Wyndham Halswelle (30 May 1882 – 31 March 1915) was a British athlete. He won the controversial 400 m race at the 1908 Summer Olympics, becoming the only athlete to win an Olympic title by a walkover. Halswelle was also an infantry officer who served in the Second Boer War and World War I. He was killed by a sniper at the Battle of Neuve Chapelle in 1915.
Under Gianni De Biasi he has primarily played as a right midfielder or right winger since 2014, and he has helped Albania qualify for its first major international tournament as they reached Euro 2016. He was also heavily involved in the infamous Serbia v Albania match on 14 October 2014, which resulted in the match being abandoned and Albania eventually being awarded a walkover victory over Serbia.

Semple played his club hurling with the local club in Thurles, the precursor to the famous Sarsfield's club. He rose through the club and served as captain of the team for almost a decade. The 1923 Meath Senior Football Championship was the 31st edition of the Meath GAA's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament, for the 3 clubs that were entered. The final was played in Kells with Rathkenny receiving a walkover from Navan Harps in the final, and thus claiming their 5th Senior title. This was a strange Championship, in that Rathkenny won the Championship playing only one game in the process.

His regular doubles partner was twin brother Bozhidar, who unlike his brother was a left-hander. As a combination they won a Bulgarian record five Davis Cup rubbers. Pampoulov and his brother were in the main draw of the doubles at the 1973 Wimbledon Championships but conceded a walkover.

In the Europe Zone final Yugoslavia defeated Germany.
Károly Radóczy (31 August 1885 - 18 July 1976) was a Hungarian athlete. He competed at the 1908 Summer Olympics in London and at the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm. In 1908 in the 200 metres, Radóczy advanced to the semifinals after a walkover win in the preliminary heats. In Radóczy's first actual race he clocked in at 22.8 seconds, 0.2 seconds behind Robert Kerr and 0.1 seconds behind William Hamilton.
Maher made his senior debut with Kilkenny during the 1893 championship campaign. He won his first Leinster medal that year as Kilkenny were granted a walkover by Dublin. Moylan played his club hurling with the famous Glen Rovers and enjoyed much success during a golden age for the club. In 1934 Moylan had joined the Glen Rovers senior hurling team that had qualified for only their second ever championship decider. A 3-2 to 0-6 defeat of four-in-a-row hopefuls St. Finbarr's gave Moylan a Cork Senior Hurling Championship medal. He added a second championship medal to his collection the following year when Carrigtwohill gave Glen Rovers a walkover in the championship decider. The Glen continued to dominated Cork hurling once again in 1936. In spite of having two players sent off, Moylan won a third successive championship medal following a decisive 7-5 to 4-2 defeat of Sarsfield's. Having been granted a walkover by the same opposition two years earlier, Glen Rovers faced Carrigtwohill in the county decider of 1937. The dominance continued and a 3-5 to 1-0 score line gave Moylan a fourth championship medal.

Yves Jeudy (born 5 May 1958) is a former boxer from Haiti, who competed in the lightweight (- 60 kg) division at the 1976 Summer Olympics. Jeudy lost his opening bout to Ace Rusevski of Yugoslavia in the quarter-finals after the referee stopped the contest in the second round. Previously, Jeudy received two byes and a walkover. Jeudy won a bronze medal at the 1974 Central American and Caribbean Games in the lightweight division.

In the 1948–49 International Christmas Tournament of Barcelona Cochet met Masip in the doubles final, where the Spanish team of Masip-Carles granted a walkover to Cochet and Australian Jack Harper. The inaugural Munster final between Cork and Clare was to be played on Wednesday 29 August 1888, however, the provincial showpiece ended in disarray. Clare champions Ogonelloe, who had received a walkover from South Liberties of Limerick in the semi-final, however, this was later disputed.
Tom Chaytor (1869 – 30 January 1951) was an Irish tennis player. Two of his brothers also played tennis, including 1890 Wimbledon quarter finalist David Grainger Chaytor. Tom played at Wimbledon once in 1894, where he beat Horace Chapman, Clement Cazalet and Ernest George Meers, before handing a walkover to Wilfred Baddeley in the semi finals (he couldn't play because of badly blistered feet). In 1894, Chaytor reached the final of the Irish Open, where he faced Joshua Pim.
Reile's opponent did not show up, so Reile won by a walkover. Reile also won her second amateur bout by defeating Vanessa Ramos. Although this was Reile's last fight as an amateur, Reile decided to delay becoming a pro boxer and instead honed her craft in the gym for the next four years. Just a few days before her pro debut in 2004, Reile traveled to American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida, to spar with Shelby Walker.
They defeated eighth seeds Will Coghlan and Colin Stubs in the opening round, in five sets. In the next round they had a walkover win over the Japanese pair, Jun Kamiwazumi and Toshiro Sakai. Their quarterfinal encounter with the number one seeds, William Bowrey and Ray Ruffels, proved too much and they exited in straight sets. Parole also won the Saratoga Cup, but more importantly he beat both Ten Broeck and Tom Ochiltree in the Baltimore Special at Pimlico Race Course on October 24, 1877. Both of these horses were considered the best horses in the West as well as the East. In 1877, Ten Broeck had won eight races in a row. One was a walkover since no one would enter against him, and two were races against time for the same reason.

The San Juan Cup had no new challengers for Don Paco every horse in the race he had previously defeated at least once the race was set up to be a walkover for Don Paco. At the start, El Negro Torres drifted in early sandwiching Don Paco in between him and Nube Negra. After that El Negro Torress took a clear lead opening up 4 lengths. But Salvaje quickly chased after him and the two fought for first-place early.
Following a first round bye, Federer came from a set down to defeat Joao Sousa. After receiving a walkover in the quarterfinals, Federer defeated fourth seed Kei Nishikori to reach his ninth singles final at the Halle Open. Federer successfully defended his title and won a record seventh Halle Open singles title, beating Alejandro Falla in the final in two tiebreak sets. It was Federer's 14th grass court title, extending his open era record, and his 79th career singles title.
Rex Williams lost just one frame in qualifying, securing a whitewash over Mike Darrington and then defeated Fred Davis 10–1. Mark Wildman won 10–7 against Bob Harris in the first round and qualified directly for the main draw. Wildman received a walkover as Jim Wych (who had received a bye into the second round) had not travelled from Canada for the match. Cliff Wilson faced Joe Johnson in the second round, a rematch of the 1978 World Amateur Snooker Championship final.
In the first round they beat Louth and they got a walkover from Laois in the Leinster final. This victory allowed Spain’s side advance directly to the All-Ireland final. Clare provided the opposition on that occasion and an exciting game followed. The Clare team, who played the game in their bare feet, took a half-time lead of 1-5 to 1-0. ‘The Dubs’ fought back in the second-half with Spain scoring a hat trick of goals as Clare collapsed.
Li Ting and Sun Tiantian were the defending champions, but decided not to defend their title together. Li played alongside Li Na, whereas Sun played alongside Hao Jie. Li & Li withdrew in the quarterfinals, and Hao & Sun lost in the first round to Julia Vorobieva & Yuan Meng. Maria Elena Camerin and Emmanuelle Gagliardi, having enjoyed a walkover for both the quarterfinals and the semifinals, then won the final, defeating Neha Uberoi and Shikha Uberoi, 7–6(7–5), 6–3.
Ebor (1814-1822) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and sire best known for winning the classic St Leger Stakes in 1817. Bred, trained and raced in Yorkshire, Ebor was lightly campaigned, running only six times in a three-year racing career which was confined to the meetings at York and Doncaster. He won four times, one of these being a walkover. His St Leger win (his only important success) saw him upset the favourite Blacklock in a dramatic and controversial finish.
The Bắc Ninh Campaign was a walkover for the French. Morale in the Chinese army was low, and Liu Yongfu was careful to keep his experienced Black Flags out of danger. Millot bypassed Chinese defences to the southwest of Bắc Ninh, and assaulted the city on 12 March from the southeast, with complete success. The Guangxi Army put up a feeble resistance, and the French took the city with ease, capturing large quantities of ammunition and a number of brand new Krupp cannon.
The Austrian lost in straight sets only showing resistance in the second. The final match should have been a showdown between Kitson and Sumarokov but lasted short. After Sumarokov scored the first set 6:3 Kitson got frustrated, complained to the chair umpire, grabbed his towel and left the court citing a right hand injury, which resulted in a walkover home victory. He became the undisputed champion after winning the doubles and mixed doubles as well with Count Salm and Ekaterina Hirschfeld respectively.

In the Goodwood Cup on 28 July Brown Jack and Ut Majeur (Cesarewitch) started 9/4 joint-favouites with Brulette, ridden by Gordon Richards, the 5/2 third choice in a five-runner field. Racing on very heavy ground Brulette won by four lengths from Brown Jack, with ten lengths back to Ut Majeur in third place. On 27 October at Newmarket Racecourse Brulette was allowed a walkover in the Jockey Club Cup when no horses appeared to oppose her.
In August 1904 he reached the challenge round of the German International Championships in Hamburg and was beaten once more by Ritchie, this time in straight sets. In July 1905 Von Wessely won the Franzensbad tournament, through a walkover in the final against his compatriot Rolf Kinzl, and the following Marienbad tournament. In September 1908 he won the singles title of the Championships of the Suisse Romande in Territet. In the final he defeated R. Norris Williams in three straight sets.
While coaching tennis at Belmont University, Baker began to feel his body gradually improving and decided to try again to make it as a professional tennis player in the summer of 2011. He subsequently entered an ITF Futures tournament in Pittsburgh in July 2011 as an unranked qualifier, qualified, and won the tournament, all without dropping a set. In September, he entered the Canadian Futures 7 and reached the semifinals, again without dropping a set. He lost in a walkover to Jesse Levine.
Hibernian became the first Scottish club to participate in that competition, in 1960. After a walkover victory against Swiss club Lausanne, Hibernian faced Spanish giants Barcelona in the quarter-final. The first leg in the Camp Nou ended in a 4–4 draw, after Hibernian had twice led by two goals. In the return leg at Easter Road, a late penalty kick by Bobby Kinloch gave Hibernian a 3–2 win on the night and a 7–6 victory on aggregate.

He later team up with Cheah Yee See where they reached the quarter-final of the Australian Open.
He was awarded a walkover in his first round match, defeating Tim De Ruyter 9–2 before losing 6–9 to Marco Dorenburg. In the loser's side, Feijen lost his next match to 14-year-old Dutch player Yannick Pongers 8–9. Three-time world champion Oliver Ortmann also failed to progress, despite defeating fourth seed Ralf Souquet 9–6. Ortmann lost to Ruslan Chinachov 8–9 in the winner's playoff and to Jacques Wollschlaeger 4–9 in the loser's playoff.
They lost there in four sets, the three which went against them all being tie-breaks, to Frederik Nielsen and Joe Salisbury. Even with that defeat, they remained the only pair in the whole competition not to have lost a service game. In the mixed doubles McLachlan teamed up with Eri Hozumi. As 14th seeds they had a bye in the first round, then had a walkover in the second, before losing to fourth seeds Jean- Julien Rojer and Demi Schuurs.
The 1974 Benson & Hedges British Open Championships was held at Abbeydale Park in Sheffield from 31 January - 8 February 1974. Geoff Hunt won his second title defeating Mo Yasin in the final with a walkover. Mohammed Yasin had to concede the final because of a badly sprained ankle and therefore did not compete, this was the first time a final could not be held since 1934. As a consolation the crowd was treated to Hunt against Barrington in an exhibition match.
The Argentine team with the trophies won at Casa Rosada, November 2016. Argentina's Davis Cup debut in 1921 started on the wrong foot with a walkover loss to Denmark in the first round. They played their first Davis Cup matches in 1923, losing 1–4 in the first round against Switzerland. After several years of toiling in the regional and preliminary rounds, led by Guillermo Vilas and José Luis Clerc, Argentina reached their first finals in 1981, losing to the United States.
In 1953 and 1956, he again won the Malaysia Open men's doubles titles with Ong. As a pair, they also won consecutive Singapore Open men's doubles titles from 1950 to 1956. Ismail's doubles partnership with Ong was described by Wong Peng Soon as "the best doubles combination" he had ever seen. In the 1951 French Open men's singles semi-final, Ismail gave Ong a walkover so that the latter would be better rested for his final match against Wong Peng Soon.
In 1948, a year after India won its independence, Ao was the captain of the India national football team in the 1948 Summer Olympics, in the team's first official game and was the flag- bearer of the Indian contingent. The Indian team's first match was against Burma, but the game was a walkover. In India's second match, against France, the team lost 2–1, with the India goal coming from Sarangapani Raman. Ao played five more matches for India before retiring.
St. Simon was prevented from running in the classics because the death of Prince Batthyany had invalidated his entries. His three-year-old career began with an unofficial trial race at Newmarket in which he was matched against the leading older horse Tristan at weight-for-age over one and a half miles at Newmarket. St. Simon won very easily by six lengths. St. Simon's first official race of the year was a walkover at the 10-furlong Epsom Gold Cup.
In 1919 she lost to Phyllis Satterthwaite, in 1922, she lost to Molla Mallory and the following year to Suzanne Lenglen. In 1920 she won the silver medal in the Olympics doubles competition with her partner Dorothy Holman. She also competed in the mixed doubles event with her husband Alfred, but they were eliminated in the second round. In the singles competition she had a walkover in the first round and was eliminated in the second round by her doubles partner Dorothy Holman.

Sharapova's run ended with a straight sets loss to world No. 3 Garbiñe Muguruza in the quarterfinals. Sharapova was set to play the Birmingham Classic but withdrew to fully recover ahead of Wimbledon. Sharapova played two exhibition matches, losing her debut to Greece's Maria Sakkari but defeating Natalia Vikhlyantseva.
As with other forms, illegal strikes may result in a point(s) deduction or even disqualification. Unlike Full-Contact and Low-Kick it is not necessary for the minimum six kicks per round to be counte. Victory can be achieved by a point's decision, technical knockout or knockout, abandonment (when one fighter gives up), disqualification or by a walkover (other fighter is unable to participate). If a fighter is knocked down three times in the fight he will automatically lose via technical knockout.
In the event of a draw the match will be scored electronically. Victory can be achieved by points decision, technical knockout (usually when one fighter is so dominant the referee is forced to stop the contest), abandonment (when one fighter gives up), disqualification or by a walkover (other fighter is unable to participate). More detail on Light- Contact rules can be found at the official W.A.K.O. website. Light-Contact uses slightly different weight classes from Low-Kick and K-1.
Ker entered politics through a walkover in Aljunied GRC in the 1991 General Election. In the 1997 General Election, the PAP team faced opponents from the SDP and won 67.02% of the votes. He was Minister of State (Sep-Dec 1991) and later Minister of State for Education (Jan 1992) and Information and the Arts (Jan 1992-Aug 1994). Ker was the chairman of the Aljunied Town Council (Feb 1995) and the Government Parliamentary Committees for Home Affairs and Law (Aug 1995–1996).
Mirza represented India at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. She was eliminated from singles when she retired in her match against Iveta Benešová because of a right wrist injury. For doubles, she got a walkover through the first round with Sunitha Rao, but lost in the second round to Russia. Throughout 2008, Mirza was plagued by a slew of wrist injuries, requiring her to withdraw from several matches including those of the French Open and US Open Grand Slams.

Lalor first came to prominence on the inter-county scene when he made his senior debut with Kilkenny in 1897. After receiving a walkover from Wexford in the provincial decider, Kilkenny later faced Limerick in the All-Ireland final on 20 November 1898. Kilkenny had yet to win the All-Ireland, however, they looked set for victory by taking a 2-4 to 1-1 half-time lead. Two Limerick goals early in the second-half changed the complexion of the game.
Woolf, who had previously won the Pimlico Special in 1938 on Seabiscuit and in 1940 on Challedon, rode the 1941 Triple Crown winner at a leisurely pace during the 1942 Pimlico Special in a walkover victory. No opponent had been found to challenge Whirlaway for the race. On December 12, more than twenty thousand people turned out to watch Whirlaway win the inaugural Louisiana Handicap at the Fair Grounds Race Course. The newly formed Thoroughbred Racing Association staged this event as a war-relief effort.
May Jacks was a British tennis player at the end of the nineteenth century. In 1890 she was the losing finalist in the Wimbledon Ladies Singles Championship, being defeated by Lena Rice 6–4, 6–1.Wimbledon Roll of Honour, Ladies Singles Finals Only four competitors entered, the smallest entry ever for any competition at Wimbledon. Under the system at that time, Rice should then have played the defending champion, Blanche Bingley, in the All Comers Final, but Bingley did not enter, so Rice had a walkover.
Kerber's winning streak came to an end in the hands of Samantha Stosur in the opening round in Madrid, which Kerber lost in three sets. At the Italian Open, Kerber made it to the second round after defeating Alizé Cornet but lost to Begu. At Nürnberg, Kerber made it to semifinals, but conceded a walkover to Roberta Vinci. At the French Open, Kerber was seeded 11th and defeated both Tímea Babos and Ajla Tomljanović in straight sets to reach round three, where she lost to Garbiñe Muguruza.

The inaugural European Championships in 1960 marked the pinnacle of Soviet footballing achievement. Easily progressing to the quarter- finals, the team were scheduled to face Spain, but due to the tensions of the Cold War, Spain refused to travel to the Soviet Union, resulting in a walkover. In the semi-final, the Soviet team defeated Czechoslovakia 3-0 and reached the final, where they faced Yugoslavia. In the final, Yugoslavia scored first, but the Soviet Union, led by legendary goalkeeper Lev Yashin, equalized in the 49th minute.

Gan's first election was for the Holland–Bukit Panjang Group Representation Constituency in the 2001 elections, where the party won a walkover on nomination day. In 2005, Gan was appointed a Minister of State at the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Manpower. Also in 2006, the Sonics finished as runners-up to Liban Espoir in the Bristol & SW Nines. White fell out of the top-32 at the end of the 2005–06 season and has not regained this status to date. He lost in the first round of the 2006 World Championship, although he did beat Stephen Hendry, Ding Junhui and World Champion Graeme Dott to reach the final of the 2006 Premier League. In the 2006–07 season he qualified for only one ranking event, the 2007 China Open. He had a walkover Stephen Lee before he lost 1–5 against John Higgins.
In the semi- finals, Quigley took all three rounds in a victory over Russian boxer Artem Chebotarev. In the other semi-final, Englishman Anthony Fowler was forced to give his opponent a walkover after suffering a hand injury in the lead up to the fight. As a result, Quigley met the much fresher Zhanibek Alimkhanuly in the following day's final. A right-handed player, Parkinson won six ITF circuit singles titles between 1997 and 1999, then began competing in the main draw of WTA Tour events. Her best performance came at the Advanta Championships of Philadelphia in 2000 where she made the quarter- finals as a lucky loser. After beating Kristina Brandi in the first round, she received a walkover against Chanda Rubin, before being eliminated by third seed Conchita Martínez. She featured in the main draw of all four grand slam events during her career.
On 11 March at Ravenhill, Belfast Jones was again on the score sheet as Wales beat Ireland to win their eighth Triple Crown. Though celebrations were short lived when a day later, a plane carrying jubilant supporters back to Wales crashed at Llandow, killing eighty. It was therefore a somber occasion when Wales faced France on 25 March at the Cardiff Arms Park. The match itself was a walkover for Wales, with Jones scoring two of the four tries in a 21–0 score line.
In 1924 he competed in tennis at the 1924 Summer Olympics, where he was eliminated in the first round of both singles and doubles by Arturo Hortal and Enrique Maier and Ricardo Saprissa, to whom the Portuguese team gave a walkover. He left council in 1977 following twenty-eight years of continuous service, after losing his redistributed ward to New Democrat Bill Chornopyski (the city had previously switched to single-member ward representation). The City of Winnipeg named a bridge in Rebchuk's honour in 1984. Following Melzer's hand injury in early 2007, Knowle found a new partner in Simon Aspelin of Sweden. At the 2007 US Open, seeded tenth with Aspelin, Knowle achieved the greatest triumph of his career by winning the tournament, his first Grand Slam. In the first two rounds, they won over Kubot/Skoch and got a walkover over Calleri/Horna. They went on to upset eighth seeds Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram (who would go on to win the 2008 Australian Open men's doubles) in the third round.
Russian sixth seed Dmitry Tursunov was expelled from the tournament by the ATP after he stormed off the court in his doubles' first round match, dismayed at a decision from the line judge, as Simone Bolelli and Andreas Seppi led him and partner Chris Haggard 6–4, 3–1. While Tursunov was expected to receive a fine, the ATP decided to deliver a more severe punishment, withdrawing him from the singles event. His scheduled second round opponent, Thomas Johansson, was given a walkover into the quarterfinals.
Silcock was a doubles specialist and won the Hong Kong Open in 1999, partnering James Greenhalgh. The pair upset future Grand Slam winners Mark Knowles and Daniel Nestor in the semi-finals. Bournemouth placed their faith on their own muscles and their new galley the Alice against the impudent youngsters in the test. The old Club's colours were Dark Blue and the Premier Club sported Blue and Magenta. The great day was 22 June and it was raining hard with a chop, so the race was postponed by the umpire until the 29th. The race was a walkover for Bournemouth who won in 6 minutes and thus extinguished for the moment the vaunting ambition of their rivals.

This type of seat was also known as a "walkover" seat, as the motorman could walk down the car's center aisle at the end of the line and flip the backs of the seats over.

The 1975–76 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship was the sixth staging of the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1970-71. University College Dublin were the defending champions, however, they failed to qualify after conceding a walkover to St. Vincent's in the Dublin County Championship. On 14 March 1976, St. Vincent's won the championship following a 4-10 to 0-05 defeat of Roscommon Gaels in the All-Ireland final at O'Moore Park. It was their first ever championship title.
The inaugural season of Division C was played as a straight knockout tournament. All teams contesting the division started in the quarter-finals, playing one match per round until the final when the winner was crowned. The losers of the quarter- finals played in consolation matches to determine their final division placements. In the America Inter-Zonal Final the United States received a walkover due to Brazil's absence, while in the Europe Zone final Australia defeated Czechoslovakia. The United States defeated Australia in the Inter- Zonal play-off, but would fall to Great Britain in the Challenge Round. The final was played at the All England Club Centre Court in Wimbledon, London, England on 28-31 July.

Neither match actually took place, however, as in both cases the away team withdrew from the competition, sending the home team through to the next round on a walkover.

Fong represented West Coast GRC in the Parliament of Singapore as a Member of Parliament from 2001 to 2015, and stepped down during the 2015 general elections. In the Gaelic games of hurling, Gaelic football, camogie and ladies' Gaelic football, a forfeit is called a walkover (). The team that concedes a game in a competition may receive further punishment, such as a fine, deduction of league points or automatic relegation. The most famous walkover in GAA history came in the 1910 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final. Louth were awarded the championship as Kerry refused to travel to Dublin for the final because the Great Southern and Western Railway would not grant fans, players and officials discounted fares for the trip.
On 10 December, the players officially went on strike. The county board and the players held the first of a series of meetings to try resolve the strike ten days later. On 9 January, the hurlers confirmed they would not play in the Waterford Crystal Cup and the county was forced to give a walkover to Limerick IT. Gentil was born in 1950, to a São Paulo surgeon and an American mother. His grandfather on his mother's side was diplomat Ellsworth Bunker, who was the U.S. Ambassador to South Vietnam from 1967 to 1973. As a teenager, Gentil competed in the main draw of the French Open and twice reached the second round, both times with a walkover, including over Jan Kodeš in 1968. He left the tour to attend the University of Southern California and played collegiate tennis for the Trojans, before graduating with an MBA degree in 1974.
The America Zone was one of the three regional zones of the 1959 Davis Cup. 7 teams entered the America Zone: 3 teams competed in the North & Central America Zone, while 4 teams competed in the South America Zone. The winner of each sub-zone would play against each other to determine who moved to the Inter-Zonal Zone to compete against the winners of the Eastern Zone and Europe Zone. Australia defeated Canada in the North & Central America Zone final, and Cuba received a walkover in the South America Zone final after Argentina withdrew.
The game was played in Cork to mark the opening of the new Cork Athletic Ground. Desmond's side made no mistake on this occasion and went on to win 3-13 to 0-0, giving Desmond an All-Ireland winners’ medal. Desmond was still a key member of the Cork team again in 1903. That year, he collected a second Munster winners’ medal as Cork defeated Waterford by 5-16 to 1-1. Cork later received a walkover from Galway before defeating Kilkenny in the ‘home’ championship decider.
Manuella (1809 - after 1831) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare who won the classic Oaks Stakes at Epsom Downs Racecourse in 1812. Unraced as a two-year-old, the Northern-trained filly was fancied to win The Derby on her racecourse debut but finished unplaced. She won the Oaks a day later, but was beaten when favourite for the St Leger Stakes. She won two more races (one of them a walkover) and changed hands more than once before being retired from racing at the end of the 1814 season.
The domestic championship began in 2005–06 and has been dominated by Athens RFC who won the first four championships. In 2005–06 Athens claimed the title in unsatisfactory manner when Rhodes Colossi were unable to get to the final in Athens because bad weather prevented their ferry from leaving Rhodes. Athens were thus given a walkover although in fairness they had dominated the season and were clear favourites to win. In 2006–07, Athens and Rhodes again made it to the final which Athens won 19 – 0 at the Zirinio Stadium in Athens.

In poker games that use blinds, a hand is considered a walkover (usually shortened to walk) when no other players call or raise the big blind, resulting in the player who posted the big blind winning the hand by default. Walks are most often seen in tournament play. Cash games often allow the players to "split the blinds" (i.e. take back their blind bets in case there are no callers or raisers by the time the action gets to the small blind), but this is usually not permitted in tournaments.

Gerard Leembruggen (26 February 1897 – 13 May 1980), was a Dutch male tennis player who represented The Netherlands in the Davis Cup and the Olympic Games. He competed in the singles and doubles events at the 1924 Summer Olympics. In the singles event he had a walkover in the first round and lost in the second round to Brian Gilbert in three straight sets. With compatriot Marius van der Feen he lost in the first round against the Czechoslovakian pair Ladislav Žemla and Jan Koželuh, also in straight sets.
Second-seeded Daphne Akhurst and Jean Borotra won the final on a walkover against the first seeds Esna Boyd and Jack Hawkes, to win the Mixed Doubles tennis title at the 1928 Australian Championships. Originally this final (as well as men's singles and men's doubles finals) was scheduled to be played on Saturday, February 4. As the tournament progressed, it turned out that Borotra would have been engaged in all three of them. He refused to play three matches in one day and wished to forfeit in mixed doubles event.
Krupa was a doubles specialist, most successful during his partnership with countryman Pavel Vízner. The pair made the semi-finals of the 1993 Romanian Open and were finalists at the Prague Open in 1994. They were unable to compete in the Prague final, giving opponents Karel Nováček and Mats Wilander the title in a walkover. In 1999 he made another ATP Tour semi-final, at the International Raiffeisen Grand Prix tournament in Sankt Pölten, with Petr Pála, in a run which included a win over second seeds David Adams and John-Laffnie de Jager.
One team in Tallinn refers to a football match scheduled for 9 October 1996 in World Cup qualifying European Group 4 between the national teams of Estonia and Scotland. The match was abandoned after three seconds because the Estonian team were absent from the Kadrioru Stadium due to a dispute over its floodlights. Scotland expected to be awarded a walkover victory, but FIFA ordered that the match be replayed on neutral territory. The replayed match, staged at the Stade Louis II in Monaco, ended in a goalless draw.
Ruth Isabel Winch (née Legh, 25 August 1870 – 9 January 1952) was a British tennis player who won a bronze medal at the 1908 Summer Olympics in London. Winch had a walkover in both round one and the quarter finals of the 1908 women's singles competition, in the semi-final she lost to Dorothea Chambers 6–1, 6–1. Between 1899 and 1922 Winch participated in nine editions of the Wimbledon Championships. Her best results in the singles event were achieved in 1904 and 1919 when she reached the quarterfinal.
Nuria Montero (born 8 October 1978) is a Spanish former professional tennis player. Montero reached a career-best singles ranking of 297 and made her only WTA Tour main-draw appearance as a qualifier at the 1998 Madrid Open. She was beaten in the first round by María Sánchez Lorenzo, after securing qualifying wins over Conchita Martínez Granados, Syna Schmidle and Alicia Ortuño, the latter in a walkover. As a doubles player, Montero had a career-high ranking of 193, and won eleven titles on the ITF Circuit.
Dimitrov was due to play eighth seed Alexandr Dolgopolov in the quarterfinals, but received a walkover when the Ukrainian retired before the match, citing a thigh injury. Dimitrov then faced first seed, Stan Wawrinka, in the semifinals, and won in straight sets. Dimitrov claimed his first title in a grass court against Feliciano López in three sets, being a set behind and saving a match point. It was the event's first time in which the final was decided with three tiebreakers, as well as being the longest ever Queens final.
Chinese defences on the Mandarin Road to the southwest of Bắc Ninh. Millot bypassed the main Chinese positions and attacked Bắc Ninh from the southeast The campaign was a walkover for the French. Morale in the Chinese army was low, and Liu Yongfu was careful to keep his experienced Black Flags out of danger. The French assaulted Bắc Ninh on 12 March from the southeast, with complete success. In the first week of March, Millot concentrated Brière de l'Isle's 1st Brigade at Hanoi and de Négrier's 2nd Brigade at Hải Dương.
But the biggest achievement came in the same year where she and Diju again reached the quarters of the 2009 BWF World Championships and became the first Indians to do so repeating the feat at The Championships the following year. The Championships were held at Hyderabad, India. The duo, seeded 8th, got a bye in the first round followed by a walkover in the second. In the third round they defeated 12th seed Polish pair of Robert Mateusiak and Nadiezda Kostiuczyk 21–11 22–20 in a 31-minute clash.

After receiving a walkover in the second round from Venus Williams, she beat Sloane Stephens in three sets to set up a rematch of last year's final against Serena Williams in the quarterfinals which she lost in three sets despite being up a set and a break in both the second and third sets. Ivanovic next played at the US Open as the seventh seed.
Kristiania Hockeyklub, usually called just Hockeyklubben ("The Hockey Club"), was founded in 1903 and was the first bandy club in Norway. It was based in Oslo, which at the time was called Kristiania. The club dominated Norwegian bandy during the first years the sport was played in the country. Hockeyklubben was playing the final of the Norwegian Championship in the first two years a national championship was played in bandy, in 1912 and 1913, however losing to IF Ready on both occasions, the second time on a walkover.
She won 6 consecutive matches, 3 in qualifying and then 3 in the main draw before giving a walkover to Bethanie Mattek-Sands. She did not play her next event until the U.S. Open Series, where she scored an upset win over Marion Bartoli. She played her final match at the 2008 US Open, losing to seed Alyona Bondarenko losing 2–6, 6–3, 6–2. She officially retired from pro tennis on August 24, 2009 due to her recurring hip injury, as well as her coaching position at Oklahoma State University.
Due to visa and travel issues, only 8 players from the Ecuador team had arrived by the first game day. As such, a game between Guatemala and a mix of the Ecuadorian players and local players was played as an exhibition game, which resulted in a 40-0 victory for the Guatemala national team. The game was officially awarded to Guatemala as a walkover, by a score of 5-0. Costa Rica were the champions of the tournament, beating Guatemala in the final round to win the championship.
Ondu's second half-end of the season began on 19 December 2017 with a 2–1 loss to Masavu FC. Okhuti got the consolation goal by netting a penalty in the 90th minute. On 22 December 2017, they beat URA 1–0 courtesy of a Viane goal at Mandela National Stadium. On 27 January 2018, FUFA awarded Onduparaka a walkover into the 2018 Uganda Cup round of 32 after opponents Light S.S. did not appear. Onduparaka drew 0–0 with Express in a game that featured a female linesman on 10 February 2018.
Vikhlyantseva debuted at a Grand Slam tournament at the 2017 Australian Open where she reached the second round of the main draw, losing to Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. Her next tournament was the St. Petersburg Ladies' Trophy for which she received a wild card and beat Yaroslava Shvedova before upsetting No. 8 seed Daria Kasatkina in straight sets and receiving a walkover from top seed Simona Halep (who withdrew due to injury) in the quarterfinals. She lost in the semifinals to eventual champion Kristina Mladenovic. Despite her defeat, Vikhlyantseva ensured a top-100 debut with her campaign.
Federer began the tournament by defeating Stéphane Robert and Steve Johnson in straight sets to set up a meeting with Nadal. Federer won in straight sets, marking the first time he had ever achieved three consecutive wins over the Spaniard. He reached the semifinals with a walkover from Nick Kyrgios due to food poisoning and reached the final after beating Jack Sock in straight sets. He defeated fellow countryman Stan Wawrinka in two sets in the final, to win a record-equaling fifth title in Indian Wells and the 90th title of his career.

At the end of the season, following a dispute between Shelly Israel and Bnot Caesarea co-owner, Ran Ben Basat, Israel quit the club, and the two club merged again to re-form Bnot Caesarea Tiv'on. The club played 8 matches in the second division and folded. In the Israeli Women's Cup the club never won a match, except for a walkover win over Bnot Beit She'an, and never reached more than the quarter-finals. The club also played in the second division cup and reached the final in both 2012 and 2013 (as Bnot Tiv'on), and twice lost in the final.
The 2009–10 FA Cup (known as The FA Cup sponsored by E.ON for sponsorship reasons) was the 129th season of the world's oldest football knockout competition; the FA Cup. As in the previous year, 762 clubs were accepted for the competition. One club, Newcastle Blue Star, folded before the fixtures were released. As they were scheduled to enter the competition in the First Round Qualifying, their opponents in this round received a walkover. The competition commenced on 15 August 2009 with the Extra Preliminary Round and concluded on 15 May 2010 with the Final, held at Wembley Stadium.
Choo first became a Member of Parliament (MP) after the 1988 general elections where his party, PAP, contested and won the election in Marine Parade Group Representation Constituency (GRC) against the Singapore Justice Party. In the 1991 general elections, Choo moved to Jalan Besar GRC and was re-elected via a walkover. In March 1992, Choo caused controversy when he remarked in Parliament about driving through Little India and finding the neighbourhood in "complete darkness" "not because there was no light, but because there were too many Indians around there". This led to calls for his resignation.
That same year she teamed-up with Daniel Prenn to reach the semifinal of the mixed doubles competition which they lost to the second-seeded pair Simonne Mathieu and Yvon Petra. Her biggest success at Grand Slam level came in 1935 when she partnered with Nancy Lyle Glover to win the doubles title at the 1935 Australian Championships, defeating Louie Bickerton and Nell Hall Hopman in the final in straight sets. In July 1931 she won the singles title at the Canadian Championships after a walkover in the final against compatriot Mary Hardwick. With Hardwick she also won the doubles title.
Curiously he is listed as losing in a walkover for the first round of the singles in every French Open from 1967 to 1971. His most famous moment came in the 1967 Davis Cup when he defeated Arthur Ashe in the reverse singles to complete a surprise victory for Ecuador over the United States in the Americas Inter-Zonal Final. The tie was played on Guzmán's home court in Guayaquil. He began started with a loss to Cliff Richey in the first match of the tie, before Miguel Olvera levelled it at 1–1 going into the doubles.
Rybakina has led the WTA Tour in finals and match wins during the 2020 season through September. She reached the finals at four of her first five events. Before the COVID-19 pandemic led to the shutdown of the WTA Tour for more than five months, she only failed to reach the final at the Australian Open and the Qatar Open, losing to world No. 1 Ashleigh Barty in both instances, the latter of which in a walkover due to an abductor strain in her leg. Prior to the Australian Open, her two finals came at International events.
In the event of a draw after three rounds the judges will base the victor on who was stronger in the final round, or failing that will use their remarks from each round to deduce who wins. Victory can be achieved by a point's decision, technical knockout or knockout, abandonment (when one fighter gives up), disqualification or by a walkover (other fighter is unable to participate). World No. 1 Justine Henin-Hardenne started the season on a high note, taking the title in Sydney and then winning her third Grand Slam title at the Australian Open, defeating Kim Clijsters in the final. Fabiola Zuluaga and Patty Schnyder enjoyed runs to their first ever Grand Slam semifinals in singles. Schnyder took advantage of an open draw which saw Venus Williams dumped out in the third round by Lisa Raymond. Zuluaga advanced after Elena Dementieva and Nadia Petrova were early upset victims in her section of the draw, and then benefitted from a walkover from Amélie Mauresmo in the quarterfinals.
The 1935 International Lawn Tennis Challenge was the 30th edition of what is now known as the Davis Cup. Due to increased political tensions in Europe, entries for the Europe Zone declined sharply, causing the Qualifying Round system to be scrapped. Only 11 teams would enter the Europe Zone, with 17 teams entering the qualifying rounds; while six would enter the Americas Zone, 4 in North America and 2 in South America. In the America Inter-Zonal Final the United States received a walkover due to Brazil's absence, while in the Europe Zone final Germany defeated Czechoslovakia.
Pietro Marzano (born 29 August 1949) is a former professional tennis player from Italy who was active in the 1960s and 1970s. His best singles result at a Grand Slam tournament was reaching the third round at the French Open in 1969 in which he lost in straight sets to first-seeded and eventual champion Rod Laver. The 2012–13 Mohun Bagan A.C. season is the 123rd season of Mohun Bagan A.C. since the club's formation in 1889 and their 16th season in the I-League which is India's top football league. The team finished runners-up in the Calcutta Football League and a dismal tenth in the I-League. They were crowned Champions in the Airlines Cup after Mohammedan refused to play the finals and gave a walkover. O'Donovan played his club hurling with the famous Glen Rovers and enjoyed much success during a golden age for the club. He made his senior debut in 1937 as the Glen were in the throes of dominating club hurling in Cork. Having been granted a walkover by the same opposition two years earlier, Glen Rovers faced Carrigtwohill in the county decider of 1937. The dominance continued and a 3–5 to 1–0 score line gave O'Donovan a Cork Senior Hurling Championship medal. In 1938 Glen Rovers set out to make history by besting Blackrock's twenty-five-year-old championship record.
Tsonga switched his rackets to Babolat (previously using Wilson) and started his 2010 season at the AAMI Kooyong Classic, after recovering from a wrist injury. Destiny (1833 - after 1852) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare who won the classic 1000 Guineas at Newmarket Racecourse in 1836. In a racing career which lasted from September 1835 until April 1837, the filly raced eleven times and won three times. Destiny's only competitive victories came at the First Spring meeting at Newmarket in 1836, when she won a Sweepstakes and the 1000 Guineas: her only other success was a walkover at Lincoln Racecourse that autumn. Although she finished second in The Oaks never finished worse than third in her career, she was regarded as a sub-standard classic winner.

In the event of a draw after three rounds the judges will base the victor on who was stronger in the final round, or failing that will use their remarks from each round to deduce who wins. Victory can be achieved by a point's decision, technical knockout or knockout, abandonment (when one fighter gives up), disqualification or by a walkover (other fighter is unable to participate). The land was again sold in 1991, and in 1992 government personnel and the new owners performed a walkover. In 1869 Blue Gown won eight of his ten races including the Craven Stakes at Newmarket (a walkover), the Trial Stakes at Epsom and the Newmarket Biennial as well as finishing second to the filly Brigantine in the Ascot Gold Cup. Late in the year he was sold to a syndicate for £5,000 and exported to France. It was hoped to run him in major continental races but he made only one appearance, finishing unplaced under a heavy weight in an event at Lyon in 1870 before being sold again and returned to England. He failed to recapture his previous form, winning one minor handicap race at Newmarket in five appearances.

In 1824 Barefoot was based at Newmarket, Suffolk, probably at the stable of William Chifney. His training was delayed at the start of the year when he fell in an exercise gallop, sustaining serious injuries to both his knees. Barefoot eventually began his third season with three engagements at Royal Ascot in June, beginning with a walkover in the one and a half mile Swinley Stakes which took his winning run to seven. However, at the XV World Championships in 2006, they conceded a walkover due to Chan's father's death. In the Swiss Open, Chan and Koo defeated Carsten Mogensen and Mathias Boe in a thrilling 17–14, 8-15, and 17–14 final match. On the run up to the Doha Asian Games XV, Chan sustained an injury which prompted their coach, Rexy Mainaky, to split them, partnering Koo Kien Keat with Tan Boon Heong for the games instead.
In 2005, Jung won the Thailand Open with his former partner Lee Jae-jin, beating the Danes Lars Paaske and Jonas Rasmussen in the final. In the semifinals, she lost the first set to Kim Clijsters, before the Belgian retired with a hip injury midway through the second. In the final, Hantuchová was easily defeated by Kaia Kanepi, 6–2, 6–1. Fordham was scheduled to face Whitlock again in the first round of the 2007 BDO World Darts Championship, but prior to the tournament starting he was again hospitalised after complaining of chest pains and breathing difficulties. Subsequently, he had 18 litres of bile drained from his lungs and was to remain in hospital for three weeks. Fordham was withdrawn from the tournament, with Whitlock receiving a walkover to the second round. Less than one week after being discharged from hospital, Fordham suffered what was initially thought to be a minor stroke, but which turned out to be severe breathing difficulties caused by further fluid build-up in his lungs.

Pictures of the race indicate that Carpenter (intentionally or not) blocked Halswelle. Carpenter was disqualified, and the race was ordered to be rerun in lanes two days later; however, the other two U.S. runners refused to race, so a reluctant Halswelle ran the race by himself to win the gold in a time of 50.2 s. It is the only occasion in Olympic history where the final was a walkover. As a result of the controversy, from the next Olympics in 1912 onwards all 400 metre races were run in lanes, and the International Amateur Athletic Federation was founded to establish uniform worldwide rules for athletics.
At the 1981 World Championship Johnson lost his opening match, a last 48 encounter with Tony Meo. Johnson matched Meo virtually frame for frame throughout the match until losing the final frame and the match 9–8. Johnson received no ranking points during the season, his prize money for the season was £850, 28th on the money list and he finished the season still unranked. Johnson started the season unranked. His first event was the 1981 International Open in which he beat Jim Donnelly 5–4 in Round 1, Murdo MacLeod 5–1 in Round 2 and received a walkover against John Pulman in Round 3.
Laura Granville and Lucie Hradecká were the defending champions, however Granville did not participate. Lucie Hradecká partnered up with Marina Erakovic and lost in the first round to Beatrice Capra and Coco Vandeweghe The doubles final was scratched and Jamie Hampton and Anna Tatishvili were awarded a “walkover” defeat of Irina Falconi and Alison Riske as Riske withdrew due to illness. She was the defending champion at the Canadian Open and defeated Eugenie Bouchard and Stosur to reach the quarterfinals but failed to defend her title when she lost to eventual finalist Sorana Cîrstea in three sets.
The next 2 seasons saw some improvement, finishing 7th and 5th, respectively. In the 1979–80 season, Velež finished 8th and the manager at the time, Vukašin Višnjevac was sacked and replaced with Miloš Milutinović, famously known as Plava čigra. In the league Velež finished a lowly 9th place, but their real shining moment came in the cup that season. Velež had beaten Borac Banja Luka in the first round 3–2, and after a walkover from Sutjeska Nikšić in the second round, advanced to the quarterfinals where they faced FK Bregalnica Štip, a lower league side from North Macedonia, and beat them 2–0.

Michael Chang became Kei Nishikori's coach in 2014. Nishikori made it to the fourth round in the Australian Open, but was dismissed by Rafael Nadal in straight sets without much trouble. He defended his title at the U.S. National Indoor Tennis Championships in Memphis, defeating Ivo Karlović in the final. He then played at the Masters 1000 event in Miami, where he was seeded 20th. Nishikori saved four match points before defeating 4th seed David Ferrer and advanced to the semifinals with a three-set win against 5th seed Roger Federer. Because of a left groin injury, he gave 2nd seed Novak Djokovic a walkover in the semifinals.
The victory also secured senior status for Glen Rovers. Having lost the senior decider to Blackrock in 1930, it would take four years for the Glen to qualify for a second senior final. A 3–2 to 0–6 defeat of four-in-a-row hopefuls St. Finbarr's gave Collins a senior championship medal. He added a second championship medal to his collection the following year when Carrigtwohill gave Glen Rovers a walkover in the championship decider. The Glen continued to dominate Cork hurling once again in 1936. In spite of having two players sent off, Collins won a third successive championship medal following a 7–5 to 4–2 defeat of Sarsfield's.
Chan was a PAP candidate in the Tanjong Pagar Group Representation Constituency at the 2011 general election, representing the Buona Vista ward previously held by Lim Swee Say. The PAP's team in the constituency was led by former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, and was declared elected on Nomination Day (27 April 2011) in a walkover. During the election campaign, Chan used the Hokkien phrase "kee chiu" (meaning "hands up") at a rally to engage the crowd, and the term became a well-known nickname for him in Singapore. Following the general election, Chan was appointed the Acting Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports, and the Minister of State at the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts.
He was knocked out by Andrej Merzlyakov in the first round of the prestigious Chemistry Cup in Germany in June 2018, then lost by referee stoppage to Nicoleto Grdovič at an international tournament in Slovakia in what was his light heavyweight debut. After this rough return, he then won a gold medal in the middleweight event at the European Union Championships in November, winning all four bouts by unanimous decision. His year ended with his second gold medal at the national championships in December. Csemez was scheduled to compete at the 2019 European U-22 Championships in Russia, but failed a medical exam that kept him out of the ring and awarded his opponent a walkover victory.
Mighty Blackpool's record in the African Cup of Champions Clubs has mostly seen them eliminated in the early rounds. In 1968 they were due to play Congolese club, Étoile du Congo in the Preliminary round but withdrew from the competition before the matches were played handing Étoile du Congo a walkover, and in 1975 they lost 3–0 on aggregate to Djoliba Athletic Club of Mali in the First round. In 1979 they again lost in the First round, drawing 4–4 with Accra Hearts of Oak SC of Ghana on aggregate but losing out on penalties 4–2. And in 1980 they lost to ASF Police of Senegal 4–1 on aggregate in the First round.
At the World Covered Court Championships in 1920 she was a finalist in the doubles and, partnering Francis Fisher, won the mixed doubles title after a walkover in the final against Stanley Doust and Kathleen McKane Godfree. In 1921 she won the mixed doubles at the Queen's Covered Court Championships, again teaming up with Fisher, but lost the final of the singles event to Edith Holman. She captained the South African women's team that toured Europe in 1927 and together with Heine Miller won the doubles title at the Queen's Club Championships. Bowder Peacock and Heine Miller missed the 1930 Wimbledon Championships due to a scheduling disagreement with the South African Lawn Tennis Union.
Of the 1891 Mountrice team, Pat Martin was grandfather of 1960s ace scorer Jack Donnelly, while Jim was father of Bob and Paddy - All Ireland medallist, inter-provincial, and Tailteann Games international in the 1920s. Ellistown were promoted in 1935, went to the semi-final in 1936, losing to Curragh having beaten Sarsfields on the way, lost the 1937 first round to Sarsfields, and eventually reached the 1938 county final. The first of two successive Ellistown v Kildare St. Patrick's finals never took place because six Ellistown players were ill, and they were surprised when a walkover rather than a refixture was given. They won the title the following year, Ellistown won revenge, 3-2 to 1-3.
The Gloucester Premier campaign started the following weekend with a victory over Longlevens. This was followed by a dominant win over North Bristol at King George V. The next round of games saw them lose away at Old Richians RFC but they returned to winning ways the next couple of weeks against Barts rugby and Berry Hill. The club was set to host local rivals Cheltenham North RFC on the club's Old Boys Day, but were handed a win as a walkover as the North were unable to field a team. November saw the Sarries travel back to Trench Lane to face St. Mary's Old Boys, coming out on the losing end of a 30-24 result.
In 2005 Marko entered the W.A.K.O. World Amateur Kickboxing Championships in Szeged, Hungary where he made it to the final of the heavyweight division (91 kg/200.2 lbs) in Full-Contact - only to lose out on a gold medal against Denys Simkin. As an amateur boxer in 2007 Marko made it to the 2007 World Championships where he lost his first bout to David Price. He also returned to kickboxing that year with W.A.K.O. for the world championships in Coimbra, Portugal making the final of the super heavyweight division and winning a silver medal. At the Olympic qualifications he defeated Kurban Günebakan, got a walkover over Magomed Abdusalamov and surprisingly beat Robert Helenius 16:7, thus qualifying for Beijing.
Following the review, on 13 January 1975 Heath called a leadership election for 4 February, in order to assert his authority as leader of the party. Many expected the contest to be a walkover, believing there was no clear alternative to Heath after Keith Joseph had ruled himself out following controversial remarks calling on poor people to have fewer children and William Whitelaw had pledged loyalty to Heath. Many other shadow cabinet members pledged their support for Heath including Jim Prior, Peter Carrington, Leader in the House of Lords, and Robert Carr, Shadow Chancellor. However, on 20 January Margaret Thatcher opted to stand, with Airey Neave as her campaign manager, as did backbencher Hugh Fraser.
Chong represented Sembawang Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in Yishun East from 1988 to 1991, Eunos GRC between 1991 and 1996 in Pasir Ris, Pasir Ris GRC in Elias from 1997 to 2001, Pasir Ris–Punggol GRC in Punggol Central from 2001 to 2011, Joo Chiat Single Member Constituency (SMC) from 2011 to 2015, and Punggol East SMC from 2015 to 2020. In the 2006 general elections, the PAP contested Pasir Ris–Punggol GRC against the Singapore Democratic Alliance. The PAP won with 68.70% of the votes in this GRC. In the 2001 general elections, the GRC was not contested and resulted in a walkover for Chong and his party in this GRC.
Dr. Yeoh's political career began in 1966, when he was recruited by the People's Action Party to stand in a by-election in Joo Chiat. He won by a walkover and served as the constituency's MP for 22 years. His preoccupation with medicine precluded a ministerial appointment; instead, he was made Deputy Speaker in 1968, and elected Speaker two years later. In 1977, Minister of Law, Environment, Science and Technology, Mr E. W. Barker, congratulating him on his re-election to yet another term as Speaker, said that if not for Dr. Yeoh's commitment to surgery, he "could with ease and distinction occupy one of the front benches on this side of the House".
Though Raonic failed to get past eventual finalist Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinals, this result marked the third year in a row that Milos made at least the quarterfinals at this tournament. At his next tournament in February, he reached the final in Delray Beach, giving Jack Sock a walkover in the final due to a hamstring tear in his right leg. She lost to Simona Halep in the last four. She won the 2011 Syed Modi Grand Prix where she received a walkover against Porntip Buranaprasertsuk in final. She was also a member of the women's team that defeated Indonesia in the final of the Badminton at the 2011 Southeast Asian Games. She herself was a bronze medalist in singles event, where she lost in the semifinals to Singapore's Fu Mingtian. In 2012, Intanon, at 16 years of age, was awarded the Best Female Athlete Award in Thailand after winning the world junior title for three successive years. She reached the finals of the SCG Thailand Open 2012 but lost to Saina Nehwal 19–21, 21–15, 21–10 in the finals.
The battle of Ky Lua, on 28 March 1885, was a walkover victory for the French, but de Négrier was shot in the chest and seriously wounded while scouting the Chinese positions in preparation for a French counterattack, and was forced to hand over command to Lieutenant-Colonel Paul Gustave Herbinger, one of his two regimental commanders. Herbinger, a theoretical soldier with little experience of command in the field, lost his head. More than a thousand Chinese corpses lay in front of the 2nd Brigade's positions, and the Chinese could be seen falling back in disorder towards the frontier, leaving only a small rearguard at Ky Lua to protect their retreat. Herbinger was unimpressed.
Wawrinka began his ninth season on the ATP World Tour with a win at the Chennai Open in India, winning this tournament for the second time in his career, defeating Édouard Roger-Vasselin in the final in straight sets. At the Australian Open, Wawrinka beat Andrey Golubev and Alejandro Falla in the first two rounds, then had a walkover when Vasek Pospisil pulled out of their third-round match, followed by a straight-set win over Tommy Robredo. Wawrinka's quarterfinal opponent was Novak Djokovic, and this time Wawrinka won in five sets, taking the deciding fifth set 9–7 after being a break down. The victory ended a 14-match losing streak against the three-time reigning champion.
He has also been playing with Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei in the popular competition, All England Super Series, after getting a walkover with Indonesia's legend Sony Dwi Kuncoro. Lång lost 9-21 straight game in the third round at All England Championships 2011 to Lee Chong Wei from Malaysia. Later in the World Championships 2011, Lång met the world number one Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia again and lost 10-21 11-21 to the Malaysian in the second round. Nearly one year later that was in 2012 London Olympics, he met again the top seed from Malaysia in the first round and came out with an 8-21, 21-14, 11-21, his best performance against Lee.
On the first day, in sunny weather, ten matches were played, which completed the first round. Full match scores were published on the notice board inside the pavilion. F.N. Langham, a Cambridge tennis blue, was given a walkover in the first round when C.F. Buller, an Etonian and well-known rackets player, did not appear. Julian Marshall became the first player to win a five-set match when he fought back from being two sets down against Captain Grimston. Spencer Gore, a 27-year-old rackets player from Wandsworth and at the time a land agent and surveyor by profession, won his first round match against Henry Thomas Gillson in straight sets.
After being awarded a win over Iris Club Lillois in the semi-final by walkover, they were awarded the title after also receiving a walkover in the final against Club Français. They would also win the following year, with the final being a "re-match" of the forfeited 1899 final. The club is famous for its notable youth investment program which develops and nurtures young talent, with the vision of using them in the first team if they show enough promise. A vast amount of good young talent has gone on to make an impact at international level including Benjamin Mendy, Ibrahim Ba, Jean-Alain Boumsong, Lassana Diarra, Riyad Mahrez, Steve Mandanda, Vikash Dhorasoo, Paul Pogba and Dimitri Payet.
Cornet reached the second round of the Australian Open where she lost to ninth seed Daniela Hantuchová. Over the following months, Cornet experienced a great level of success on the main tour, particularly on clay, reaching the final in Acapulco and the semifinals in Amelia Island and Charleston (a Tier-I event). Cornet entered the Rome Masters and beat Vera Dushevina in the first round, Francesca Schiavone in the second, world No. 3 Svetlana Kuznetsova in the third, and then received a walkover from an injured Serena Williams to get into the semifinals. She defeated Anna Chakvetadze to reach her first Tier-I final where, however, she lost to Janković in two sets.
In the 2011 general elections, the Jurong Central and Hong Kah division's population carved to form the new Jurong Spring division, while Yuhua became a SMC in return. In 2015, Bukit Batok was carved as a SMC while Clementi, a division under the West Coast GRC, was absorbed to the ward to maintain its five seats. The constituency was first contested in the 2001 general election with the People's Action Party against the Singapore Democratic Party. The ward won a walkover in 2006 before facing another contest with the National Solidarity Party (2011), Singaporeans First (2015) and Red Dot United (2020); however, this GRC has always been held by the People's Action Party since its creation in 2001.
The remaining Venetian strongholds, including the last remaining outposts on Crete (Spinalonga and Souda), likewise capitulated in exchange for safe departure. Within a hundred days, the entire Peloponnese had been re-taken by the Ottomans. According to the Ottomanist Virginia Aksan, the campaign had been "basically a walkover for the Ottomans". Despite the presence of sufficient materiel, the Venetian garrisons were weak, and the Venetian government unable to finance the war, while the Ottomans not only enjoyed a considerable numerical superiority, but also were more willing "to tolerate large losses and considerable desertion": according to Brue, no less than 8,000 Ottoman soldiers were killed and another 6,000 wounded in the just nine days of the siege of Nauplia.

Larcombe did not play competitive tennis for four years from 1907 until her return in 1911. In 1912 she became Wimbledon champion by first defeating Charlotte Cooper Sterry in the All-Comers' final and subsequently receiving a walkover in the Challenge Round. The following year she was unable to defend her singles title when she was injured in the final of the mixed doubles. Her partner James Cecil Parke misjudged a smash in the second set which hit her full on the side of the face and the resulting eye injury forced her to retire from the mixed doubles final and to default from her challenge round match against Dorothea Lambert Chambers scheduled for the following day.
Vale claimed a walkover victory over Hereford in the third qualification round of the FA Cup after they could not guarantee the visitor's expenses. They then beat Birmingham League side Stourbridge in the next round, but failed to overcome Football League Second Division side Burton Swifts in the fifth qualification round in what was described as "the best game seen at Cobridge for two years". They exited the Birmingham Senior Cup at the first round, losing 2–1 to Brierley Hill Alliance. They failed to make it past the preliminary round of the Staffordshire Senior Cup, falling to a 4–2 defeat at Dresden United in a replayed fixture after the initial match was tied 1–1.
Her unit parted company with the main force about midnight on 21 April and reached its objective, Humboldt Bay, at about 05:00 on the 22d. At around 06:00 Beale and her consorts commenced a 15-minute preliminary bombardment. Those efforts, as well as the contributions added by TF 58 aircraft, prompted most of the supposed defenders to abandon their assignment and head for safer surroundings. As a consequence of the enemy's headlong flight, the assault troops enjoyed a landing that in amphibious circles might be regarded as a walkover, and Japanese resistance never really materialized. With the landing's success assured, Beale cleared the area with Task Group 77.2 (TG 77.2) and arrived in Seeadler Harbor, Manus, the next day.
Arbroath were too strong for East End, who bowed out with a 7–1 away defeat. The first round of the 1886–87 tournament saw them drawn against Aberdeen, although East End were awarded the game as a walkover. A 5–4 home win against Broughty was followed by a 3–3 draw in the third round at home to Dunblane. East End withdrew from the replay. In the first round of the 1887–88 tournament, East End won 13–1 away to Strathmore in the first round, but subsequently went out with a 3–2 defeat away to Lindertis Kirriemuir in the next round. The following season saw a 5–4 defeat away to local rivals Our Boys in the first round.
Contemporaries described him as "the most popular of football chiefs", "as a goalkeeper (he) is never found wanting", "one of the very best goalkeepers of the day, plucky, cool and difficult to pass" and "always doing the right thing at the right time". The Royal Engineers Journal described Merriman as "an uncommonly good goal-keeper, a fact not infrequently mentioned in the records of matches". In November 1871, the Royal Engineers were among fifteen teams who entered the inaugural FA Cup competition, and were allocated a home match in the first round against Reigate Priory. Reigate Priory, however, withdrew from the competition, sending the Engineers through to the next round on a walkover. In the second round, the Engineers beat Hitchin 5–0 on 10 January 1872.
The AFC cancelled the match since both teams had been eliminated from the competition by virtue of their previous results against China and Iraq. A film, Goal Dreams, was made about the team attempting to overcome obstacles in the qualification for the 2006 World Cup, who were also featured on the BBC documentary series Frontline Football. In October 2007, the second leg of a crucial 2010 World Cup qualifier between Palestine and Singapore was not played due to Palestine's inability to obtain exit visas. The AFC and FIFA decided not to reschedule the match despite protests from the PFA, and Singapore was awarded a 3–0 win in a walkover match. In May 2008, the team was not allowed to travel to the 2008 AFC Challenge Cup.
Seah Kian Peng was fielded as a People's Action Party candidate for the Marine Parade Group GRC in the 2006 general election, and was elected as Member of Parliament for Marine Parade GRC (Braddell Heights ward) in a walkover for the 11th Parliament of Singapore. Seah was re-elected for Marine Parade Group GRC in the 2011 and 2015 general elections where the PAP team was challenged by National Solidarity Party and Workers' Party respectively. In the Singapore Parliament, Seah served as a deputy Speaker from October 2011 to January 2016. On 10 March 2010, Vivian Balakrishnan, the then Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports, suggested that Seah to work out a private member's bill to propose amendments to the Maintenance of Parents Act.
Four Roads Hurling Club are a hurling club from Co. Roscommon. They are the most successful team in the history of the Roscommon Senior Hurling Championship with 34 titles. They also won the Connacht Senior Club Hurling Championship in 1977 due to a walkover from Kiltormer and again 1988 when they defeated Abbeyknockmoy on a scoreline of 3-5 to 1-8. On both occasions of representing Connacht at the All-Ireland semi final stage they encountered Wexford opposition. First up was the star studded Rathnure side of 1978 where they put in an impressive performance before going down by 2-20 to 2-8, and in 1989 they suffered defeat on a scoreline of 2-19 to 0-9 to eventual champions Buffers Alley.
After beating the n.1 seed Sergio Gutierrez-Ferrol (former Top 200 on the ATP rankings) in the quarterfinals, and after receiving a walkover in the semifinals, Quinzi reached his fourth career final in an ITF tournament (the third in 2013, in only four tournaments played). Here he won his first career title beating in three sets Lamine Ouahab (former world n.114) and entered, for the first time, the Top 400 of the ATP World rankings. In July, Quinzi received a wildcard to join the main draw of the 2013 Guzzini Challenger: here he reached his first win in a Challenger tournament, beating fellow Italian Stefano Travaglia in three sets, but lost in the second round to Flavio Cipolla former n.
Galway and Dublin were later defeated as Cork booked their place in the All-Ireland final and, for the second year in-a-row, London provided the opposition. The game was played in Cork to mark the opening of the new Cork Athletic Ground. O’Keeffe’s side made no mistake on this occasion and powered to a 3-13 to 0-0 victory. It was a huge triumph for Cork and gave O’Keeffe an All-Ireland winners’ medal. O’Keeffe was still a key member of the Cork team again in 1903, however, once again he missed Cork’s Munster final defeat of Waterford. O’Keeffe was back on the team later as Cork received a walkover from Galway before defeating Kilkenny in the ‘home’ championship decider.
In 2002, São Tomé and Príncipe women's national under-19 football team participated in the African Women U-19 Championship, the first edition of the competition to be held. In the first round, they lost to Mali women's national under-19 football team twice with scores of 0–6 and 1–4. The age grouping for the youth national cup was subsequently changed from under-19 to under-20. São Tomé and Príncipe women's national under-20 football team was supposed to play against Central African Republic women's national under-20 football team in the African Women U-20 World Cup 2010 Qualifying in 2010 but São Tomé and Príncipe withdrew and Central African Republic got a walkover in their scheduled matches against the country.
At the 1997 general election, Lim was a PAP candidate in the Tanjong Pagar Group Representation Constituency (Tanjong Pagar GRC), which was led by the late Lee Kuan Yew (who died in 2015) and was elected in a walkover. Lim served as Deputy Secretary-General of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) from 1997 to 1999.
The men in Black and White did surge for a comeback with 10 men as they reduced the margin in the 83rd min as Arthur Kouassi scored. However, East Bengal held onto the lead and kept their title hopes alive with 20 points from 10 matches with a game to go. East Bengal FC was supposed to face Calcutta Customs in the last match of the 2019–20 CFL on 29 September at the East Bengal Ground however the match was abandoned due to unplayable conditions due to heavy rainfall, which caused water-clogging inside the playing arena. The match was rescheduled on 3 October at the Kalyani Stadium however East Bengal FC did not show up and Customs were given a Walkover.

The Crystal Palace team from 1871–72 was thought to be a defunct former amateur club, but historians have found links to the Crystal Palace professional club which exists today, although this has still to be officially ratified. The team from Hitchin in the 1870s reformed to become the modern Hitchin Town in 1928. The leading Scottish club Queen's Park entered the competition and managed to reach the semi-finals without having to play a match, due to a combination of an inability to agree venue, opponents withdrawing from the competition and byes. After holding Wanderers to a draw in the semi-final, however, they could not afford to return to London for a replay and were themselves forced to withdraw, giving their opponents a walkover into the final.

In 2002 she debuted for the Austria Fed Cup team in a surprise win over the United States, away from home in Charlotte, North Carolina in the first round of the World Group. Prior to the tie, American star Jennifer Capriati was dismissed from the team for not complying with team rules, meaning that Fauth received a walkover win in the scheduled second match, giving Austria a 2–0 lead with Barbara Schwartz having already put them ahead by winning the opener. Possilpark were the lucky club to receive the only bye to the fourth round. The third round began on 1 November 1879 with a clutch of ties, included amongst them; Dumbarton's 5–0 win over Renton, Queen's Park's 5–1 triumph against Partick, Thornliebank's 1–0 defeat of Barrhead Rangers and Parkgrove's first match in the competition after they benefitted from a walkover and a bye in the previous rounds, a 6–2 defeat of Alexandra Athletic. Jamestown also recorded a 5–1 win against Lennox but it was to be the end of the road for the Dunbartonshire side. On 20 March 2016, SDP announced that Chee would stood as a candidate for the forthcoming by-election for the ward of Bukit Batok SMC held on 7 May, after incumbent David Ong vacated his seat due to an extramaritial affair involving another grassroots leader. During nomination day on 27 April, Chee was successfully nominated and faced the PAP's new candidate Murali Pillai (who previously contested the WP-held Aljunied GRC). Former SDP member Kwan Yue Keng also stated his intention to contest as independent, but later withdrew upon Chee's successful nomination, as part of an agreement from the People's Power Party to prevent a walkover. Despite the by-election defeat, an 11.78% swing towards SDP from the last election saw Chee's best performance score since 1997, at 38.79%.
Despite an early exit from the Cornwall Cup, St Austell embarked on a great run in the RFU Intermediate National Cup. After a successful amateur kickboxing career that included winning World Junior championship in 1997, World title in 1999 and a European professional kickboxing title in 2000, Povetkin won his first major boxing tournament at the Russian Championships in 2000 at the age of 21. This would be the beginning of several major amateur tournaments Povetkin would go on to win including; the Good Will Games in Brisbane, Australia in 2001; the 34th European Championship in 2002; the XII World Championship in 2003 held in Thailand; and the 35th European Championship in 2004. His amateur success would culminate in winning the gold medal at super- heavyweight (>91 kg) boxing at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, in a walkover match over Egyptian Mohamed Aly. After taking Olympic Gold, he concluded his amateur career with a record of 125–7, with all losses avenged.
Jimmy Forrest scored his debut League goal on 3 November 1888 at Turf Moor, Burnley when Blackburn Rovers defeated Burnley 7–1. Forrest made 19 league appearances, all at left-half, and scored one League goal. As a wing-half he played in a midfield that achieved big (three-League-goals-or-more) League wins on five separate occasions. (registration & fee required) as Blackburn finished the first league season in fourth place, a long way behind the champions Preston North End, who were now by far the strongest club in England, justly earning them the title of "The Invincibles". In the FA cup, after a victory over Accrington and a "walkover" past Swifts, Blackburn defeated Aston Villa 8–1 in the third round (with four goals from Jack Southworth) before going out in the semi-final to Wolverhampton Wanderers after a replay.

His appointment has caused controversy, as Halimah was the sole minority MP for Marsiling–Yew Tee GRC and a grassroots advisor is not the same as having an MP elected by residents of the constituency.
The 2019 Bill Beaumont County Championship Division 2 was the 18th version of the competition that is part of the annual English rugby union County Championship organised by the RFU for the tier 2 English counties. Each county drew its players from rugby union clubs from the third tier and below of the English rugby union league system (typically National League 1, National League 2 North or National League 2 South). The counties were divided into two regional sections with the winners of each meeting in the final held at Twickenham Stadium. At the end of the group stage, Leicestershire were dominant in Pool 1, winning all three games (albeit one which was a walkover), including an impressive win against a strong East Midlands side, while Surrey were equally impressive in topping Pool 2, also winning three out of three.

Donnelly qualified to compete in the men's welterweight event at the 2016 Summer Olympics to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, via his fourth- place ranking in the World Series of Boxing. Luczak stayed on in South America and played the Copa Petrobras series of challengers on the clay, where he won Montevideo beating Pablo Cuevas 6–3, 7–6 in the semis before getting a walkover from Nicolás Massú in the final.
The AFC directed Al-Talaba to play against Al-Riyadh of Saudi-Arabia but they too withdrew for the same reason, and that meant Al-Talaba had a walkover through the semi-finals. The National Federation of State High School Associations, however, also includes the general rule that all acts are legal unless otherwise explicitly stated; thus, the unfair act rule is only invoked in cases when specific rules have clearly been broken, but the penalty for the foul does not cancel the advantage gained by committing the foul. The National Football League defines two types of unfair acts, a palpably unfair act and an extraordinarily unfair act. The latter is for acts so extraordinary that the NFL Commissioner can levy fines, require the offending team to surrender draft picks, and suspend players. Just before 2012 began, Tsonga participated in the Abu Dhabi exhibition tournament in late December 2011, where he lost a match against David Ferrer. Tsonga then began his 2012 season at the 2012 Qatar Open as third seed. Three wins set up a meeting against Roger Federer in the semifinals. However, Federer announced an unexpected withdrawal from the tournament due to a back problem, which gave Tsonga a walkover into the final. However, against Japanese rookie Kei Nishikori, Tsonga lost a close five set match. Tsonga took some time off before entering the 2012 Open 13.
In the same season, the anti-doping committee decided that Legia player Roman Zub had played after doping before the match against Widzew Łódź. The player's urine sample was also tested in a laboratory in Moscow, where it was considered that increased testosterone levels were not the result of doping. The match was initially verified as a walkover for the Łódź team, but the decision of the PZPN games department was revoked by the president of the board. In the next season, Legia won the first triple crown in the history of Polish football.
