Capital Ward or Ward 17 (French: Quartier Capitale) is a city ward located in the centre of Ottawa, Ontario. Situated just south of downtown Ottawa, the ward includes the communities of Old Ottawa East, Old Ottawa South, the Glebe, Heron Park, Carleton University, and Riverside Out of all the wards currently in existence, Capital ward has existed the longest. Headquartered in Conway, Arkansas, Ward specialized in yellow school buses, alongside buses for other uses. Founded in 1933 by D.H. "Dave" Ward, the company was family-owned for nearly its entire existence. Among several innovations, Ward was the first manufacturer to perform a rollover test on a school bus, leading to changes in school bus body design.

Arnold Ward circa 1906 Huxley and Arnold family tree. Arnold Sandwith Ward (1876–1950) was an English journalist and Conservative Party politician. He served as the MP for the constituency of Watford between 1910 and 1918. Ward was the son of Humphry "Thomas" Ward, a fellow and tutor of Brasenose College and Mary Augusta Ward, a popular author; grandson of Tom Arnold; greatgrandson of Thomas Arnold, the famous headmaster of Rugby School.
