Usama, one of the fighters who went along, killed a man, after he had pronounced the testimony of God's Oneness at the last moment just before killing him (see Shahadah) to which incident Muhammad commented addressing his Companions: "Would you rip open his heart to discern whether he is truthful or a liar?" This was the 4th surprise raid against the Banu Thalabah.

In March 1967 the oil tanker Torrey Canyon ran aground on Seven Stones Reef near Lands End and started to leak thousands of tons of crude oil into the sea, putting nearby beaches at risk of pollution. In an attempt to minimise the damage to the environment, the Buccaneers of 800 NAS along with those of the training squadron 736 NAS were ordered to destroy the tanker and its cargo. Flying from RNAS Brawdy in Wales on 28 March 1967, eight Buccaneers dropped 42000 lbs of high explosive bombs and achieved a 75% success rate. The aim was to rip open the hull of the tanker to release its cargo then set fire to it on the open sea, destroying the oil before it reached the beaches.

ATDA, with its payload fairing still attached, as seen from Gemini 9The crew described how the shroud's explosive bolts had fired but, because the quick disconnect lanyards that were designed to unlock the electrical connectors to the explosive bolts had not been hooked up, the electrical wiring to the bolts held the two 1-1/2 inch wide steel shroud retaining bands together. If the electrical wires were cut on one side of the shroud, the two steel bands would immediately straighten and, being still held together by the wires on the opposite side of the shroud, it was difficult to predict the path of the released bands. Their ability to rip open a space suit caused the salvage mission to be abandoned. At the Cape, backup pilot Buzz Aldrin suggested that Cernan cut the electric wires with surgical scissors from the equipment pack.

Remedy Drive were formed as The Aslan Band in 1995 as a three-piece all-brother group, before a fourth brother, Paul, joined in 1998. They released their first album, Remedy, in 1998 under their original name. After changing their name to Remedy, they released four more independent albums: Remedy (The Blue One) (1999), Remedy (The Red One) (2001), Remedy: A Live Album (2003), and Magnify (2004). They changed their name again in 2004, this time to "Remedy Drive". They released Rip Open the Skies, which was released on April 25, 2006 and which has sold over 20,000 copies to date. The band toured primarily in the Midwest and West Coast of the United States, playing over 200 concerts per year. In 2008, the band was signed with Word Records and on August 28, 2008, they released Daylight Is Coming which was produced by Ian Eskelin followed by an Expanded Edition and an EP released on March 30, 2010. On April 6, 2011, the band's website announced that all of the Zach brothers except David (Daniel, Philip and Paul Zach) would be leaving the band, to be replaced by Dave Mohr, Timmy Jones, and Corey Horn.
