The old woman reciprocates by revealing her own tragic life: born the daughter of Pope Urban X and the Princess of Palestrina, she was raped and enslaved by African pirates, witnessed violent civil wars in Morocco under the bloodthirsty King Moulay Ismaïl (during which her mother was drawn and quartered), suffered further slavery and famine, nearly died from a plague in Algiers, and had a buttock cut off to feed starving Janissaries during the Russian siege of Azov. After traversing all the Russian Empire, she eventually became a servant of Don Issachar and met Cunégonde. The trio arrives in Buenos Aires, where Governor Don Fernando d'Ibarra y Figueroa y Mascarenes y Lampourdos y Souza asks to marry Cunégonde. Just then, an alcalde (a Spanish fortress commander) arrives, pursuing Candide for killing the Grand Inquisitor.

The fungus was first isolated by Edgar Mathias Medlar in 1915 from a chronic skin lesion on the buttock of a 22-year- old man in Boston, Massachusetts who presented with verrucous lesions on the buttocks and feet. In consultation with Roland Thaxter, Medlar considered the fungus to represent a previously undescribed genus because the successive separation of the conidia and their maintained attachment to the cup-shaped portion of the sporogenous cells were unique characteristics not seen in any other genus. He named the genus Phialophora, meaning "shallow cup bearer" to represent the characteristic shape and the species epithet verrucosa, in reference to the resemblance of the lesion to "verrucous tuberculosis". Thaxter suggested that P. verrucosa should be classified under the subdivision, 'Chalarae' of Saccardo's classification system.

Wounded "in right knee, left hand, left foot, and right buttock, Antietam, Md., 17 September 1862" Upon recovering, Catterson was appointed lieutenant colonel in the 97th Regiment Indiana Infantry on October 18, and its commander as colonel on November 25. Catterson and the 97th Indiana served the Battle of Memphis in Tennessee on June 6, 1862, and the subsequent occupation of the city, until late in 1862. He then took part in the Siege of Vicksburg in the spring of 1863 and the Tullahoma Campaign that summer. Catterson and his command participated in the Third Battle of Chattanooga on November 23-25, and the Atlanta Campaign throughout the summer of 1864.

In March 1917, the 11th Battalion conducted a daylight reconnaissance along the Arras Cambrai Road followed in April by the Battle of Arras, during which Oke served as a Lieutenant (Temp.). Oke also served as Acting Captain (20 Jul 1917–10 Sep 1917). During the Third Battle of Ypres he was wounded, having been gassed on 17 August 1917 during the Battle of Langemarck and hit by shell fragments on 10 September 1917, which pierced his left shoulder and buttock. Oke was evacuated to the UK for surgery and recuperated at the W. London hospital for officers run by Lady Evelyn Mason, OBE LGStJ (1870–1944). According to his medical report, Oke was anxious to return to the fight in France and proceeded to the 3rd (Reserve) Battalion in Edinburgh. He embarked for France on 15 December 1917, rejoining the 11th (Service) Battalion.

There are less than 100 depictions of males in the EEMH archaeological record (of them, about a third are depicted with erections.) On the other hand, most individuals which received a burial (which may have been related to social status) were men. Anatomically, the robustness of limbs (which is an indicator of strength) between EEMH men and women were consistently not appreciably different from each other.

Coffin Joe tests her will by injecting her with drugs and she has hallucinations of Coffin Joe cutting off her buttock and presenting it to her after which she willingly eats it. However, he convinces himself that they are just his imagination although they continue to haunt him throughout the film.

The bill (HB1981), also known as the Droopy Drawers Bill, was earlier passed by Virginia House of Delegates by a 60-34 vote.

In Season 9, Pratt begins an off/on relationship with fellow physician, Dr. Jing- Mei "Deb" Chen. During the series, it was revealed that Pratt had a mentally handicapped adopted brother named Leon living with him, a man who kept Pratt safe and focused on school during his childhood but was left with the reasoning ability of a small child after surviving a gunshot to the head. Due to his handicap, Leon often got into trouble and would disrupt Pratt's professional and personal life, especially when he became involved with a group of thugs who stabbed him in the buttock over a confiscated gun, got him thrown in jail overnight, and then made him join them on a robbery that ended with one of the thugs dead and a cop badly injured (though he recovered thanks to good surgical work by Dr. Elizabeth Corday). To help give Pratt a break, Carter suggested that Leon leave town for a while, leading Pratt to send his brother away to stay with other family members in Baltimore.

Secondary lymphoedema of the lower extremities has been reported as an unusual side effect of liquid silicone injection on the hips and buttock while thromboembolism, implant displacement and explosion has also been listed as some of the dangers. The surgical and liposculpture contouring of the human body presents possible medical complications such as: the psychological — unmet body image expectations of aesthetic improvement; the physical — uneven contour, local and general; the physiologic — toxic reactions to the anaesthesic and the tumescent drugs; and the nervous — paresthesia, localized areas of perduring numbness in the corrected portion(s) of the gluteal region. The medical complications possible to a surgical buttocks augmentation procedure, the submuscular emplacement of a gluteal implant, include infection, surgical- wound dehiscence that exposes the implant, revision surgery, rupture of the implant, seroma (a pocket of clear serous fluid), capsular contracture, asymmetry of the corrected area, shifting of the implant, surgical over- correction, injury to the sciatic nerve, and paresthesia (tingling skin).

Batatalion Commander Calès was finally sent to combat in October 1806 and fought during the campaigns of Prussia (1806) and Poland (1807). He did not however participate neither to the famous battle of Jena, nor to that of Auerstedt (both conducted in parallel on 14 October 1806, and where the Prussian army was literally swept by the French troops), because the Division Leval, which included his 4th regiment, could not arrive on time at Jena. He distinguished himself however at the fight of Bergfried (3 February 1807), a prelude to the battle of Eylau:in « Rapport du Maréchal Soult, commandant le 4e Corps, sur la campagne de 1807 » (Report of Marshal Soult, commanding the 4th Corps, on the campaign of 1807).
