Homer leds Prairie down the hall — where she passes her former friends/prisoners, Renata (Paz Vega), Rachel (Sharon Van Etten), and Scott (Will Brill) locked up once again — towards someone we all know is waiting for her: Hap.
They arrive to discover the farm isn't everything they'd hoped, and wind up living in a shack without running water or electricity near their tenants, Florence and Hap Jackson (Mary J. Blige and Rob Morgan) and their family.
On this episode of VICE Meets, we caught up with actor Michael K. Williams for an inside scoop on his role in Hap and Leonard: Mucho Mojo, a murder mystery set in East Texas in the late 80s.
"We are the oldest boat, and I'm the oldest helmsman — I love that fact," said Hap Fauth, of the United States, the owner and skipper of Bella Mente, which won the Maxi 72 class the past two years.
Hap and Leonard is my favorite kind of TV show — one that bites off more than it can chew, then insists, through muffled mouth, that it's doing just fine, and no, it doesn't need a drink of water.
The question comes up during the final scene of season 2 (spoilers ahead), when Isaacs's character, Dr. Hunter Aloysius Percy, aka Hap, makes a jump to a third dimension with OA aka Original Angel aka Prairie aka Nina Azarova (Brit Marling).
"We did Fort Smith, Tulsa, and Oklahoma City without Johnny Cash, and then we heard this rumour that Johnny was furious that we were finishing the tour under his name and that he had had a confrontation with Hap," said Western.

They are connected together — for greater reasons we don't exactly know yet — and it sounds like going into Season 3 (Netflix has allegedly planned five seasons), Prairie is going to try and break their connection and escape from Hap once and for all.
He has a lot of the same background as I do: I grew up poor, I grew up in the country, and I did many of the [odd] jobs Hap and Leonard do, including cleaning brush, fields of potatoes, all that stuff.

Set in the late 1980s in East Texas, each season adapts a new novel in which best pals Hap (James Purefoy) and Leonard (Michael K. Williams) unpack America's rich, tortured history of seedy deals gone wrong, Vietnam War hangovers, and racial animosity.
Hap and Leonard won't be for everyone, but trying out its third season — you don't need to know much about seasons one and two to watch, though they're available on Netflix — might be a good way to see if it's for you.

Goaltending was the main problem, but the team was able to acquire another future Hall of Famer: Hap Holmes, a former Toronto star in the N.H.A. Holmes had been playing with the Seattle Metropolitans of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association, who won the Stanley Cup in 1917.
Hap and Leonard are on the hunt for some money that disappeared at the bottom of a riverbed decades ago, up against all sorts of seedy characters who are also looking for that cash, and that gives the story the genre juice it needs to keep pumping.
It doesn't take long for Hap and Leonard to figure out that something hotter than vintage autos is being peddled from this showroom, but the nature of the merchandise and the extent of the criminal enterprise involved in its distribution will have the boys facing the Dixie Mafia.

Much of Johnny's wrath was also directed at Hap Peebles, whom he thought needed to be reminded of his place as a local promoter who was primarily contracted to present his show and little else, and who Johnny believed was under no authority to have acted the way he did.
Hap, who's proud to identify himself as a "very juvenile and pretty crass" rebel from East Texas, and his sidekick, Leonard, who's black, gay and tougher than rawhide, step into it with both feet when Leonard beats up a citizen on his own front lawn after seeing him abusing his dog.
Cable entities like Sundance are embracing the sort of niche programming that wouldn't have made it past the script stage even 10 years ago, and more indie filmmakers are turning to TV as a way to get their passion projects made (as with director Jim Mickle's Sundance series Hap and Leonard).
This year, more than 260 boats, ranging from 22 feet to 33 feet, and 23,210 sailors are expected to compete, including Hap Fauth looking for his first win on his new boat Bella Mente, George Sakellaris on Proteus defending last year's Maxi class win, and Hernan Mones Ruiz trying to repeat his 210 victory on the Ventarron, this year in the Spinnaker class.
This season, the OA (co-creator Brit Marling) has been sucked into another universe's version of San Francisco, where a detective is trying to figure out the mystery surrounding her, the mysterious Hap (Jason Isaacs), and the even more mysterious "movements," which have been gifted to the OA and a handful of others because they keep dying, getting new movements from beings that live in the afterlife, then being forcibly resurrected.
Netflix's brand new season of The OA once again involves lots of different dimensions, movements, Prairie being a certifiable badass, and Hap being creepy AF all the time, but it also adds one more interesting layer: a story about a missing girl, Michelle Vu. At first, it appears as if this storyline is coming out of nowhere, because what does a missing girl have to do with the greater story of The OA?
