The first Tempo moped ever manufactured was the bicycle-like 1951 Tempo Handy. It looked like a bicycle, but where the pedals normally would be it carried a Sachs 49 cc, 1 hp engine with pedals and two gears, shifted with the left side twist grip. It had a three-litre gasoline tank and weighed around 28 kilograms. To start the moped, one put the engine in neutral (the start gear) and used the pedals as a kick starter.

The motorcycle featured dual exhaust ports with dual silencers akin to most Jawa motorcycles, but unlike the CZ 250 on which it was based, which featured a single exhaust port. The wheels came with CNC-machined hubs, Excel brand rims, zinc/nickel-coated spokes and aluminum spoke nipples. The new bodywork had a slimmer seat, a longer rear fender and a translucent fuel tank. There was a newly redesigned kick-starter.

Cam Kirk’s "Day 4 Exhibit" launched in Atlanta, Georgia, on April 19, 2016. The exhibit has been updated monthly with unreleased photos of influential artists. The Minicar moved on through several different incarnations, culminating in the "Mark G" in 1961. Convertibles were offered, as were van and estate versions. Scott started making boat engines in 1900. He patented his first engine in 1904 (Patent GB 3367 of 1904) and started motorcycle production in 1908 with a vertical two-stroke 450 cc twin, with patented triangulated frame, chain drive, neutral-finder, kick starter (Patent GB 27667 of 1908), and two-speed gearbox. His patented two-stroke engine designs are still the basis of modern two-stroke engines and features such as the first kick start, monoshock suspension, efficient radiators, rotary inlet valves, drip-feed lubricators and centrestands continue to this day. In April of 2020, Lava Land was ranked #4 in a readers poll published by Fecking Bahamas of the 50 greatest math rock albums of all time. Due to popular demand the band ran a Kick Starter campaign in 2013 to release "Lava Land" on vinyl. The LP is limited to a pressing of 1,000 copies, 900 on purple vinyl and a limited run of 100 on clear vinyl. The campaign was such a success, Piglet were able to also package and release a CDEP called "Songs" which contains live multi-track recordings of all of the band's post-"Lava Land" material.

Buying Poultry is a program that aims to bring transparency from the poultry industry to its consumers. The New York Times quotes Farm Forward Executive Director Andrew Decoriolis, encapsulating the reason behind Farm Forward's Buying Poultry program: “Not all [animal welfare] certification seals are created equal... Companies can essentially pick the standards that are the easiest for them to meet.” To pose a solution to this problem, Farm Forward launched Buying Poultry in 2013, a program funded by a kick-starter campaign and a grant by the ASPCA. Buying Poultry is a national database that lists poultry products with their welfare labels or certifications.

The 495cc engines were manufactured at the works of John Warrick & Co Ltd of Reading, Berkshire, though they are reported to have moved to Twyford and then to Shalford. The Baldwin part of the partnership was Owen M. Baldwin, who was a successful motorcycle racer at Brooklands (on a Matchless in 1922, and a Zenith-JAP in 1928), he also took the motorcycle land-speed record in 1925 on a Zenith-JAP at 124.62 mph. The model range was entirely revamped in 1969 with the introduction of the BMW /5 range, consisting of the 500 cc BMW R 50/5, the 600 cc BMW R 60/5 and the 750 cc BMW R 75/5 models. The engines were a complete redesign, with the crankshaft bearings upgraded from roller bearings to shell-type journal bearings (the type used in modern car engines). The camshaft was now chain- driven and located underneath the crankshaft instead of at the top of the engine, in order to lower the centre of gravity. An electric starter was available for the first time, although the traditional gearbox-mounted kick starter was also retained.

The SR400 has an air-cooled 4-stroke single cylinder SOHC 2-valve engine with a dry-sump, with the downtubes of the motorcycle's frame serving as the engine's oil reservoir and cooling system, thereby eliminating the need for an external oil cooler, reducing engine pumping losses, and allowing increased ground clearance as well as reduced overall width. The bike's semi-double cradle frame uses high-strength steel. The SR400 had a kick-starter and no electric start. To aid with starting, the bike had a sight glass on the right side of the cylinder head indicating the optimal cylinder position for starting, as well as a decompressor lever on the left handlebar.

The TMX Alpha was launched in 2014 as essentially a rebadged Honda CG125 due to persistent demand as a result of proven record with OHV engines from the older TMX 155, the TMX alpha features a familiar 124.11 cc four stroke, air-cooled OHV engine mated to a five-speed transmission instead of four, and it is started by an electric starter and a kick starter with decompression function. The instrument panel features an analog tachometer with gear indicator which is absent in the older TMX 155. A bar-mounted kill switch and passing light switch is added for safety, plus, new bar end weights were installed to lessen engine vibration. 18-inch tires give the TMX 125 Alpha a taller stance while also enabling it to conquer various road conditions.

The band toured extensively to support the album, including an appearance at the Big Chill Festival. It was in fellow soul head DJ Craig Charles that they found their first radio champion as he supported them heavily on ‘The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show’ which was a kick-starter for their assault on national radio eventually landing Radio 2 record of the week twice and a playlist on BBC 6 Music. In 2011, the band released its second album Eccentric Audio (also on Jalapeno Records). The follow up single "Hard Work" was also playlisted on BBC Radio 2 and played by Chris Evans and Graham Norton.

Engineer Doug Hele had joined the Norton factory in 1956 under parent company AMC – instead of combining the two race shops, the AJS/Matchless facility was closed to Grand Prix development, and Hele was briefed to secretly develop an engine intended to ultimately compete at Daytona under AMA race regulations, requiring machines to be based on production roadster designs with a compression ratio no greater than 8.5:1, and using a kick starter mechanism. Dennis Greenfield and Fred Swift won the 500 cc class in the Thruxton 500 event for road-legal production machines in 1960. Race-styled 1961 Norton Dominator Norton briefly used race-tuned Dominators from circa 1960, but they were still outclassed by the Manx Norton which was used for general purpose racing. The highly developed 500 cc Dominator engine intended as a successor produced and revved to 8,000 rpm.
