Sinha who had been admitted in a private hospital in Patna was making satisfactory recovery after the surgery but her condition suddenly worsened and she died on 19 December 2016, at the age of 91. Her Patna residence witnessed a beeline of eminent politicians, cutting across party lines, who came to see her for one last time while paying floral tribute to her. Bihar Governor Ram Nath Kovind, Nitish Kumar, former Chief Ministers of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Jagannath Mishra, BJP leaders Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Mangal Pandey, Sushil Kumar Modi and others, Congress leaders Ashok Choudhary, Subodh Kant Sahay and others, RJD leaders Shivanand Tiwari, Ramchandra Purvey, Mundrika Singh Yadav and others, JDU ministers from the Cabinet were among many who visited her Patna home to pay their last respects.

However, his translation of the Bible along with 200 manuscripts were secretly preserved and read by followers, and have survived to the present day. However, Wycliffe's Bible was not printed until 1731, when Wycliffe was historically conceived as the forefather of the English Reformation.

Li Ching-Yuen spent most of his life in the mountains and was skilled in Qigong. He worked as an herbalist, selling lingzhi, goji berry, wild ginseng, he shou wu and gotu kola along with other Chinese herbs, and lived off a diet of these herbs and rice wine. It was generally accepted in Sichuan, that Li was fully literate as a child, and that by his tenth birthday had travelled to Gansu, Shanxi, Tibet, Vietnam, Thailand and Manchuria with the purpose of gathering herbs, continuing with this occupation for a century, before beginning to purvey instead herbs gathered by others. It was after this he relocated to Kai Xian and there Li supposedly, at 72 years of age, in 1749, joined the army of provincial Commander-in-Chief Yeuh Jong Chyi, as a teacher of martial arts and as a tactical advisor.

Srinivas Aravamudan notes Oak to be a 'mythistorian' whose work resorted to exploiting comparative philology in the generation of delusional etymologies—associating Sanskrit sound-alikes with foreign terms such as Vatican=vatika (hermitage), Christianity=Krishna-niti (the way of Krishna), Abraham as an aberration of Brahma -- to purvey an Islamophobic and anti-Christian agenda under the covers of Hindutva. Edwin Bryant in his work on Indo-Aryan theory describes Oak to be a self-styled historian whose works suffer from an ubiquitous and very poor standard of professionalism and critical methodology and who fit the definition of a crack-pot. Giles Tillotson describes Oak's work on Taj Mahal as a "startling piece of pseudo-scholarship", which was plainly a work of polemical fantasy intended to denigrate Islam and did not merit any serious scholarly attention. Art historian Rebecca Brown described Oak's books as "revisionist history as subtle as Captain Russell's smirk" (referring to a character in the Hindi movie Lagaan).
