Its production borrows from Selena's "Dreaming of You" (1995) and "Man in the Mirror" (1987) by Michael Jackson. "Versace on the Floor" is similar to the sound of New Edition, Freddie Jackson's "Rock Me Tonight (For Old Times Sake)" (1985) and the early works of Michael Jackson. Chris DeVille of Stereogum said it was Boyz II Men's "I'll Make Love To You" "repurposed" for the Dirty Dancing soundtrack, describing it as "a power ballad rising to Valhalla from a soft bed of Casios". The single also has "Prince-like flourishes and frills".
"Hoochie Coochie Man" represents Waters' recording transition from an electrified, but more traditional Delta-based blues of the late 1940s–early 1950s to a newer Chicago blues ensemble sound. The song was important to Dixon's career and signaled a change as well – Chess became convinced of Dixon's value as a songwriter and secured his relationship as such with the label. Waters soon followed up with several variations on the sixteen-bar stop-time arrangement written by Dixon. These include "I Just Want to Make Love to You", "I'm Ready", and "I'm a Natural Born Lover".

The song begins with a man describing his loneliness, when a woman suddenly appears in his bed and encourages him to make love to her. Within it, women give their love to men, thus inspiring the latter to greater cultural creativity, and providing the former with an emotional identity of the sort denied them in the larger world. Yet men, as a result of the Oedipus complex and the incest taboo, are unable to love: they must degrade the women they make love to, in order to distinguish them from the mother, the first and forbidden love object. They cannot simultaneously respect and be sexually attracted to women. This is why the "sexual revolution" has not meant liberation for women, who are still bound by the double standard and the need to combine love and sexuality.

Michael Jackson's "You Are Not Alone" became the first single to debut at number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 and holds the Guinness World Record as the first song in the 37-year history of the Billboard Hot 100 to debut at number one. In addition, "Fantasy", "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)" by Whitney Houston, and "One Sweet Day" also debuted at number-one on the Billboard Hot 100.
Consequently, Boyz II Men is among the music industry's elite with regard to time spent at number one in Billboard history with 50 cumulative weeks, ranking fourth behind Presley, The Beatles, and Carey. Furthermore, when "On Bended Knee" took the number one spot away from "I'll Make Love to You", Boyz II Men became only the third artists ever (after The Beatles and Presley) to replace themselves at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. These achievements were enough to earn Boyz II Men recognition as Billboard magazine's biggest boy band during the period of 1987 to 2012. Boyz II Men has received four Grammy Awards.

They don't get into the Paramount by mistake and Walt Disney and associates have combined pen and sound effects for beaucoup laughs." The Film Daily (June 22, 1930) said: "Another of the first-grade cartoon comedies turned out by Walt Disney, and it's a pippin of the front rank. Sound effects are blended into the pen-and- ink creations in such a way that the result is sure-fire for laughs, to say nothing of the unique and unusual nature of the performance." Motion Picture News (Aug 23, 1930) said: "Mickey is a cowboy in this and rides to a saloon to make love to a rodent senorita.
Her 143-page-long book How to Make Love to a Man became a best-seller in 1981. The book took two years for Penney to research, which included interviewing more than 200 men and reading numerous books, but her biggest challenge was writing it in a tone that would be acceptable to the mass market. Clarkson Potter gave an advance of $75,000 for the book, its largest to that time, but wanted extensive changes after Penney delivered the initial manuscript. The book was published on May 22, 1981, and had sold 130,000 copies within its first five months, and had paperback rights sold to Dell Publishing for $275,000.

The epilogue briefly explores Marcello's conflicted responses to his role in the murders of Quadri and Lino, including his attempts to rationalize away his culpability. The epilogue takes place years later, on the night that Mussolini falls from power. Giulia reveals that she has long suspected that Marcello was involved in the murders, but her sorrow is more for their own safety than for Marcello's victims or his duplicity. The two go out for a drive and walk that evening, and while Giulia tries to convince Marcello to make love to her in a wooded area, a stranger arrives and calls to Marcello by name.

When Charles, an older suitor from Frances's lawn bowls group, visits that night, Frances locks the door to the boy's room while she rebuffs the man's advances until he leaves. She then inserts the diaphragm and enters the boy's room and asks him to make love to her but is distraught to find that the bed is merely stuffed with dolls.
Barrett learned to play the piano and used that skill as the basis for his melodies and songs. He was discovered at age eleven and signed by producer Troy Patterson, after singing "I'll Make Love to You" at a Coppin State College talent show. Mario attended Milford Mill Academy up until the tenth grade where he was inspired by his music teacher, during his early teen years, and was offered a record deal at the age of fourteen, signing with Clive Davis' J Records. His musical influences include Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, Nat King Cole, Brian McKnight, Boyz II Men, Michael Jackson, Usher, and Joe.
The objection at the time was to the lack of "moral weight". This, Connolly attributes to his classical education, when he discovered by the use of cribs that the dry Latin he read was the "ironical, sensual and irreligious opinions of a middle-aged Roman, one whose chief counsel to youth was to drink and make love to the best of its ability". The central metaphor, the rock pool, was chosen because it represented a repository of life on a seashore, stranded in the rocks after the tide had gone out – an allusion to Trou-sur-mer and its inhabitants. Most of its characters were based on real individuals whose existence was precarious.
He then returns, and Bobbie Lee finally submits to her passions at a secluded spot near the bridge and encourages him to make love to her. Owing to his guilt, however, Billy Joe cannot consummate their relationship. He admits to Bobbie Lee that he has been with a man, and when she tries to reason that he was drunk, so maybe didn't have complete control of himself and didn't really know what was going on, he confesses that he knew what he was doing, knew it was wrong, and did it anyway because he wanted to. Tearfully, he bids her an enigmatic goodbye, and subsequently kills himself by jumping off the bridge spanning the Tallahatchie River.
This album produced several more hit singles, including "992 Arguments," "Sunshine," "Time To Get Down," and the #1 pop smash, "Love Train." During the remainder of the 1970s, the O'Jays continued releasing hit singles, including "Put Your Hands Together" (Pop #10), "For the Love of Money" (Pop #9), "Give the People What They Want," "Let Me Make Love To You," "I Love Music" (Pop #5), "Livin' for the Weekend," "Message in Our Music," and "Darlin' Darlin' Baby (Sweet Tender Love)." Original member William Powell died of cancer in 1977 at age 35. After adding Sammy Strain (born December 9, 1939) (of Little Anthony and the Imperials), the O'Jays continued recording, though with limited success.
The assassin finds out about Hill's and Sigerson's meeting and reports it to an obviously math-challenged Professor Moriarty. Sigerson attends one of Hill's performances and saves her from another would-be assassin by injecting himself into the play from the audience and directing Hill through a musical number. He then saves her again when two hansom cabs accost her on her way home; the trauma prompts Hill to temporarily stop cooperating in the case. Sigerson (dismayed that Sherlock got credit for saving Hill in the newspaper) is invited the next day to her dressing room, where he uses the power of seduction to both make love to her and find out further details.

The plot thickens as Colonel Townley's beloved Berinthia comes on the scene; he sees her as a frustratingly capricious woman, but she mainly acts this way because she wants to severely test her admirer's fidelity before accepting his proposals, not satisfied with his previous loose way of life. In anger, to make her jealous he pretends to make love to Amanda himself, who rigidly repulses him, and not comprehending his game, Loveless in turn begins to persecute Berinthia. Timothy Gibbs (August 3, 1990–January 27, 1992) When the Blue Sky Brigade was introduced in 1990, Dash made his first appearance as one of the supporters of the movement, also working as a doctor. To help out the brigade, Dash hired Julia Wainwright to help him fight the court battle against Capwell Enterprises, the supporters of the Oasis project, which would harm the local environment. Mason Capwell, who had started drinking again, suspected that Julia and Dash were having an affair, so his marriage ended, and Julia and Dash spent a night together. A day later, Julia regretted making love to Dash, but he, thinking she didn't really believe it, forced her to make love to him again.

Electronically Tested is the second album by Mungo Jerry. The UK release was on Dawn Records, and it appeared with slightly different track listings in other countries, as many territories outside the UK had already added the group’s first hit "In The Summertime" to the running order on the eponymous first album. All songs were written by the group's front man Ray Dorset, apart from an extended version of the Willie Dixon blues standard "I Just Wanna Make Love To You". In some other countries, pressings included the Paul King song, "Black Bubonic Plague", and the album was also retitled Memoirs of a Stockbroker, as the UK title (taken from an advertisement for contraceptives) was deemed too risqué.
When an inebriated John, whose infidelities have already been revealed, attempts to make love to his wife later that night, Nettie rejects his advances, suggesting he go to "one of his whores", and breaks the vase of flowers, prompting her husband to reveal it really was Timmy who bought them. The following morning, while John is at Sunday Mass, Timmy accuses his mother of trying to make him choose between his parents, and she goes out to allow both of them time to calm down. When she returns, she finds John arguing with their half-drunk son. Realizing the domestic situation is not likely to improve, Timmy announces he is leaving home, a decision his parents grudgingly accept.
He tells her one evening that he wishes to make love to her, a request she denies, though not entirely in opposition to the idea. Billy helps Phyllis realize her own dream when she applies for a loan to open her beauty salon, introducing him (by the name Bill) as her friend and associate, when questioned about her business acumen. Billy balks during a moment alone with Phyllis, stating that he knows nothing at all about business, and believes Phyllis to be using him. However, the bank officer, after seeing Billy's obvious signs of aging, is convinced that he's a credible partner with experience, which minimizes the risk of giving Phyllis the loan, which is then approved.
Hero and Leander is the Greek myth relating the story of Hero (, Hērṓ; ), a priestess of Aphrodite (Venus in Roman mythology) who dwelt in a tower in Sestos on the European side of the Hellespont, and Leander (, Léandros), a young man from Abydos on the opposite side of the strait. Leander fell in love with Hero and would swim every night across the Hellespont to spend time with her. Hero would light a lamp at the top of her tower to guide his way. Succumbing to Leander's soft words and to his argument that Aphrodite, as the goddess of love and sex, would scorn the worship of a virgin, Hero "allowed" him to make love to her—that is, she did not refuse any longer.
Pet Sounds is sometimes considered a Brian Wilson solo album, including by Wilson himself, who later referred to it as his "first solo album" and "a chance to step outside the group and shine". When the other Beach Boys returned to the studio on February 9, they were presented with a substantial portion of a new album, with music that was in many ways a jarring departure from their earlier style. Jardine explained that "it took us quite a while to adjust to [the new material] because it wasn't music you could necessarily dance to—it was more like music you could make love to." Adding to their concerns was the album's complexity and the implausibility of recreating the music in their live performances.
Heather Phares of Allmusic reviewed the Red album, and stated "T'Pau returns with Red, its first album since 1991. The group's smooth pop sounds remain intact on songs like "With a Little Luck," "Now That You're Gone," "Giving Up the Ghost," and "Let It All Fall." In the Classic Rock Magazine of January 1999, Dave Ling reviewed the album, mentioning the song and one of the single's B-Sides, stating "Eight years on, T'Pau has very much become a vehicle for flame-haired siren Carol Decker, who co-wrote all the material, handled the production and now owns the name, all rights reserved. Sonically, T'Pau still favour smooth, occasionally faceless walls of melody best exemplified on "Now That You're Gone" and "Make Love to Me".

But before he could do that, he had to grow up and learn how to love the ladies! As the secret caretaker of such an influential future leader, not only does Hanzo use vast and varied ninja talents, but in living closely with Ieyasu, he forms a close friendship with the young shōgun. The quality of their relationship is unforgettably crystallized by Hanzo's fulfillment of a challenging but enticing task Ieyasu sets him: to demonstrate how to make love to a woman, which neither youngster has ever done.
The Marriage Guidance Counsellor sketch is from the second Monty Python's Flying Circus episode, "Sex and Violence", first broadcast late on Sunday, 12 October 1969. Written by Eric Idle, it was also featured in the 1971 spinoff film And Now for Something Completely Different. The sketch features Michael Palin and Carol Cleveland as a married couple (Arthur and Deirdre Pewtey) and Eric Idle as their marriage counsellor. The marriage guidance counsellor flirts with a receptive Mrs Pewtey rather than giving the couple advice, and Mr Pewtey fails to react to this behaviour and stand up for himself, even to the point where he meekly leaves the room when asked by the counsellor, who is clearly about to make love to Mrs Pewtey.
His delinquency is also influenced by his friendship with Adrian, who was molded long ago into a sociopath by his mother's sexual abuse. When Adrian tries to expose Ava, she reveals, that she is not Adrian's biological mother; she told Matt that she and her "son" had a prior conversation about the abuse ending in sex (with Ava clearly guilty about the incest and Adrian begging for his "mother" to "make love" to him) the shock of these revelations causes Adrian to run away and Ava becomes more and more depressed and withdrawn from Matt. At the end of the second season, Ava has a confrontation with Christian Troy over her relationship with Matt. During the confrontation, Ava begins taunting Christian sexually, and he "rapes" her.
It is not until Todd tells her he had "been all over the world" trying to erase her from his mind and he could not, that she begins to understand his train of thought; it was his way of showing how deep his love runs for her. Having made his devotion known to her by telling her that he would make the world end for her, Todd brushes off the notion of typical love. He begs Téa to leave town with him, and although frustrated that Todd refuses to take this time to make love to her, Téa finally takes Todd's hand and leaves with him to start a new life. In June 2000, Todd returns to Llanview, stating Téa left him.
The act was a disaster, but instead of firing her, Fehnova put together a new act. At the end of the dance, a stagehand pulled a fishing rod attached to St. Cyr's G-string, which flew into the balcony as the lights went dim. This act was known as The Flying G, and such creative shows became St. Cyr's trademark. Over the ensuing years and in a variety of different venues, many of St. Cyr's acts were memorable, with names like "The Wolf Woman", "Afternoon of a Faun", "The Ballet Dancer", "In a Persian Harem", "The Chinese Virgin", as well as "Suicide" (where she tried to woo a straying lover by revealing her body), and "Jungle Goddess" (in which she appeared to make love to a parrot).
"All I Wanna Do" is a song performed by Sheryl Crow and written by Wyn Cooper, Sheryl Crow, David Baerwald, Bill Bottrell and Kevin Gilbert, with lyrics adapted from Cooper's 1987 poem "Fun". It was Crow's breakthrough hit from her 1993 debut album Tuesday Night Music Club. The song is Crow's biggest US hit, peaking at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 behind "I'll Make Love to You" by Boyz II Men for six consecutive weeks from October 8 to November 12, 1994, and it also topped the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. It was the winner of the 1995 Grammy for Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and was nominated for Song of the Year.
As described in a film magazine, Susy Faraday Jones (Gish), daughter of a wealthy and none too indulgent father, owns a railroad that runs to the seashore and, in order to improve the schedule, she cuts off the town of Rivera as a stop. Two young men in her employ, her general manager and superintendent, each attempt to make love to her, much to that bored young woman's disgust. She meets Scoop McCready (Barthelmess), a reporter, in whom she takes an unusual interest. Soon they are engaged, but when he asks her father Bradford Warrington Jones (Fawcett) for her hand and is peremptorily ordered out of the house, he decides he will have nothing further to do with the rich girl.
With only a few months left to live, Billy hopes to realize three goals: He wants to drive a car, play his saxophone in a jazz band; and to make love to a woman for the first time. He also harbors a desire to see his long-estranged father one last time. Due to the sensitive nature of his parents' relationship and to protect her from his degenerative condition, Billy chooses not to tell Nancy about his wishes, setting out on his own to see his wishes fulfilled. Billy finds the key to two of his wishes when he meets Phyllis (Season Hubley), a sassy young woman with dreams of her own, one of which is to open a beauty salon.
According to Jeffers biographer James Karman: Cawdor's story, set within the rugged terrain of Big Sur, unfolds as a convincing local tragedy. The plot itself, however, derives from Greek mythology, where Phaedra provokes her husband Theseus to kill his son Hippolytus because of the latter's unwillingness to make love to her. Desire, rejection, and false accusation also factor into the biblical story of Joseph and Potiphar's wife. Other associations include Cawdor's name, which links him to Macbeth, Thane of Cawdor; his violent, manipulated jealousy, which links him to Othello; his self-inflicted blindness, prefigured in the act of Oedipus; and, in the case of Hood, a wound in the thigh that connects him to Attis and the priests of Cybele.
The nurse also says that if she has anything she has always wanted to do her whole life but not being able to yet, she should "do them now". Fearing that her days are numbered, Susan decides to let every minute in her life last and she and Mike decide to go on a picnic in the very same forest where they got married privately years ago. As the two begin to make love to each other, Civil War reenactors interrupt them, revealing that Susan and Mike have accidentally stumbled on a film set. As one of the actors order them to leave, Mike retaliates by telling him of Susan's life-threatening condition and that they are trying to make the best of their marriage as Susan is dying.
" Jim Farber of New York Daily News cited the album as a return from her previous studio album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel (2009), which Fader described as a "disastrous", Farber noted the album's musical content as containing "grand balladry, and formal melodies." Melissa Maerz of Entertainment Weekly, noted "nostalgia" to be a big and recurring theme both lyrically and musically, continuing to comment on this saying the "arrangements that borrow from Inner Life's disco rave-up 'I'm Caught Up (In a One Night Love Affair)' and the O'Jays' Philly-soul classic 'Let Me Make Love to You'." Eric Henderson of Slant Magazine noted the album's lyrics to be "personal, crazy. Crazy personal," Henderson continued calling the album's lyrical content an "deliberately confusing innocence with insight, obliviousness with bliss.
The impulsive Elizabeth defies her parents and marries a poet, Lawrence Kirbridge, but he turns out to have no interest in sex and arranges for his publisher to make love to Elizabeth, and a child is conceived In Winter 1908, she becomes involved with a group of socialist poets, and upsets her parents by inviting them to tea. She also, under the influence of one member, Evelyn Larkin (Georgia Brown), accrues a bill of over £4 on shoes for street children, then refuses to pay for them. Her father intervenes, and pays for the shoes. After one argument with her parents, she runs away from home to stay with her friend Henrietta Winchmore, and is only discovered after Rose is forced to tell Hudson where Elizabeth is staying.
One reviewer points out that their first album, and its follow-up, Back Door Men, represent far greater diversity: "(The Gloria album) positively rocks with a raw energy of a band straight out of the teen clubs, playing with a total abandon and an energy level that seems to explode out of the speakers. Equal parts Rolling Stones, Yardbirds, Who, and snotty little Chicago-suburb bad boys, the Shadows of Knight could easily put the torch to Chess blues classics, which make up the majority of the songs included here. Their wild takes on "I Just Want to Make Love to You," "Oh Yeah," and "I Got My Mojo Working" rank right up there with any British Invasion band's version from the same time period."Cub Koda, [ Review of Gloria album]; www.allmusic.com.
However, perhaps he/she is not a real character but merely a metaphorical tool to reveal the internal struggles of both Matthew and Lisa (who also has taken Frank as her therapist), an idea enhanced by Frank's last narration that turns out to be an audition for Matthew. In the second act, we get a retelling of the events (by Matthew to Frank) from the beginning of the affair. This still non-linear process deteriorates slowly into several nightmarish scenes with Lisa letting her husband leave the rehearsal room (so Adrian can make love to her) or Matthew getting scolded by his wife and Adrian after being forced to watch them in bed. Comedic relief is provided by the appearance of Cory, who initially introduces herself as a "private eye" for Adrian's suspecting wife.
The track contains no proper vocals, instead using spoken words played at half-speed to invoke images of interstellar space travel. In addition to jazz elements, Unterberger identified Hendrix's use of surf music motifs in the track that are reminiscent of earlier works by the Ventures, a group from the Pacific Northwest that Hendrix would have heard during his childhood. Hendrix described "Manic Depression" as "ugly times music"; during a live performance he explained the meaning of the lyrics: "It's a story about a cat wishing he could make love to music instead of the same old everyday woman." The song is unusual in that its written in triple meter, or time, which is the time signature commonly associated with a waltz; most rock music is written in .
However, when Shaw performed both songs on a British television show, "Girl Don't Come" drew the best reaction and radio airplay: it was as "Girl Don't Come" that the single entered the UK chart (dated 12 December 1964) to peak at No. 3 in the week of 23 January 1965. Although not one of Shaw's three UK No. 1's, "Girl Don't Come" is widely regarded as Shaw's signature hit and – unlike "Puppet on a String" – the singer has grown to appreciate the track to which she initially had an aversion. "Girl Don't Come" has also been recorded by Debby Boone, Cher, Ronnie Dyson (as the B-side to "(If You Let Me Make Love to You Then) Why Can't I Touch You?"), Eddie Rambeau and Ronnie Spector.
The protocol of the Inquisition states how the fisherwife and the other women flew through the air on goats to: > a land called Benevento which belongs to the Pope and is situated in the > kingdom of Naples. There was a field and in its center a platform with two > chairs. On one was a red teenage boy and on the other a beautiful woman, > whom the called the Queen, and the man was the king. The first time she came > there -she was eight- the "ensign" and the other women in her company told > her that she must kneel and worship the king and the queen and to all they > commanded for they could help her and give her riches, beauty and young men > to make love to.

According to historian Hugo Vickers, Pinna Cruger (1896–1950), wife of a millionaire haberdasher, Bertram Cruger, and possibly mistress, for a time, of the Prince of Wales, later Edward VIII, "backed off Duff Cooper when she detected that he was happily married" (quoted by Valentine Low in The Times, 7 December 2013). Bertram Cruger was an admirer of Cooper's wife Diana, the two having met in New York City: editorial footnote in The Duff Cooper Diaries 1915–1951, ed John Julius Norwich (2005), page 197. She informed Cooper in 1947, following a weekend in the country with Anthony Eden, at which the only other guest was the French Ambassador to Britain, that Eden "never stops trying to make love to her".Duff Cooper, diary, 24 November 1947: The Duff Cooper Diaries 1915–1951, ed John Julius Norwich (2005).
As Red Dwarf begins to slow down, Lister sees a future echo of himself from nearer to the present who is holding baby Jim and Bexley, and the present Lister takes the photograph of the Lister holding the babies, which had previously been seen on the bunkroom wall in a future echo. In "Balance of Power" (1988), Lister is revealed to have pined after Kochanski; Lister mentioning that he had always been crazy about Kochanski but never acted on his feelings to ask her out or make love to her. Lister asks Holly why Rimmer was brought back as a hologram instead of Kochanski. Holly explains that this is because Rimmer was the best person to keep Lister sane, and that the two had shared fourteen million words between each other, compared to the 173 words Lister shared with Kochanski.
The performances include "Wedding to the Dirt, Wedding to Lake Kallavesi, Wedding to the Coal, Wedding to the Rocks, Wedding to the Snow, Wedding to the Moon, Wedding to the Appalachian Mountains, Wedding to the Earth, and Wedding to the Sea", to date. The intention, according to Sprinkles, is to "…shift the metaphor from ‘Earth as Mother’ to ‘Earth as Lover´" Sprinkles and Stephens have performed a two women show 25 Ways to Make Love to the Earth (Theatre Piece) at the Kosmos Theatre in Vienna in 2010 to demonstrate how to "make love with the earth", including talking, singing, dancing, and stroking natural objects. The performances are educational as well as self-promoting of the movement. The aesthetic strategies of sexecology are influenced by Joseph Beuys' concept of social sculpture, which sees art as having the potential to transform society.
In James Whale's 1937 fictional biopic The Great Garrick, Brian Aherne, as David Garrick, performs part of the final scene of Hamlet, in full eighteenth-century garb. In Ernst Lubitsch's 1942 To Be or Not to Be, the title soliloquy becomes a subtle running gag: whenever Jack Benny's character—the pompous actor Joseph Tura—begins the speech, a member of the audience loudly walks out: usually to make love to Tura's wife, played by Carole Lombard. In the 1955 film Prince of Players, a biography of Edwin Booth, Richard Burton appears in the title role and performs several scenes from Hamlet. The 1969 Robert Bresson film A Gentle Woman has the wife and husband attending a performance; in which we see the character Elle engrossed in the final scene of the play. Shelley Long's character plays Hamlet in the 1987 film Outrageous Fortune.
Hide and Seek (1973) was a meta-fictional novel exploring the relationship between reader and author and contains a central protagonist, 'Daniel Miller', who is convinced he is the plaything of an omniscient author. This concept forms the core of Potter's next two novels, and portions of Hide and Seek would reappear in several of his television plays, especially Follow the Yellow Brick Road (1972) and The Singing Detective. Ticket to Ride (1986) was written between drafts of The Singing Detective and concerns a herbithologist who is unable to make love to his wife unless he imagines her as a prostitute. This was followed in 1987 by Blackeyes: a study of a model whose abusive uncle, a writer, has stolen details of his niece's experiences in the glamour industry as the basis for his latest potboiler.
His first solo hit "Brown Eyed Girl" was performed but not included on the album until the reissue in 2008. M. Mark called the album "an intelligent selection of songs that draws on six of Morrison's records and five of the musicians he learned from." These musicians were Bobby Bland ("Ain't Nothing You Can Do"), Ray Charles ("I Believe to My Soul"), Sam Cooke ("Bring It On Home to Me"), two songs by Sonny Boy Williamson II ("Help Me" and "Take Your Hands Out of My Pocket") and a cover of a Willie Dixon song, "I Just Want to Make Love to You", which was popularized by Muddy Waters. Unlike most live rock albums, there was no studio overdubbing allowed by Morrison, which resulted in the exclusion of "Moondance" from the album due to one wrong guitar note.
After four weeks in the top spot it was displaced by "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" by Elton John, as featured in the animated film The Lion King. John's song won both the Academy Award for Best Original Song and the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song as well as the Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. The year's final number one was "I'll Make Love to You" by R&B; group Boyz II Men, which held the top spot for the final two weeks of 1994. The track also reached the top spot on the Hot R&B; Singles listing, and was one of two of 1994's AC number ones to also top Billboards all-genre chart, the Hot 100, the other being Celine Dion's cover version of Jennifer Rush's 1984 song "The Power of Love".
"Will You Be There (In the Morning)" is a ballad by American rock band Heart. The song was written by veteran songwriter and producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange, who was responsible for writing Heart's US number-two single "All I Wanna Do Is Make Love to You" in 1990, and was released as the first single from the band's eleventh studio album Desire Walks On (although "Black on Black II" was released to radio first). Unlike the strong majority of Heart songs, which feature Ann Wilson on lead vocals, the lead singer on the song is Nancy Wilson. The song was not as successful as Heart's previous collaboration with Lange, as "Will You Be There" peaked at number 39 on the US Billboard Hot 100; it is the last song by Heart to enter the US top 40 to date.
The sketch takes the form of a surreal duologue between Cook and Moore's cloth-capped alter egos Pete and Dud, which sees them exchanging stories about being pursued by glamorous film stars in increasingly ludicrous situations. Pete starts by explaining how he received a telephone call from Betty Grable ("just the other night") asking him to fly out to her luxury yacht and spend the night with her. Dud tells Pete it's "funny [he] should say that" (this becomes a running gag throughout the sketch) and goes on to tell the tale about how he woke up in the middle of the night to discover Anna Magnani in his kitchen, "up to her knees in rice", demanding she make love to him. Dud's story reminds Pete of the time Greta Garbo scaled his drainpipe and tried to get into his bedroom via the window but Pete rejected her advances.
"Love a Woman" is a down-tempo soulful R&B; ballad with a female empowerment theme and live-sounding instruments. The soothing track starts off with Blige singing with a dark voice, "So you think you know how to love a woman/ But I think it's still some things you need to know." As the flowery instrumental builds with a serene piano melody and accentuating horns, Blige goes on to warn that a woman needs more than material things. A writer of Billboard magazine further noted that the song was schooling men on just how good to love a woman. During her lines, Beyoncé sings with a vibrato voice, "A woman / Needs you to make love to her / She needs more than sex / Oh, a real woman needs a real man / They don’t talk about it, be about it / Put that work in, still shows his woman real romance".
Edmonds has worked with many successful performers in contemporary music. “I’m Your Baby Tonight” (1990), produced for Whitney Houston, was Houston's introduction to R&B; music and Edmonds' first No. 1 Top 40 hit in the US. He also wrote and produced Boyz II Men's 1992 "End of the Road" and 1994 "I'll Make Love to You", both of which established records for the longest stay at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He co-wrote, co-produced, and provided backing vocals on Madonna's 1994 Bedtime Stories, which featured the seven-week No. 1 hit "Take a Bow", and shared billing with Eric Clapton on the chart-topping Grammy winner "Change the World" from the Phenomenon soundtrack. He also wrote and produced the No. 1 hit "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)" for Houston as well as the rest of the critically acclaimed 10 million-selling Waiting to Exhale soundtrack in 1995, which spawned additional hits for Houston, Brandy and Mary J. Blige.
The story opens with its protagonist, the overweight, lazy, yet fancifully imaginative Norman Mott driving into the town of Alegre to gamble and visit his girlfriend, the zaftig, blonde Sandra Patterson, at college. He attempts to make love to Sandra but is thwarted by her sexual repression at the hands of her mother, who is a disciple of the evangelist Reverend Smiley Harley Gurrey. Between her mother’s influence and the experience of being tricked into a sham marriage as a teenager, Sandra is so apprehensive about sex that she becomes extremely flatulent every time a man makes sexual advances to her. Mott, facing the likelihood that he will soon serve a prison sentence for refusing to be drafted into the Vietnam War, borrows money from Sandra to gamble, hoping to raise the money to pay for his mentally handicapped twin brother, Paulie, to stay in a care facility while he is incarcerated.
The concept was that Mango's sexual appeal was irresistible to anyone regardless of gender or sexual orientation, including males who are ostensibly heterosexual, a joke that was typically effected by making his admirer in each sketch the celebrity guest host of that episode (who was usually male). Women who also fell under his spell included Ellen DeGeneres, his high school sweetheart played by Gwyneth Paltrow, and his suburban wife, portrayed by Molly Shannon. The host would then become obsessed with Mango, and their thoughts would increasingly drift back to him at inopportune times (such as when they are with their children and families) until they couldn't resist any longer. The sketches would usually revolve around Mango being backstage at one of his "shows" (which appeared burlesque in nature) and the host would visit him, wanting to woo and make love to him, but Mango would resist until the host was driven insane.
"End of the Road" is a song by American R&B; group Boyz II Men for the Boomerang soundtrack. It was released in 1992 and was written by Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Antonio L.A. Reid and Daryl Simmons. "End of the Road" achieved overwhelming domestic and international success. Also it is considered one of the most successful songs of all time. In the United States, "End of the Road" spent a then record breaking 13 weeks at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, a record broken later in the year by Whitney Houston's 14-week number one hit "I Will Always Love You"; Boyz II Men would later match Houston's record with "I'll Make Love to You", which spent 14 weeks at number one in 1994, and then reclaim the record with "One Sweet Day" (a duet with Mariah Carey), which spent 16 weeks at number one from 1995 to 1996.
With the four finally arriving at the wedding, Epponnee-Rae and Brett (who made their way to Papilloma with Prue and Trude, who are also in attendance) interrupt Kim and Julio's vows, and set off a heated argument in which it is revealed that Kim is not actually royalty, and that Julio (who had earlier revealed that his mother is Elle Macpherson) is not Javier's son, as he fathered no children. Gary Poole (Mick Molloy, who earlier appeared in a flashback), Kath's ex-husband and Kim's father, is revealed to be an extradited royal descendant, therefore making Kath a queen and Kim a princess. Alain also confesses he was "forced" to make love to the queen, and fathered a daughter, the maid Isabella, who professes her love for Prince Julio. Following the unsuccessful wedding, the royals (including Kath and Kim) along with Kel and Brett appear on a balcony above the town square, where the townspeople chant for food.
It was then that she writes in her book that Elvis "forcefully made love to me...[as he said] 'This is how a real man makes love to his woman.'"Presley 1985, p. 298" She later stated in an interview that she regretted her choice of words in describing the incident, and said it had been an overstatement. She went on to say following the incident, "what really hurt was that he was not sensitive to me as a woman and his attempt at reconciliation had come too late," suggesting that his actions were a deliberate attempt at reconciliation or compensation for his lack of sexual interest in Priscilla which had been a source of hurt and discontent for her for years. Priscilla states in her book: "He had mentioned to me before we were married that he had never been able to make love to a woman who had a child"Presley (1985), p. 259 and she later expressed the personal repercussions of their sexual dysfunction: "I am beginning to doubt my own sexuality as a woman.
Initially, the Chess brothers would not allow Muddy Waters to use his working band in the recording studio; instead, he was provided with a backing bass by Ernest "Big" Crawford or by musicians assembled specifically for the recording session, including "Baby Face" Leroy Foster and Johnny Jones. Gradually, Chess relented, and by September 1953 he was recording with one of the most acclaimed blues groups in history: Little Walter Jacobs on harmonica, Jimmy Rogers on guitar, Elga Edmonds (also known as Elgin Evans) on drums, and Otis Spann on piano. The band recorded a series of blues classics during the early 1950s, some with the help of the bassist and songwriter Willie Dixon, including "Hoochie Coochie Man", "I Just Want to Make Love to You", and "I'm Ready" Muddy Waters's band became a proving ground for some of the city's best blues talent, with members of the ensemble going on to successful careers of their own. In 1952, Little Walter left when his single "Juke" became a hit, although he continued a collaborative relationship long after he left, appearing on most of the band's classic recordings in the 1950s.
Marie chanced across the song "Feels Like I'm in Love" in a music publishing office: Ray Dorset had written it in 1977 in hopes of having Elvis Presley record it: it's unclear if the song was ever pitched to Presley before his death that year. Dorset's group Mungo Jerry did record the song but their version was relegated to the B-side of a Belgian single "Sur Le Pont D'Avignon" (A-side). Marie and Peter Yellowstone – who had co- written her hits with Mike Tinsley – saw the potential of the song as a follow-up to "Make Love to Me", and Marie's recording of "Feels Like I'm in Love" returned her to the Top 10 in South Africa (#7) in November 1979. Like all of Marie's recordings to that date, "Feels Like I'm in Love" failed to become a hit in the UK, but it did become a popular disco item first in Scotland and eventually all over Britain. The track's prolonged popularity in the clubs led Pye to re-release the song in the summer of 1980, after a No. 61 debut on the chart dated 2 August "Feels Like I'm in Love" entered the Top Ten 23 August and spent the weeks of 13 and 20 September at No. 1.
