The decision was overturned by the Film Appeals Board on December 17; this caused controversy among members of Fianna Fáil – chairman Ned Brennan believed the majority of the Irish public didn't want it to be released and said "standards must be maintained", wanting it banned on "moral grounds".

Arliss had the biggest success of his career to date with The Man in Grey (1943), which he co-wrote and directed. It was one of the biggest hits of his career and made stars of its leads, Mason, Stewart Granger, Phyllis Calvert and Margaret Lockwood. Calvert later claimed Arliss was "not at all" responsible for the eventual success of the film, saying "He was a lazy director; he had got a wonderful job there and he just sat back... [producer] Ted Black was the one who would watch it, cut it, and know exactly what the audience would take."Brian MacFarlane, An Autobiography of British Cinema, Methuen 1997 p 110 Calvert also said ""Arlissing about" became "a Gainsborough byword for slackness.

In a further some-what controversial decision he was banned from being a member of the coaching staff as he had planned to run the water as a trainer for the Tongan team.
King William III (1650–1702); portrait by Godfrey Kneller As part of William III and Mary II's coronation honours, Churchill was created Earl of Marlborough on 9 April 1689 (O.S.); he was also sworn as a member of the Privy Council and made a Gentleman of the King's Bedchamber. His elevation, however, led to accusatory rumours from King James's supporters that Marlborough had disgracefully betrayed his erstwhile king for personal gain; William himself entertained reservations about the man who had deserted James. Marlborough's apologists though, including his most notable descendant and biographer Winston Churchill, have been at pains to attribute patriotic, religious, and moral motives to his action; but in the words of Chandler, it is difficult to absolve Marlborough of ruthlessness, ingratitude, intrigue and treachery against a man to whom he owed virtually everything in his life and career to date.

His unexpected appearance as a possible candidate for the job of Chancellor, campaigning on behalf of The Greens against Franz Josef Strauss and Helmut Schmidt in the forthcoming general election, attracted a surge in public interest, however. Press attention included a hitherto unfamiliar level of interest in Haußleiter's erratic political career to date, on his wartime writings, and on some of his more controversial political fellow travelers since 1945. On 24 April 1980 the political television magazine programme, Monitor transmitted a lengthy feature on Haußleiter, referring to his war diary and including footage from the 1957 party conference of the DG. Various Haußleiter quotations from the early 1950s were also included, and the programme concluded that Haußleiter was really a Nazi. Haußleiter himself initially dismissed this as an unexpected politically motivated attack on the new party, and part of the normal political smear culture.
196 While not entirely dismissing an altruistic libertarian ideology, John E. Ferling argues that Washington's militancy was shaped by his proud and ambitious quest for wealth and recognition, and the obstacles placed in the way of that quest by a British ruling class that regarded the colonies as subservient, their inhabitants second class.Ferling p. 70 Paul K. Longmore argues that in addition to the personal grievances accumulated in his career to date, Washington saw a pattern of oppression that betrayed a British intention to keep the colonies in a state of economic and political servitude. Washington's outspoken support for a nonimportation scheme, Longmore concludes, was based on his belief that such a scheme would promote colonial manufacturing, end American economic dependence on Great Britain and reduce the growing debt of Virginia's ruling classes, a debt that was undermining their moral integrity, social authority and political independence.

A little of the real would go a long way after the smoke > and mirrors defining her career to date. Lansky was disappointed with the track, and wrote in his Idolator article that "Aura" consisted of all "the best and worst things about Lady Gaga amplified"; it was "weird and frustrating and great and terrible and brilliant and a failure all at once". Umema Aimem of The Washington Post criticized the song's lyrics: "The song actually started out well ... but then you lost me when you proceeded to turn such a sacred symbol of [Islam] into an exotic costume". Mark Hogan of Spin called it "a grasping EDM mess" and "all over the place"; he disliked the burqa lyrics, "along with plenty of moments that bring to mind all the 'blog house' producers following in the path of Crystal Castles or Simian Mobile Disco circa 2007".

However, a niggling toe injury during the following pre-season kept McDonald sidelined for the opening five rounds of the 2018 AFL season, before he finally returned with two goals and 16 disposals in a 36 point win against Essendon.

Witt, along with fellow blue chip signings Ben Kennedy and Brent Kite, added much needed player strength at Manly in 2005 and the club qualified for its first semi finals series since 1998 and finished in eighth position. For the first half of the season Manly was among the dominant teams of the NRL, and Witt's form correspondingly at five-eighth was some of the best of his career to date, prompting Manly officials to publicly thank Parramatta for releasing him. Among the highlights were excellent performances in the victories over eventual Premiers Wests Tigers and in the amazing come-from-behind win against the Penrith Panthers. Penrith led 26-6 early in the second half, before a Witt-inspired Manly team powered home to win 36–26 at Brookvale Oval. Also during this period, Witt kicked 20 successive goals without a miss. However, Manly found wins hard to come by in the second half of the season, and Witt experienced the same frustrations that plagued his 2004.

Firstly Nena's new look (short hair, often barefoot and revealingly dressed including a skirt made of bananas)See Neue Welle TV program 100 Grad broadcast 30 March 1993. and secondly the setlist which followed her career to date chronologically, opening with "99 Luftballons" (which normally comes towards the end of her concerts) and other Nena band classics followed by the highlights of her previous solo album before concluding with an almost complete rendition of the Bongo Girl album. As the 1990s, the commercial lowpoint in Nena's career, progressed, Bongo Girls songs disappeared from her live concerts although "Manchmal ist ein Tag ein ganzes Leben" was the only song from her four studio albums of the 1990s to feature in the 2002 three-hour-long concert which marked the 20th anniversary of the breakthrough of the band and helped relaunch her solo career. Even then the song's appearance was brief and possibly spontaneous (an unaccompanied 70-second version following Nena asking the audience if there is anything else they would like her to sing).

Although Aimless Love was Prine's first release not to chart, it received positive reviews upon release and remains highly regarded. In 1985, Don Shewey of Rolling Stone magazine wrote that Aimless Love showed that "John Prine, the elegant pop songwriter, is still in top form." Writing for Allmusic, critic William Ruhlman wrote of the album "On this label debut, he is under no commercial pressures, but that seems to make him more low-key, less striking... his new sweetness, which is as winning as, if less impressive than, his witty older songs." Prine biographer Eddie Huffman called Prine's vocals "the best of his career to date" and lauded the song "Unwed Fathers" as possibly "the best since his debut, a character song that held its own with 'Sam Stone'..." "Prine fan Bob Dylan held Prine's "People Puttin' People Down" in such high regard that he covered the song in concert, with Prine explaining in the Great Days anthology: "I came out to the parking lot after the show, and there was the usual crowd.
He has reached the semi-finals of the World Championship three times, but has never appeared in a final. Until 2005, he had gone eleven years without reaching the quarter- finals of the tournament, despite consistent achievements in other events. McManus's resilience in snooker matchplay is shown by the fact that the first whitewash of his professional career came in his 0–5 defeat by Peter Ebdon at the 1998 Grand Prix, his 312th match as a professional player. At the 1994 Masters, McManus defeated Nigel Bond by 5–2 in the first round, Ken Doherty 5–1 in the quarter-finals, and then Neal Foulds 6–4 in the semi-final to set up his first triple crown tournament final against defending champion and fellow Scot Stephen Hendry. In what would become the highlight of his career to date, he claimed the Masters title at Wembley defeating Stephen Hendry 9–8 in the final and thus ending Hendry's unbeaten run in the tournament, which dated back to 1989.
Brítez has spent his entire career to-date with Unión Santa Fe after coming through the youth ranks at the club. He made his competitive league debut in February 2013 in a 1–1 draw against Arsenal de Sarandí. He went onto make sixteen appearances in his first season with Unión but it ended in disappointment as his side were relegated from the 2012–13 Argentine Primera División. In two seasons in Argentina's second tier, the Primera B Nacional, he participated in forty league fixtures for Unión and scored twice before they were promoted back into the Primera División after winning Zone B in the 2014 Primera B Nacional season. His first season back in the top-flight (2015) was an eventful one as he played twenty-one times and scored three goals but he also received the first red card of his career in a 5–2 win versus Crucero del Norte on 9 May 2015; he then received a red card in each of his next two seasons: 2016 versus Racing Club de Avellaneda and 2016–17 versus Aldosivi.

When asked if she expected to do so well in the competition, she stated that she had always wanted to do well, but above all she wanted the Greek people to be proud of the performance regardless of how well it did. In the same interview, host Eleni Menegaki stated that many, including herself, viewed Eurovision as a defining point in Kalomoira's career to date: her mature professional performance distanced her from the innocent little girl image associated with her participation in Fame Story.
After a brief spell in the mid 2000s in the early days of the PDC which involved going around different Greene King pubs to qualify for events, Thomas rejoined the 'reformed' PDC in 2013 and hit his first competitive nine-dart finish whilst playing in the second UK Open Qualifier against Peter Hudson. He qualified for the UK Open in Bolton for the first time at the first time of asking through the UK Open Order Of Merit and lost out to Conan Whitehead in the second round. Thomas' best result of his career to date came at the 2014 Dutch Darts Masters where he beat Wayne Jones 6–1 and Steve Beaton 6–5, before he lost 6–4 to Mervyn King in the last 16 earning £2,000 in the process. Thomas matched this run at the sixth Players Championship of the year by beating Peter Hudson, Andy Hamilton and Ronnie Baxter, but was then eliminated 6–4 by Kyle Anderson. Another last 16 defeat came in 2015 at the second Players Championship event, 6–5 at the hands of James Wade, but Thomas went one better at the fourth event by reaching his first PDC quarter-final.
Taylor started his professional career at Millwall where he played 28 games before being signed by Bolton for £150,000 in March 1996. Taylor failed to break into the Bolton side and only managed to score three goals in all competitions. One of these goals came in the memorable 6–1 League Cup win over Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, when Bolton were in the second tier. After loan spells at Rotherham United and Blackpool, he signed for Tranmere Rovers in October 1998 for a fee of £350,000. Taylor played over 100 games for Tranmere in almost three years and played the full 90 minutes in the 2000 Football League Cup Final before signing for Stockport County on a free transfer in July 2001. His stay at Stockport was short lived, and he signed for Blackpool, this time on a permanent deal, in January 2002. It was at Blackpool that Taylor enjoyed the most successful part of his career to date, scoring 61 goals in all competitions in a two-year spell. In 2002 he started and scored in the final as Blackpool won the 2001–02 Football League Trophy. His goalscoring record resulted in a £100,000 transfer to Championship side Plymouth Argyle.
Colt McCoy throws a 65-yard touchdown pass to Chris Ogbonnaya. Texas' most recent game against Colorado was in 2005 and they faced each other twice: once in the regular season, and once in the Big 12 Championship Game. In the first game, the Longhorns established a lead early in the game and never lost it; they led 35–10 at halftime and defeated the 2005 Colorado team by a final score of 42–17. Texas scored touchdowns on all five of their first half possessions. Vince Young had the best statistical performance of his career to date, completing 25 of 29 passing attempts for 336 yards and 2 passing touchdowns in addition to 58 yards rushing and 3 rushing touchdowns. His 86.2% completion percentage set a new single-game record for Texas, breaking his previous record of 85.7% set against Oklahoma State in 2004. After the game, Colorado Head Coach Gary Barnett said of Young's passing performance, "We can't do that in practice against air", meaning that his team would not have been able to complete 86.2% of their passes even if playing unopposed. The championship game matched the Big 12 North Division champion against the South Division champion in a game held after the regular season has been completed.
