63–64 Acknowledging the history of the title "Globe Theatre", the new house featured an act-drop representing a view of Stratford-Upon-Avon. That act-drop was destroyed in a fire before the opening night, and replaced by another with a view of Anne Hathaway's cottage. Parry's first production, a five-act comedy called Cyril's Success, by H. J. A compilation of these first 3 singles was released in the States as "Baby's Angry" on Caroline Records, and gained the band airplay on US college radio. The band toured America in the autumn of 1992, on a co-headlining tour with fellow Caroline Records act Drop Nineteens. In 1993, Revolver released the single "Cradle Snatch", closely followed by the album Cold Water Flat. Although the songs were more sophisticated than their earlier work, the previous sales failed to repeat; Virgin dropped the band after a final single "I Wear Your Chain" failed to make the top 75.

Another unique feature of the theatre is the working Act Drop depicting a dancing lady. The restoration of the Gaiety Theatre was directed over several years by the Theatre Manager of the day, Mervin Russell Stokes, who was later made an MBE for his contribution to the project. It was he who, with help, arranged for the funding and closely supervised the work done, carrying out some of it himself, always with a view to strict authenticity, even down to having the original paint colours, wallpaper and carpeting recreated. He went to great lengths to return the building to as near its original appearance as possible.

Carpezat's preserved stage curtain of the Theatro da Paz in Belém (Brazil), 1889. Because Carpezat worked mainly on an independent, commercial basis, relatively few of his original set designs and scale-models have come down to us. For instance, all maquettes by Carpezat for the Théâtre de l'Opéra are preserved at the Bibliothèque-Musée de l'Opéra; by contrast, virtually no materials testify to Carpezat's rich activity at other venues in and outside France. Still, numerous photographs of Carpezat's works are available in illustrated periodicals such as Le théâtre, L'Art du théâtre, and Comœdia illustré, while a large-scale artifact of Carpezat's oeuvre survives in the guise of a painted act drop at the Theatro da Paz in Belém.

One of only about twenty-three Grade One listed theatres in Great Britain, the theatre is also one of only ten that date to the Victorian period. The north part of the building is located within the boundary of the Hadrian's Wall World Heritage Site. Stage and understage The stage represents perhaps the most complete working example of the English wood stage - possessing four bridges, eight cuts, one carpet cut, two corner traps, three warm thrappled wing shafts, two staircase traps, three object traps and one grave trap. Overhead there is a series of drum and shaft mechanisms to operate synchronised scene-changes, and a hemp fly floor stage left with drum and shaft for the act drop.
