The club maintains the ABAC Crackerjack pulling tractor, an Allis Chalmers 190XT, built in the 1970s by former staff member Jimmy Grubbs. At ambient conditions, berkelium assumes its most stable α form which has a hexagonal symmetry, space group P63/mmc, lattice parameters of 341 pm and 1107 pm. The crystal has a double-hexagonal close packing structure with the layer sequence ABAC and so is isotypic (having a similar structure) with α-lanthanum and α-forms of actinides beyond curium. This crystal structure changes with pressure and temperature. When compressed at room temperature to 7 GPa, α-berkelium transforms to the beta modification, which has a face-centered cubic (fcc) symmetry and space group Fmm.

Role-based access control (RBAC) can also be implemented in XACML as a specialization of ABAC. The XACML model supports and encourages the separation of enforcement (PEP) from decision making (PDP) from management / definition (PAP) of the authorization. When access decisions are hard-coded within applications (or based on local machine userids and access control lists (ACLs)), it is very difficult to update the decision criteria when the governing policy changes and it is hard to achieve visibility or audits of the authorization in place. When the client is decoupled from the access decision, authorization policies can be updated on the fly and affect all clients immediately.

Beecham dugout was subsequently discovered less than from Tyne Cot Cemetery. It was made public in spring 2006 that the brickworks had received a licence for the extension of its blue-clay extraction zone. The Association for Battlefield Archaeology and Conservation, using maps compiled of 350 underground structures under the management of Belgian archaeologist Johan Vandewalle and British TV producer Peter Barton, showed that at least one structure was near to the proposed development zone, believed to be the Vampire dugout, which had been rediscovered in 2007. Following discussion with local preservation, historic, council and state officials, the ABAC was allowed to start a scientific research project.

Historically, access control models have included mandatory access control (MAC), discretionary access control (DAC), and more recently role-based access control (RBAC). These access control models are user-centric and do not take into account additional parameters such as resource information, the relationship between the user (the requesting entity) and the resource, and dynamic information e.g. time of the day or user IP. ABAC tries to address this by defining access control based on attributes which describe the requesting entity (the user), the targeted object or resource, the desired action (view, edit, delete...), and environmental or contextual information. This is why access control is said to be attribute-based.

The standard defines a declarative fine-grained, attribute-based access control policy language, an architecture, and a processing model describing how to evaluate access requests according to the rules defined in policies. As a published standard specification, one of the goals of XACML is to promote common terminology and interoperability between access control implementations by multiple vendors. XACML is primarily an attribute-based access control system (ABAC), also known as a policy-based access control (PBAC) system, where attributes (bits of data) associated with a user or action or resource are inputs into the decision of whether a given user may access a given resource in a particular way.

In 1986, IBM researchers Kottappuram M. A. Mohiuddin and Jorma Johannen Rissanen filed a patent for a multiplication-free binary arithmetic coding algorithm. In 1988, an IBM research team including R.B. Arps, T.K. Truong, D.J. Lu, W. B. Pennebaker, L. Mitchell and G. G. Langdon presented an adaptive binary arithmetic coding (ABAC) algorithm called Q-Coder. The above patents and research papers, along several others from IBM and Mitsubishi Electric, were later cited by the CCITT and Joint Photographic Experts Group as the basis for the JPEG image compression format's adaptive binary arithmetic coding algorithm in 1992. However, encoders and decoders of the JPEG file format, which has options for both Huffman encoding and arithmetic coding, typically only support the Huffman encoding option, which was originally because of patent concerns, although JPEG's arithmetic coding patents have since expired due to the age of the JPEG standard.

It consists of layers of hexagonal packed iron atoms, offset in a pattern ABAC; which means that even-numbered layers are vertically aligned, while the odd-numbered ones alternate between the two possible relative alignments. The c axis of the unit cell is 0.87 nm. Hydrogen atoms occupy octahedral cavities between the layers. The hydrogen layers come in vertically aligned pairs, bracketing the B and C layers and shifted like them. For each hydrogen added the unit cell expands by 1.8 Å3 (0.0018 nm3). This phase was denoted ε’, after the similar structure that iron assumes above 14 GPa. This phase is rapidly created at room temperature and 3.8 GPa from hydrogen and α-iron. The transformation entails an expansion by 17–20% in volume. The reaction is complex and may involve a metastable HCP intermediate form; at 9 GPa and 350 °C there are still noticeable amounts of unreacted α-Fe in the solid. The same form is obtained from by reacting hydrogen with the higher- pressure HCP form of iron (ε-Fe) at 1073 K and 20 GPa for 20 min; and also from α-iron and at 84 GPa and 1300 K. This phase is stable at room temperature at least up to 80 GPa, but turns into the γ form between 1073 and 1173 K and 20 GPa.
