Zala was an administrative county (comitatus) of the Kingdom of Hungary, bordered by the river Drave to the south. The territory of the former county is now divided between Hungary, Croatia and Slovenia. The capital of the county was Zalaegerszeg.

The Jakab Hill castle was an early Iron Age, a castle built as a circular rampart of earth and stone in the Mecsek, on the Jakab Hill, Hungary. The Celtic was situated on the Jakab-hegy overlooking the Drave flood plain. The ruins of a Pauline Monastery is situated within the old ramparts of the castle. The ruins of the monastery, which is located in the middle of the castle, are visible and preserved.

Their lineup consisted of Astbury (vocals), Duffy (lead guitar), John Tempesta (drums), Dimkich (rhythm guitar) and Wyse (returning as bassist). Their first stage show was held in March 2006 in San Francisco, California, at The Fillmore.

Roman money had ceased circulating in all Pannonia north of the Drave (including Pannonia Prima) by 375, indicating that little Roman influence remained in the area. The foederati and Visigothic and Hunnic barbarians caused trouble, and the situation in Pannonia was described by Claudian as "a continual siege" in 399. Pannonia Prima held out under Generidus, but was eventually assimilated into the Huns' territory by 427. Rome would never regain control of this area, but remained a Roman province, until the fall of the Ostrogothic Kingdom in 553.

Today this tourmaline locality (type locality for dravite) at Dobrova (near Dravograd), is a part of the Republic of Slovenia.Ertl, 2007. Tschermak gave this tourmaline the name dravite, for the Drava river area, which is the district along the Drava River (in German: Drau, in Latin: Drave) in Austria and Slovenia. The chemical composition which was given by Tschermak in 1884 for this dravite approximately corresponds to the formula NaMg3(Al,Mg)6B3Si6O27(OH), which is in good agreement (except for the OH content) with the endmember formula of dravite as known today.

The Réservoir Blanc (English: White Reservoir) is a reservoir located in the city of La Tuque, in Quebec, Canada. The artificial lake was created in 1930 by the construction of the Rapide-Blanc Generating Station on Saint-Maurice River. The year 1996 marked the end of a period of 150 years of “drave” (transport of wood by flotation on the water) on the Saint-Maurice River; consequently the amateurs of recreation-touristic activities have appropriated the "Réservoir Blanc" mainly for boating and fishing. Around the reservoir and tributaries, a few hundred cottages are there and a few outfitters provide services to visitors.

During the long period of "drave" (log driving), the Lievre River has experienced many tragedies of drowning or other accidents involving loggers, of which at Rapid of "Scie Ronde" (Rounded saw) and "Chute à Sinaï" (Fall Sinai). The history book "Les pionniers de la Lièvre" (Pioneers of Hare) tells the story of forestry on the "Haute Lièvre" (Upper Hare), that is the actual territory of the ZEC.zec Normandie The outdoor enthusiasts can hike with interpretation of the log drive on the trail along the "Sentier des Draveurs" (river Draveurs) along "rivière du Lièvre", it rapids and it falls.

As part of the mass evacuation of children in the early months of World War II, teenage Mary O'Rane is billeted with Mrs Agatha ('Aggie') Voray in an unthreatened area in the north of England. Cellardyke is officially part of Kilrenny parish, and also part of the Anstruther fishing district, its fortunes fluctuating with the fishing trade.D Hay Fleming, Guide to the East Neuk of Fife (1886) The population grew quickly in the 19th century and by the 1860s Cellardyke was a thriving town, with more than fifty boat owners and skippers year round, and one hundred other captains joining in for the annual herring fishing drive or Lammas drave which took place around the Lammas festival on 1 August.Parish records 1861 There was also a February surge in fishing, when shoals of herring arrived in the Firth of Forth. The fish curers of Cellardyke salted and smoked cod and herring from Anstruther as well as their own fish, sending some to London, and some as far as the West Indies.

Mars River has cold water, many rapids and falls, and a rocky bottom that are well suited to the Atlantic salmon for his journey from the sea to the pits of reproduction. From 1894 to 1935, Price Brothers operated a private club for recreational fishing on the river. In 1930, construction of a dam at the "aux chutes de la passe des Murailles" (falls of the walls pass), 13 km from the mouth, was a major constraint to the salmon. This dam facilitated the floating of logs and the "drave" (log drives) that has been practiced until 1952. In 1976, a number of development work on the river was done promoting salmon pits reproduction. This work was accompanied by a seeding program which took place between 1976 and the reopening of fishing on the river in 1992.
