of "worshiping" the celestial body that we call the Sun, but instead uses the positioning of that source of light, which enables life on our planet, as well as using mythological images of that solar force, so that the individual can perform the prayer, possibly furthering a self-identification with the sun, so "that repeated application of the Liber Resh adorations expands the consciousness of the individual by compelling him to take a different perspective, by inducing him to 'look at things from the point of view of the Sun' [...]".

This idealistic utopia was to be the model of Crowley's commune, while also being a type of magical school, giving it the designation "Collegium ad Spiritum Sanctum", A College towards the Holy Spirit. The general program was in line with the A∴A∴ course of training, and included daily adorations to the sun, a study of Crowley's writings, regular yogic and ritual practices (which were to be recorded), as well as general domestic labor. The object was for students to devote themselves to the Great Work of discovering and manifesting their True Will. Crowley had planned to transform the small house into a global center of magical devotion and perhaps to gain tuition fees paid by acolytes seeking training in the Magical Arts; these fees would further assist him in his efforts to promulgate Thelema and publish his manuscripts.

He was assigned to the Baderna parish in the fall of 1943 where the Communist and Fascist forces fought with each other but was later transferred to the parish of Kanfanar in the autumn of 1945. He was considered to be bold and fearless but was perceived as a great threat and he alluded to this in 1944 in his journal. Bulešić's interventions in parish life made church events more attractive to people and he introduced adorations to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and His mother in the parish; he encouraged parishioners to recite rosaries together and to receive the sacraments on a frequent basis more so for the children. But the Communists wanted to prevent the faithful from attending Masses and so introduced civil weddings and funerals but people still continued to attend the Masses and listen to their popular priest's homilies.

In their visions, these mystics would enter into the celestial realms and journey through the seven stages of mystical ascent: the Seven Heavens and seven throne rooms. Such a journey is fraught with great danger, and the adept must not only have made elaborate purification preparation, but must also know the proper incantations, seals and angelic names needed to get past the fierce angelic guards, as well as know how to navigate the various forces at work inside and outside the palaces. This heavenly ascent is accomplished by the recital of hymns, as well as the theurgic use of secret names of God which abound in the Hekhalot literature. The Hekalot Zutarti in particular is concerned with the secret names of God and their powers: At times, heavenly interlocutors will reveal divine secrets. In some texts, the mystic’s interest extends to the heavenly music and liturgy, usually connected with the angelic adorations mentioned in Isaiah 6:3.
