Bobbito's relationship with MF DOOM had begun in the early 1990s, through common friends and "Constipated Monkey" family member Kurious Jorge, who had released an album entitled A Constipated Monkey through Bobbito's first imprint Hoppoh Records, and Lord Sear, a common fixture on Bobbito and Stretch's radio show. The label issued Zev's first two MF DOOM singles in 1997, with a second following in 1998 and a full-length, entitled Operation: Doomsday in 1999. During the same period of time, the label issued unreleased KMD material from the Black Bastards sessions (a period from 1993 to 1994) in the form of two twelve-inch singles and an EP entitled Black Bastards Ruffs + Rares.

Unusual for a late night talk show, Late Night made frequent use of various costumed characters such as The Masturbating Bear, Robot on a Toilet, and Pimpbot5000. The humor in these sketches often derived from the crude construction of the characters' costumes as well as the absurdist nature of their conceptions. For example, Pimpbot5000 was a 1950s-style robot who dressed and acted in the manner of an exaggerated blaxploitation pimp, while The Masturbating Bear was a man in a bear costume wearing an oversized diaper who would inevitably begin to fondle himself to the tune of Aram Khachaturian's "Sabre Dance" when brought on stage. Many of these characters did little more in their appearances than walk across the stage or be wheeled out from behind the curtain, but some had extensive sketches on the show.

As the last play of O’Neill that casts a black lead, All God’s Chillun Got Wings discussed the intraracial and interracial issues that plagued American society in the early 20th century. O’Neill gave glimpses of the struggle of being black in the time period and what the implications of being in a relationship with someone of the opposite race would entail. W.J. Arnold, one of the founders of the Daughters of the Confederacy said about the play at the time: > “The scene where Miss Blair is called upon to kiss and fondle a Negro’s hand > is going too far, even for the stage. The play may be produced above the > Mason and Dixie [sic] line, but Mr. O’Neill will not get the friendly > reception he had when he sent ‘Emperor Jones’ his other coloured play into > the South.

In the Green Room, The Ting Tings second ever Irish appearance was timed with a downturn in the weather, with heavy rain prompting a large crowd into the marquee to witness a set that opened with "Great DJ" and closed with "Shut Up and Let Me Go" and "That's Not My Name". Gardaí closed off all entrances to stem the huge crowd,Hannah Hamilton, "Oxegen '08: Saturday 12 July" – Hot Press, Vol:32 Issue:14, 30 July 2008, page 40 although the situation was not quite as serious as at MGMT in the Pet Sounds tent the following day. Camille O'Sullivan arrived on the Pet Sounds Stage in a kimono and a trilby and stripped down to a saucy dress and Wizard of Oz style sequined stilettos for "In These Shoes", which she performed in an array of pin-up poses. She miowed and purred her way through the set, crawling onto the speaker to fondle security.

After a struggle, Clemmons emerged from the house and punched the deputy in the face, and assaulted a second deputy who arrived to help. Clemmons was placed under arrest and taken to Pierce County Jail, where he continued to struggle and told jail workers, "I'll kill all you bitches." He was charged with two felony assault charges and two felony malicious mischief charges, and released from jail the next day after posting a $40,000 bail bond without seeing a judge. On May 11, around 1 a.m., Clemmons appeared naked in his living room and ordered two female relatives, ages 11 and 12, to fondle him. The two reportedly complied out of fear, and the 11-year-old fled the house afterward. Clemmons took the 12-year-old into his bedroom along with Clemmons' wife. Clemmons repeatedly referred to himself as Jesus, and said his wife was Eve. He released the 12-year-old girl after his wife begged him to let her go. However, around 4 a.m.

The idea of tossing Roger into the middle of a Banana republic and making him the dictator was inspired, especially as his personal obsessions somehow made him even more of a power- mad ruler than the old guy. American Dad’s political satire is always as broad and non-specific as possible, but this was a pretty amusing take on the U.S.’ relations with Latin American countries as well, and the attempts to tie everything in to some sort of personal story involving the characters – specifically Roger's desire to have Stan be his best friend and go pants shopping with him – worked better than it sometimes does." He also gave the subplot of the episode a positive review, going on to write, "The plot where Steve and Snot competed to see who could get whose mom to fondle whom in the most egregious fashion was a little overly broad, to be honest, but enough of the lines were amusing that the plot worked almost in spite of itself." In conclusion of his review, VanDerWerff would write, "American Dad sometimes wins the animation week by default, but this episode was actually and genuinely a fun piece of television.
