Charles Atagana Ntsana won bronze in the men's T11 100m. Christian Gobe won gold in the men's Shot put F54-55. Gobe represented Cameroon in May 2016 at the IPC Athletics Grand Prix, Nottwil, Switzerland, where he set an African record in the F55 men's shot put with a throw of 10.49 meters. Jessica da Silva Inchude (born 25 March 1996) is a Bissau-Guinean shot putter and discus thrower. At the 2016 African Championships she finished fourth in the shot put and ninth in the discus throw. At the 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games she won the gold medal in the discus and finished fourth in the shot put. She competed in the women's shot put event at the 2016 Summer Olympics, where she finished 36th with a distance of 15.15 metres.

André Tison (26 February 1885 – 25 December 1963) was a French track and field athlete who competed at the 1906, 1908, 1912 and 1920 Summer Olympics. In 1906 he finished fourth in the shot put, fifth in the freestyle discus throw, and 22nd in the standing long jump competition. Two years later he placed eighth in the discus throw, while his result in the shot put contest is unknown. Rebisz was always interested in sport but took up athletics seriously in 1992. He was selected for the Poland national team at the 1996 Summer Paralympics in Atlanta, entering the shot put, javelin and discus throw events in the F46 classification. Sten Gunnar Bergh (20 March 1909 – 25 January 1986) was a Swedish athlete who specialized in the shot put and discus throw. He competed in these events at the 1936 Summer Olympics and finished in ninth and seventh place, respectively. At the 1938 European Championships Bergh won a bronze medal in the discus and finished fifth in the shot put. He won the Swedish titles in the shot put in 1935–42 and 1937–41 and in the discus in 1943–44.

Phil Conway (born 24 January 1948) is an Irish athlete. He competed in the men's shot put at the 1972 Summer Olympics. For many years Conway was PE teacher, athletics coach and head of sport at Belvedere College, Dublin. In his career Conway won five Irish national titles in the discus, four in the Shot Put and one in the Hammer.

He was survived by his wife, and their son and daughter. His son, Shaun Pickering, represented Great Britain in the shot put at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, and won a bronze medal for Wales in the shot put at the 1998 Commonwealth Games. The Ron Pickering Memorial Fund was founded in 1991, and supports hundreds of young athletes each year.

Mounia Gasmi (born 2 May 1990) is a Paralympian athlete from Algeria competing mainly in F32 classification throwing events. Gasmi represented her country at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, entering both the F32-34 shot put and the F31/32/51 club throw events. She finished seventh in the shot put, but a best distance of 22.51 metres in the club throw saw her take the silver medal. As well as her Paralympic success Gasmi has qualified for four consecutive IPC World Championships winning one gold and three silver medals, two silvers in the shot put and a gold and silver in the club throw.

He represented Sweden in the discus at 2008 Summer Olympics, was a four-time competitor at the World Athletics Championships (2007, 2011, 2013, 2017), and competed at five consecutive editions of the European Athletics Championships from 2006 to 2016. At the Swedish Athletics Championships he won seven national titles in discus, and was an eight-time champion in the shot put (combined indoors and outdoors). Arrhenius is the son of Anders Arrhenius, who competed internationally in the shot put for Sweden.

Om Prakash Singh Karhana (born 11 January 1987) is an Indian shot putter. He trains at the Salwan Throws Academy, where he first began to learn how to shot put, and is supported by Olympic Gold Quest, a not-for-profit foundation to identify and support Indian athletes. He was originally a basketball player, but was approached by Lalit Bhanot, secretary of the Athletics Federation of India, to consider switching to the shot put. Om Prakash Karhana holds the Indian national record in shot put at 20.69 meters which he achieved in May 2012 at Szombathely, Hungary and he qualified for and competed at the 2012 London Olympics.

Zbigniew "Bishop" Dolegiewicz (July 8, 1953 – October 29, 2008) was a Canadian professional track and field athlete and coach who specialized in the shot put and the discus throw. A tall and muscular athlete, he won All-American honours while at the University of Texas and was the 1975 World University champion in the shot put. A silver medal at the 1975 Pan American Games was followed by his first Olympic appearance at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. He won a Commonwealth Games bronze on home turf in 1978 and also set a Canadian record of 20.83 m in the shot put that year.

She competed at the NCAA Outdoor Championships that season in both shot put and hammer throw. She did not achieve the same success in 2012: she was third at the MVC Indoor Championships in both shot and weight throw, then did not defend her NCAA title, coming fourth in the weight throw. He represented his nation Bulgaria, as a 35-year-old, in the shot put at the 2004 Summer Olympics, and also trained as a member of the athletics squad for the sport club Dobrudzha in his native Dobrich under his coach and mentor Ivan Petrov. In 2006, Kostadinov threw a personal best of 20.10 metres to seal the twenty-fifth spot in men's shot put at the European Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden. Kostadinov qualified for the Bulgarian squad in the men's shot put at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.

Magdalena Catherina Swanepoel (7 November 1930 – 2 June 2007) was a South African track and field athlete who competed in the shot put and javelin throw events. She was born in Hopetown, a town in the north-west part of South Africa in Thembelihle Local Municipality. She spent most of her life in Pretoria. Over her sporting career she broke the South African record six times in the javelin and on ten occasions for the shot put, ending with lifetime bests of for the javelin and for the shot put. She was a 13-time national champion in throwing events, including eight javelin titles.
