Benjamin Meed and his wife Vladka Meed helped to organize the first World Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors in Israel in June 1981. Josh Emmons is an American novelist who lives in Los Angeles. A graduate of Oberlin College and the Iowa Writers' Workshop (2002), he published his first book, The Loss of Leon Meed, in 2005. Set in his native northern California, about the varied responses of ten small-town residents to a stranger's mysterious appearances and disappearances, it was a Book Sense pick and winner of a James Michener-Copernicus Society of America Award, and has been translated into several languages. The Benjamin and Vladka Meed Registry of Holocaust Survivors was established in 1981 to document the names of survivors who came to the Americas after World War II. It is the only registry of its kind. In 1993, it was moved to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM). In cooperation with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the American Gathering continues to manage the database and to seek new registrants via its quarterly newspaper Together and its website, among other venues. The Registry includes over 200,000 records related to survivors and their families and is a resource for Holocaust historians and scholars, as well as families looking for lost relatives.

Anees Mansour Wadi, an Iraqi expatriate, set up front companies all over Europe, which could be listed as end-users for a broad range of technology and items. In Britain, he teamed with the British businessman Roy Ricks, to form Meed International, Ltd, which was renamed to Technology Engineering Group (TEG). According to Iraq's declaration to the IAEA Action Team, Iraqis went to the United Kingdom and worked with Wadi to procure items for the gaseous diffusion and the Beams-type centrifuge uranium enrichment programs. TEG bought a total of 75 items for these programs at a cost of about 1.25 million British pounds, and shipped the items to the Nassr.

The Meeds helped plan the 1981 World Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors held in Israel, the first event of its kind. That same year, the organizers established the American Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors to prepare for a 1983 gathering in Washington, D.C., which attracted 20,000 survivors and their families. Meed was able to convince the Capital Centre to waive the fees for use of the facilities, but they were told that the payments to the union employees who work the venue would not be included in the waiver. After the event, the union employees, after witnessing the connections of survivors at the event, said that they also waived the charge for their services.

Bartolus defined natural nobility by reference to Aristotle, who in his Politics explains how some are marked out for freedom by their virtues (and specifically by their capacity to rule), and are so distinguished from the mass of men whose talents fit them only for a servile role. Those free men whose virtues thus fit them to rule Bartolus defines as the natural nobility. With regard to natural nobility, Bartolus applauded Dante Alighieri's argument in his Convivio that nobility does not derive from ancient riches adorned with fine manners, but is the meed of individual virtue. Bartolus argues that the prince should strive to make his dominion a true mirror of God's own by advancing only those who are naturally noble (see Maurice Keen, Chivalry, p. 149).

Gisdar AgaThis is not a name, but the Italian transcription of his title, dizdar agha, "fortress commander" or Albanes Gisdar (died 1500) was an Ottoman commander of Albanian origin defending the Castle of St. George during the Siege of the Castle of Saint George on the island of Kefalonia against the Spanish and Venetians led by Benedetto Pesaro and Gonzalo Fernández de Córdoba in 1500. Gisdar had 700 jannisaries under his command. When he was required to surrender he allegedly responded “I return you thanks, Christians. I return you thanks for being the cause of so much glory, as well as for apportioning us, whether alive or nobly slain, such a laurel meed for our fidelity to Bajazet our emperor.

In September 2001, he was appointed deputy prime minister for Production Affairs. On 7 March 2004, he became the deputy prime minister for Libya (Assistant Secretary of the General People's Committee). Prominent New York lawyer, and future United States Secretary of State, Henry Stimson, responding to a New York Times editorial criticising Ament and the other missionaries in China, wrote in a letter published in The Times on 21 March 1901: "In our time no group of Americans have won no more enduring honor for their country or done the world a greater benefit than have our missionaries in North China. In 1889, a new company, the Isis Investment Corporation (which at that stage was working the Torbanlea Colliery), made approaches to the government regarding the construction of a private railway from Torbanlea to the mouth of the Burrum River on terms which were similar to those granted to Vernon Co. some years earlier. This proposal also failed to eventuate, and although interest in a railway did not wane, there seemed little likelihood of the government or a private enterprise building such a line. In 1895, the Queensland government passed the "Railway Construction Guarantee Act", the main provision of this act being that the government and local authorities would guarantee to meed half the loss incurred of share the profits. Though there was some local opposition in such use of taxpayers' money, the Burrum Divisional Board, who were keen to see the railway built, agreed to act as the other guarantor.

George lectures frequently on projects, particularly the Burj Khalifa and served as Managing Partner and Chief Architect for the world's tallest building. As much of his most noted work was focused in the Middle East in the later stages of his career, he was named one of the six most influential architects in Saudi Arabia by Middle East Economic Digest (MEED) 2010, Architect of the Year in 2011 by Middle East Architect Magazine and one of the top ten influential international architects in the Middle East by designMENA in 2015. He was honored with Fellowship for the American Institute of Architects(FAIA) in 2009 which is given to the top few percent in the architecture profession in the US and is one of the few US architects holding a coveted membership in the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). When George’s career with Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, LLP began in 1974, his first 10 years with the firm focused primarily on domestic projects, including work in Boston, Los Angeles and Chicago.
